  • David Hasselhoff figure?

Well I know you can't redistribute FaceGen Artist Pro morph data, it's in their EULA (Singular Inversions), it's for personal use only without an about $2000 license for commercial use.

Their is another product called OneClick (HeadShop) that does a similar, although not as good a job as FaceGen Artist Pro, that you could inquire if they allow redistribution of the morph data. The product is for sale in the DAZ Store and the PA is called Abalone, LLC.

  • Daz Studio 4.10.0 and HeadShop

I hope someone can help me.

I have purchased HeadShop 9.5 for Mac.

I had problems with the terminal part of the installation procedure, since I got the message "operation not permitted". I then disabled the System Integrity Protection using "csrutil disable" and this time the 4postinstall.command was executed. The dzfaceshoploader.dylib is in the plugins folder.

However, when I start DazStudio, the dzfaceshoploader plugin is not loaded and listed red in the installed plugin window. What should I do?

    Thanks

  • Headshop One click

IIRC some various files must be installed to their default locations for Headshop to work properly: Please read through this thread for more info: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2842741/#Comment_2842741

  • Headshop One click

    Help.

Recently had massive virus problem resulting in loss of computers , files, programs etc. ( WS32. Neshuta)

After two weeks work, back to normal almost.

A few months ago had purchased  Headshop One click .

    Installed and worked great

Now, problems...some of which are no doubt resulting from Daz installed on separate internal drive.

DIM box is greyed out for installation, which leaves manual only.

    Have installation program and licence.

Simply: can anyone tell me where in Daz Files are put?

    Thank you

  • Any thoughts on Headshop one click?

I bought it and thought it was ok and at least better than previous versions but soon thereafter I got Facegen and it was so much better that I don't use HeadShop One-Click any more.

You may find the comments in this thread helpful: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2842741/#Comment_2842741

  • Any thoughts on Headshop one click?

I am tempted to buy it since it is on sale and much less pricey than facegen, and all I really want is the face morph shape. But my fear is that cheaper may mean more problems. Has any one tried it?

  • Hello my name is Shannon

    Hi Shannon,

    I'm sorry for your loss.

There are several tools that can create the face from photos, but you need  very good photo resources, and the results vary greatly.

    Here's one:

    • It also has a workshop tutorial you can buy: https://www.daz3d.com/easy-character-creation-with-facegen

    There's also this: https://www.daz3d.com/headshop-oneclick-plugin-win

  • Can I skip or Kill DAZ Connect...which sucks, btw.

so was looking in my daz library folder Runtime/Daz/Characters to check if what I reinstalled was all there and locations as I also have headshop and facemaker pro so need to know locations of bases and I found textures for milman/woman, kids 4, g2 and g8 you textures for the eyes and various parts of the body in the characters section but not any others

I looked everywhere found folders for all the bases in the people section (that not in runtime folder) but the texture folders in each were pics of the icons

so looked in connect and found folders that contained textures couldn't see g3f saw g3m which was hair and folders wit pas names? so loaded studio went to surfaces after loading fig and browse to location which took me to connect and then I noticed something G3F is not classified as Genesis 3 Female she is in a folder called 'raiya' and in that folder are folders for 'eddie" which guess is code name for g3m and "jeane" went back to my daz library/Runtime/Textures and found her and him in the Raiya folder so I've also accidently found out who created the base Genesis 3 figures as Raiya is a PA here

Raiya created the textures, not (as far as I know) the figures. You do seem to be confusing textures (image files that are wrapped around the mdoel) and material presets/poses (files that appear in the content panes, and which have the actual settings file and a thumbnail for display in the content pane).

  • faceshop/headshop to poser

I have been trying to create a new face and I am using an older version of Faceshop ( Faceshop 6 ) because it works on my Mac. I created a head for Michael 4, so I ended up with an Obj file and the Bmp file ( which i edited in Photoshop). I am using Poser Pro 2012 and I am wondering in what directories I put the two files or what extra steps i need to take to get the new head on a Michael 4 in poser? I don't use Daz studio as it never recognizes my Micheal or Victoria models and I would like to only use poser if possible. I looked through the tiny read me file that came with Faceshop 6 an watched the video but it ends without explaining what to do with the the two files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yikes, glad I don't work in that research facility!

And that's pretty much what I am doing every night after dinner.  Although I don't have a suit of armour in my space lol.

Great scene with the coke, love the headshop renders!

So, the back story is my buddy Dave Watson aka Davlin Studios made a bunch of really cool videos with the old Creech using a combination of Poser, C4D and Carrara. But for the life of me I cannot get him to switch to Daz Studio. It's one of those "old dog new tricks" senarios. So, I take every opportunity to kid him via the comic renders when I can. He's a cool guy, remarkable similar in his views to my late father even though he's from another country.

