What's in "Genesis 9 Character Essentials"?

i like separate male female characters. this is just adding steps. No morphs. Yes, there are asymetrical morphs ... but no facial/head or body adjustments...its all very basic I guess.
It leads to another train of products that need to be purchased, which atr this point in time, I'm not too sure this will happen for me.
I did install the essentials. The overall look is cool. the posing looks good. I guess from reading there are some eyebrow things missing or something, but I did try to add the brows that are in materials, but they just overlay the brows already there when you load the character, or the skin, which I think looks fine, 4k or not.
There may be some great additions to this product from previous characters, but overall its another character/figure, which tend to all look pretty much the same in a scene. Oh, I did apply some G8 hair and clothing. The fit was very good.Yes, well, this is how it has been done for every previous generation. It starts with the base figure which will soon be followed with commercial characters and various add-ons ranging from the head and body morph pack and other anatomical improvements to actual characters and clothing items - as well as third party converters. As far as I can recall anyway. The males usually follow the women by a half year to year so if you are looking for Michael 9 chances are it comes around next year. Admittedly with common base model we will probably see male characters earlier than that though they might be pushed further down the pipeline so there's extra male content to release at the same time. Before that it will be a collection of female characters to add into your library. At least we have some options using old content with autofit.
[Solved]Where can I learn to solve about unexpected stretch of fibermesh hair from ZBrush?Any object attached to an armature has to be weighted.
By transfering the Genesis rig onto your imported mesh, Daz did its best to also transfer the weighting of Genesis vertices onto your mesh vertices.
But as good a job as Daz's Transfer Utility does, there is always vertices weighting to do. This is the same in any other 3D app. Especially in areas such as crotch or armpits where there is a shared influence from multiple adjacent bones.
After rigging any mesh to any armature, second part of the job is weighting. Which vertices move with which bone ? Are my mesh's vertices influenced by a bone only, or more than one? How strong is the influence of each bone ? etc.
- Select your mesh in the Scene Tab, select the Weight Brush Tool (Alt+Shift+W)
- Go down the bones list for your mesh until you reach Chest upper, maybe chest lower, Left Collar, Left Shoulder Bend, etc. Basically any bone in the mesh's area.
- If you go to the Tool Settings Tab you'll see, in the Weight Maps Tab : General Weights. Select that and you can now see the inluence (red/blue) of your selected bone on vertices.
- Use the Weight Brush Tool and all its different functions to solve the problem, by assigning the proper influence from the proper bones.
P.S : If your hair are not all attached to a common base mesh hidden in the body, you might suffer a bit with weighting. And prefer Weighting tools such as Directional Gradient, or Sphere Gradient (I tried once and didn't manage, yet, to make those work so far, so I can't really advise).

Genesis 9 Body shapes and Genesis 9 Head Shapes are still at the prohibitive high price for non-PAs. When will they be available at a reasonable cost?
Compare the list with the list in Genesis 9 Starter Essentials. Assuming that is right and not a mis-copy it looks as if we are getting the morph-pack equivalents free (I have sent in a query to double-check).
Sorry, the morph list is much shorter - I was thrown by the other items in the list or something.

I've been messing around with custom morphs in ZBrush and the figure is much easier to work with than G8 for me. I haven't tried making a bigger character yet, but this is Victoria 9 with ZBrush morphs and I gave her a significantly bigger waistline and a bigger belly. There was a little bit of the usual folding when a character doesn't have a corrective morph for unusual shapes, but it was much easier to smooth out. That's fantastic @plasma_ring!! Thank you for sharing

Acutally, the shape looks really natural. I have a feeling -- just from the introduction we've had so far -- that our figures in this generation will look more natural overall -- better proportions, better bending and flexing, less exaggerated features (e.g. breast size). I'm really excited for this!

[Solved]Where can I learn to solve about unexpected stretch of fibermesh hair from ZBrush?I have bought ZBrush to use fibermesh hair.
And I successfully have sent fibermesh hair to DAZ using GoZ.
The fibermesh hair stretches following morph of parent figure as intended using Transfer Utility.
However, it troubles me with extreme stretching following pose of parent figure.
When G81M raises his arm, his fibermesh armpit hair breaks.
I have tried to find solution about this issue, but I could not do it well.
Could you teach me where can I learn to solve about unexpected stretch of fibermesh hair from ZBrush?

