Ok, it's cold turkey time...

Product Library got seven pages bigger during Easter

Yeah. I bought a lot, too.
I can relate.. 15 pages here since the animation plugin..it just seemed like every other day something on my list popped up on sale...
The star trek stuff blew me away.. and I thought Easter was outstanding this year! Collecting the art is part of the fun for me.. but I guess I kinda feel like you do whenever you go back for seconds on Thanksgiving and sit back into the lounge chair with a tummy food baby....like that was a lot..
but it was so fun and good
is there such a thing as a DAZ hangover?

Thank you very much for the synopsis, that greatly helps. Just watching the previews I'm kind of leery of watching it because it looks like it is a very frustrating movie and I have enough going on in my life to be frustrated about. I don't need things adding to it when I'm relaxing trying to get things off my mind. Thanks again!
You are very welcome and happy Easter.

Have you, or anybody here, watched Strawberry Mansion? Its setting is a supposed, utopianish futuristic 2035, more New Wave-ish flick, where people can tape dreams on a VCR. The tax auditor, while collecting taxes on thoughts and dreams, drives an immaculate 1960's Chevy Corvair, and dresses like a 40s/50s Humprey Bogart. I managed to force myself thru half of it . . . waitng for it to get better. As an avid movie buff, finding something new worth watching takes more effort than it did years ago. Too many choices, and some former A-list actors are doing B-list movies. Last night I googled best movies and came up with some highly recomended, and at 3rd spot was Strawberry Mansion. I thought, cool, guys with wolf heads, and a witch with a brew, right up my DAZ ally. I watched half of it, until the son arrived, close to the final act it went downhill fast. It went from promising to off course. I found myself wondering if someone found a half-written script from the 60's in some estate sale boxes, and attempted to finish it. I know now Audley and Birney conjured up this and Egbert gave it 4.5 stars, but I doubt I could have suffered through the entire thing, even if I drank an entire bottle of wine or a bunch of rum. So, I reluntantly settled on the free movie, Napoleon.
My first thought about the movie Napolean was, wow, dere are, no french accents? What ees up with dat? The combo of excessive blood/guts, zombie and war movies, are not on my 'gotta see list' but I do occasionally indulge in the odd one, usually because of hubby. World War Z (humans vs zombies) and Saving Private Ryan, were well done. Loved The Creator (sci-fi, humans vs robots), but, this one, Napolean, starring Joaquin Phoenix, as Napolean, was for me, a 5 star hands down. The plot was great. But, Strawberry Mansion despite having themes, falters/crashes when it comes to a decent plot. I've seen trippy movies and loved them (You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Alice in Wonderland 2010, Shutter Island,) but not this one. How Strawberry Mansion could do a u-turn, have no sense of direction after establishing off course and lose the story line, yet still get a 4.5 from Rotten Tomatoes, I honestly don't get it. Luckily my hubby's fender strat (needed a pickup rewired) is ready at Guitar Center, so I have to stop rambling and hit the road.

Did the freebies move, or are they hiding? Where did they go??!

They hid it with the Star Trek Fanart banner. I have the page bookmarked: https://www.daz3d.com/free-3d-models
Game On 5 - Random ObjectsAdded a star object to the scene. The green scene has no shadows. Makes it look flat but there aren't any shadows creating sharp lines. In the dark image I tried to lighten up the scene by playing with the lights and moving them around. I couldn't get it to lighten up. I think it may be the textures? Experimenting.
Freebie Challenge March 2024 - "Power Source" - Main ThreadSorry this is late, but I haven't been around a lot lately... I don't know if these are helpful, they are pretty old, but they are related to "power sources"...
https://sharecg.com/v/77544/gallery/11/Poser/Dynamic-Field-Generator_Type36

