Also, thanks to everyone that liked my render! I'm going to attempt a fantasy render next I think but I'm unsure how to make it look. I'm horrible with open skys and

trees, always looks fake when I attempt it.

Thank you. The lighting was a bit of work but Jack's awesome setting inspired me to put a bit more work into it than I normally would. lol

As for the backgrounds, if you find they tend to look "fake" add a camera and turn on "Depth of Field" to it. That will blur the background and give it more of a natural or more realistic look.

hahah Yeah, I enjoy back lighting and/or rim lighting. Rim lighting is one of my favorites - adds a little bit of "drama", IMO. 

..ugh cannot deal with the embedded images while on m the mobile app as they are stretched way out of proportion.  Please use attachments.

...yeah I notice attachments are not an option.  The mobile app is pretty weak in several areas. For one, we can't insert  paragraph breaks by just adding another line which makes for huge blocks of text that are difficult to read. To create a paragraph break you need to "code" it into your text. which on a phone is a real bother as you have to toggle back and forth between screens to insert the symbols.to bracket the code.  This is why I try to keep the posts I make on my phone as short as possible.

Now that I can see it full size and in the proper aspect ratio, lovely image.

Yes - the mobile needs a lot of work, IMO. When I'm on my Ipad it gives me a headache trying to navigate the forum images and post.

I set up some scenes and some shader settings for you guys if you want them. You can download it here: http://sta.sh/01hgve7g4h6y   -After downloading it, extract the file then drop the file in your My Library folder. You should then be able to find the scenes and the skin shader settings under "My Library" >> "Scenes" >> "Divamakeup - Skin and Light Settings"

Included in the file are three scenes with 3 different lighting settings and 3 different skin shader settings. I've also included just the skin shaders separately if you just want to load those instead of the full scene with the lighting settings. 

The first and second scene is of Genesis 8 Female and I've only included what everyone with G8F should already have. Scene 1 includes G8F Skin Settings 1 and lighting with a subtle hand painted HDR. Scene 1 looks like this:

The third scene is of Victoria 8 and includes skin shader settings for Victoria 8 (so scene 3 requires Victoria 8 to work properly). It looks like this:

Oh possibly, but not a major sales *event*. 

Next week is a bit early for our 2nd G8F character base, but then, Victoria 8 turned up a week earlier than anyone was expecting.

So I bought Lydia HD for Victoria 7 on the day it came out.  She rendered nicely to me and looked like the promo images for the product.  I noticed no problem whatsoever.  About 2 weeks ago, there was an update (although nothing is noted on the Read Me page for this product), so I updated because it showed up in DIM.  Today I tried to use her for the first time since the update and well...let's just say she didn't look like the 3D girl I fell in love with.  She looked like a totally different character.  What's more, she had quite a protruding belly and bigger hips. Even her face didn't resemble the promo images. WTF happened?  Can someone who bought her when she first came out on 6/13 and rendered her before the update 2 weeks ago see if you get the same issue as me with the updated file?  I had to do uninstall the new file and delete it.  Luckily I had a back up of the first file, so I re-installed that one again and all is good.  But I mean, come on, DAZ, what did you do to the sweet girl?

V8 Head morph seems okay.

Is it possible that autofitting is working properly on victoria 8, but not the base G8 figure I am using?? Could somebody be so kind and test that?

Other way round — Autofit is supposed to go from Genesis(whatever) to Genesis8. Once you have the converted clothes in G8 format, the morph for V8 will be automatically generated. Skipping the convert-to-G8 step adds extra complications if you ever want to use the converted clothes on the G8 characters that haven't been released yet.

FWIW, I've converted a lot of clothes for Genesis3 using Autofit, and I always used a plain, unposed, and unmorphed G3F or G3M. I don't think I ever had a problem.

One possible gotcha, are you just autofitting the older clothes then saving the scene containing the clothes and G8F, or are you saving the clothes as a new Support Asset? If you do that, it gives you new saved content that can be used on any G8F base figure or character.

Specifically, I need hair based on large gemetric shapes, not based on layered strands or with lots of transmaps. Reason being: The older hair looks better with the Live Comic Book Preview in Poser 11. Strand-based hair is very hard to adjust and look good. I am making strides with it, but I would like to dig deeper in the archives and see if there are any good resources out there.

EDIT: I can also work with "Toon Hair," that has larger geometry. This image was made with the hair for The Girl 4.

Last year, I also paid TerryMcG to create a custom costume for me. I paid him $250 to create a costume for my character, Ultra. I created this character back when I was in high school in the 1980s (yup, I'm old), and I couldn't be more pleased with his communication during the project, and the results. There was an initial fitting problem, which he resolved quickly and professionally.

I paid for:

• Boots (black stripes had to be done with geometry and material zones)
• Shorts
• Belt
• Shirt (including the lacing at the neck)
• Bracelets
• Vest (includes open/swing morphs for each side)
• Mask (these are the same as his Ms. Marvel mask, so he included two types: open se we see the eyes, and a closed version with white lenses)

Outfit is for Victoria 4 (that's the only figure I think he works with) and he even provided two texture sets (an orange top and the version you see here). For this image, I actually scrapped his texturesand just used Iray silk and leather shaders.

So far, I've only done a few test renders with the character, but plan to create a few comic book pages with her, hopefully soon.

Note: This was just a test scene, so I used a standard scene that I bought and put her into it.

I see Daz ads all the time on the forum for my local football team, mostly for Victoria. She seems oddly out of place there for a variety of reasons and was last spotted only this morning, half-covered in vines and lurking at the bottom of a thread full of panic-stricken fans asking why we still haven't signed a new keeper when the start of the next season is just weeks away. She'll find herself in goal if she's not careful.

I've noticed that Facebook serve up a lot of ads that are more relevant to some of my friends than they are to me. Perhaps they think they've got more chance with 'your friend is interested in this so you could be too' than with showing ads for things I've likely already bought. Not so, as it's my sister-in-law and her hubby that are dentists not me and so I've not the slightest interest in dental surgery equipment, but I suppose it was a comfort to know that when my other sister-in-law was splitting from her husband she'd probably been searching for a divorce solicitor and not a hitman!
