    Hi everyone!

Now I have tried everything but I can't get my contents to work........

I'm trying to install Victoria 7 and 8 plus several female characters for Genesis 3. I have tried the install manager, I have tried manual install and lots of other ways.

I've also checked out tutorials on youtube, read threads here etc..

Please help! What am I doing wrong????

I am using Daz studio 4.10. I've tried draging the folders into my daz library in the public documents folder. but nothing shows up in the program. And the install manager don't see the files when I put them in the downloads folder eighter..

Any help is much appreciated! <3 <3 <3

  • Teen Josie 8

Age of a 3D figure is open to interpretation, both by the artist and the viewer. If you're considering using her as a petite adult for x-rated renders, be aware that someone, somewhere will cry "pedo" because there are some people who have never met an adult female with the body of a 12 year old. As such, they consider these to be mythical creatures, like bigfoot and honest politicians.

    laugh

Seriously, it's obvious that a pile of pixel can't have an age and the interpretation is more than open for all... but just to have a point of reference I still think the author should write any number about the age of the character.

I feel stupid also for just talking about this but if someone say "she looks like a child" I dunno what to reply and it's not good.

Her texture would be based off an adult, so theoretically no problems there. Her body really isn't different from any adult petite body morph in the store. But she's based off a Thorne character (Josie), and Thorne characters tend to look more childlike because they have large eyes, pouty lips, and large heads. So if you wanted to age her while still keeping her face recognizable, first try dialing the head a bit smaller to make it more proportional to a human adult, then scale the eyes down a mite and make the lips a bit thinner.

She looks passable as an adult to me, though, I don't see a huge difference between her face and say, Brooke or Danny. If you require character morphs like her that are clearly sold as adults I would suggest the P3D and FW catalogs.

The really hard thing about saying "this character is X age" is there are so many ways to change them. Maybe Josie is sixteen, how old is half Josie, half Victoria?

  • Which DAZ Genesis 8 M/F characters are the most realistic/beautiful?

So let's do a little test. And I'm not gonna mention my own characters because I think it's kinda lame, avertising in disguise or something. Do you find any of these realisitic, beautiful, or both?

    https://www.daz3d.com/uchenna-for-genesis-8-female

To bad you don't talk about your own ... I thought I already pointed out that Lyra HD for Genesis 8 was one of the favorites on DAZ's site that I own.  I also own Lainey for V8 that I bought as a result of a previous recommendation.. I love the morph for it and the skin is right up with the best for realism... My wife even said your character looked "Very realistic" while it was rendering for this test render.   Thanks for making a great looking character and I love how you made the make up a "LIE" option so I could use it on other characters.
It's possible you may have miscontrued me saying that I have not found "the best of the best" at this site as saying that I don't like any of the characters which is far from the truth...  I happen to already own 26 female Genesis 8 characters... so if I purchase any more.. I'm trying to make certain that they are the 'best of the best' since I have already have plenty of variety.
As to the other two... they look great although but I probably wouldn't buy them since I have been fooled too many times by great looking promotional renders and I'll wait until I see a couple of recommendations and a render using it...

  • MimicMolly's Renders & WIPs

I don't even remember what shapes I used for the female character. When it comes to Genesis 1, I just go for it and make something random on the go. Her skin texture is Monique 8, which has quickly become my favorite Genesis 8 texture. So it makes me happy that I can use it on Genesis 1. X3 Hair is from Cat Character and Hair, and the outfit is Loissandra Fantasy Outfit for Genesis 2 Female(s), which sadly didn't autofit well with this character. (It's why I used the String Bikini for Victoria 6 for the bottoms in the main render.) Her bracers and boots are from Journeyer Scout for Genesis.

  • How do i "lock" multiple layer components of the genesis body forms?

This https://www.daz3d.com/anatomy-4-pro-bundle ? It's not for genesis, and although the skeletons and organs can be AutoFitted to Genesis they will distort. The set does include the Victoria and Michael base figures (and morphs) which are what the skeleton and organs are designed to work with - you can then fit the extras to the figure and when you pose the figure the skeleton/organs will follow. To fit the items, select them and use the Fit to button in the Parameters pane or right-click and select Fit <name> to, then pick the base figure in the dialogue.

I hate to tell you this but that has been the way it is for as long as I have been in this hobby.  There was a reason Victoria had male morphs back in the day.

nice and like how the clothing forms around her very natural

Thank you.  The clothing is Saree for Genesis 8 Female and Victoria 8.  The skirt has some problems with this pose and I had to adjust it, but it mostly does not show in the image.

  • Upgrade to V4 from V8?

I'm debating whether to upgrade to Victoria 8 from Victoria 4.  I have all sorts of stuff for V4, including the body suit and expansion, a ton of clothes, and the body morphs.  If I upgrade to V8, am I going to find that I can't use a bunch of my items with V8?  Or, is it truly just an upgrade with some cool added features?

  • ZDG random Daz Studio discoveries and questions.

