Unable to login to DAZ application.
Like most, I tried to log in today to download the content I bought yesterday using Daz Central and can you believe it ~ it doesn't even recognise me. Like everyone here, I even changed my password (AGAIN!), and the very same happened. Tried logging into DIM ~ and guess what ~ the very same! I even tried to open Daz 3D after installing the latest update and you would never believe it ~ I can't even use it offline.
Come on Daz 3D ~ just what the hell is happening?
I was able to log in to the website ~ eventually. As exciting as your flash sale looks and however enticing the 65% off if you buy four items ~ if you can't download 'em or use 'em, as Amanda Lear once sang; Forget it!
PS. If anyone works out what we can do to fix this before Monday morning ~ Hollar and let me know. Thanks.
Can't log into Daz Studio or Daz Installation Manager .... incorrect passwordSame problem here. Could not log in on site or into Daz central, use the forgot password but still no goIinvalid login), but still get full access to my account info and activity. Funny my login gets rejected but still get site access, some security fixes needed here for sure. Daz seems to have a corrupted user database perhaps after the update?
Can't log into Daz Studio or Daz Installation Manager .... incorrect passwordyeah im having problems too, was logged off daz studio and daz central. Tried logging in and kept saying invalid username/password. Tried to reset password, no luck. I submitted a ticket...no response so far. I thought maybe my account got hacked...yet for some reason i'm still logged on in internet explorer. Tried other browsers and I also cant login. I hope I dont lose all my purchases, I would lose my mind.
not accept login and password"And you are using the same email and password as for the site itself? You don't have to log in - you can get your serial number from your account or from Install manager (via right-click) and enter it directly and you can install content through Daz Central/Install Manager."
So there is no value to have DAZ Studio log in?
Can't log into Daz Studio or Daz Installation Manager .... incorrect passwordHaving the same problem. The server will not accept my log in credentials on Daz Central, DIM, or Daz Studio.
Can't log into Daz Studio or Daz Installation Manager .... incorrect passwordDo you want to use DAZ Connect to install your products, instead of Central or DIM? Otherwise there is no reason to log in from Studio. To avoid it in the future, open the login dialog and remove your e-mail and password. Also go to Preferences->Startup and uncheck "Automatically Login with Remembered Credentials". PerttiA should be along any minute to give the standard spiel...
ETA: Ah, I see they've already been here...
Can't log into Daz Studio or Daz Installation Manager .... incorrect passwordIf you are using DAZ Central or DAZ Install Manager to install your content, you are better off not logging in to DAZ Studio, ever...
Logging in to DS is only needed when one has made an informed decision to use DAZ Connect inside DS as the primary means to install ones content, in which case there is no sense in using DAZ Central and/or DIM to installing content as all DAZ Connect installed content overrides content installed by all other means.
DAZ Connect inside DS is using completely different location for installing content, ie. one is installing content twice, taking twice the space if also using other means to install content.
Essential Makeup for G8Maybe I'm just slow, but I can't figure out how to use the shaders for [Essential Makeup for G8] this product. When I click one of the makeup designs, it comes out white. When I click a shader color, it stays white. I poked around the shader menus looking for where it might have made a new surface to apply the shader, but I didn't find it. Anyone know where these makeups "live" on a figure and how to change the color (and, ideally opacity level as well)?
On an additional note, is the authentication protocol not working? DAZ central keeps claiming my password is wrong, even after I changed it and entered the new one.
Installed but nowhere to be foundDid you have it installed with DIM and Daz Central at the same time? Did you uninstall one before installing another? Did you add Max to the "Installation" and "Applications" tab? You shouldn't use both Daz Central and DIM systems. Daz Central is a simplified version of DIM and therefore mostly targeting beginners. DIM is what an experienced user should use because of the numerous capabilities of it and being able to set custom paths. Using both will cause conflicts with the products and things can not work properly. I'm not a Max user so can't comment on the bridge but wanted to point out the "possible" issue(s). Can you possibly show a screenshot of your paths in DIM for us?
Installed but nowhere to be foundAny idea when this will work? I have tried everything. First, downloaded it from Daz store just to be sure. Next, check Install Manager advanced settings to ensure that the correct path is pointing to Max. Under the Installed tab, Daz to 3ds Max is installed. I uninstalled it and tried again. Daz Central states it is installed and gives me the option to Open but it does nothing. Last, Under Scripts, there is no option for it. Being that I work in Max, I could really use this.
I searched the forums, 3ds Max and Daz to 3ds Max Bridge but nothing came up. Youtube videos make it look so simple but I just don't have the script. How do I get this?
iray shader presetYou can change the location of the Connect library in Content Directory Manager, but I would not use the same folder as is used under DAZ Studio Formats.
Anyways, the Connect library is used for content installed within DS, and they have their own folder structure, so in no case they will be installed to the same locations that are used by the external installers (DAZ Central and DIM) or what's used for manual installation.
