There are a lot of weird issues with this character. The skin is all over the place. I thought all the non toon core models were using the same exact 8K normal map for details (which contributes to how they look so similar,) but this one somehow manages to get really inconsistant.

In this and other promos, her skin has a sudden extremely smooth surface in the middle of her cheek. It makes no logical sense, even if she has makeup on, the makeup would have a texture to it and not be perfectly smooth. Yet this spot isn't really where the bulk of makeup is applied. I don't what the issue is, but it looks all kinds of wrong.
Then you look at her neck, I thought the entire point of redoing the UV map was to prevent this. Her neck is rough! She is a female, correct? A woman's neck is often quite supple and soft. Continue to go down her neck, and you will see yet another ultra smooth area going into her collarbone. So this random spot and collarbone are smoother than her neck? Does that make sense to anybody? The abnormally smooth skin also makes the light reflect stronger than it should, leading to a more synthetic appearance.
Aside from the skin conditions, her expressions seem paticularly unnatural. This character just looks "off". It is dissapointing after Mr Kahn seemed to be heading in a better direction.
Meanwhile Mousso slam dunks it with her character. I don't think it is great to have a core character completely upstaged by an add in bundle character. It certainly isn't the first time, but I find it funny, and mostly sad. Like I have said before, I believe very strongly that "Daz Core" models should be setting the standards that others look up to. They need to in order to justify their higher than typical model prices, especially since something like makeup is an extra purchase now. Xui Lin is $50 as a stand alone purchase, while Fanny is $27 and includes her makeups. So...just buy Fanny, LOL. I know there is "always a sale" but the non sale prices are pretty important and IMO set the expectation for what the product quality should be. A core model should not exist purely for a bundle deal. A core model should be able to stand on their own.
What's up with the razor's edge eyelid upper fold? I was morphing G9 facially this week for the first time (using Victoria, MW Elisabeth, & MW new girl, and I had the same problem. I've bought all the morph packs available, including one from RenderHub, and I can't find anyway to thicken the fold. From what you've shown, I'd return Xiu Lin, but I got her for $4.73 using tokens & PC+ coupon. Also, I've never seen someone with eyebrows composed mostly of several long hairs that stick to the face.
Thanks, barbult, for sussing out the smooth skin issue. I didn't buy Fanny because I have so many Mousso G8's that I never use.

Does anyone know of an Avril Lavigne morph for G8F or G8.1F? I don't use G9 so HID Ariel won't work for me.
Fwiw there's also a G2F/V4 out there (AVIN on FoRender.)
There's also Abbie for Genesis 3 Female by Xtr-art on clearance at Rendo.
Plane Primitive Turned into SphereI created a simple plane primitive with five divisions to use as a floor surface. I added some d-Formers to reshape it into a trapezoid, saved that as a morph, then applied a texture. I created seven instances of the primitive. Then I went on to work on other stuff.
When I opened the scene file again later, I discovered that the plane had turned into a sphere. The morph that I made is still on it, but doesn't do anything since the object is now a sphere and not a plane. The scale sliders are all in the correct, positive values.
Can anyone tell me what happened? Before I try to recreate the plane as I had it before, I would like to make sure this one doesn't turn into a sphere again.
G8(G8.1) head morph to G9 Head morph ?Yeah, no automation, no HD morph +1
G8(G8.1) head morph to G9 Head morph ?There're a couple of tutorials on Daz youtube channel. Another way is to fit G8 on G9, then use Transfer Utility to transfer Morph Target (head morph slider) from G8 to G9~
G8(G8.1) head morph to G9 Head morph ?Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to use head morphs from G8&G8.1 onto G9 character.
(I'm talking about the slider that you have into the parameter tab to apply a head morph)Thank you

That's HD, hun! *wink*
I believe it's the HD morph. If it's a more realistic looking character you might probably think it's fine.
That's why I am not a fan of Xiu Lin. Just can't please both worlds - it's tricky to find the balance between realism and toon, and I just think Xiu Lin lands on a point that is neither realistic nor toony enough and I honestly don't know what to do with her.
Issues with weird neck bending after applying poseRichard Haseltine said:
Is this a morphed figure or is it using the base shape? It could be some particular rotation with a bad JCM (a morph to correct for a shape, that is kicking in when the shape isn't applied) - try the neck and head transforms one-by-one to see if you can pin down the cause.
I believe the figure on the image I use is morphed, but when I use base shape figure this issue also happen regardless. I tried to transform the head part like you suggested, and that seems to be the cause. When I change the bending up, that seems to remove the weird line, but when I pull it all the way to the left, the weird line appear. Is this suppose to happen like this? I tried with gen 9 and this problem don't appear. Only for my gen 8 and 8.1 models
Is there a symmetry option for the D-Former thingy?Richard Haseltine said:

