Not a subscriberCAR AND BIKE LOVERS THREAD - MARK VThis would be a cool 3d model
As usual forum is FUBAR and not loading images
Here is a link

The thing is I know that most of the people who visit the Carrara forum would swap out many of the shaders anyway, but posting to ShareCG is different.

You could try searching the forum for the product name, if that is a promo image for a product - someone may already have asked. If it's a game screen shot or the like it may be a maixture of sources.
yeap it's agame image but atleast if i someone able to let me know what skin has been used on her i maybe able to get even closer but so far it got to be a character without adding to much other morphs because i've seen her in other game as well.

Hi,
I have a odd issue.
I use Daz-Deals on Firefox and it appears to be omitting some (2153) items from the shop page; this shows 42145 items (I have pictures but the forum barfs when I try to paste them in or upload them)
Whilst on Opera (without Daz-Deals) it shows 44298 items
This happens regardless of whether I have "signed into" my wishlist or not; Firefox on a different laptop without Daz-Deals puports to show all items (haven't counted them yet to confirm ;D )
Also, I do not have any Hidden Items in Daz-Deals.
Curious, but not deperate, to know which items I'm missing out on ...
Thank you for a helpful add-on
Do you have "Show Mature Content" checked on the store page?
Website improvement DAZ3D.COM - Product metadata/keywordsIt isn't exactly a product improvement, but relates to products... specifically, locating products. The website desperately needs an overhaul and one of the biggest areas would be that of metadata. Locating a product is often difficult and the metadat is sorely lacking. You can search all around a product you've seen before and still never find it. Most of the time I resort to going to google and doing a search out there in order to find something on the DAZ site. That's pretty sad. With advances in AI, there has to be engines that would analyze an image and generate keywords. This would do a good deal of the heavy lifting in generating some additional product search terms. The invetory of products is huge, ant the task is daunting, I'm sure. But starting with newer products and working backwards would make sense. And moving forward, initiate a requirement for new products to include broader general search terms. I mean this should be of great interest to DAZ as it drives sales. One cannot purchase what one cannot find. While your at it, have PAs list other (indirect) products used in generating promotional images. This also would increase sales. Anyone agree with this notion?

I did some basic modeling of props from Gilligan's island, inspired by Dave's wacky modeling thread. He had posted the SS Minnow, and I thought the castaways could use some props. I did quick and dirty models of the radio, a coconut cream pie, one of the coconut cups, and one of the fancy bamboo drinking glasses with the straw and umbrella. With Carrara's UVMapping and 3D Paint tools rather crude, I intended to post the Carrara props here in the forum threads, then maybe revisit the models down the road with better UVMapping and texturing tools. Maybe post cleaned up models with PBR shaders over at ShareCG, which would also be compatible with Carrara, but also the various other rendering programs. Argh. The forum is bonking my uploads and I am tired of trying to post the zip files and test renders.
Am trying to decide if it is worth uploading the Carrara models with not-so-good shaders to ShareCG and posting a link here. Or, should I stick with my original plan and not post to ShareCG until I get around to making PBR shader versions.
Grr.

Trying to attach the zip file. Fingers crossed.

Maybe they're using an AI forum, and it is censoring!

Basically you can't use the DAZPLUS coupon on DAZ+ items because they are already so heavily discounted. You can, however, use the SAVESIX one on non-new DAZ+ items when you have at least $18 of qualifying items mincluding the non-new DAZ+ ones.
I know about the $18 for the other coupon, but I don't always use the coupon just for the sake of using it. I watch my pennies hard. For the Daz+ coupon, they essentially give you $6, does it really matter what I use it for? You pay up front for the membership. The other forum threads pretty much have a common theme for how promotions work.

Options for searching the store?I am not sure, but I think something has gone seriously wrong during the last sale in Dec 2022 and it continues today. When I looked at certain PA's pages, click on what I own, come up with 'nada', yet I know I own something, because the item is in my product library, or say there is '27 of 50' showing before the search (made up number example). I often decide on wether to buy a product by a PA I don't recognize off hand, by seeing if I bought them before. With name changes, or new ones, this is necessary. There are PAs I stay away from now, and others I like, and want to keep an eye out for, who are still new. There is one dress by esha, that never showed up in her store, yet its materials do. I don't own either, and have both on wishlist. Both past the 60 day window for sales. Only the material set showed up.
For a 'type' of item, I find certain words helpful, then try fining down the choices with the sidebar. But that is tricky, I can't seem to unselect something, once I have selected it? Not sure what I am doing wrong.
But frustration is a great money saver I agree.
DAZ Horse 3 - will there actually be any support this time?Hi CWRW!
I had years with no Daz emails (so relied on dropping in, and then later on DazDeals emails), and then suddenly they started coming again. It may be that your email bounced too many times, and so you were blocked, or it could be that your email provider blocked Daz as SPAM, You might but in a ticket (didn't work for me), and/or it might just spontaneously come back. Good to see you around. (-Dakorillon)CWRW said:

Those are beautiful! In regards to your comment about notification emails, there have been issues with them of late as well as forum problems with the icons and attachments. It all seems to come and go but Daz is aware of the problem, so hopefully, they can get it fixed in the near future.
Thanks Frank! Hmm... I haven't gotten any Daz emails in a few months. I had for years anf they just stopped one day all of a sudden and none since. I hope the problem hasn't been going on that long:) I have no idea why I stopped getting the daily Daz emails. So instead I just drop in here once in a while.

