* Closed * RRRR - "Back from the dead" Render Contest
Lot of fun stuff here - Comments on some of my favs since last time.
luci45 #5 Photos from the Ethereal Realms
Excellent render - the lighting, the transparency work, the palette are all great. The concept is really good to - a Netflix series in the making.Zethara Pull #4 Pushing Her Way Back
Intriguing render - pulls the reader in with the DOF foreground elements. Twilight Zone-esque with a hint of Magritte. Well done.Gopherus #03 THEY RE BACK!
Very imaginative use of the items pulled. The poinsettas in the bubbles is very clever. The splash of color against the desaturated palette is very artistic.aki3d Pull #2 HELLMOUTH
Vivid red, the hands coming up from the earth, great choice to cast the the central character in cool colors (Dante-esque) is a very wise choice to make this image stand out from other hell-themed renders.OBanion_02 Forget the Blood! I Need Coffee!
Fun dialogue - great way to spin your 'go-to' genre into an RRRR scene. Composition is good, using the forground element to frame out the scene.adamsrobt Pull #3 Recurring Dream
The play of light and shadow is gorgeous. Composition is spot on - two columns, two arched windows, two lovers to really bring the eye to them. Great work.Totte: #4 The Bot Doctor
Great choice to use sepia tones to give this sci-fi take a touch of a steampunk flare along with the goggles and clothing. The fog is really well done to give this image depth and ambiance.Bunyip02 Draw # 5 The Spell
I like the young boys incredability conveyed in the pose. The story is there before you read the text. Great pose and use of elements.Look forward to what you all come up with next.... I'm going to try to get another one in.
Loading a default figure will load other character morphs along with it.If these are store products make sure there hasn't been an update. If you instal manually, through Daz Central, or through Install Manager then load the base figure (ideally the devLoad version if there is one), Edit>Figure>Zero>Zero Figure Shape, Edit>Figure>Memorise>Memorise Figure Shape, File>Save As>Spport Assets>Save Modified Assets (and note the items listed as that should identify the guilty parties for reporting to the store or artists).

I am not an expert, but can you uninstall the DIM you have and download a new copy? Is it possible the copy you have got corrupted during the download?
I hope others see this and offer other advice that may be more helpful.
I have downloaded, uninstalled and re-downloaded another copy, and still I always get that same ""dzInstall.ini" error and this one "Error connecting to CMS. Cannot be started by client." I'm starting to lose hope :c, I have tried everything to solve this error, but something I somehow managed to do, was to download some of the content that was included in the download in daz central, but when downloading Daz studio and postgresql the download stays at 89% and the "install" button appears again, the same happens when I try to re-download daz studio and postgresql in DIM.
The dzinstall message is not an error, it is expected behaviour if you have not used the stand-alone installers.
Excuse my misinformation, but what are stand-alone installers?
There is an option, though not one that should be mixed with using Install Manager, to download an installer and run it directly instead of using the install manager application. That uses dzinstall.ini to store the places to which it installed the applications, so the install managers look to see if that exists and if it does they use it to find the application. It is better not to mix stand-alone installers like these and DIM or Daz Central.
How can I directly download Daz Studio without using Daz Manager or Daz Central? I have a vague memory of downloading Daz Studio directly from the Daz website, but I can't find anything similar on the website or maybe I'm just bad at searching for it
As I said, it is not recommended. It is especially likely to eb a bad idea when the existing install method is causing issues.
So, there's no solution to this problem? I'm really desperate, I don't know what else to do to solve it.
All I am saying is that the message about dzinstall.ini is not important and can be ignored. It is information on context, not an error that needs resolving.

I remember when everything from Daz was executable. They fill out the add-and-remove programs tremendously.
Maybe it has nothing to do with what you said, but I remember having downloaded directly from the official site an .exe that allowed me to install Daz Studio without Daz Central or DIM. I don't know if it's still available, but I think that had solved this same problem.

