Well the hands and feet product are for all the Genesis clans :-)

I bought the mermaid bundle because the price was just too good :-) I also bought the cave for them to swim in. Now for the few dollars the cave cost I am not complaining however, a light set for it would have been nice so one could see the mermaids in there lol ... and also some removable cave walls to let some light in. So I made some removable sections for the cave using Hexagon and saved that as a scene subset. And the mermaids are going to get some lanterns or something ;-)

The gazelles were an instant purchase! Very happy with those.

The time traveler morph set plays nicely with other character morphs.

Got the HD Shark for under 2 USD, so the mermaids have to behave themselves ;-)

I don't mind that there's nothing super terrific atm as I'm waiting for a new CC to arrive and the store credit has run out :-(

I saw the hands & feet were multi-figure but right now All Good Things must be wishlisted, since it's T Minus 3 Days until payday. (Maybe I will get lucky & they will forget to change the Golden Tickets on time.) Meanwhile, I will check out this cave of which you speak. In the last few months, I've picked up Sickleyield's G8 Merfolk & also Anemone, an adorable G2 water fae or elemental (DO) and they all need homes.

This is the cave: https://www.daz3d.com/xi-underwater-cave However the price has gone up from where it was when I bought it.

  • Make Human and Daz Studio

Thank you very much for your answers! In fact, I discovered MakeHuman long before Daz, that's why my characters are in MakeHuman. I am a beginner in Daz but for now, I don't understand how I can entirely recreate my MakeHuman character in Daz. I mean, for the face, MakeHuman offers several different shapes (rond, oval, rectangle, triangle, etc...). I didn't see anything like that in Daz. So, I thought I had first to find a figure having the shape I wanted for the face, that seems not very easy... Is there a way to control the shape of the face like it is controlled in MakeHuman?

This is the perfect time to let go of make human and try daz3d characters.  There is a sale right now,  many products are over 80% off.

Download the genesis 8 essentials pack which is free with dazstudio.

Then buy the head morph and body morph packages.

The head morph has all those head and faces shapes you listed.  The body morphs pack has all the body types.  You may have to buy a skin texture later,  and maybe some hair and clothes later.

Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs | Daz 3D

Genesis 8 Male Body Morphs | Daz 3D

Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs | Daz 3D

Hi, I have a question about the  Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs | Daz 3D; I would lile a triagle shape head, but I don't see any morph for this shape in the list of the morphs. I see "Face Heart, Face Round and Face Square", so I wonder how to create a "face tringle" by combining these morphs.

Could you give me an advice, please?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Is AniMate2 an orphan product or what?

With keyframes on the timeline, you have to open up the tree far enough until you see the dot is more of a circle with a T L or C written inside (those are the interpolation abbreviations). Those you can move around and delete and see them gone. The reason a keyframe would still be there regularly if you highlight and delete it is because that one has another movement or morph associated with it. Like, for example, you delete all the keyframes on the head, but you have an expression dialed in. That will still show in the head line as a keyframe even though it's actually in the properties section above. Once you delete that keyframe, then everything will be gone in the head line for that particular keyframe. I have spent way more time than I'd like to admit hunting down what a rogue keyframe is in the tree. And a lot of times you'll never even see what the keyframe could be unless you change types at the bottom of the timeline to include everything. Once you click all the checkboxes, they stay that way so it's something you only have to do once, not every time you restart Daz, thank goodness. I hope this all makes sense, I animate with Daz every single day and these are some of the many frustrations.

And, yeah, copy and pasting is incredibly frustrating as well. The trick there is if the body moves wonky after you copy and paste a keyframe in-between the two keys, as long as Daz doesn't freeze and you're able to move around the timeline, highlight the first and last keyframe from where you copy and pasted, and change the interpolation to linear and then change it back to TCB and the wonkiness nine out of ten times is gone. If Daz freezes though after you paste the keyframe, it probably won't unfreeze. I've left my computer sitting there for like five hours once and it just kept having the blue circle thing thinking.

I don't know much about animate 2 except how to put an animate2 walk cycle in and then bake the keys to the timeline so I can make adjustments there as aniamte 2 just has never clicked with me.

    Happy animating!

  • Shaping and Parameters Broken? Help.

    barbult said:

Forum uploads work again. Post a screenshot of what you see.

A screenshot isn't going to help... Look at the Parameters tab. There are options when you select a figure. The options are things like, Actor, Head, Full Body, etc.

These categories used to work for me. For example, when I'd select "Full Body" I would see all the body morphs available to that character. Now I see nothing. The paramter of Full Body is just useless. If I chose the Parameter "Head" I would see all the head morphs available to the character. Now I see nothing.

The only option in the Parameters that shows me anything is the "All" option. This means that I have to look through every, single, morph that I have for a character to find any morph I want for that character. That's thousands of options. It shows all the clothing morphs, for example, along with everything else.

That makes the workflow practically impossible.

  • How to apply one cloth morph to other clothes?

