Daz Jedi Outfit + addonI haven't watch the later group of Star Wars movies, but based on my memories of the first group, Ep. 4 - 6, I found in my runtime some options that may either give clothing for background characters (non-Jedi) or possibilities for Jedi robes with work. Unfortunately, most of my best ones were in the M3/M4 clothing and I am not listing them. Many were for females, but could work on males.
From Rendo by Lully, dForce - Divergence for G8F
The PA Sshodan's store - https://www.daz3d.com/sshodan
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-legend-outfit-for-genesis-9 and https://www.daz3d.com/legend-outfit-texture-add-on
https://www.daz3d.com/eastern-fantasy-warrior-outfit-for-genesis-8-males and https://www.daz3d.com/eastern-fantasy-warrior-outfit-textures (the main outfit caused me to recall Star Wars when I first saw it. The textures are a bit much.)

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hooded-outfit-for-genesis-8-females and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hooded-outfit-textures
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dystopian-future-outfit-for-genesis-8-females and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dystopian-future-outfit-textures
https://www.daz3d.com/sky-jumper-outfit-for-genesis-8-female-s (it has textures but they are way too brightly colored for Star Wars.)
https://www.daz3d.com/street-sweeper--cyber-samurai-for-genesis-8-male (Not sure if you could use bits and pieces of this outfit and with shaders tone it down.)
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dawn-warrior-outfit-for-genesis-8-males and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dawn-warrior-outfit-textures (not as flowy as you are looking for, but if matched up with a cloak from Sshodan or another PA...?)
There are the laser sword thingies in Daz's store, so I am sure you have them but this is the latest I have: https://www.daz3d.com/laser-swords-and-poses-2-for-genesis-3-and-8
Unfortunately, flowing outfits for the guys seem to be scarce. I thought I had more Asian style robes, but couldn't track them down except one that is wrong for your purpose and exploded everytime I tried to use it. Maybe other folks on the forum knows of good options here or on Rendo that will work as Jedi robes.
I do know that good shader packs have been coming out that would fix any fabric issues even if the colors are wrong.

So hope to "again" see some Star Wars alien head morphs for G9!
Star Wars head morphs would be quite a bit more involved than Star Trek, given that Star Trek aliens are just humans with some stuff glued to their face.
Would be perfect for G9's HD capabilities then!

But back to the G9 Jedi Outfits, it could be originally a Samurai suit with Jedi/sith add-on for colors... as the jedi outfit were based on ninja/samurai outfits (don't quote me on that, no sure but they are close!)
The Jedi robes in the prequels were based on Obi-Wan Kenobi's outfit in the original movie, which was perfectly normal attire for a desert hermit.
I know the "origin" of the Jedi outfit, but still want a good dForce enable Jedi clothing :D
Just hope Daz will do some more Star Wars inspired Add-ons!Been using the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Obi-Wan outfit, but too much work to get the dforce to work without getting gaps and so on!

Etiquette for crediting creators in published materialGriffin Avid said:
I think right now, you feel assets are leading the way in your book- like "The assets are the star of your e-book". And so, you want to give credit where it's due. Lots of early creators feel deep appreciation, gratitude and even privilege for being able to use such stellar items to bring your vision to life.
I mean, you just want to THANK THE VENDORS!!!!
Eventually though, that wears off as YOU put the creative effort in- and make the assets come to life in the context of YOUR story. What you did was more important than what assets you used.
Sure the [insert vendor] made an awesome looking character, but it’s your story that breathes life into the character and gives them personality. When the amount of work you put into your story outshines the Daz props, you’ll probably feel less of a need to thank the vendors or Daz.
Usually, it goes the other way around. The Vendor should be saying “As seen in…” or Daz should be bragging about what company or project uses Daz Assets.
Also, if your book is for READERS, they should not care what you used to make the book. They either like it or they don’t. OTHER CREATORS might be interested – because they want to do (or use similar stuffs) to create a similar thing.
On a final note, I think crediting TOOLS diminishes the link between the Creator and the End Work. Lots of people can buy those same assets, but only you can author in that e-book that put them to such fine use.
I agree. I paid a 3D artist to make a 3D character from my 2D product. I feel no obligaton to credit that person. Nor should you credit stock photos or other art you buy a license for.As a professional writer, you should credit the people who actually visited your project and offered their hand in making the final product available to the public. The people you should identify are co-authors and illustrators who designed your character from scratch. If you did not hire such you should not credit such. If you hired a book designer to design your book layout, credit that peron. If you use a licensed software or software product . . . refrain.

