I really like the VIctoria 8 model.  The model is very good and is supported by many third party morphs.   I found the Genesis 8 series very easy to work with to get great results.  Here are some of my Genesis 8 models.

Some PA's make some good loking characters. But the initial DAZ releases were not. Victoria 8 and Olympia 8 come to mind. I mean, Victoria 8 doesn't even look human.

 

I think she looks great, and avoids any anime influences (mainly large eyes). She looks very human.

I've been using Genesis 3 for a long time and I'm very happy with all the models/poses/clothes for G3. But when it comes to G8 everything seems to be great, poses and clothes, except for the models !! With all due respect all the G8 female models are just average to bad. Is it because G8 features and/or structures? I'm trying to find one to buy but I don't find a good enough looking model.

Is this just me? seriously I want to know because this is going on forever and I hate it.

If you want to enlighten us about your personal taste please be so kind to explain what exactly you are missing in G8F. 'Good looking' can be anything from Nefertiti to Donatella Versace. But maybe by 'good looking' you mean Barbie and other bland plastic types...

Before you get Victoria 8, you need to make sure that you have downloaded and installed the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials. Those will be in your account in your Product Library; the link should take you to them.

I wanted to emphasize that because the starter essentials should have answered your question about the default pose, so I wasn't sure you'd downloaded those. Without that, Victoria 8 won't work.

Those "models" you find so unappealing are just morphs/shapes
of the base figure made by someone other than yourself.

It is best to buy as many morphs packages as you can find, and 
manipulate the sliders until you get a satisfactory result that meets your
personal standards

I rarely Buy "characters" except for a few unique/exceptional males Like Ivan HD and George HD.
However Daz studio has many built in tools to change the figure appearence to your liking
 Do the work.

I totally agree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. By using morph products and putting in the time, you will be able to spin your own custom characters that will scratch your digital itch, if you will. And, as a plus, your creations will mirror your own creative worldview!

That is true, btw, for every single generation of DAZ figures, be it Aiko3, Victoria 4, or any of the various Genesises.

 

Sinr the love cense is still there for Victoria pro bundle maybe Monique page is an error

My first guess was someone forgot to add it but they missed two items while the base one was added correctly. It's possible but less likely they miss two. 440 would also fit to the other "we don't want small indie developer" prices they have now.

Wonder if they take it away if a bundle. I know Victory pro is on sale for around 40 and the licnese was still there if you paid around 33 (with discounts and PC+). With Monique pro being less than 30 and starter less than 20 Daz does not include the license with them

it's official, Monique is the figure to get me started using G8, LOL. I was relunctant since I really was heavily invested into G3 and happy with what I had. I even bought Victoria 8 and a few hairs and clothing on sale for when i did decide to use her and then along came Monique (and Imani!!!) and my will crumbled. Finally installed DS4.10, installed the G8 figures, my sparse G8 content. Used the Singular Blues script to bring over a few of my custom and Genx morphs to G8 and now I have a good starting point.

I really like what they have done with Monique 8 and especially love the Imani skin. Here is my first render with G8, Monique, Imani and a few other morphs thrown in the mix.

I just bought Michael 6 pro, Giselle 6 pro, stephanie 6 pro, Aiko 6 pro, teen josie 6 pro and teen jayden 6 pro, all of that for 30$ !!! (instead of 800).

There are also Victoria 6 pro, Lilth 6 pro and others, pricing 4,89$ instead of 135$

I think promo is ending today so if you like G2 and don't already have those characters, run!

Thank you! I've been under a rock writing the past two weeks. I won NaNo, but still have 9 more chapters to go in my book. Hoping to have it to the editor some time next month. I took a breather this weekend to finally pick up Monique 8 and do some renders, plus some holiday cooking. Then it's off to finishing up the hair tutorial and the book! And then getting ready for Christmas! Wow. Hard to believe there are only a few more weeks left in 2017!

Finally took the plunge to pick up the gorgeous Monique 8. I thought Monique 7 was incredible. I didn't know how they could improve on her, but they did. Monique 8 is absolutely stunning. I love the Laverne add-on character, and the hairs that come in the Pro pack are very good. The only thing I'm not wild about are the makeups on the main Monique 8. You can't mix and match the eyes and lips. Everything is lumped together in one preset. Laverne's are fine, and I have yet to try Alondra's, but they look like the usual setup- makeup and lips separate. 

Here's Monique 8 teaming up with Giuseppe for Lucas 8 to fight bad guys in kind of a "Miami Vice 2018" thing. I used Extreme LIE Makeup for G3F here on her. She's wearing Miranda Hair and Bad Girls Textures for Supersuit. It was too revealing, so I added Fabiana's Sheer Shaders (Rendo) to her body to give the look of an undersuit. This image looks dark against the light forum background. (Click the pics for much larger images and better viewing.)

Here's FW Laverne HD with AprilYSH's gorgeous Pascale Hair. It's my new favorite. She's standing in The Streets of Tuscany and wearing Dance of the Veils by Jepe.

In Carrara, I prefer to use the older characters.  They are actually less resource-intensive, with a richness in features that is underestimated (IMO).

I'm wondering what's the difference between these models, not only Victoria but the new "8" models, how they are different from 7? Do they have a higher polygon count? Are they using the same rig? I am wondering which one to buy now.
