LOVE sculpting "MORPHING" with the new Genesis 9!!!
Teeth morphs are under Genesis 9/Actor/Head/Face/Mouth/Base. If you scroll down to the bottom of the list there are a few. There is some limited abiliity to morph the teeth..
If you are looking for something more comprehensive to morph individual teeth and shaping, I'd suggest my "Build Your Own Smile - Dental Work" product.
Hope that helps.
V4 poses on Genesis 9 - via Zev0's convertersI have a huge collection of G3 poses, so I plan to transfer them. But before that I need a new performant PC :)

Feedback needed about G2 project
Nice textures I've been struggling to find a way to make them. How did you do it?kesh said:Hi all,
I'm dabbling with Genesis 2 figures and several external software to achieve a good "Na'Vi" (the blue people from Pandora, in James Cameron's Avatar movie, for the unlikely ones that wouldn't know em ^^), and this is where i have got so far. It's still a WIP project, mainly needing skin completion and refinement, but the bulk of the project is done.
Not shown here i also made a geografted poseable tail that completes the character and will be part of the package (if i go on and make it public). The project is ideally composed of:
- one full body morph and one head/face morph for Genesis 2 female (custom made morphs, sculpted, not dialled in) with relative readjusting of the rigging;
- one material preset with additional textures/shaders for the skin effects (base skin is same of gen 2 female and won't be redistributed);
- one geografted, seamlessy skinned and textured poseable tail figure. From all who is even slightly interested i'm requesting a brief feedback about the following:
1 do you think it would be a selling product?
2 would there be copyright problems with the "avatar" corporation or whatever entity is the AI and copyright owner of the movie? (i doubt so, since there are already several 3d models for the characters, none compliant with daz studio or poser though).
3 anything else you feel like adding or commenting about it.Thanks for your collaboration!
K.Head Shape/Morph for top of head?I'm looking for a way to shape the top of the head/skull. It appears that most morphs only want to adjust the forehead area. I'm working on bald male characters and don't want all of their heads to appear the same. Anyone know how I can make these adjustments. We all know it's rare for people to have perfectly round heads.

I will give credit for how surprisingly good Lawrence looks as a female. It makes me wonder if Lawrence was designed as a female first, that would explain the odd proportions.
Lawrence uses Angela's facial texture, with essentially no alteration. If you put Angela's texture on him, he doesn't really look any different.
That's what I was saying last week. But I paid less than $14 for him; so, I guess that's OK for a new head morph and a normals map.
Yeah, I said elsewhere that this kind of blatant reuse of Angela's texture (and remarkably SOON, given her release date) should bother me, but it really didn't. Maybe it's that the price I paid really was low enough for everything else that it seemed to balance out.
The only thing about his release that actually annoys me -- and frankly, not all that much -- is that there's something wrong with how his anatomical elements texture works. It's very clearly outlined on his body, which means that there's something off about it. That said, I'm not going to file a ticket on it -- I have one languishing and being ignored already, and this is the sort of thing I've dealt with Support with before, and it winds up being very aggravating. I've got ways to deal with it if I need to show him nude for whatever reason.
Separating Parts from an Object for Rigging/Morphs, Advice?I think what I'm trying to do is probably not possible in DAZ alone, but maybe someone can tell me otherwise. In a nuttshell, I'm working on a vehicle model I found online. I want to either rig it so the doors open and close, or create a morph to do the same. The vehicle has so much going on inside and out, that it was impossible to just select certain surfaces and create a new face group, and I couldn't simply use "select connected". So, I thought I'd just duplicate the vehicle, then use the geometry editor to delete EVERYTHING except the surfaces I needed. Now I have a door as a separate object, and the entire vehicle (with all doors still intact) as another object.
My question is, is it possible to select the faces from the door, then delete those same faces from the model of the vehicle itself so I can parent the individual door to the vehicle as a separate object? Or did I just do all that work just for fun? Not a huge deal if I did, but I'm hoping I have something useable.
Thanks in advance!

Loading a default figure will load other character morphs along with it.Loading a default figure will load other character morphs along with it. How can I get it back?
I may have saved that morph somewhere before. But I don't remember where I saved it.
How can I get the figure back to its initial state where it can be loaded by default?

