Paige Dressus Buttus Stickoutus@mavante Maybe she has a vestigial tail?
I think she's also growing horns.
I've since sent the Paige Dress to the virtual Goodwill Store, and have now draped the character in the Alicia dForce (shudder) dress. I did manage to run a simulation on it last night without dForce crashing my computer (a first), and it did cure the Buttus Stickoutus syndrome. But now I've got so many other issues relative to dForce and animation that I'm starting a new thread on that, hoping someone can help me figure it out. That thread is about to be launched in this subforum, called "How do you animate a character in a dForce outfit?"
Paige Dressus Buttus StickoutusI think that's the correct technical Latin phrase. I am having the dickens of a time trying to get the Paige Dress—which I absolutely love for the project I'm currently doing—to "do right," as we say down South.
I'm attaching an image to show what I'm having trouble with (see technical-term title). This is a WIP, so please ignore anything else in the screen grab, such with her pose and position right now: If I can't get the dress to "drape" sensibly in the pose with her leaning over looking at the jukebox, then I'm going to have to back out and try something else. I can't find any controls/morphs for the dress that fix this.
I also need to have her stand up from that pose, turn around, and look at a camera dollying toward from behind, so I've got to get some control over this dress somehow.
Anybody know any magic tricks for this? Or even just down-to-retro-Earth tips?
ETA: It's also frustrating how the texture "stretches" and gets distorted with the dress shape. Anybody know any way to overcome that, too?

And, here I thought I was the only Kenshi here...
Are you old school and sleep with your sword as well? Me -- for the past three decades.
And have you reached the level of full-stop yet?
As a life-long Martial Artist myself, I can see it with you in your work (which, I've always admired).
I thought I read from you that your line of work was Police when you first came on scene here, so that is what I always have associated you with -- Am I misremembering, or perhaps misread what you wrote?
So, is the 'tkd' in your name for Tae Kwon Do, the Korean way of the hand and foot? Is that your primary Martial lineage?
Also, I am surprised neither you, nor Mike have never noticed the Japanese Kanji in my avatars Hachi-gane (armored headband), but can't blame anyone for not noticing - it is micro and hard, if not impossible to read.
I'm proficient in all the weapons (just a sub-set) on my avatar, but I prefer my Yari to my Jo that I went with there.
Last question; Do you create art as the opposite dynamic to training as I do? You know, the destruction/creation paradigm... I train every day to maim and kill, so art is the balance.
Back on topic :
Great images everyone, and Mike, that Bettie Page-ish, succubus-ish image is a terrific example of your core style. I hope the class yielded great prosperity for you.
Yes TKD does stand for Tae Kwon Do. Very duductive of you. It was my 1st Martial Art and the 1st one that I earned a Black Belt in. I also trained in Kung Fu for my 2nd Black Belt, and now I train in Haidong Gumdo (Korean Sword Art) which is my 3rd Black Belt. I hope to get my 2nd Dan soonish. I ordered a new sword, but it's been held up by the COV-19 virus. I also trained for a few months in Shudo Kan when I was in college, but I only got an orange belt.
I didn't notice your avatar until you mentioned it. Not very observant of me. It's cool.
I'm a restless sleeper, so I don't sleep with my sword. My Kung Fu and Gumdo swords are in a special location. I do have a dagger next to my bed. I've trained with the Chinese long staff, the Chinese broad sword, the Chinese straight sword, and the Korean Kagum (non-sharp sword). My sharp sword, the Korean Jingum, is the one being held up due to the virus (understandble). The Korean swords look very simular to Katanas with a few small differences. A layman probably couldn't tell the difference. I do have some Japanese swords but they are just for display.
You have a good memory, I do work in Law Enforcement, but I'm not a cop/agent at this time. I don't want to say anymore than that. The nature of my work and the fact that I am a swordsman is why I included the symbol for Samurai in my sig. I have served "the people" for almost all of my adult life and I do love Japanese history.
I've seen a lot of negative things over the years, like true evil, so yes, art does help me achieve a ballance. I also volunteer. You have to remind yourself that there is beauty in this world and there are good people worth protecting.

More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)We started an image in the class I taught yesterday. After it ended, I completed my post work and this is what I came up with. Figure is V4 with the Bettie Page morph and hair. Can't recall where I got the devil wings and horns, though.

Congrats for your class !! your approach really cool
This was done using Poser's Real-Time Comic Book feature. The line-work and shadows were rendered in Poser. I did touch ups and coloring manually on my iPad. I did some post-work in Photoshop as well. Its not perfect, there are some micro mistakes I'm sure. I'm just trying to see if I should bring Poser into my work-flow. That do you all think of the Shadows? I know my highlights suck, I'm working on that.

Like Always ..you always bring awesome to epic type NPR

Here's a scene featuring both of the anime-style G2 characters I threw together today.
Cool , yeah G2M surprisingly still good for stylized type render
And this is my last experiment using IRAY and Photoshop . Waiting for Outline work
Cool CAP

Ladies AND Laddies of Mousso appreciation threadI was a little inspired by a pose I saw in a photograph by fant over on Rendo, and I wanted to see what would happen to the draping of a dress by Moonlight001, so.. Romina got volunteered to be the model.
you've done really well here, I've been looking at a lot of images in various things especially old school pinup love Bettie Page can get so many ideas from these can be tricky replicating them though, often have to turn off limits in whatever bodypart your manipulating

I'm not entirely happy with it, and I may tweak it a bit before posting it to my gallery, but I thought I'd share it and see what you guys think.

