    This image that I will add here comes from my game (visual novel category). The picture shows a Genesis 8.1 female figure, SubD level 3, and on her head she has an HD morph for better lips (I like them more than the classic smooth ones). Next to her is a male character, also with Genesis 8.1, SubD level 1, and no morph (he is not wearing a shirt). Both characters are in a small room that serves as a bedroom, so it's nothing big.
    4K resolution - 500 iterations - Post Denoiser ON (default settings) = 19 minutes and 45 seconds (11.6GB).
    What I mean by that is, as long as you're not trying to do any "visual magic," then it's fine. Basically, it could handle 3 to 4 characters + a simpler environment. But as soon as you start using some HD morphs or playing with the SubD level in a more complicated environment, such as a forest or a park where there are more trees, bushes, and vegetation in general, I am sure that the GPU will not be able to handle it (I already know this from my own experience). From my point of view, the RTX 3060 is suitable for beginners and less demanding work.

    But Teen texture add-on can be purchased separately, also for Angela 9, which I think is a rather nice option.

    I was confused with these, but what I really want to know is what morph/morphs are they using on Angela cause even with the growing up product it's more miss than hit trying to make the figure look younger and not having the face look really friggin strange.

  • Tedious operations ....

    Scale, Transfer and so on... 
    Working with the https://www.daz3d.com/dungeon-builder (Dungeon Set Builder Part) to create some fancy and nice settings, that should be able to vary, if I create new ones. A problem I see here is to do several operations again and again. For example, I took several celings and floors from the dungeon builder set, that come with the product itself. In order to get another scale on everything, one has to load one element, scale it up to the desired size, then one has to navigate the Joint Editor Tool, mark every bone children at once,

    right click in the viewport -> edit -> bake joint rotations (to fit everything to the actual position, so nothing breaks when one would update the base geometry)

    then go to the main menu

     edit -> figure -> geometry -> update base geometry 

    then go to the main menu

    file -> save as -> scene subset 
    For a figure that may has no bones, there is no need for the first part. But in general, when we scale something up, translate it somewhere and do basic operations, it would be nice to have a faster way that includes everything to the point we want to save something. Baking the may existing joint rotations could be an "if bones exist" function, but everything like a translation or new scale could be done with a simple "button". 
    First question for this personal process:

    Is there something out there that does these things I refered to in one go? 
    Second Question to DAZ3D: 
    Would it be possible to add features like this simple "script" as some kind of button next to the object in the scene pan?

  • Gen 8.0/8.1 male's arm mesh completely distorted, anyone else have this problem? (solved)

    It happened overnight, my 8/8.1 male's arm mesh looks completely distorted, even on stock setting Daz model with 0 morph, everything was fine a week ago, anyone else got this problem or is it just on my PC

    I wonder what could trigger this? sometimes Daz acted like it has a mind of its own, overrideing user's saved local enviorment and files loction without user's conscent even when work offline, I suspect Daz touched "based joint correctivness" & "base flexion"

    The 1st picture was from last week when everything worked as intended, the later 2 are their current status, the 3rd pic is stock setting Daz model with 0 morph

  • Getting on the 9 train, or not

    On previous generations, I had shapes like Torment 8.1, Kwan 8, Lee 7, Zelara 8, Rosa Maria 8.1, or The Girl---to cite various physical ideals---but this has not yet occurred. Zeddicuss' G9 dialed morph types lack the aesthetics (and built-in JCM/CBSs) of their G8 versions. HM is closer to their G8 morphs but is still not hitting the ideals I'd grown accustomed too. I've always found it difficult to dial the bodies I wanted from scratch (without using another full body morph as a starting point), and the G9 bases and Core Figures almost guarantee my failure this generation.

    I'd love to see a G9 version of Torment. He's one of the best figures. On the other hand, I don't miss the G8 female proportions; they were lollypop girls–skinny body and huge head. I always had to at least increase shoulder width.

  • Problems with the Forum

    I'm not sure if anyone in with any power actually read these things, but there are a couple of problems with the forums that drive me crazy. 

    1. If you enter from Google or another search engine, it makes you log in if the system has logged you out. This is fine, and I understand it, but the problem is it doesn't take you back to the page you entered on. So, if I google "how to save morphs in Daz Studio" the link will take me to a forum page briefly, tell me I'm not logged in, then when I log in, it keeps me on the log in page. I then have to go back a couple of times in my browser to refind the link, and then re-enter the forum page I was already on. It isn't the end of the world to have to do this, but it still drives me nuts, and isn't something I experience on very many other websites. 

    2. The search in Forums is aweful. I tried searching for topics related to "Face Transfer". Nothing that came up had anything to do with the topic. I tried to be more specific. Still just a bunch of topics that had no relevence. The work around is to go out of the forums and just google the topic, then re-enter Daz Forums from there. Again, not the end of the world, but something that baffles me.

  • Can a DAZ character get locked to stop saving?

    Look in DS preferences, there should be a section with your author name. This is what will be used for scenes and presets.

    The authorship info when saving morph data or assets is used to put them in the right place inside the "data" folder

  • Morphing Genesis 9 figures into toons

    Exaggerated toon face expressions would be good but would require toon teeth that would morph appropriatly with the mouth.

    Having normal teeth in a toon face/expression does not work.

    Hopefully, it is okay to say look at Stickleyield's DeviantArt page and, in particular, RSSY Converter Bundle G8-G9 which is described as: "Well, it's been months of exhausting work, but Riversoft Art and I have finally got our converters into testing at Daz3d. The bundle contains four products: The Character Converter for G8F-G9, the one for G8M-G9, the Material Suit for G8F-G9, and the material suit G8M-G9. He did a really neat additional script thing to fix big eyes, too!"

  • Can a DAZ character get locked to stop saving?

    What I mean is, in the way that a document can get locked into "read only" can the program do that to a character?

    I was finalizing my character Dee S. Guise for Sakura 8. When I put her out last night on Renderhub everything was working perfectly.

    I noticed today the character preset wasn't working properly, so naturally I immediately went to fix it and soon learned that somewhere between yesterday and today the DAZ program simply will not save any of my changes.  I move a morph to the proper location, go through the motions to save, it doesn't move. I try to add Dee's character card, it goes through the saving motions, and doesn't save. I said, fine I'll make an entirely new dial slider. It told me it couldn't add to the Genesis node.

    I've restarted the program I don't know how many times over it, and just... GRRR. Some days I seriously hate this program.

  • Morphing Genesis 9 figures into toons

    I just recently installed the Genesis 9 basic male and female figures, and would like to know how I can morph them into "toons".  With the other Genesis figures, I can morph them, using the shaping tools, but I don't see anything which morphs the Genesis 9 figures into toons.

    Any help would be apprecicated!

Reload G8.1, those expressions will be back... In this way, there'll be some duplicate expression dials in Parameters but there should be no problem... I removed these 'blockers' just after the time when G8.1 was released...

    The default FACS controller also does not give the option for "Lip out-in", like in G8. This is oddly disturbing surprise