Ron's Photoshop Brushes do not appear in DIM or DAZ CentralI purchased Ron's Hydro Explosion photoshop brushes. The asset does not appear in DIM or DAZ Central for downloading. The option for manual install does not work in the DAZ page. How do I download it?
DIM not installing anythingThat OP's assumption might be correct. These workarounds are really worth trying: install a DS copy via Central or offline install the DS IM package in DIM.
I think the SSL certificate / activation should come from a VC++ library. Both of DIM and DS packages include VC++ redistribution pack but issues may be still incurred case by case...Updating CMSJenner2005_214fc98680 said:

I tryed to start DAZStudio in Dimm but it takes forever. I am using Windows 11. Nothing happens if i use the Database Icon. All Files are grayed out at the Database Icon.
Jenner2005 - I've had nothing but issues with attempting to do a fresh install on my machines. The issue is the same for both the PC and Mac OS using W11 Pro and Monterey. I did not bother with using Daz Central, but attempted at least 8 times on each platform to go direct from DIM. DIM installs fine, but Daz Studio refuses to install after the download....and let's not get started on anything related to PostgreSQL/CMS nightmare. I thought at first it may be an Apple thing, but was proven wrong when I switched to W11.
I hope you're able to get this figured out to share some insight with some of the rest of us who have rolled out efforts to complete fresh installs.
HeadShop 2023 Photo-to-3D supports Genesis 9, in Store 4/24 (Commercial)HeadShop has been supporting photo-to-3D conversions for DAZ figures since 2007. We have continuously updated our product to keep up with the development of new DAZ features and figures. This is one of the times when DAZ made major changes in Genesis 9. adding great new capabilities for the new figure. HeadShopPRO stepped up to the challenge to support Genesis 9. The result is HeadShopPRO 2023.
HeadShopPRO 2023 is the latest version of the HeadShop family, replacing HeadShopPRO, with some important additions.
- HeadShopPRO 2023 fully supports the new Genesis 9 figure(s). Genesis 9 is a huge milestone for DAZ, as it dramatically increases the flexibility and realism of the figure. Unfortunately this also means that it is NOT compatible with earlier models (15% smaller, separate “Eyes” and “Mouth”, different head-shape that includes neck, etc.
- HeadShopPRO now also includes some new 3D mesh libraries that enables users to create 3D printable busts, either monochrome or full-color sandstone statues.
In addition
- We further improved our “AutoSculpt” libraries. Most 3D heads lack realism if they ignore the unique “topography” of each head, such as different shapes of noses, chins, creases and so on. We developed over 120 shapes with sliders to help users individually change the shapes one-by-one or mix-and-match, which is a different way than competing approaches by others, because it works like a police “sketch artist”, basing portrait on the description of individual elements (-how was the lip – narrow, fleshy, straight, zig-zag) and similar.
- We also feature retouch tools in the “Color” tab in case there are imperfections in the texture or leftovers from hair or other artifacts.
- HeadShop is NOT installing with DAZ Central or Install Manager but comes with its own installation. Please follow the easy steps in the README before installing all 4 folders.

DIM not installing anythingDaz Central and DIM share settings, where applicable, so I am not at all sure why that would happen - assuming it wasn't missing the UAC prompt of similar.
DIM not installing anythingYou're right, I mistyped. I used DAZ Central to install Studio, then DIM started working.
DIM not installing anythingIt's not the downloads, once I got Studio installed through
ConnectCentral everything else downloaded fine. All I can recommend for those still unable to install Studio itself is to use the alternate method of DAZ Central to put Studio in, then use DIM to install your content. Is there a way to uninstall Genesis versions using Daz Studio instead of Daz Central? No, Daz Studio can uninstall only content it itself installed. Why not install Daz Central or Daz Install Manager, tel them where the manifests are if you don't have the paths set anymore, and let them uninstall?
Is there a way to uninstall Genesis versions using Daz Studio instead of Daz Central?I installed Daz Studio with the offline installer, but the library I have was previously downloaded with Daz Central. I only need Genesis 8, 8.1 and 9, the others (1-3) I want to remove them to save space because I don't use them. As I don't have Daz Central anymore, can I use Daz Studio for the uninstallation?
