Saved Morphs, and location issues.
You mentioned 'directory' and 'folder'... do you mean the ones in data folder, or 'Path' in Parameter Settings of the morph dial? Or any screenshot?
Saved Morphs, and location issues.I've created some morphs and saved them as morph assets. I've since using them have moved them to child directory. If I load a default G8F or the Dev Load G8F they are in the appropriate folder. However If I load a custom character using those morphs they are still located in the old directory.
Removing the morphs loading and saving the character, then reinstalling the morph does fix the issue, but is there a simpler way?
I've tried changing the parameter settings and re-saving the morph asset, but that doesn't work.

... edited ... if only someone would have told me to forget about the expensive headshop hoaxes in this realm.Well, one person's cure can be to another pure poison so we do have to be somewhat careful how we word things. What you may notice over time is that what we can do, and do do, is remind people that if they bought [any product] within the past 30 days it [normally] can be returned. I'll say normally because one has to be careful as so many sales have trigger items. If by purchasing A, B is a very good price; and then one returns A, they'll find B is suddenly not such a good price. So yes, we do end up with a number of products gathering dust.
For use with Face Transfer is a set of morphs which were instant buys for most of us using Face Transfer. They address the most common issues that Face Transfer presents. https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-shapes-for-genesis-8
Years back there was one lady who was making some fantastic morphs for the legacy V4 and M4 figures. Basically she just used dFormers. Had a good eye ;-)
It can help [a lot] to use reference images in the scene [put squared picture on a square plane] - whether in D/S or in a modeler. PureRef is a popular utility for such projects. Many of the pros seem to use ZBrush. Now ZBrush plus some additional plugins [not free] seems to me to be the way to go if seriously trying to get very professional about making characters. Can do a marvellous job with matching resource skins to models as well. There are some videos over on YouTube.
[the super serious have way more money and wire people up to computers, etc. all of which is a bit overkill for one little game avatar or whatever]
Simple way of fixing snaggy teeth in G8 import results from HeadShop?....Thx for your FB. My next attempt with HeadShop had ok teeth. My attempt after that ended in yet another garbled results pane (with an export that will near crash your scene or worse) which means the program has turned unusable again for a long time. One may find that after a year the plugin spontaneously works again and then you can go ahead with one or two head transfers before it dies again. One thing it cannot deal with at all is make a 8.1 transfer and after that try an 8 version (et v.v.). If HeadShop was an actual shop I would suspect people would throw bricks through their windows on probably a daily basis

LOL, that creased me up ! If so, I might be the 1st one... Anyway, forget about it, let's find a way out by ourselves

It's not like the case that one head morph was ever ERC Freezed with a partial delta vertice change on a body part. I myselft have never succeeded in fixing such 'distorted teeth and mouth' case with this way.
But pls definitely try it as we'd like to know if it can help with fixing such an issue coming from Headshop.

After this epic failure, my HeadShop managed to do one other face transfer that I would rate 2.3 out of 10, but definitely progress compared to snaggy girl (normal teeth for instance). Unfortunately on the next HeadShop run that program once again imploded, probably useless for the next 12 months after which something is spontaneously ok again and you can try one or two face transfers before it breaks down again.
Oh, boy. Excited I tried "FaceGen Artist demo" today. Now that looked promising! AI you say!? Wow! Gave it a go. Absolutely rubbish. It didn't crash, but the import result couldn't be further from the original; it turned a pretty girl into a butch female bouncer of a night club. Cool but pretty useless.
Guess FT and DAZ's own kazillion shaping sliders is what I am stuck with, which is ok I guess, cranking out new faces is pretty easy with these, in fact the result is sometimes stunning; if only someone would have told me to forget about the expensive headshop hoaxes in this realm.
DUF FILES PREVIEWOne consideration for larger thumbnails is that larger ones also take longer to load. This doesn't become apparent early on, until you have a large library with these thumbnails.
This is where having a fast SSD and solid overall PC can help make a difference. But if you have a slower HDD or limited RAM, you may not want to dive into too many large thumbnails.
It is better to have a modest thumbnail with larger tip pic when you hover over it. If there is no tip pic, large thumbs can actually drag DS down a little. Even an especially large tip pic can take a moment to load on a slower PC.
So these things all have to be considered. Just like having a huge morph library can cause Genesis to load slow, thumbnails that are too large can also cause problems of their own when you have too many of them.

The best bang for your buck is Lorenzo and Loretta LoRez for background characters. If they need to hold up closer to the camera, you can get good results with any generation of Genesis, but more recent generations have higher-resolution textures and are optimized for PBR. Genesis 9 comes with a few different skin textures and a unisex figure, so you can get more mileage out of the starter essentials. A few morph packs, starting with the Daz basic packs, give you a lot of options for creating characters, and OutofTouch makes mega wardrobe packs that give you a lot of different options for clothing.
Thanks - I'll take a look! Is there a list of what the base installation comes with? Searched around but I couldn't find anything specific.