Some more testing of dForce. I did not spend hours adding surface zones and re-rigging the outfits. I simply added the dForce dynamic thing to the dress (skirt and shirt) and went from there.

From left to right is Fwsa Yulia and her Christmas dress with a Christmas texture set ("DG Iray Holiday Fabrics"? sku 35993?), Then FW Eve with Ghawazee skirt and shirt, Then Fwsa Paloma with her dress (with custom mats and Egypt sandless), then Fwsa Sandy with a kit-bash outfit (Ghawazee shirt with custom mats , and Mucho Flow skirt). For the most part, it went smoothly, only the Mucho skirt (Skirt waist) and Paloma's dress (neck trim) needed an upper zone set to not be dynamic (Dynamic Strength = 0) to keep the items from just falling off the figure. And the Ghawazee skirt with 'Friction' set to "0.10" for the kneeling pose.

Things did not go so smoothly for Wachiwi, and I'm not sure if it is the knot geometry or a setting that caused the knot to start to hover up (and nothing else), ...

followed by the geometry exploding, and ultimately...

BLU-OO-OO-OO SCREE-EE-EE-EEN (OCTV). well, a crash that required restarting the computer for anything dForce to function after that. Simply deleting Wachiwi and all the outfit items from the scene didn't cut it, dForce ceased to function after that till I restarted the computer. I've seen similar before in the former version of Studio, there may be something to that,  possibly. Despite all that, the Wachiwi outfit did not just vanish,  , lol.

I can see how simply testing something that works can be a drag for PA's, the dForce simulation is incredibly slow to run and it is shader and core limited with what it is willing to use (it does not use all the CPU cores, nor all of the GPU either). Also if the outfit crashes dForce, the PA then need to save the state everything is at in all the open programs and restart the computer just to be able to get dForce working again, making diagnosing what is broken a major PITA.

FYI, that other thing is the EATX/SSI-MEB compatible"Define ZDG" workstation project "full tower" draft.

The height may change some for the final thing, tho the component placement is going to be just that. An EATX mobo tray with 9 not 7 PCI slots, 4 internal 140mm fans to move air set up in a dual-camber-band-pass woofer box with sound-dampened pannels, etc, etc, etc.

Do you think that's an iRay problem?  I don't think eyes have to be the problem in DS.  Given the right textures, I think its an artist's problem.  But hair? Yeah.  No hair system in DS.  Polygon hair sucks.

No Iray is not the problem in my view.
The Daz eye geometry seems to lacks a certain
corneal bulge that maks them look flat and fake
and the lower lids lack that wet rim.
they scream DAZ/ POSER and this had not changed
much since the day of the millenuim figures.

Not that she is uber "photo realistic" but
Here is a random "regular" young girl
    from a another sites gallery,
next to one of the official promo pics
from the victoria 8 pro bundle.

Sorry daz...but NOTHING about V8's eyes look even close
real to me ..it is ike the difference between a "Final Fantasy" and a "Shrek"
    character.
and when you compound that with the 1990's poser transmapped
painted hair strips that look even more rubbish in silouette,  you see the folly
people trying to use stock Daz content in the fanciful pursuit of "photorealism".

Ooh. Eyes! I can talk your ears off about eyes (and if you ever visited the iray skin thread I already have)

As mentioned there is a cornea bulge morph and the lower tear surface has been there in some form for pretty much all the generations. The only *real* difficulty with eyes in iray IMO is the inability to make a material not cast shadows (this is a feature I would absolutely love, but it is rather out of daz's hands) so if you set the eyes to refract properly there can be some shadowing issues (I'll also note that I prefer g3's eye setup to g8's if I'm honest)

That said I think I've gotten eyes in studio far closer to you first example than the V8 promos (not to toot my own horn but I like my eyes better than your specific example which doesn't appear to have much sss in the sclera, though of course I've seen more realistic examples than my offerings elsewhere)

To put my money where my mouth is here are 2 renders where I think the eyes turned out *quite* well:

And yes the only difference geometry wise is the cornea bulge morph and an iris depth morph.

A cover for one of my comic books. If I remember right It's just a genesis model with a metal shader for skin. The picture is then run through a filter forge filter. I can't remember which one because I lost my notes over the years. I think it started with a G.

EDIT: Other than that filter and the composition of the various elements, no postwork.

EDIT 2: Here's a sample from inside the book. Yup, thats some Victoria 4 action going on there!

    thanks :)

Can anyone place MRL Brienne for me? She's definitely reminding me of someone, I know Mihrelle usually does look a likes, and it's driving me batty!

Save me, Look-a-like thread. You're my only hope.

She mildly reminds me of Katheryn Winnick, actually rings like two characters from Vikings TV show, Lagertha and her gf Astrid (with shorter hair). Whole promo set rings like something inspired by the show to me.

Not sure if mentioned but pretty obvious, Norman Reedus/Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) is Willis: https://www.daz3d.com/willis-bundle