I also have the issue that I can’t download the items from the pre-order bundle. I also created a ticket about it. But judging from the posts here it seems that it is a general issue.
Does anyone understand the policy behind the Body Morphs? In the past it was possible to get body morphs to adjust your figures body shape, or to make it look older, or younger. The corresponding packages came for round about US$20.00 each. But for Genesis 9 I only found merchant resource packages at costs of US$ 9999.95 each!
Is this right? Do they no longer allow common users to modify the characters they bought? Do we have to live with just what merchants will provide us?
If so, then I wonder if the people at DAZ are still living on the same planet as I.
No, they just haven't released the standard morph packages yet. Those have always been optional anyway and were never required for the basic morphing functionality to work. Also modifying these characters is their primary functionality, so this is a pretty wild scenario regardless.
These packages are for commercial vendors to create characters to sell, we mere mortals are waiting for the standard packages, that we assume are coming, to drop.

Are there any Morphs for G9 yet, body and head morphs they usually come out at release.
The official Daz morphs aren't out yet, but there's a Zeddicus morph/pose pack on the main sales page.

Guys, V9 and the Genesis 9 figure are great. Victoria 9 is like Victoria 8.1 on steroids, and do you see how beautiful and natural the arm bend is on just the base figure?!
Eh, they look good but I'm just wondering how well they will hold up when you dial in big characters like the Brute and Swole - which hopefully will make their way to Gen9 as well, seeing that I do use those characters a lot. I mostly do fantasy themed renders as opposed to contemporary and realistic ones (for that I can always step out into the real world...). Gen8 had problems even with big but still realistic bodybuilder type characters. Especially if you were to get, say, a good bicep flex.
I wonder if they managed to resolve the problem with big bellied characters and bends, too. Real bellies just don't behave the way they currently do if you bend character forward... though I guess this would require soft body dynamics rather than just being something you can fix with good bends.
Yeah, those are really great examples of specific cases that have been a problem in the past. I'm hoping since the bends are really well done out of the box for this generation that it means they function better in general. Definitely look forward to seeing how they work with more unusual characters and body types. I hope you will test it and let us know soon, either with something custom or once some of the bigger characters (as you said -- hopefully) do make their way to Gen9.

Great VIP treatment! I ordered during the original stream event. Never again.
Same. And no morph packs for Genesis 9 yet, either. Disappointing.
Genesis 9 Coming Soon! Preorder Victoria 9 HD TodayThat bundle sure is underwhelming...
1 hair (a very nice hair, but only 1)
3 outfits but none of them useful for day to day casual wear looks. Gotta buy the OOT set if you want that. (The OOT clothes are pretty good though)
1 pose set that is well done (it's Zeddicus after all!) but is fairly specific.
Some makeup which may be useful.
Some expressions which are nice.
No other characters. Not sure on the status of anatomical elements. No casual outfits. No morph packs.
And, of course, I show as having purchased the bundle but none of the items in it show as purchases and I can't download anything. I guess I'll give it a couple of hours and see if it fixes on its own before turning in a ticket.AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?
Dopo cena provo a creare il primo morph.. vediamo come va.Genesis 9 Character Essentials - Woman figure not included ?!?The figure is an in-beteween between the male and female shape. Go to the shaping tab, there should be a slider for the male/female morph.
Daz3d custom morph issueHi to all. I have problem with custom morph for genesis 8 female characther. Empty morph make small but not accepted influence on whole model. I importing base genesis 8 figure to Blender, not making any changes, exporting figure back to Daz studio as morph, and when I change morph influence it destore whole figure mesh a bit. I add vidio of issue. Can anybody give advice how to avoid it?

Genesis 9 doesn't support G8 and G8.1 poses ; expressions ; a lot of outfits are bugged too ... oh nevermind this is "normal" I guess
The G8 and G8.1 breast and glute morph neither ... NOOOO ! T.TDuring the first presentation of Victory9 Jay showed that Gen9 has a totaly different bone structure, with various bones named differently. You need some tools to apply older poses to gen9. Jay stated that ManFriday is worlking on such a tool, and I know that RiversoftArt is also creating such a tool.