Hi! The tools in the links does not exist anymore or does not work how I like it. So I wrote the attached script. You could try this script which went through the whole scene, compares the left part of the names with 'D-Former_' and if this is the case it negates the values of XPos and YRot. So it should work if you don't have renamed the D-Former and ...Base and ...Field without changing the selected node for all D-Former in the scene.
Note that this will work with a basic dForm that just uses the Field to cotnrol the effect, but it will not work on a weight-mapped dForm. Also be aware that the script relies on node names, whichj may well chnage - it would be safer to use the node's classname as a check.
Thank you! I never thought at weight-mapped dForm. In this case you really need to export and reimport the mirrored morph.Thank you to be aware of this. The figure needs to be symmetrical to the x-coordinates too. For me it's working good enough till now. I am really only a hobby-user. But feel free to change the script the way you need it. Maybe it'll help some people.
Transfer Utility makes clothes comes out of the avatarHi there!
I have made clothe in clo 3d with my avatar created in Daz, when importing the clothes to daz, they fit well, but the problem is when I do the Transfer Utility (to make possible the movement of the avatar with the clothes) the clothes comes out over the avatar's head, leaving half on the avatar and half outside . Please, I would really appreciate your help, I've been looking for a solution for the last 3 days and I can't find it. Thank you beautiful people!Issues with weird neck bending after applying poseIs this a morphed figure or is it using the base shape? Just wondering... If PayPal had problems with Havanna Streets, what is their reaction to us buying HD Fanny...

I have to admit I burst out laghing when i saw https://www.daz3d.com/xiu-lin-9-hd-and-fanny-bundle advertised obviously some words mean different things to different countries even in english.
Think I already have a morph slider for HD Fanny in my Daz ..

Now we just need a warm furry muff, the kind you put your hand into
pay a commission to create a female face morph for g8f.I would like to pay a commission to create a female face morph for g8f.
I have a lot of reference photos needed for face morph production, but there are no accurate front or side photos that facegen needs.
There are many high-resolution photos of model poses that can be targeted.
With the dial of the face morph for the g8, which was released commercially, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't even make it similar.
I think it's because I have an Asian face.
I searched for creators on fiverr, but couldn't find out who the verified creator was.
TritiumCG, a famous face morph maker on devianart, seems to be currently not accepting commissions due to illness.
Just like he made, a face morph alone can produce a completely different face from the original depending on the texture, so I want to entrust the production of the face morph and textures that fit the face.
If the budget allows, I would like to leave the body, but that much budget is not allowed to me.
Asian female face morph with minimum production standards (for g8f)
If possible, how much does it cost to include textures?
If you have any producers to recommend, please let me know.

Unsupported figure / fit to / auto fitSUCCESS! Perhaps.
It appears that letting autofit do whatever black magic it does, and then using the transfer utility to move skeletons and skinning etc. from another model "tricks" DAZ into thinking the model was made for Genesis and so no longer requires the autofit dialogue and action. I've not jumped into the .dufs and .dsfs to see what might be able to be seen there that delivers this outcome.
Merge a body part for a demon character with a belly mouthHello I want to create some kind of demon character in daz3d. The character should have a mouth in the stomach area. It would be best if the mouth was movable (rigged) I tried hiding all body parts of a Genesis 8 character (except the mouth) and just moving it to another character's abdominal region. Unfortunately, I don't like the result at all. my question is now what would you do? Create a morph with zbrush so that the belly matches the mouth as well. or is it possible to create a geograft abdomen with the mouth e.g. in the hexagon. Unfortunately, I'm still quite new to the subject of Blender and Zbrush and am currently trying to acquire knowledge via tutorials. I haven't found anything related to the topic yet as I don't want to create a complete mouth from scratch (at least for now). I've attached an image of what it should look likeGenesis 3 & 8 Face ControlsGood question is can Face Controls expression be saved and used as morph or a pose preset separately on other characters without FC rig, and is there a way somehow to export FC expression to blender? Big thanks
Custom character from BlenderIf you are trying to make a new morph in Daz, use Morph Loader Pro.
This only works at Base Resolution.
Give the morph a unique 'Name' to a avoid any conflicts.
To save, Save as 'Morph Asset', by selecting only your new morph in the popup. Do not resave all your morphs. and filling out the Content root folder, author, product name you want to save it as. (That will just define folder structure where the morph gets saved. )
Custom character from BlenderIf you want to create a morph you use Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro (or Advanced) - make sure that Blender preserved the vertex order and that you use the same preset in the daz Studio OBJ Export dialogue and the morph import dialogues. If youn are setting up a geoGraft then you use the Geometry Editor to select the faces that should be hidden, then (with the graft fitted) use the right-click>Geometry Assignment menu to assign them to the Auto Hide group for that item.
Merging Surfaces?Had the morphs already been transferred to the grafts? Until that hapens (custom morph added or morph applied to the base) theer are no deltas to transfer, so if you then set a new morph on the base figure the ex-graft vertices will - correctly - remain unchanged.
