  • Studio keeps deleting items from its library

All installed through Daz Install Manager and all in the default directories.  That's why it's so frustrating.  I might understand if something were out of place but it isn't.

One thing thast might be of importance my runtime is HUGE.  I have over 4,000 items.

When you install older content such as Aiko 3, Victoria 2, 3, 4 it doesn't actually get fully installed.  DIM puts that sort of greyed out icon in the products area so even though DIM says it installed it, it still has to be installed through Studio online.

I've done a good look through and can't find a setting anywhere that should do this.

  • Selbsthilfegruppe DAZ Studio - Beispiele, Fragen, Diskussion und sonstiges Gequatsche

Nochmals zurückkommend auf die Konvertierung bzw. Übertragung der Victoria 4 Character (inkl. Morphs, Skins u. Makeup etc.).

The earrings in this image are from FW Sushmita HD for Victoria 7 And Her Jewelry, but are retextured with shaders.

The earrings are very elegant, I like what you did with them.

I'm going offline for the rest of the morning (2:20am) as I'm trying to get on a better sleep schedule plus it's going to be storming here shortly and I want to get off the computer. California looked like it got pummeled today, hope everyone out there stayed safe from mudslides. Just saw this on weather.com

FW Sushmita HD for Victoria 7 And Her Jewelry        Katharina Hair        Precocious (Gen3F)

Another of the gals I got before the site went down this morning (wee hours.)  Katharine Hair is very sleek, nice morphs- has the click to pose section, in addition to moving sections manually. You can get wavy hair or straight hair too.

She's very pretty! I like the nose a lot - it's more natural than many noses you see on characters in the Daz store.

It's a custom V4 character by one of the artists who does a lot of DAZ's prmo art.  There's multiple threads on this going back to slightly after the dawn of time (or just after the release of Victoria 4). Here's one of them:  http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/48757/  ; Quick version:  No, she's not for sale.

Thank you very much for your answer Cybersox13. Damn that's a shame she's not for sale. I' could've sworn she was really modelled after Chanel Westcoast and i hoped to find her somewhere between other lookalikes blush

  • Mai, Mai, Mai!

I don't think she looks anything like Victoria. She uses Karen and Eva morphs, along with G3F, and has elf and fantasy skin options. I do think she might have some Scarlett Jo going on though.

Downloading now, will do some renders this weekend.

  • Studio keeps deleting items from its library

Is there a way to get Daz Studio NOT deleting items from its library.  Just had to spend 20 minutes to download a series of shaders that should have been available right away.  This is really ticking me off!

I can understand why it does it with Aiko 3, Aiko 4, Victoria 4 and the rest of the older models but these are Iray shaders so they're decidedly in use NOW!

    Halina is beautiful!

I don't know if I'm going nuts or not, but I could have sworn there were stores in one of the sales that were removed, the two sales I was in were the Daz Massive Blowout and Let The Love Continue. As I said, these characters are eventually going to be featured here (as 98% of the things I buy are for the thread, I enjoy sharing it with you) so I bought them at these discounts to share them with you.  And you know me and liking natural, thicker eyebrows, so a few of these I wouldn't have normally bought. But that's my personal taste and others dislike those brows and love these kind, and it's nice to have variety. I was about to follow up with a post when the site went down for Maintenance, so now I can't say for sure about stores being in two different sales. See question, beginning of third paragraph.

First, the two new items to trigger: the Ravi Speedboat and First Bastion's Highland Lakeside Cabin and Dock. Love those two, and I think they go perfectly together. I mean, how else can you get to the dock from the water?  So two new releases from Let The Love Continue, doesn't have to be those two. Zeddicuss and Fred Winkler are both in that sale. Then in the Massive Blowout, with a new release (and you have two from Let the Love Continue) it was 50% off DO's, and they're already 58% off. I don't know how that was figured, but they dropped to $13.49 for me.

So here's the question- were there stores in the Massive Blowout sale that were removed during "Maintenance?"  If you want to test to see if it's still in effect though, put the two new releases I mentioned in your cart or two from the Love Continue sale, then test these. They are from FWSA and Zeddicuss. The Tween Julie, Lilith, and Monique are in the Blowout Sale for main DO figures. Let me know what you're seeing if you get a chance.