Cannot see UltraSceneryXT under the Add Pane menuHey guys,
On Windows 10:
I have tried to install the UltraSceneryXT via DazCentral, DIM, as well as, manual install.
Yet, I am unable to initialize the UI from under the Add Pane menu - the following link is to a screenshot:
http://kronusproductions.com/uploads/4_daz/ultra-scenery-not-under-add-pane.pngSorry for the link, but I have tried to use the image icon and it never loads - it just shows a red X. Also, when I try to attach a file, the browser just continiously notifies of uploading, but nothing is uploaded.
As you can see by the screenshot, the UltraScenery XT appears to be installed under the "All" products tab but it is neither under the Add Pane menu nor under the About installed plugins dialog box.
I am sure that this issue has to do with the multiple versions that I have installed - 4.12 and 4.20.
For a manual install, first, I check under the Edit> Preferences> Content tab> clicked on the Content Directory Manager button> expanded the DAZ studio formats menu to see each directory path for manual install purposes
Yet, after manual install, no matter which version of Daz that I open, I cannot see the UltraSceneryXT UI available for either version 4.20 or 4.12.
I have installed other plugins before with no issue. Is there a special place to install this plugin?
Also on my Macpro 2016 - OS 10.14.6 - I was able to install successfully, along with seeing the UltraSceneryXT under the Add Pane menu, but it just creates a terrain that is a dead/lifeless terrain, no matter what other scene that I try to apply
http://kronusproductions.com/uploads/4_daz/ss1.png
http://kronusproductions.com/uploads/4_daz/ss2.png
http://kronusproductions.com/uploads/4_daz/ss3.png
For the question on the mac, is the lack of generating a scene, because I do not have NVIDIA card on my mac?
When I transfer the saved duf file from my Macpro to my Windows 10 machine, I still cannot apply any of the templates from under the products menu. No matter what I do, the result is that all I see is the lifeless terrain which you can see in the last screenshot above.
As usual, thanks in advance
How to Transform Blender's Character Model into G8You would need to import a zeroed, base resolution Genesis 8 figure into Blender (taking care to preserve the vertex order) and use its tools to push the shape of the Genesis 8 mesh into the shape of the character, without adding or removing geometry. Export the new shape, again preserving vertex order, and then use Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro to load it as a morph: make sure that you use the same preset on exporting the OBJ from DS and importing the morph as that is needed to make sure that scale and orientation are correct. For maps, you would need to have those applied to the original figure, then bake them to the imported Genesis 8 mesh - I'm pretty sure Blender can do this, but I can't give the steps.

Oh it would be somewhat challenging. Thankfully one can select by surfaces though to hopefully get all the teeth and whatever else needs to be reached inside the head. I would recommend working with the figure's mouth open.
For further morphing to fix the teeth back into the headshape, I would use the bridge to Hexagon etc. That's presupposin' I could even get HeadShop to work on my system. Facegen and Face Transfer, and a "kazillion" purchased and free morphs can also produce many a character.
Indeed ~ but I still pass over HeadShop. I'm building a workflow with Face Builder + Wrap...Reallusion Headshot might be an option as well, will see if they could be game changers or not...
G2 on G8/8.1I can't disagree with the good advice offered in here. I don't convert G2 clothing. Ever. But if I were to do so (and this is just my take on it) I would transfer it with the TU, apply a dynamic dForce modifier, stiffen that up a bit throughout, and then run a sim in the standard A-Pose. Then I would export it to a wavefront, re-import it, and see how well it worked. I would carry that through multiple iterations tweaking those settings. If anything needed cleaning up after that, I would pull it into Blender and clean it up.
I know you wanted an easier solution but it isn't there in my experience. Doing anything remotely outside the box with Daz Studio requires some facility with a mesh editor at the very least. That sort of thing isn't Daz's strong suit. Good luck with this![Released] Turbo Loader for Genesis 8 and 8.1 [Commercial]vholf said:

Hello, I just noticed Turbo Loader Scene Configuration "Scan" action only scans the current frame, I used different expressions in different timeline frames and only the current frame gets the morph detected and included. Any way to make the scan work across all frames?
Thank you.
Really? Sounds like I have a bug

I might have found another one. When there is more than one G8 figure in the scene of the same gender, only one will be scaned by Turbo Loader Scene Configuration. I noticed not all the morphs where loaded for all figures involved in the scene, and when I searched the log for "Inspecting", I only see 1 male and 1 female G8 scanned, although there are 2 male and 3 females in the scene, all with different set of morphs being used.
If I delete the inspected figure, then another single figure of the same gender is inspected.
I also tested this with a blank scene and just 2 G8 Females, only one gets inspected.
For the previous bug I just wrote a script to set all used morphs in a figure to some low value at frame zero so all morphs in the timeline will be scanned, but this one I can do nothing about and it's a breaking bug for me, I need all characters in the scene to be inspected.
Ok, I can confirm this bug.

There're only 2 converters for G9 now...which one? Anyway, check the hidden properties of G9 in Currently Used, see if there're still some unexpected pJCM or CBS relate to EyeBlink or Eyelid... If there're, delete them as well from the file path in Parameter Settings.
I actually found the culprit in an old converted and distorted morph from the RS converter which remained in my system. Once I delted it the problem was gone. Thanks a lot!
Great! You're welcome ~
