Well, the fact that they are throwing in the Vic 5, 6, and 7 pro bundles with the Vic 8 pro bundle (apparently I already have all of the Vic 5 pro bundle stuff, I seem to remember that being a freebie at some point), makes The Vic 8 Pro Bundle (at over 50% off) look very attractive...

It's a nice deal for those of you who don't have them; BUT not much of an incentive for us loyal Victoria buyers who already have all her Pro bbundles.

I'll have to see what's new with this figure (feet and fingers looks interesting). Smile lines seem to actually work. But I really don't like the Victoria 8 look. Also, if it's not a T-pose, that's gonna be a pain for game engines that default to T-pose. Yes, you can lock rotations, but none of the morphs or JCM's will export properly. At least, not easily.

Male base figures usually come out a few months after the female. 

As for the G3/G8 skin issue, I loaded Victoria 7 skin onto G8F without a problem. I think they use the same UV, but don't quote me on this.  

This is the ugliest Victoria yet, she seems to get less femine and more masculine with each version. And some of the promos are downright creepy looking. This is an easy pass. I'll be saving a lot money this year.

Genesis 3 skins work on the new gal too apparently. I sure do like the sound of that :P

Is this true? If so I'm in :) Surprised that's not mentioned on the main promo.

All skins based off Genesis 3 Base UVs will work fine, other UVs (Victoria etc) will need some adjusting.

New Daz released  yesterday has some Iray settings that Victoria 8 uses, so update is in order for her to look properly. There's been bug fixes in that release too.

Essentials have the base, some basic clothing and hair, and poses.

 

Bra, panties, shorts, tanktop... hair is good'ol Touloise hair. And oh, materials for base of course.

Soooo, Victoria 8 and some of the other characters in the sale today require Genesis 8.  I'm not seeing a Genesis 8, just some morphs and addons for Genesis 8.  Victoria 8 is based on Genesis 8, but the 'link' to the Genesis 8 base figure isn't a link, just text.

How do I get Genesis 8?

Look into your product library (search: genesis 8), you will see essentials available for download, base is free for all.

to get the free pro bundles of victoria 5, 6 and 7 you have to go through the store and add them to your cart with v8 pro I already had 7 pro but didn't have 5 and 6 pro had most content so never bought them but free oh yeah oh think there's a stacking deal too add pro plus the head and body morphs and the daz expressions and prices went down more haven't finalized yet so tempted with a lot of the other stuff too trying to thing yes no later want all and my head is going crazy will michael 8 offer all this too, my current price is $83.86 also used my pc+ $6 daz original coupon 

for @jakiblue and my other fellow aussies just checked out with above and in our money came to $114.46 remember used $6 coupon too gotta get ready for work soon hopefully not a long night cleaning hopefully they weren't messy in the surgeries so I can play with her when I get home

So hello Victoria 8!  Quite a nice thing to see. And it wasn't a Tuesday release, it was a Thursday. They were smart to name it Genesis 8, that Genesis 4 and Generation 4 would have been a nightmare.

I think backward compatible means "autofit" as it says clones included. But not positive. Waiting for someone to start the offical Victoria 8 thread.

I like the idea of skipping to 8. Genesis is a unisex figure. I think a different name should have been considered when they decided to do gendered versions for 2 and 3. It muddies the waters and gets confusing, as others have pointed out.

 But if they had done that, DAZ wouldn't have been able to continue running ads promoting "Victoria" as the world's most popular cg figure with an image of V5. 

You might not understand what I meant. They could have given the female and male Genesis 2 and 3 figures a name instead of Genesis, while keeping the Victoria and Michael naming designations. Genesis could have stayed just Genesis.