Love it...
More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)I needed a cover for a fanzine, so I whipped this up. And then I decided that I didn't like it. That monster is just ridiculous looking. Not scary, not life-like (is he a statue?), so I decided to ditch this design and replace the creature with that sexy Bettie Page imp. I was going to have her leaning against the skull, or lounging atop it, in some sort of sexy pin-up pose. BUT... I'm outta time. I need to shift focus to a cover for an RPG supplement, and I just don't have the time to redo this cover. So, my "rejected" version is going to print tomorrow.
I don't dislike this cover, mind you, I just think it could have been better with a more interesting focal point and a little more work on the smoke and lighting effects. As always, my workflow is based in Poser Pro 11 and Clip Studio Paint.

Interesting. Did you make it in Poser?
Yes, Original renders in Poser Pro 11 with clean-up in Clip Studio Paint. Sorry, I should have mentioned my workflow. This needs some more clean-up on the leg and the hair.

Is Daz going to make a "standard" Anime and Toon figure?I've been using Genesis 8 and Cartoonized, but it doesn't offer a lot in terms of eye customization. Sakura 8 comes with custom cartoony eyes, but unfortunately there isn't a good male counterpart to go with.
Was tempted to pick up Paige and Pace during a recent sale, but they're a bit too specifically designed - i.e. I can't imagine making them look like older characters, or them fitting well with hair and clothing that wasn't created with that style in mind. But then apart from Cartoonized for G8M and G8F, there aren't really any toon characters this generation that have both male and female versions.
I'm starting to think I should've hedged my bets (impulse purchases) on Genesis 3 and earlier. A lot of Genesis 2 outfits I've seen even tend to look geared more toward a cartoony style, while my G8 outfits veer more toward high detail.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 12I have 20 and all but Genesis 8 Female Base and Victoria 8 are Toon Characters so I've been a bit obsessive myself. I didn't think I had so many but they're so good.
21 I guess really since Cartoonized for Genesis 8 Female essentially creates a new character but that's sort of iffy though cause it's not a character by itself.
In fact after telling myself I wasn't going to buy Toon Boy, Toon Girl, Toon Hero, Toon Larry or the toonish Gustave HD for Genesis 8 Male and Emil for Genesis 8 Male but buy all of them I did, The only Genesis 8 toon character I haven't gotten yet is Toon Dad and it's on my list now. Arguably Carryn 8 HD for Genesis 8 Female, Tobyn 8 HD for Genesis 8 Male, and Babyfication for Caryn 8 and Tobyn 8 are all cartoon type characters on my buy list.
I had told myself at first only 3DU toon characters or DAZ Originals toon characters but you see that plan was a flop!
My Genesis 8 Females are actually a short list: here are the 20:
Genesis 8 Female Base, Victoria 8, Betty for Genesis 8 Female, Hanna for Genesis 8 Female, Dolly for Genesis 8 Female, Sakura 8, Paige for Genesis 8 Female, Dorothie for Edie 8, Edie 8, Pix Tilwig for Edie 8, Etta HD for Edie 8, FWSA Destini for The Girl 8, FWSA Lyla for The Girl 8, The Girl 8, Hazel for The Girl 8, VYK Betsy for The Girl 8, VYK Judy for The Girl 8, VYK Midge for The Girl 8, Toon Generations Essentials for Genesis 8 Female, Toon Girl for Genesis 8 Female
DS Beta Slows to Crawl when trying to use Fit Control for G8FI'm using DS Beta 4.11.0.383 and when I try to use the Fit Conttrol for G8F dresses the program slows to a crawl! I don't know if the Fit Control for G8M is doing this. Anyone else experiencing this or know of a fix?
What item is this and other items are on your figure? We are aware of the issue but cannot pin point the problem since this only happens with certain items. So the more info the better.
This happens with any clothing item on my G8 Figure, right now the G8F figure has
Bettie Heels G8F shoes
ShirtG8 top
ShortsG8 shorts
Basic Lingerie Panty
Looking Back Earrings
Caleela Hair Genesis 8 Femalebut it also happens when she is wearing the dForce Delicious dress. Also it occurs with other G8 characters so it is not character specific.
Cartoon Eyes for Cartoonized?Wouldn't Sasuke be limited to wearing clothes that were designed for females, though? I've actually never tried cross-dressing with the Genesis figures, but if it's possible, it could come in real handy (You don't wanna know how long I've been searching for the right pair of 'adventurer boots', thinking I've found it only to see, "Oh wait, those are high-heel boots.")
But in the grand scheme, I don't think I'd have much use for Sakura. I'm aiming for a style that's closer to Paige and Pace, but without being Paige and Pace. (Maybe they have eyes I could use).
As for texture swapping...is a separate utility necessary? Wouldn't it just be a matter of replacing the diffuse/bump/specular/etc maps in the surfaces tab? Or is it one of those weird cases where G8M eye UVs are dramatically different from G8F eye UVs?
