[Released] Render Doctor [Commercial]
Ok, so here is the Log inside Render Doctor. I selected the 14 Polished Granite shaders from the NVIDIA vMaterials 2.0.0 set. It dies as soon as it tries to apply the first preset to the object in the scene.:
21:51:14 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time): Starting Rendering (simulated=false) for 28 images21:51:14 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time): Applying preset D:/3D Graphics/My DAZ 3D Library/Presets/Shader Presets/Iray/NVIDIA/NVIDIA vMaterials 2.0.0/Stone/Granite Polished/Polished Granite - Golden Galaxy.dufDAZ Studio log file attached along with a screenshot of the crash reporter from DAZ when closing Studio after this happens. I'll see if I can get the text of the Stack Trace in that dialog. Let me know if I can provide anything else.
Something I'm not sure I noted before. If I select one of the presets that doesn't work and try it by itself, it crashes. If I apply the preset to the object first, then it works as long as it is the only preset I try to render.
EDIT: I snapped a shot of the Machine Info too from the crash reporter. This bit in the output files is what caught my attention before:

Is there a way ti reinstall omnifreakers shaders? Those for emissive surfaces. I suspect the don't work properly
That would be the Omnifreaker UberArea Light Shader, which is part of the DS defaults starter pack, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah it should be possible to let DIM reinstall the stuff (or do a manual install, the only methods I use, won't touch connect or central with a 20 foot pole;)And I've used it with no issues in DS4.20.
What kind of issues are you seeing?
The light behaves weird after shader applied. In previous vesions I can make any object to be a source of light with UberArea Light Shader now it works differet. Only light plane gives some illumination

purchases not appearing in daz centralDaz Central is kinda screwed up at the moment. To find uninstalled purchases go to Daz Studio Assest on the left side of the screen, this will open your library. Then click twice on the 'Action' button on the right side of the screen above your assets. This should bring any items not installed to the top of the list. If none of your assets are showing in Daz Xentral, then I don't know.
purchases not appearing in daz centralI got a new computer. Updated to the new daz. None of my [ast purchases are available for download in daz central or in daz studio.

Icons?... We don't need no stinking icons.
This is the problem with people these days... needing icons and labels and explanations of what buttons and links do...
Where is that pioneer spirit of pushing buttons and seeing what explodes... do you think the pilgrims got to pilgrim rock pushing labeled buttons?
Did Wilma and Orlando Right label the controls on their jet-copter the Spirit of Saint Nicolas when they took off for Paris from Kittycat, West Carolina?
Did the crew of Apollo 10 1/2 have pretty labeled buttons with fancy explanations or icons on them when they landed on Mars?
Did the technicians at Chernobyl have labels on their knobs and buttons when they... Okay, bad example... but the rest?
No.
They were brave pioneers who didn't give a spit about a little trial and error...
Do you think Captain Skully Skullburger needed to see where he was going when he landed his goose guts cover airliner in the lake at Central Park?...
No... he trusted his instincts and listened to Opie Kanopie and let the Force™ guide him...
We rely too much on our fancy buttons, links, icons and working GUIs nowadays... our ancestors didn't even have monitors when they forged the internet out of mammoth bones and dinosaur dung.
We've gotten too soft and could never survive out in the woods or in a zombie apocalypse without big glowing arrows floating in the air, pointing out safe foods or hungry zombies.
DAZ is just doing everyone a service by getting us out of our comfort zone and pushing us to think for ourselves... to experiment and try thinking outside the can.
Ask yourself if you really even need a monitor or is that just something you've been told to buy by the GUI cartels who are trying to rob you of your instincts and intuition and turn you all into helpless sheeple who need to be spoon fed like... I don't know... sheeples without hands?...
Whatever... Free your mind and stop relying on your eyeballs and stupid lousy icons and buttons.

Metadata problems - (Reason found)Using Central, Studio won't see anything until the product is installed. Connect will know if and when you log in, which is to be avoided if using DIM or Central. It just might "update" the metadata whether you want it to or not.
Metadata problems - (Reason found)I install with DAZ Central.
Metadata problems - (Reason found)I should have first asked how you normally install your products. Sounds like you are using Connect, but I use DIM. So, you did not see the product in the Available tab (or any others) in Smart Content?
If using Connect, it will overwrite the metadata you just changed the next time you log in, as I understand it. If using DIM or Central, copy the metadata file back into the zip in case you need to re-install at some point.
Either way, best to write a ticket to get the root problem corrected, if it is just a matter of changing the GlobalID. Not finding the conflict could prove fruitless, though.
(...and I now see that exporting metadata from a Product view will include the GUID, but still only User Data.)

