Clothing converters V4 to G2F and G2F to G8F - SOLVED
I have tons of clothing converters. but the only one I have for V4 is V4 to G8F. Maybe I don't need to make that leap for everything.. I don't find anything out there to convert V4 to G2F clothing when I search here. Is there something out there? And then something to convert G2F to G8F clothing.
Thx
There's no batch converter but you can autofit V4 clothes to G2F if you have this: https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female
yep and the results in my experience are much better than with the converters
Clothing for Genesis GuysI didn't think it would happen but guy's clothing options are hitting a new all-time low. Paying the same price for men's clothing as women's clothing but next to ZERO functionality is utter INSANITY. I understand that men's clothing just doesn't sell, but I feel the problem is exacerbated by offering dead, painted-on clothes. Who would pay the kind of money vendors are asking for these items? It's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy...like: "You see, we told you, men's clothes don't sell!" I can find cheaper women's clothes like a standard shirt and jeans that open, blow in the wind, and even make you a sandwhich - ok, maybe not the last one. And these women's clothing look great on guys (maybe tweaking a few textures here and there)...I almost wish unisex was a thing at Daz3D.
Definitely true with the DAZ Originals, especially since a lot of the male outfits don't even come with a shirt. With women the skimp is usually not including shoes, even though poor Victoria's feet are constantly set in high-heel mode in the promos for those same products, even when she's barefoot. There are a few PAs who make great male clothing, but I suspect that part of the problem is that modern male clothing just doesn't come in as wide a variety women's clothing does, whereas, as Lady Gaga keeps proving, you can put almost anything on a female character and call it an outfit.
This is truth, but honestly, how many casual outfits and exo/space suits does a guy need? I was almost, but only 'almost', excited that the new H&C dress shirt had an open button option. But, I hear ya, it's true in society that men's clothing is very limited to its range, but where has the imagination gone? There are amazing designer lines coming out for guys every year...the ideas are there. I know SickleYield gets asked this question a billion times over (concerning men's clothing) and she more or less said that most vendors do this for a living and to invest a lot of time in men's garments that don't sell isn't putting food on the table - long and short of it, I suppose. Which leads me to wonder if Daz strictly instructs vendors to make men's clothing whenever a new character comes out or to compliment a theme as fillers, because these garmests look like the barest of barest minimum has been done in their creation. I agree that there are indeed some great men's clothing out there, especially since RiverSoftArt has released the converters. My god, some of those Genesis 2 male clothes had it going on! I am astounded by their functionality and variation.
BUT, that all said...I can't justify spending the same amount of money for a men's outfit as a woman's, that does nothing more than expand or loosen armpits.

Victoria 8 Pro Bundle Poses not working.Hello,
I purchased Victoria 8 Pro Bundle and when I tried the preset poses for Sci-fi Samurai for Genesis 8 and Lingere for Genesis 8 that came with the bundle it doesn't work. For example, the model in a T pose and I tried to load the preset for an action pose that cames with the bundle. The model remains in the T-pose. I tried the preset poses that came with Z Strike A Pose for Genesis 8 and Victoria 8 and they worked fine. I am going to pose out the model myself, but would love to use the preset poses that came with the pro bundle. Wanted to know if there is a fix or if anyone ran into this issue. Using Daz Studio 4.10 Pro.
In the attach files two of the Lingere Pose Presets are not loading, but the Z Strike A Pose is loading and poses out the model. Please Could You Consider More Search Options? There has never been a naming convention here, despite it seeming like a basic requirement for this type of product.
When I look back at my old content it is an nightmare. "Sexy Stilettos"... for whom? "Madelaine Hair", "Fantasia", "The Nightmare!". So many things with no mention of the name of their "owner". I have to look at my Daz purchases page to find out..
Even new items don't seem to have rules as to how they are labelled.
Yesterday I was playing with a pretty new item, that will remain nameless. It is an outfit that is "For Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 Female". In my Smart Content I see the item... two icons, identical, same name. I clicked on the one on the right, which is usually the Genesis 8 one if there are two options like this... but of course it turned out I wanted the other one, heh.
Why, oh why, is it not a required standard to just put the Genesis generation on the thumbnail for these items? Or, ideally, for all items! Gosh, wouldn't that be nice? A wee 8 in the corner so you can instantly see it. Or colour coded perhaps.
This would also be so useful when trying to fit retro clothes on. I have the Victoria/Michael 4 clones for Genesis 8 so they can wear 5 generations of clothing.
But finding it is a nightmare. Lots of clothes... but how to spot which is which? I click on something... it asks which generation it is for, for fitting... erm... back to the Daz store to find out.
OK, grumble over. Is it possible to easily rename files? Or is there a solution I don't know about to all this?
FWSA Myah for Victoria 7 and Genesis 3 - What Hair is being used? What hair is this?
Creating adult content with daz how to get started?I have adult content all the time. Stuff with kids, people in diners... I'm thinking of doing a series where someone is trying to figure out their taxes.