Oh, those are Facegen. Never got any traction with Headshop even though I bought it.

  • HeadShop OneClick Submitted to DAZ - Best in Class! (Commercial)

I also have have the same issue with the OneClick plugin. I get 'Daz model not found' message, and same crash message.

After looking at the video again I changed my Temp directory to the default and tried OneClick again. This time I did NOT get the 'Daz model not found' message. So I loaded a face pic and clicked on the Apply button. Just got the 'Waiting for Headshop' message but nothing happened for about 10 minutesso I closed it. I tried it again after selecting the face surface on a G2F, and the window came up at last. However the 3D head was extremely distorted. Then I got a Low memory message from Windows so I closed and restarted DS. Tried it again and this time it kinda worked and exported to the G2F. But the face texture didn't align well with the geometry. And even worse with different pics. But I clearly need to find better reference pics. So I did get it to work after all. But the setup was confusing and the docs are for the Headshop 10 version. not the OneClick version. That needs to be corrected.

    See attachment.

  • "Brace yourself, my dear wallet! There's always another Sale - and Glitches!"

Remember that Daz will refund your money for purchases that you are dissatisfied with, as long as you request the refund within 30 days of purchase. There is no need to keep products that you find to be a waste of money.

Normally if I am dissastisfied with content, it has been minor and when the sale price was good enough, I don't bother requesting a refund. For $5 or $10... I took a gamble on Headshop Oneclick, I lost, and I knew I just needed to wait for FaceGen Artist Pro to go on a good enough sale. Eventually I got it, and I never asked for a refudn on Headshop... but it was bad enough I wanted to warn other users not to make the same mistake as I made.
In this case, I did request a refund. The first time ever for that.

IMO it's a bad idea not to return stuff that's of poor quality for then they just think it's good enough and probably continue to produce more of the same quality. It's just a bit more difficult with tutorials because you have to work through them to jugde the quality and, even if the quality is low, probably learn something from them anyway, and so it feels a bit unfair to return them.

As for tutorials in general, I think they often heavily overpriced compared to how much work it takes to produce them (I've made several myself, both video and written formats, so I'm talking from experience). So I usually wait until they're heavily discounted.

I purchased this one from the same guy https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-content-creation-mastery-part-2-modeling-clothing and didn't find it very good either. Didn't learn much at all.

    This content:

Is terrible. The guy rambles, loses himself, has a terrible monotone delivery style that makes me want to fall asleep and so far I'm an hour into the "tutorial" which is just a video of a live web session... and he hasn't told me anything I didn't already know.  The price, even discounted, is too high. I don't generally like to trash any content - but at this price, this is as terrible as Headshop OneClick - which is the only other piece of content I've bought in over a year that I felt this strongly about. It feels like he is figuring out how to do it as the video goes along, with a lot of points where he is talking to himself more to the audience and then suddenly, Eureka, "Oh, there you go! That is how you do it!"
He also doesn't understand basic things about PC technology - which is why he can't figure out why DAZ won't install directly to his NAS (my guess, he never mapped his NAS folder as a shared drive with a drive letter on his PC...)
Avoid this content at any price, but especially at the price being asked for it.
I bought it a couple of weeks ago and just got around to watching it now. I tried to give it a chance, but an hour into it, I was going, "this is a waste of my time and was more or less theft of my money..."

It is important to note that the tutorial referenced in this message is by a different artist that the one donovancolbert purchased. Both are co-presented by Digital Art Live, but the actual artist doing the tutorial in https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-content-creation-mastery-part-2-modeling-clothing is Esha, a well respected PA who sells content in the Daz store. I also own this Esha tutorial, and I do think I got value from it.

I purchased one tutorial from Digital Art Live, and returned it shortly after viewing. In my case, I felt like the content did not live up to the hype, as well as the pain of watching a poorly presented "seminar." I don't believe it is a reflection on the artist as much as the "live seminar" format is simply a poor way to create content for sale, (IMHO.)

A much better format would be for the artist to script what they want to tell their audience and then follow the script. The script is the key. With a script, the artist is kept on track, imparting the knowledge they set out to share. Without a script, it's very easy to get sidetracked, talking about things the artist knows, but wasn't prepared to present at the time. Unfair to the artist, and unfair to the person who buys the product. Not to mention, when a Video is being shot with a script, that script can be included as a companion PDF.

I have purchased numerous tutorials since getting into this hobby three years ago, and I'm pretty sure none of them were produced using a script. Except, perhaps, the one on Blender I just purchased, which comes with both videos and PDF.