    Tween Julie 7    $13.49
    Monique 7    $13.49
    Lilith 7   $13.48
FWSA Tisha HD for Monique 7     $2.26
FW Sushmita HD for Victoria 7 and Her Jewelry   $2.51
FWSA Narkissa HD for Genesis 3 Female(s)   $2.51
FWSA Lorcan HD for Genesis 3 Male(s)    $2.27
FWSA Filia HD for Sunny 7   $2.26
FWSA Danny HD for The Guy 7    $2.51
FWSA Lexi HD for Rune 7   $2.76
Elisse HD for Victoria 7   $2.27
FWSA Camile HD for Bethany 7   $2.26
    Z Paradise - Poses for Monique 7 & Genesis 3 Female    $1.84

  • Debating (with prejudice) about moving up from Victoria 4

Thank you all so much for the input. From what I am seeing G2 will probably be my next Victoria. I am trying to to learn DS, and I will admit it is a pretty good program so far I discover how it works. Not to mention the price :o)  I tried to years back, but as I said it was so cluttered I gave up.. that is still something they could probably still improve on.. But it is a lot cleaner now, and I am sure it will continue to evolve. I think it's great Daz gives people a chance to enjoy 3D art without the costly price tag. Poser is pricey, and even now I am behind getting to the latest version because of that. Now since I am retired I am in the same boat as a lot of people as far as money to just toss around, so now I can truly appreciate the Daz gurus :o) I looked at some of the models stuff..and read the extras it needs.. but that is familiar from V4,, as in body / head morph stuff. I am pretty sure the essentials thing is already in DS for her. But I didn't see how to get just her.. seems you have to purchase a bundle for that. But anyways G2 Victoria appears to have gotten the most votes by many of you.

just found this magnificent thread on Celeb lookalikes. I was wondering if anyone can help me out with the character used for Goldtassel's flirtyhair promopic.  She looks so much like Chanel West Coast from Ridiculousness to me. Thanks already for anyone who can point me in the right direction :)

  • Is Carrara Still A Good Option

Dartanback: "But the ONLY reason I'm suggesting Daz Studio over Carrara is because you said you want to use Genesis 3, which is not compatible with Carrara"

I agree, and that is why I have stuck with Carrara and the Gen4 products, e.g. Michael 4, Victoria 4, the Kids 4, etc.   I have a very large collection of such products and am not eager to start replacing them, plus I had a poor experience with an early version of Daz Studio.  (From what I've read, the animation features of DAZ Studio are still not up to Carrara's.)  There are a LOT of Gen 4 products out there, e.g. just here at DAZ are 4,000 V4, 1500 M4 and 312 K4 products, and plenty more at other sites including lots of new products (not much new Gen4 here at DAZ).  I realize many call Gen4 "old" technology, but I still enjoy creating short animations like this, done in Carrara:

  • Is Carrara Still A Good Option

    Hi All,

I'm so new to the 3d world and environments thought I'd post this here as I see a sale on Carrara Pro 8.5 in the store.

As I've read on many forums and links that Carrara is behind other development efforts. That being said, just starting with Daz3d at end of

December, my content and models are of the Genesis 3, Victoria 7 model types. Sounds to me that a newbiew might get frustrated with export\import issues with newer models and functions. But, the price seems worth it. I just don't know with all the new models if it is something I want to spend time learning.

Heck, I'm not even sure of a good workflow yet. Daz to Carrara(sceens and all) ? etc. and back.

The question is it a good option at this time.  In the short timespan I've made a lot of progress.

    Thank you,

    Joseph

  • G3F "Anatomical Elements"

Just for clarification... my Girl 7 Pro Bundle and Guy 7 Pro Bundle has the gens that are required when Renderotica items require either:
     - Genesis 3 Male Genitalia from Daz3d Available only in the Micheal 7 Pro Bundle or
     -
Genesis 3 Female Genitalia from Daz3d Available only in the Victoria 7 Pro Bundle ?
I ask because alot of them say ONLY Micheal 7 Pro or Victoria 7 Pro.

All the adult pro bundles contain "anatomical elements" that are compatable with same gendered adult figures across that generation.

  • Debating (with prejudice) about moving up from Victoria 4

My favorite so far is Genesis 3/Victoria 7. But if there are going to be improvements and more realism added to the Genesis 4/Victoria 8 line I'm sure that will become my favorite, as I'm after as much realism as possible.

But the closer you come to realism, the less improvement there is room for, between each version. And we're already so close that in some cases it can be hard to tell if it's a render or a photo.

  • Debating (with prejudice) about moving up from Victoria 4

Anyone claiming that G4 (Victoria 8) comes out this Summer, unless they have insider information and leak it (which has the potential to cause sales damages to anything G3; just a thought to those who are spreading rumours as near-facts in regards to its release), no one outside of DAZ knows when there will be a G4/V8. Until then, anything coming from not official sources is just that - a rumour, which might be true, or not.

Umm No one is stating it as fact. And ANYONE can look at the release dates of the past three Victoria figures to come to the same ideas (V5 was released in October of 2011, two years later V6 was released in June of 2013, two years later V7 was released in June of 2015, and this June it will be two years since the release of V7) - as well as Daz's past comments that they would we working on trying to release the new figure lines on a two year time schedule.

So anyone can see in the Read Me of each of the V5, V6, and V7 figures the release dates and that they are, so far, on a two year release schedule. And again, it's just stating an educated guess. No one is stating it as fact that it will be out this summer, we're only stating that if you look at the past release dates and if they stick to the same time frame, it's likely they will release the new figure this year and likely this summer. Of course it's not a certainty, and I don't see anyone saying that it IS a certainty.