The most critical thing (in my opinion) that needs to be addressed is the absolutely shocking load times for figures. It should use a precompiled library and/or make the process multi-threaded. There are lots of issues, but the ridiculous load times are what has resulted in me losing interest in the whole thing. On the upside, I save a tonne of money not buying stuff from Daz.
The best way to deal with load times is to just disable the morphs you rarely use with Turbo Loader. It is a script that runs pretty fast. You select the stuff you want to keep on, it then runs through and disables the rest. This is far faster than deleteing content from your drives (and reinstalling later), since it is not actually uninstalling anything. So enabling a morph you had disabled is just a few clicks away.
Plus this works in any version of Daz, so you do not need to run a beta to speed up load times.
It is great that Daz is finally addressing this age old issue, though.
FaceGen vs Face Transfer vs Headshop 12. Pros & Cons?Facegen Artist is the version of FG that works with Genesis. It has been updated recently as well. This is noteworthy because Daz Face Transfer has NEVER been updated in its entire existence. So while FG is very old, it is indeed still getting support all these years later. You cannot say the same about Face Transfer. As for Head Shop, it always has promise but I have been let down too many times by it. To its credit, HeadShop 2023 is the only one that supports Genesis 9. At some point Facegen probably will. Considering that Face Transfer has never been updated at all, I am very doubtful that it will ever support Genesis 9. However, just looking at the tutorial for HS2023, it looks like the app struggles to create proper morphs for the G9 eyes and teeth. I have a feeling that any face generator will have a big problem with G9.
The new FG has automatic dot placement like the others do, so now FG is more user friendly. You can still manually place dots if you wish, too, so it still has that freedom. Another thing I noticed is that the newest FG appears to do a better job blending the face into the texture than it did before. So if you have not updated Facegen in a while, you should do so. The latest update just dropped days ago.
Somebody asked about the cut off point of the photo blend. This is where using a side profile photo helps.
They all still have their issues. The head shapes can be really comical looking. If you are looking for a bunch of random background characters, I would use Face Randomizer and combine it with textures from Facegen. At a distance, FG characters can look pretty convincing. You can create unlimited randomized faces from an AI Art Generator to use in Facegen. You can easily adjust the attributes so the AI faces are bald and not smiling, which removes the biggest issues these apps have.
FaceGen vs Face Transfer vs Headshop 12. Pros & Cons?I use Face Transfer plus the FTS add-on and think that combination does a fantastic job. Can't comment on the other two with relation to Daz, but I used to use Face Gen about 15 years ago in game development.
I haven't tried Face Gen with Daz because it doesn't appear to have had any fundamental updates since I last used it and it was already pretty limited back then. The Daz plug-in version must've been updated to target Genesis meshes, but the core of the product looks unchanged and I don't remember it being that great.
I've stayed away from Head Shop because none of the promo pics resemble the reference pics.
I don't use the textures that come out of Face Transfer. I think they're terrible. It's the FT plus FTS addon combo I like for giving me a base shape. It's surprisingly accurate and often only needs a few tweaks to get superb heads, and I've a workflow setup to transfer the heads to G9, at which point I make any tweaks before slapping on a G9 texture.

G3 and G8 Expressions on G9I have looked at the face rigging and sliders for expression transfer.
Some expressions are mostly done with the face rig (easier to convert), some are done with special morphs (impossible to transfer with a pose transfer) and some use sliders associated with the base character of each. The sliders can affect the bones in the face rig and others affect a combination of morphs & bones. The bone bit can be transferred relatively easily, the morph component can't.
There are fewer bones in the G9 face rig than the G8 face rig. Those that are in both do compare fairly well with each other, basically with the G9 bones covering a wider area. If a part of the pose applied to the missing G8 bone is added to each of G9 bones on either side, a pretty representative movement is transferred. It's not perfect, but part way there. It is, I have to say, long and slow work tweaking each G9 face bone and trying to get it to look like the effect of the G8 face bone so that information can be codified in the script. This effort is currently already incorporated in my G8-G9 pose transfer script.
A gentleman has been working with my transfer script to make as many of the base character expression sliders work as possible from G8 to G9. For some reason, he wants me to go through and verify it all.. I have not had time to check that yet. I need to.
As for newly morphed expressions that do not use the G8 base character sliders & bones, then I very much doubt there will be a way of transferring them to G9 from G8 unless you do a morph.
So, I offer you a mixed bag. My script could well work well enough just using the rigging to show expressions, however it's probably a bit hit & miss depending on how the PA created the expression (sliders or rigging). It may get better in the future if I can get time. In my G8->G9 pose transfer script I misunderstood the interaction of the metatarsals and a high heel slider in G9. I'm part way through a G9->G8 pose transfer script, where I hope to correct the misunderstanding, and then I plan to re-visit the G8->G9 pose transfer and correct the high-heel/metatarsal interaction in the revised version while also adding in all the expression sliders where possible. Can't offer a timescale, as Real Life is impinging on me at the moment. And, it has to be said, I have no real feel for G9, so scripts involving are a 'labour' rather than a 'labour-of-love'.
Regards,
Richard.
Installing Michael 4/Victoria 4 et al in D|S 4.21.0.5 in Windows 11You can't install G4 figures and morphs with Connect, the way their morphs work is not compatible with the fact that Connect installs each product in its separate folder.
Clothes and most other types of add-ons for them can be installed with Connect, but base figures, morph packs and characters using custom morphs can't. You have to use DIM, DazCentral or manual install for those, and install them all in the same poser content directory so that all the morph data are in the same folder. And yes, the batch file still exist, and you will still need to run it after installing morph packs and custom morphs (IIRC it's not really needed anymore for packs which include "power loader" files, but running it anyway doesn't hurt).
As for content from other sites, if you want them to show up in Smart Content you'll usually need to categorize them yourself after install, as most of them don't include metadata to appear in Smart Content.
This product might be worth the investment if you have lots of content from other sites, it helps with install and adding metadata: Content Wizard | Daz 3D

Have you tried the current public build, which already has some work on that?
VERY INTERESTING!
You know, to be honest I HAVE noticed an improvement in my load times recently. I have a "base" scene with a GF8 in it that I am working on, and normally I start up Daz, click on the scene duf and then...
go pick some coffee beans, dry them out, roast them, then brew a cup, come back to the computer (still waiting), read a few chapters in War & Peace, fold the laundry, take the dog for a walk... come back and THEN start messing around in Daz.
Lately, though, since the beans are already roasted, I just make a cup of coffee and come back and its done....
And yes, my G8/Morph library are that big.
I hate to say it, but Daz 5 is really going to be in competition with AI now.... they (and by extension, the PAs) can't really afford to not have Daz 5 be "jaw dropping". Right now, getting your AI prompts squared away enough to get consistent/repeatable results is daunting, but as Chat/GPT & Art AI programs begin to merge..... I can just say "Photo-realistic, Attractive C-Cup, 25 Year Old Model wearing a Chartreuse low cut dress” instead of BUYING those assets for self assembly.JoeQuick's Young Anime Heroes for Genesis 9
i noticed it too... But surely that's just an artistic choice for the promo renders, and not baked into the morph?Gordig said:The base pose is incredibly weird: leaning forward, with hyperextended knees, butt WAY up and belly stuck out.