Oh, you mean porn? Oh.
I just would like to make a sex story of mine, how can I find the organs like " penis and vagina", I installed the DAZ 3D , but I can't find the adult stuff on it, should I buy some products? what are they? please advice!
thank yoy
Actually, he didn't - which was rather the point.
However, the anatomical elements are included only in (some of) the pro Bundles for adult characters - e.g. Victoria 8 Pro and Michael 8 Pro. However you need to bear in mnd that the daz products are only the base mesh, daz does not sell shaping options and certainly not "action" shapes/poses.

M4 & V4.2 Morphs PwrLdr says yes but DS says no?That looks right, and when I have the same optionss et everything loads correctly. Have you tried the INJ All poses in the Content Library under Poser Formats>Install folder>Pose>Daz's Victoria 4>Morph Injections?
CARRARA CHALLENGE 46: Get your Retro on - Voting ThreadEntry #: 19
Title: Dystopian Dragon Destruction
Artist: Dartanbeck
Links to WIP thread: Comment_4577551Rosie 4 - Victoria 4 with Morphs ++, Girl 4, Expressions for V4, Aery Soul's Ozone (shirt), Valana (sash), Angelina Hair (four instances progressively longer and fuller, with my own custom morphs made in Carrara), ArtemisX for Genesis (guns), Kazai (skirt, undies, and pouches/belt), Swashbuckler Boots
Dartanbeck 5 - Michael 5, Mon Chevalier Hair, Highlander (clothing and armor), 3-d-c's (Rendo) Combat (rifle)
Dragon - Daz Dragon 3, Custom Shaders using various Carrara shader controls with the original Dragon 3 maps
Scenery - EnvironKits - Badlands, Tower City, Dystopian Desert Destruction Kit
Rendered in Carrara 8.5 Pro - Postwork in Howler 11 (Color grading, signature, depth of field, Rosie's smoking barrel)
Discussion: Adding the dragon to the scene launched the idea of having the atmosphere really smoky. I started by using Carrara's Fog, which kinda got lost in the bright(ish) sky, so I made more fog that was quite dark - which is still fairly subtle, which I liked. But then it seemed to be begging for some fire so, again I went for Carrara's Fog and set the color to a very saturated yellow, then copied that to create one that's saturated orange. Made for a pretty nice looking fire, I thought.TheAntFarm's Dystopian Desert Destruction Kit is a dream to work with. He really knows how to make efficient content, and this is truly one of them. Each storey is a separate prop, but we can load in presets to get closer to what we need fast. But being props, we can select any parts of the kit and duplicate it in Carrara, which I love. Much older is the Tower City, but that is still an awesome collection of nice, tall towers, construction, walls, etc., and is also all props and very efficient on the system.
Legacy UVs for Genesis 8 / Victoria 4I wish they would make a Genesis 8 / Victoria 3. I have tons of old V3 clothes
Legacy UVs are for skin textures, not clothes.
You can autofit V3 clothes to G3F with this: https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofit-clones-expansion-for-genesis-3-male-s-and-genesis-3-female-s
And then you can use either autofit, the G3F to G8F converter or SickleYield's tutorial to convert the G3F version to G8F.

Semi new to rendering-now need help with cpu and gpuWell as Kitsumo mentioned, rendering with an HDRI is probably the fastest way, but I use 3Delight so not an IRay expert. Maybe install DS 4.11 beta, it has a denoiser and I've seen many comments about it being a timesaver. There's also the possibility to use the new aweSurface for 3Delight that can produce results similar to IRay, but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners as you have to convert every material from IRay or 3Delight shaders to awe. Here's the commercial package anyway if you want to look into it: https://www.daz3d.com/aweshading-kit-10-for-daz-studio
Is there any must need 3Delight items I should look into?
That's a tough one to answer:) Depends on what you want to do. I already posted the link to IBL-master, if you want to use HDRI lighting with 3DL, that's definitely the easiest way of doing it, load your HDRI, adjust light direction and strength, render. Another one I couldn't do without is https://www.daz3d.com/advanced-daz-studio-light-bundle. With these lights you can flag for example the hairsurfaces to use a lower number of shadowsamples, resulting in faster renders. There are also a lot of special shaders (toon shaders, ghostshaders, fogcameras, to name a few)for 3Delight. And there is the built in motion blur that IRay doesn't have (not in the current DS implementation). But IMO, if you want to do renders with the same level of realism as IRay, aweSurface is your only option. With awe and the included scripts that allow for scripted pathtracing, rendering is much faster than IRay on CPU. But as I also mentioned, there are no awe presets for the products in the store (as of yet), you need to convert stuff either manually or with the included scripts. The awe base shader looks pretty much like the IRayUbershader. So if you already have looked into tweaking things with IRayUber, it shouldn't be impossible to get into terms with aweSurface.