Install Manager is logging in to your Daz account, so it needs the same email and password as the website.
I would have to say you're wrong because I can log into the Website just fine. But I can not update anything in Daz Central and to get Daz open I have to open the "Daz to Blender" bridge, which automatically opens Daz it seems. But that's the only way I can get access to my Daz. I have send an email to support "but I'm sure we all have experienced how that goes?"
I'm on an iMac OS X 10.13 Mavrick and CAN NOT upgrade the OS any further because of hardware reasons and it's too expensive to update the whole PC just to go to 10.14 "for really no reason because 10.13 is working just fine"
So, I just wanted to input my thoughts on this. I have made a YouTube video going over the my issues with Daz "because I teach people how to make money using Daz, Blender, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, through a number different paths that I have been doing for years now. So I do put Daz through the ringer and "in my personal opinion" it's only GREAT claim to fam is it's ability to create characters. That's about where it ends.
Lonnie.
8.1 male base figure?Weird. 8.1 is a starter essentials. If you didn't install it manually with DIM or Daz Central, it should download straight from Daz.
Did you Register Daz Studio (it should be done automatically while being installed if you login to your account in DIM or Daz Central) ? Help > Register DAZ Studio.
Default Genesis Males, whether 8 or 8.1, should be in the same folder: My DAZ 3D Library > People > Genesis 8 Male.

I've just noted in my thread on this issue that logging in with DAZ Studio doesn't work either (on my 3 Macs.)

Yeah, same here. I'm simply trying to login to DAZ Central. I can type in my email address, but I only click on the password field and I get infinite spinner. I have force quit the app several times but it wont let me type a password. Infinite rainbow spinner.

[Released] Render Doctor [Commercial]@Barbult Thank you for that detail! So yes, it sometimes works fine and others it crashes Studio. I am intrriguied by your success with the polished granite presets that fail consistenly for me. (All others in the vMaterial set work as expected) Hmm. I wouldn't think the geometry would have anything to do with it, or the HDRI lighting I'm using. I will try the 4 you havfe in that log and see what I get.
EDIT: I just tried with the 4 you ran successfully selected. It crashed immediately. Here is the log as it stands:
16:12:56 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time): Starting Rendering (simulated=false) for 8 images
16:12:56 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time): Applying preset D:/3D Graphics/My DAZ 3D Library/Shader Presets/Iray/NVIDIA vMaterials 2.0.0/Stone/Granite Polished/Polished Granite - Golden Galaxy.duf
So I'm left with my original fear that it is something specific to my setup. Crap.

@Alberto I've opened a ticket for this and Richard reported it as well I believe, but unfortunately nothing's being done, figured I'd let you know as well before returning it. There are no manual installers for the LITE version in library.
In fact, there is not manual installers for the plugin, only for the content. The installing is via DIM.
Then why is it listed on the product page? I don't use dim and got it (+ some of the presets in advance, that are now past the 30 day date) based on this misinformation.
Sorry, I missed your reply.
Are you asking about the Install Types section?
I suppose it's alluding to the manual installation of contents. I didn't create this particular section (It's reserved for DAZ, because they made the installers)
However, if you want to install the plugin manually, there is a way, but you have to use the DIM to download the files (but not for installation).
This is the procedure for Fluidos original, but it's the same for Fluidos II Lite: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3922111/#Comment_3922111

The I Miss the Old Days Complaint ThreadToo little support for seniors all around.. If I didn;t have my RR pension and our Gov't pensions, we'd be hurting...
As fas as heat - we have 4 boilers with a total of 14 Million BTUs in the boiler room on our building's roof..

About 48% of my monthly SS benefit goes just for rent alone for a small studio flat (plus high utility bills in winter).
The trouble is there isn't much in the way of alternatives as low income housing here is at a critical shortage with many wait lists closed indefinitely.

The I Miss the Old Days Complaint ThreadYeah, steam or hydronic heat is the best...one of the building boilers developed an issue overnight, with a borked controller, which really confused the automation and caused the other 3 boilers to drop to 160F set points (it should be around 200F in this weather) Thankfully this AM, our building maintenance guy (who has a Class 5 boiler operators ticket) managed to isolate it and put it into manual mode, so we have glorious heat! It was -28C this AM..

.They should have provided for a central boiler and steam heat system when they built it. These last few days will probably add about 50% to my month's power bill.
