HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)
A point of interest from previous installations that haven't worked, I've deleted all the files and folders I can find for headshop, but when I reinstall and add a picture, it automatically navigates to the folder where my photo is stored. Something is obviously still there from the first installation but I can't find where. I have a sneaky suspicion that wherever this file is, it's holding some data that is being transferred onto each new install and preventing it from working.
I was excited to see the product in the store.....then I read the responses here.
It appears that if you do not have a default install of DS, it will not work correctly. If the only way to make it work is to move your DS install to where the plugin expects to find it, the plugin needs to be fixed.
It appears that if you use a UHD (4k) monitor, you have to alter your screen resolution or it won't display correctly. This needs to be fixed.
Requiring your customers to re-arrange their installations and change their display settings to fit your product, is backwards.
I will NOT be picking this up now, as I both run on a 4k monitor, and have my install on a different drive than the default. MANY PCs are now using a SSD as a boot/OS drive, and programs/data are on other drives. And 1440p and 2160p monitors are becoming the norm. Expecting your customers to just 'do it your way' is not the way to get their business.
IF (or when) this is updated to handle non-default installation paths and dynamically build the dialogs to work with higher-resolution displays, THEN I will consider picking it up. But not before.
I can assure you that the installer is not rocket science. To make a flat-out statement that only DAZ installers work is wrong and there are a huge number of customers that have installed it correctly. I agree that it would be better to have a DAZ installer, but it is up to DAZ to create one, which they could not do this time around. Good luck.
I'm certain that it's true, the installer is not rocket science, but only if certain conditions are met, such as Daz being installed on drive C, but these conditions are not made clear, and once its failed to install, it seems nigh on impossible to fully delete and install correctly.
The offer of one to one Skype support is great, however I don't have a webcam, nor a microphone, and I'm certainly not purchasing either to fix an issue that shouldn't be an issue.
I had high hopes for this product, but so far I'm just bitterly disappointed.
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)Hey all
Is anyone getting the errors: One or more of the files had no effect or An unexpected error while creating the morph
Both take place after clicking export and getting the successful popup from Headshot. I just got off skype their support and varified everything installed correctly and I was doing it right. So got to be some strange issue
OK, the issue is that HeadShop creates temp files at two given locations:
Location 1: Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/Abalone/HeadShopShop
Location 2: Users/Public/Public Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Runtime/FaceShop/fsPlease check that the locations are there and that you have the temp files.
THose files are there but looking at the log I found
Monday, November 28, 2016 9:46:56 PM 383 Error Can't load obj model 'C:\Users\nmarg\AppData\Roaming\Abalone\HeadShop\TempProject\OBJ\hair.obj'
If I go to that location the folder OBJ is empty
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)I also get the same errors of "files had no effect" and another popup saying that "there was an unexpected error" after the popup saying that Headshop was succesful. I checked the locations of the temp files as suggested, making the assumption (probably erroneously) that it is a typo in .../Abolone/HeadShopShop, and found .../Abollone/HeadShop. The other directory exists, although it is on a diferrent drive. To make sure, I created the directory structure under /Public. In the test the program used the correct location, so both temp directories exist and are being used. Still getting the error. In the previous post, which I see the picture of the popups did not post correctly, the log file states something about a problem with the number of vertices. Not sure if that is accurate or not. Anything else that I can check to help clarify either the installation or operation please let me know. I am looking forward to using this product. I am amazed at the tutorial videos and others' posts.
Thanks for a great product. Hope to get it working soon.

HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)I thought maybe headshop is looking for the genesis 2 character in C drive, so added a Daz content folder in the C drive and installed genesis 2 starter essentials there, and hid my main content from view by renaming it and removing from the Daz directory, no change. Daz Model Still Not Found.
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)Ok. So I've uninstalled Daz, both the pro and public beta from G drive, deleted everything I could find related to daz from every drive except my runtime folder (which at almost 120GB is certainly not going to fit on my C drive) and have done a complete fresh install of daz (not public beta), and followed the headshop install to the letter, double checked all files and folders are in the correct place, launched daz, verified the plugin as working, loaded g2f, launched headshop, added a photo.....
Daz Model Not Found!
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)I have checked and double checked my installation, all appears to be exactly as the video shows with the exception of my Daz install being on drive G: Headshop started in accordance with the video, a photo has been selected from drive F: but as it loads I get an error message, 'Daz model not found'
The following error log contains a lot of references to drive D: but I have nothing related to daz, headshop, or the source photo in drive D:
That's exactly the same problem I have... and the same error message ! My install is on drive C:, although not in the default path (ie. in program files folder) and all the files seems to be correct. The pic is loaded from drive E: I didn't find the issue yet...
Does Headshop work only if DAZ Studio install path is the default one ?
The answer is yes: it looks for files in the default location, which is c:/Program Files/DAZ 3D
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)I have Daz Studio installed on drive E, and HeadShop works fine. So as long as you select the correct location during install, it should work.
I don't know why it doesn't work. I will try with a default install and see if it works...

HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)It is an installation issue. Please watch the installation movie.

Observe where the HeadShop folder should be (inside c:/Program Files/DAZ 3D folder), and where the three other items go (inside c:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4).
Well, everything seems to be OK : all the files are at the right place... but it doesn't work ... ;-(
I've found it will crash on some pictures and won't find a picture on other pictures so try different pictures at 1000x1000 pixels if you can.
Since the software depends on finding feature dots automatically, it does need decent resolution pictures.

AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?
HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)OK, another comparison of Facegen Pro with OneClick. I still get the RH.OneClick error when I export the morph but if you have the right picture and it's focused picture then OneClick gives as almost good results as FaceGen Pro. You have to get good, unblurry pictures though and it's better to use one focused picture instead of a focused & a blurry picture(s).
Famous Person - Left to Right - FaceGen Pro & Genesis 3 Female | OneClick & Genesis 2 Female | OneClick & Genesis 3 Female
All use the same frontal picture and no profile pictures. I had to manually place to dots on FaceGen pro but OneClick autoselected the dots. I did not check the autoselected dots on OneClick or make other adjustments besides using DAZ Genesis 2 & Genesis 3 Female default textures.
All that said though, it's the FaceGen picture is the one I look at and go, 'That looks like her.' One thing I should add though, is how much of FaceGen's very good likeness of this famous person is copying her expression which seemed to be neutral but actually she does seem to habitually purse her lips.
Does FaceGen give different results between Genesis 2 and 3? I didn't splurge on the FG Pro because the difference was quite steep. But if it works better on G3, I may think about making that plunge.
For everyone: It would be helpful to see the source pictures people are using, if that's ok. The reason why is because of how important the quality and pose of the source pic is for these products. Maybe we could even test each other's pics to see how each of us compare!
I really, really wish One Click/Headshop could blend the created face texture into the skin. It stands out a lot so much. These forehead seems are crazy.
One more thing...I read a response from one user that moving all of their Daz content to one location solved their install problem. But I cannot do that. I have Daz content spread over 2 hard drives because I cannot fit it all on one hard drive. My C drive is a 500GB SSD and it is crammed full. Does that mean One Click will not install for me?
I will generate FaceGen Pro morphs of the prior tests tomorrow using Genesis 2 & Genesis and then post but if memory serves right they looked pretty much identical to me.
From what I've read elsewhere you can use GenX2 to transfer morphs between V4/M4/Genesis/Genesis 2/Genesis 3 so whather you get FaceGen Pro to generate Genesis 3 morphs depends on if you think GenX2 transfers a FaceGen Pro Genesis or Genesis 2 morph exactly to Genesis 3. I think it would be the case that FaceGen Pro would do the better job but I don't own GenX2 to test that guess out.
I have GenX2, but I've had lots of trouble getting it to port my Genesis 2 characters. It works great for V4/M4/G1, though. I think its due to my file structure, but I haven't really looked into to much. Porting the skin from G2 is another thing, too, and I've only been successful with base G2. With that in mind, it might be a good thing if FG makes nearly identical results for G2/3 until I get that figured out.
If you happen to have a skin that is the same between G2/3, that might make the comparison between the One Click morphs a bit more fair. Taking a closer look at your pics, I think they might be a closer match to each other than they appear to be because of how the different skins.
OK, well I have a product to move V4 textures to Genesis 2 Female but none to move to Genesis 3 Female. I also own no products to move Genesis 2 textures to Genesis 3 textures because my collection of characters is not big enough. Maybe with future sales my collection will grow.
Anyway, I did redo the texture in my famous actress comparison to make them look alike as possible. The 1st & 3rd character are both Genesis 3, the 1st is FaceGen Pro & the 3rd OneClick so those should theorectically look nearly identical. The middle is Genesis 2 & OneClick with the same eyes but I had to use a Genesis 2 texture instead. They both use the same looking straight ahead expressionless professional picture that is over 1000x1000 pixels.
So compare and pick the one that you like best.

OK, for the male figures I tested with OneClick & FaceGen I did use the same Caleb for M4 / Genesis on the FaceGen Pro & OneClick results.
For the famous actress I didn't but I will try to get my products working that allow that as goodness knows I paid enough money for all that and I'll repost the actress comparison.
For your request to see the FaceGen Pro results with Genesis, Genesis 2, and Genesis 3 I did so for both a male figure and female figure. The male figure has the same skin texture in all three but not yet the female. I need to find the Genesis or V4 texture I think works best with her but even without the matching textures you can pretty easiliy see geometrically the face is the same. At least to my untrained non-artist eye.
To see those 2 tests (the last two images in my 'DAZ Driver's License Gallery') since it is not a review or bug report about OneClick I will not post it here, follow the link to my Gallery & the comparison is there.