If you have more questions about 3DL, just shoot:)
Here's a lowlight awe render I made a while back:
are there any easy tutorials to learn 3delight like iray out there? I tried looking last night but it made me so dizzy.
I will look again on youtube though. 3delight had a certain charm to it even if it did not look the absolute best
can I apply victoria 4 model stuff to genisis 2? what items is victoria 6 compatible with?
what models in general can I use in 3Delight?
I'm afraid the information on 3DL is scattered all over the forums:( There is this one:https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/55128/3delight-laboratory-thread-tips-questions-experiments/p1 92 pages of indepth info:D
My advice is: Ask questions, you can post them in the laboratory thread or start a new one, do a google search for 3DL related DAZ forums threads, experiment! Visit the art forums and check https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/130611/show-us-your-3delight-renders/p1 to see both more realistic attempts and more stylized stuff, you can ask questions over there too. Start your own art thread and get comments about your renders, you're free to have fun and do whatever you want;)
About your last questions...there are products that allow you to use Gen4 stuff on any other generation, maybe someone else can help you out with that;) And basically every piece of mesh can be used in any render engine, you just need to apply a shader that works for that particular engine, if you mean Genesis figures, Genesis 1 and 2 only come with 3DL mats (with a few exceptions), G3 and G8 have both, generally speaking. And, as I think has been mentioned, there are Iray to 3DL- and 3DL to IRay-converters in the store.

Model in the Zed3D bodybuilder pose set? Anyone know?Anybody happen to know what model is used in the https://www.daz3d.com/z-sexy-bodybuilder-shape-preset-and-poses-for-genesis-8-female promo images? I am getting the product and would like to replicate her as closely as possible. Is it just Victoria 8, perhaps?
Thank you!
Semi new to rendering-now need help with cpu and gpu
I have been reading everything yes. Just had a hard week xD i will go back through this thread later todayNice render @Sven Dullah :)
You're doing great memoriiv! The size doesn't matter that much. My GPU would have taken something like 15 minutes for a similar render, so 1/10 of the time you've listed, that's okay considering you're using a CPU :)
I was trying to find a render software that I can use daz models that will render with my GPU
so victoria 4 would use 3delight?
would victoria 6 or 7 use iray?
also how do I light lanterns that do not have their own light
is it better to have rendering quality on? also should I turn rendering quality up?
If you're serious about rendering, some people suggest Octane, that, as far as I know, allows you to use AMD GPUs, and it should also be damn fast: https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/subscriptions/
Maybe, although, it would be cheaper in the long rung to sell your current GPU and to integrate the gap and buy an Nvidia one. A GTX 1660 looks good, and it should be available for around 200$.Yes, it would. Are you sure about this 3Delight thing? It feels like learning to code in Flash nowadays.
Victoria 6 = Generation 6 = Genesis 2. I was not here when Iray came out, but I think it was pre-Iray.
Victoria 7 is Genesis 3, so it should work with both Iray and 3Delight.
In any case, there are people who convert stuff between the two engines. There is a ton of ways to do that. The simplest is probably to create a point light. The most professional is maybe with this kit: https://www.daz3d.com/iray-ghost-light-kit-2
The render quality on just tells you when your render stops. If I'm at my PC, I set everything to the max and then I stop the render when I'm satisfied with it. If I'm batch rendering, I set 1000 iterations of something like that and I let the PC do its stuff ^^
could I use daz models in octane? or do they have their own?Would it use my AMD GPU?
I just got this pc and cannot change anything just yet.
At this point I do not think I can handle learning another program even if it is faster.Daz is my home.I can leave the rest for another decade. I left the render quality at 1 and set max iterations to 1000,outdoor well lit scene, for testing. If this goes well then it may be the best option for me. Would I need more iterations for indoor dim lit scenes? Are there good freebies out there?
Have you opened that link? There's a plugin for Daz, it gets integrated. You may have to set some surfaces, but it works inside Daz.
As I've already explained to you, the quality doesn't mean anything, it just decides when the render should stop on its own.
Indoor scenes are much harder in general, yes they need more iteration to achieve the same "noise level". Basically light rays bounce on every surface, and they need to be calculated multiple times, while in outdoor scenes they quickly go to infinite. You can mitigate this issue creating a good scene lighting, in order to not leave many places in the absolute dark. And you can reduce the max bouncing of the lights, but I wouldn't go under 12 if you don't want "black eyes" problems.
Hey...are you reading what I write to you? On my first post here I had linked the encyclopedia of all Daz freebies :O
Dim lit indoor scenes take a looooong time to get rid of the noises, I usually render it well lit, then make it dim in photoshop after with curves/levels.
If you don't close the render window, if 1000 samples isn't enough, you can turn up the sample settings, then continue where it left off. It's a tip I wish I knew when I first started out, and kept starting the render over lol.So I leave the render window open, turn up the iteration samples and then what do I do after that? Wow i just did it. That is amazing! Thank you so so much!I had said this to you on May the 9th :/