If you plan to install your content manually, or use the external installers, you are better off with not giving DS your login credentials to the DAZ site - Logging in to DS is only needed when one chooses to use the internal installer (DAZ Connect) within DS to install content.
Two libraries in Daz StudioOne is ther Daz central default, the other the Install Manager default - presumably you reset the paths at some stage. On Windows you can merge the two folders by drag and drop, but then the ,amifests will give the wrong location which may be a problem uninstalling (or installing an update that removes files).
Two libraries in Daz StudioHi Team, I have a weird issue in that recent items I have purchased are being installed via Daz Central to a different location than my initial Daz Library. This means I now have 2 "My Daz 3D Library" in my suite. When I open locations in Explorer I find that they are in 2 different folders, as illustrated in attached pic. This is only happening on my PC, on my Mac things are fine.
Whilst this is not a show stopper, it is a little annoying. Can this be rectified?
Thank you
Anatomical elements on adult G8 and G8.1 modelsHaving expressed my appreciation for Catty 8.1 in this thread, it turns out that I can’t get her "Male Anatomical Elements" to look normal and the usual parameter/morph sliders won't work (apart from one or two exceptions).on those genitalia.
Let me explain: Catty 8.1 like Nishi and Hans 8.1 and a few others has two types of anatomical elements:
01 Female Anatomical Elements
02 Male Anatomical ElementsOn applying the "Genesis 8 Male Genitalia" from the central Smart Content "Anatomy" section on the Catty figure, the (sometimes 'dreaded') "Auto-Fit" popup appears asking you "What figure was the item originally designed for?". It's obvious that according the system Catty is a female figure. Within the autofit dialog you (basically have to) choose "Genesis 8 Male" which results in the figure getting the "Genesis 8 Male Genitalia" node (so far so good) that you apply one of two "Male Gens" materials to from the Catty figure. However, the end result does not quite look like the usual "Genesis 8 Male Genitalia" (let's say it is anatomically odd) and like I said the usual parameter/morph sliders won't work (apart from one or two exceptions) on those male genitalia. Products like "Transgender Shapes for Genesis 8" and "Genesis 8 UV Swap: Male and Female Base" don't seem to have any impact on this particular problem.
My question: How do you get the "Male Anatomical Elements" to look 'normal' with a figure like Catty that pretty much uniquely have their own Male and Female Anatomical Elements?
How to restore or backup Categories?mikethe3dguy said:

Sounds like the database is messed up with bad references. You are probably just refreshing the bad data by re-categorizing. Too bad it can't be recovered, as far as I know. If you are going to do your categorization from scratch, I suggest maybe resetting the database, and re-importing the metadata. This will restore all the metadata from the Manifest Archive (all the installed stuff). Then try adding a few custom categories to see if they show up.
Re-importing gives you the option to include the UserData, which at this point is useless, it seems, so leave those out, if there are any.
ETA: Yes, this is the nuclear option...
Doesn't "reset database" require re-installing EVERYTHING... I mean: all content? How do you re-import metadata other than re-installing the content? Unless that's what you meant.
It depends how you install - through Daz Studio yes, a reset will wipe all reference to the products (though on reinstalling it should notice that the files are there and just validate them without redownloading) but through Install manager or Central no, the metadata fils are still there and can be read in with the reimport Metadata command in the same Content DB maintenance dialogue as the reset command.
Cannot find older Millenium Animals in my downloads sectionWhere are you looking for the products? DIM, Daz Central, Product Library?
Cannot find older Millenium Animals in my downloads sectionI can see mine under the products section in my account and they're listed in Daz central for download.
Did you have an older account or did you get them as freebies off a 3D World cover disk or similar?
I couldn't work out why I didn't have anything pre V3 listed until I realised the few items I had were give aways on disks.
Problem with smart content & male figuresIf you install through Install manager/Daz Central it may be enough to reinstall Genesis * (or whichever) Male Starter Essentials.
DazCentral won't install Daz studioSearch for Daz Install Manager (DIM) in the daz main site (please be sure it is the oficial), I suspect this issue with Daz Central is because windows update is installing some garbage in the background without notice and won't let your Daz Studio installation run it's course, If you already Installed daz central you won't even need to log-in again in daz Install manager, your antivirus will pop up for sure anyways saying that "it protected your machine" and "it belongs to and unknown editor" or something like that (my windows is in spanish), anyways, it's a false positive, just install it and then a small windows will pop up asking what you want to download, select all and you will see a detailed progress of downloads and instalations, good luck!
Daz Central will not launch content in Daz StudioI had a problem with my computer and did a full system restore (I keep most things on external HDs). Upon reinstalling Daz Studio and Daz Central, I used Daz Central to add my content back. When I select the item in Daz Central (which normally would launch Daz Studio to the content in smart content), it does nothing. The content opens fine if I manually launch Daz Studio and select the content from within the Smart Content panel. Thoughts? Ive uninstalled and reinstalled Daz Central and does the same thing. I never used to have this problem.