So can someone explain to me how stuff like the Star Trek products that were released today aren't a huge copyright concern? It's not just clearly inspired, I'm pretty sure the Nova and Next Generation are practically the same. Did Daz strike some kind of deal with these companies?
As far I understand it, fans can make fan art / fan fiction so long as we don't charge any money for whatever we make. However I wouldn't even get to that stage with these products. What makes me nervous is the fact that they have clearly replicated things from these movies/shows and are charging money for the products, all of which appear to be unofficial. It's a bit too much of a grey area for me, but I can imagine a time in the future where they might be asked to remove it all, so for me personally, I'll be staying away from them. Obvs I could be completely wrong but that's my perspective on it as a risk averse kinda fella :)
The irony is that if you go to Comic-Con (or Wondercon or any comic convention) it's totally fine to sell all kinds of fan art and it's not only allowed but it's expected and encouraged. I've had fan art in the Comic-Con official catalog, sold in the official art show and sold at a booth and almost every artist and creator sells fan art there. Never was there a legal issue.
Whose trademark would we be violating? DAZ's or ViacomCBS, NBC Universal, and Disney's? I'm not going to purchase the fan art stuff sold here to make sure I don't break the Daz TOS but I've downloaded free fan outfits and morphs in the past and created my own textures for existing outfits and I have no qualms about it. If you search the internet, there are many fan outfits available for free for DAZ characters. So is DAZ paying ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal and Disney for the rights to use their IP? And if so, why isn't it legal for us to use it commercially? They are making more of a profit off of it than any of us artists would.
Personally I'm more concerned about products that depict real people who can be posed in uncompromising positions. Now people are doing that with AI, and DAZ renders still do look pretty fake but I care more about Katee Sakhoff's wellbeing than ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal and Disney's. I just hope the Daz artists only use characters based on real people in good taste.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. By 'they' I meant Daz, not us regular folk (e.g. ...the fact that the Daz store products have clearly replicated these things...). So my concern was about Daz eventually being asked to stop selling these (apparently) unofficial products, and potentially ruining the validity of anything we created with said products. And that's why I will steer clear of the products.

Yes! Yes.
Perhaps I'm a hypocrite, I have bought and used celebrity likenesses myself (although I've been moving away from that lately). But I do find it weird how quite a few users are so concerned about the rights of corporations, but the rights of the individual doesn't seem to matter very much. Priorities, please.
I rarely know the celebs referred to when someone identifies them as the source for a new character, I just don't watch TV or movies since the 90s. But, I still respect the PA's characters and treat them with respect.
The Star Trek items I bought and have coded each one in my Smart Content with a sub-category 'Star Trek Caution' and plan to use for one use only.

I think that's a very good point you're making here - people truly often seem to forget that celebs are real persons, too, and can be hurt by what is done with their digital likenesses. But of course, as you also note, that train has already left the station for all of us with AI and deep fakes, I fear.
Concerning the copyrights, I feel the posters above are maybe not so much worried about the corporations' well-being but the artists and hobbyists using these assets, and then getting sued.Star Trek Builders Unite 8: THE REBOOTWell, that's a surprise! Star Trek on the DAZ sale page, now I've seen everything. Can only hope we see more products come out!

No not greedy. It's simply a really welcome incentive not to buy. And I'm willing and eager to comply. I don't want to be constrained to Star Trek. Now I do love VRV's earrings as they look gorgeous. Wish I could model that way. Regards, Richard
If you are tempted to purchase the earrings, be sure to check the long required products list:
Required Products:
According to the readme you don't need all of the listed products, just 1 or 2. This product will work with all of them.
Right, but you will only have access to the components of the required products that you own. The product page says * Please note that each set requires the related product, but you do not need all sets if you only have 1 or 2 that you own and want to use." (emphasis added)
If you only own Hazel Jewelry, for example, you won't have access to the Valentines shapes or Emily shapes or Gemma shapes to build earrings with. So, you won't get everything shown in the main promo pic. I'm not saying the product is misleading, because it is spelled out clearly in the required products list and the product page description. It is just that people need to pay attention to that information and not just look at the main promo and add to cart without realizing what the product really is. It is a clever way of expanding and adding value to existing products for a modest price.Let's appreciate/discuss today's new releases - ongoing threadbarbult said:

Star Trek Builders Unite 8: THE REBOOTDang, did Star Trek Fan Art creaters just get a BIG shot in the arm... DAZ must have paid a pretty penny for the fan art add on bundle roghts. Makes it an instabuy for me.