The classic Type 36 Dynamic Field Generators were first introduced by TaiyoTron Interworld Industries in 4213, but most are still in service despite being superseded by smaller and lighter units. Though their prototypes were developed as a variation of the Vector Array Field Emitters commonly used to produce Atmospheric Containment Fields (ACFs) and Light Barrier Fields (LBFs), they were found to be more efficient as power generation units.
https://sharecg.com/v/72022/gallery/11/Poser/Wakefield-ZP_Reactor-Mk67

The SilCorDyne Power Systems, Wakefield Zeta Pulse Reactor Mk.67 is one of the most common Mark 60 Series modular 71,658 units produced under 3 separate licenses, these Zeta Pulse reactors were produced for off-world use during the Cerilleon Wars. Their simple design and robust construction, in addition to their ability to be linked in tandem to other units, made it possible for them to be used to provide large amounts of energy to weapons systems, defense shields, military bases and remote production outposts. After the war many were replaced with newer more efficient units and resold as surplus to financially strapped colonies or privately funded research facilities. Over 80% are still in operation.
And lastly there is this, basically a background set created for the above promo image...
https://sharecg.com/v/72034/gallery/11/Poser/Very-Large-Facility-Set
Its a big (really big) set with a center cooling pit for the reactor, but there is an option to hide the pit if you don't want to see it... (actual filler panel, not just closing your eyes)... Though I think the pit is good if you need a pit for a bad guy to fall down while fighting a daring hero in a life or death struggle to prevent the jerk from destroying the world or at least a planet or something.
Anyhoo... I'm going back into exile because the page has crashed two times already and in conjunction with the annoying ads I'm kinda unhappy with the addition of the ads and business as usual signing out/freezing/crashing... poops on that.
Later folks... hope this was useful to someone.

EULA Update & Editorial Licenses Coming to DazTotte said:
So far there is really no information AFAIK that can be used to identify if a product has an editorial license when it has been installed in Studio.
Something I mean to do (I did purchase the Star Trek stuff, but I'm not installing it until I can clearly sort out that it's restricted) is to see if I can sort out a script to watermark all the library images. And for the morphs, probably renaming them with (EL) at the start of their labels so that it's clear they're restricted.
This will need me to specifically *flag* that these things are EL and watch out carefully for product updates overwriting the thumbnails, but it's a start.
Star Trek Builders Unite 8: THE REBOOTRead the description on that. He explains that he privatized everything until he gets this glitch sorted out.
I can personally attest to the fact that they're still "somewhere" because in my purchasses folder on my account they're all still there. Not just the 'Trek ones I bought (which is basically all of them - don't ask how I could afford that) but all of his conversions, Marvel, Star Wars, Life is Strange etc.
There's Always Another Sale Thread -- Discussions Only Pt 2I was going to get the bundle and the inexpensive addons, but stopped when I saw the editorial licenses. A shame-these cars look kind of cool. I've already dropped enough money ever for editorial licenced assets for the Star Trek bundles, which I can't use outside of just making the renders on my computer. ELs are terrible and I will not spend any more money on them.
EULA Update & Editorial Licenses Coming to DazGiven that some parts of today's car bundle have the restricted licence and other parts don't, I feel I need to re-express my displeasure at the extremely poor way these products are marked on store.
It has long been possible to add an EL product to the basket without the store showing that it's EL. I know users have added some new Daz+ item to a cart to trigger a sales deal without ever properly inspecting the product page. One can add an item to the cart from the store's list page, check out with it, download it and use it without ever being shown a notification of the EL licence.
Now that bundles can apparently include a mix of EL and non-EL products, we now have an entirely new way for users to purchase these products without being informed.
Bundles SHOULD NOT include a mix of licences without being clear about the restrictions on the main bundle page; (Personally, I would argue that mixed bundle licences shouldn't be a thing at all, but if it is going to happen, it HAS to be clearly shown). The Star Trek Fan-Art bundle at least showed that the bundle was EL on its product page; this bundle does not have any warning on the bundle page about the mixed licencing.
I continue to maintain that if Daz actually care about users following licences, they need to make this clearer in the store - in the thumbnail listings and in the cart - and provide a clear way to make it possible to keep track the restricted usage in Daz Studio itself; I do not have the time or patience to have to double check the licences on any asset I've grabbed out of Smart Content.