Wacky Modelling ~ In Carrara ~Coconut Cream Pie
A must have. Fits in own space on the same default UV Map as the radio, but I suspect most Carrarians will change out the textures anyway. Single Diffuse map for multiple props can save a few resources. Left some space on the UVMap for the coconut drinking cups, which I will do next. For some reason, the 3D paint tool would not let me paint on this cream pie model. Hmmm. May update with some morphs to splat around a person's face, and to scoop out one finger tasting.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Argh. Forum bonkers preventing upload again. Will try again to upload later. Grrr.

Some Carrara Hairstyles For the CommunitySince the forum is back up for the moment, let me quickly put up the next one too. Here's Whoa Hair:
https://sharecg.com/v/99872/view/5/3D-Model/Whoa-Hair
(Yeah, I'm really terrible about naming hair. There's really no thought process involved at all. In this case I was going for a casual medium length, slightly messy hairstyle like you might see on a surfer. Therefore 'whoa' was the name at first, thinking I'll rename it later. But since I've learned it's important to save my work quickly and often as I iterate, it just ended up sticking. So I'm not so sure it's apt, but... now it's just 'whoa' hair forever I guess :) )

I have always liked modelling and drawing, way back when I was just 4 years old I would model stuff with plasticene and lego and I guess I never stopped doing wacky stuff. So to model something and render it is just what I like to do, as long as it doesn't take too long to do

like this SS Minnow ... I started it a couple days ago and did some more on it yesterday and I'll post it today for anyone who wants to experiment or improve upon..
It has a couple morphs which has to be looked for... the basic shell is there but instruments and other details are waiting to be done if anyone wants to model them.
The model was started from a cube and everything except the text and wheel and lifebuoy was extruded and/or extracted from the mesh.

have fun it's all marooned in the zip

Thank you so much for all your models.
Here, give the castaways a radio. I purposefully did not remain completely faithful to the Packard Bell model used on the show. Should still be recognizable in fanart and parody scenes. Of course, started as a cube.
See attached zip.
Argh! Forum uploads still yucky. I will try again later.
EDIT: Success! Enjoy. Note - you will probably want to swap out some of the shaders, like metal for the antena and glass for the glass.

awesome radio @diomede

reminds me to find more stuff from the island to model
Fed up with awful and ancient scene tabmarble said:
This is a long-standing source of frustration with DAZ Studio. I click on something in the scene tab and nothing happens. Or everything happens - i.e. a whole bunch of unintended items are selected. Or the wrong thing happens: the thing I selected suddenly becomes parented to something else (and I have to search for it). I have reported this to support (as ever - no action, no update ... I really don't know why the stock answer here for every complaint is to report it to support as there will be colonies on Mars before any action is taken by the DAZ team).
I used to think that maybe my mouse was too sensitive but it is clear that this only happens in the DAZ Studio interface - the mouse is fine for everything else I use on my PC. Also, it only happens in the scene tab. All the other tabs select and de-select just fine. The problem seems to be a lag and/or an over-sensitivity to movement which causes an unintended drag-and-drop action or multiple selection. I'm pretty sure the problem gets worse with every new update to DAZ Studio. I know this has been discussed here before and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one to report it. I also know that the UI QT version is very old but do we really have to wait for DAZ Studio 5 for any improvement?
Just letting off steam, I know nothing will be done as a result of a forum post (or 100 posts about the same thing).
It is infuriating indeed if you have an item selected, and you slightly miss the checkbox by a millimetre then the item selected slips from its position, and gets parented to the item with the checkbox along with its child elements as well!
It's an incredibly LAZY way of programming scene item behaviour… ⇐(Sorry, but it's very infuriating!) My guess is that it's that way because it's designed to give each scene element the ability to be parented to each other via the drag and drop method, but without the proper anchor for each item, the order can easily become disrupted by the slightest margin of error…
A possible solution is for each item to have its own ANCHORED grid in the tree, (Like with C4D/Blender/etc…) and program a **click-and-drag system between them, that way random scene elements from the tree aren't thrown all over the place, I seriously doubt that it will get fixed, and will most likely carry on over to DS5 I'll wager.
As it doesn't seem to be seen as a bug… And it isn't a bug as I see it as a design issue, not a bug.
EDIT: What I do is only check the boxes after selecting the scene element, which minimises the jumping behaviour it seems…
EDIT 2: **As in clicking a specific grid and then dragging, and not floating text like with studio… This is only a critique for improvement, and not a random complaint after all, as I'm willingly bound to the program as I rely on it totally for my art. :)