OMG wouldn't it be awesome if we could also do this with Dforce for animation

(and I know Dforce2Morph could do one morph)

imagine simulating the base dress template for example and reusing that simulation if it works on any autofitted skirt/dress/tunic without explosions

If the styles of 'other clothing' (geometry) are similar to Everyday 2 (t-shirt & pants), you may also use Transfer Utility to transfer Morph Targets from E2 to the target clothing.

I have also tried Transfer Utility, but I don't understand how to use it, do you have detailed steps?

The simplest setting is as below. You may also add the needed morphs of E2 to Favorites, and choose the option - Favorites from the dropdown list 'From Source'.

  • [SOLVED] Strange deformation around the pelvic region on some characters when Glacia is installed

    Hello,

Just an update, but the problem seems to have been solved by an update of Glacea's package, a couple of days ago: using the same pose, with Mira 9 Full body morph applied, while the previously problematic morphes are allowed to load, doesn't create the distortion observed before the update smiley

You could try fitting the clothes to the Everyday 2 clothes, isntead of a human, then set the morph on Everyday 2 and export the morphed clothes as OBJ, then use Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro with the clothes you want to morph selected and the same preset as in the export dialogue to get a permanent version of the morph.

Sounds good. I'll try it later.

  • Rib Morph for G9 Female?

{Ribs, the overlooked body part} Sid, IMO, that rib morphing looks great, and yeah, it's doing something probably unwanted to the solar plexus. I'm seeing 4 ribs there, rather than the 3 ribs sometimes found in PAs characters, and so, I think it's rather exceptional. I'm not quite clear how you accomplished that. Thanks for the references to SuperMassive etc.. Anyway, here are some things I've used on G8 and back to G3 that I'd like to share with rib lovers. Minami HD (and hair, by Rarestone, now listed as Daz Originals) : the non HD body has nice 3 rib visability. So, I tried more than once to isolate that part of the ribcage in Shape Splitter (X-Morphs) and it's been useable, but it's not just a ribs morph - maybe someone more accomplished with Shape Splitter could do it. But, I finally realised that the Minami HD morph had a lot of the same rib morph in it, also realising I could turn off it's limits, add it to any G8 character, use it way past it's normal limits, + or - , and see the morph well when the figure was only set to a subdivision of 1.  The drawback being, it's got other torso morphs in it besides the ribs. So, as good as the HD morph is, you might have to use it somewhat sparingly - but it works pretty well. I always try setting it in reverse cause sometimes it lines up better with the chest and the other HD elements are receding. Unfortunately HD morphs cannot be split in Shape Splitter or, of course, transfered to other generations (AFAIK). So, with deep discounts currently hard to pass up, hoping to stumble upon something useful, I bought, London Character and hair for G8F. Before installing, when looking at the skin tex, I happened to first look at the normal map and there were some ribs! There's some collarbone enhancment ect. but not much more, and I'm thinking I could even edit it. So now, out of the box, I'm using that NM on G3! Haven't done it yet but am thinking this NM could be made larger and fitted to G9. By the way, the London body has noticeable ribs even without using the NM and is easily aged without losing the ribs. But it seems odd to me, that rib morphs have been left out of the paid Daz body morphs and even the ones by the PAs. Hoping some day to not only have the front sides but to include the ribs beneath the collarbone going somewhat separately down the middle of the chest and also adjusting for width. And some separately controlled ribs to complete the ribcage in the back - ribs are beautiful. Thanks for starting this thead and to everyone contributing. / peace

I'd really like to be able to tell if the Golden Ticket is something possibly useful for me without having to go to the store page. Today's thumbnail is obviously a product for hands & feet but you can't tell it's not just for G9 without going to the page, for example. Without the info, the Predatron Gazelle thumbnail could be a promo image for Herbivore Fur Shaders, a Horse 3 morph, or the standalone figure it is (with multiple species, so easy wishlist).

What?  You want a DAZ sales blurb to actually be useful, informative and not a little verbally confused or misleading?  Yeah, you and pretty much everyone else, but they're only getting less helpful and more intent on driving up the click-count...

Nope. I am just hoping for vaguely, minimally informative - like  generation, pose/shader/clothing/other - without clicking.

I know I am wishing in vain.

They're called characters. They are created by modifying the base mesh figure. This means the mesh is modified by moving it around to reshape it so that new mesh is created in so doing. The resultant reshaped mesh is a morph. These morphs can be as simple as changing a nose or lip shape or have changes over the whole head and/or body.

The Genesis 9 figure is a base mesh figure. Victoria 9 and Michael 9 are morphs that change base mesh to look like a different figure or character. The reason for only reshaping the base mesh and not adding mesh (as when the mesh is subdivided or extruded) is so it will work with clothing, hair and other types of meshes that work with Genesis 9 (in this example).

These morphs are created mostly in external programs (Blender, ZBrush and others) but can be made within Daz Studio as well. There are tutorials in the Daz Store and some are on the Daz Forums, YouTube and other places. I'm sure others will chime in with links. Will list some later if they haven't.

Ah, ok! I thought the morphs were the cursors used in Daz to modify a character, have I misunderstood?

Thank you in advance for your answder!