Campfire stories
Out of luck to find work, Will went to the camp site at the high peek of mount Souza. There he met Chris, a former star-fleet pilot, and proud owner of a ship named Century Goose. Chris was in company with his first mate, Naomi, and the bot DBU-1802. Chris was looking for an additional crew member for his transportation operations, as Naomi had decided to jump ship and retire.

Not to be late for a wedding
The crew of the spaceship Century Goose, got a very odd transport request. Crates with special flowers for the wedding of the daughter of Governor Fidel van Stout, Gabriella van Stout. The wedding was to take place in the only town on the planet Foxton, Foxton city. The flowers are very special can cannot be grown at Foxton, as they require an atmosphere with a high level of Argon, an atmosphere humans cannot survive in. The flowers can only grow on Basilax XII, far out in the outer rim. Suddenly, on the way back, the Argon FLTZ feeder unit sounded an alarm. There was some kind of blockage in the heat exchange unit, but a quick repair fixed it.

Computer says no
Will, Kento and Chris, three independent out rim cargo transporters, by some called smugglers, arrived at the moon Firo-VII to refuel their vessel Century Goose. The automatic fuel station refused to accept their transponder codes, it just said "Computer says no". Chris, who had worked at a similar station knew where to give it a little nudge. After the little nudge it said "The codes are old but they still checks out" and then they could finally fuel up.

A political marriage
When they finally reached Foxton city on Foxton, the flowers were delivered and Will thought that this was it, but, Governor Fidel van Stout asked Will to be the unrelated witness at the marriage. A marriage witness is a tradition here in the outer rim, to prevent forced marriages. The witness has one purpose, to check that both parties are committed to the marriage by their own free will. Will realised that in this case, Gabriella van Stout was not. Her father has a huge debt to Sir Davac, his soon to be son in law, a debt that would be erased by the marriage.

The Escape
Will took Miss van Stout under the arm and they made a quick exit through the church backdoor. He found an air motorcycle, and they rode off towards the old water mine, in ancient times call an oasis. There, they met Max Fredricks, privateer and smuggler. They decided to come aboard his large ship, and leave Foxton for good. Mr Fredricks looked at Will and said, when Miss Stout could not hear, "I think you have something going on there..."

The Kiss
After they successfully escaped Foxton, and took a lift with Max Fredricks to the small moon of Zepa-VII, Will and miss Stout finally got s moment for themselves. Miss Stout said at the small bar table: "Will, you are my knight in shining armour, my hero, my prince!". Will got so touched that he moved over to her side, and kissed her, and poof, he was turned into a gigantic toad, and they lived happily ever after.

Hey there @Mattymanx - I'm a big fan of your work! The site I pulled the model from does not explicitly list any licenses for use, so I've reached out to the author to find out directly from them. I'll update when and if I hear anything back. I'd want to UV map the model before I released it, and I'm fairly novice at that - do you think you could help me out if it comes back favorable?

I did some work converting a Beretta 950B (.22 short) 3D CAD object I found online. Was quite the learning experience. Ultimately, I modified a duplicated barrel object to add a treaded extension, rigged everything with sliders, created a few material presets, etc. Unfortunately, the mesh is high poly, and because I didn't make the mesh myself, I don't believe I can release it. Also, I didn't unwrap the meshes for UV maps, so the materials look flat. I did post a suggestion here for "Modern Compact/Concealed Weapons", hoping Porsimo sees it...

. Yes, Danish comedian Victor Borge was a very funny guy as well as a good pianist (when he wanted to be). Several comedic skits. But probably the most famous is his phonetic punctuation marks skit. Well, it was very funny in the '60s.
