I can already see the 0-star excuses:

"Bad, the textures are bland and the windows are black" (on a pre-iRay product)

"Do not buy, this outfit clips everywhere, shoes don't fit at all!" (on every Victoria 4 outfit)

"This outfit didn't show up in my Smart Content" (on add-on textures for some actual outfit)

"These buildings kept giving some error about Veu path not found on installation! Will not buy again from this artist!"

"This figure doesn't have any genitals, I want my mothers' money back!" (on every figure that's not purchased in a pro-pack or is clearly of minor age)

I'm sure many people can figure out way more "ratings" from "experienced users".

And even then, some set may turn out perfect for one user, and totally unfit for another. I personally love the I13 bundles, simply because they're very versatile in their use. I rarely use those scenes "as they are", but do use the props, outfits and poses everywhere. They can be great as they are, especially considering their general pricepoint, but some people might still find them too limited or too much of a hassle to use (since many aren't iRay). Does that make them bad products? No, they're probably just not what the purchaser wanted or expected out of them, which is something different.

I bought the https://www.daz3d.com/victorian-innocence-base-outfit package. On the Victoria birthday sale i missed to by the Virtoria 4 bundle. I find the Victoria 4.2 Base and bought it. But the innocent outfit doesn't appear and dont loadet on the lost and found to the Victoria 4.2 Model. Where can I get the Viktoria V4 Base?

This past month i've been messing around with the Diffeomorphic and this is the way the model looks.

There are some materials that the plugin can't do fine and you have to tweak them yourself. All the common materials in the G1-G8 basic characters and outfits packages seem to match fine. While some characters using advanced materials may not be fine. This happens for Victoria 8 for example, using diffuse overlay, dual lobe specualr and choromatic sss that are all not documented features in the daz uber shader documentation.

In the latest updates of the development version plugin Thomas was able to add support for diffuse overlay and dual lobe specular but the chromatic sss stills not supported.

I think it's ended. It's July now, and the bonuses were for Victoria's b'day in June.

I'm not hostile to Genesis, would welcome the support, but it should not break anything. Poser 11 broke a lot of things that worked in Poser 10 (especially in the shader and python department) and caused al lot of people, like Dreamlandmodels, to leave. Restoring compatability with older Poser versions - if possible already in a next Poser 11 fix - would be a good idea.

Both applications have been drifting apart for years and years, especially when they decided on different weightmapping technology and different render engines/shaders, and later different cloth and hair simulation technology. I'm a bit sceptical how close they can get together again. The only render engine I know of they still share is an external one; Reality/Lux.

They could go far a plugin system; an optional iRay exporter with DAZ shader support for those who'd like it. (No idea how the copyrights should be handled) Programs like Maya also rely on external render engines. Both DAZ and Poser could work on developing an external render plugin that supports both programs. But that's supposing they would even want to.

How well a program can handle two different weightmapping techonolgies at the same time; I have no idea. Dropping compatability with Dusk & Dawn, ProjectE, Bella, La Femme and the native Poser Characters would not sit well, either.

I would welcome better native Poser characters. Ever since Poser 5 the characters have been too mundane, and lacking in anatomical correctness and rigging. Good characters should be morphable from nerds to fashion models to super heroes to alien monsters. DAZ delivered, Poser did not.

I have no idea where Poser should go. (Personally, I hope not the way of ever RAM heavier content wiht the need for ever more powerul GPUs. Can't afford that.The need for ever more expensive graphics card made me drop DAZ Studio and iRay all together. I would need a render engine that is fast enough on CPU only.)

Poser needs better animation tools, particles, a better and faster render engine, better characters with better support. Better and more diverse content for Poser; the old stuff is good but some of it is getting old. Content creators that support all Poser render engines (SuperFly support is rare, even years after its launch)

DAZ has content that fully supports Studio's technology at the push of a button. Poser - well, not really. Especially where SuperFly's concerned.

Let's just wait and see where it goes.

 

You can have more than one type of weightmapping in a program. DAZ has had two since the beginning of DS4; "General" was the Dual Quaternion weightmapping so the program was set up to switch from the Triax by using the dropdown box when you're weighting the figure/object. The thing that allowed that happening is the fact that DS4 was a total rewrite of the code base; Poser is still sitting on the code from its inception. To move the program forward, it may be necessary to rewrite the code so that you can compartmentalize sections of code so you can add different weightmapping, use industry standards and make it easier to make changes. Getting the code to a point where it can handle changes and make user workflows easier may be the thing to do first before talking about importing 3rd party figures. Dumping fairly recent content that works would not be a good idea, however there may be some 20 year old content and tech that may need to be jettisoned so that new features can be supported. So while the Dawns, Roxies and Lafemmes, Victoria 4s should still be supported, they may not want to keep 20 year old features that no one hardly uses around. 

But that requires a major investment of money, hopefully they have that or it may be that Poser may just be around for maintenance fixes to keep the current version going. But again, they have to see if there are able (via manpower and finances) to dig in and properly modify the code better than the former Portugal team.

No idea why GenX gave you an error message as it should support V4 as a source figure (it can’t convert morphs to V4 though).

GenX doesn’t support G8 though (the creator passed away before G8 release) so you would need to do it in multiple steps.

You might be able to adapt it for V4 since you created a clone for her. You may need to convert her to weight mapped figure first.

I made progress. I can now use the morph with Gen1, but it seems my issue now is, that I can't transfer the victoria 4 clone morph ALONGSIDE the GND morph from Gen1 to 8.

I followed your linked tutorial, but it looks as if that also doesn't deal with clones and that clones are handled differently than normal morphs, so I can transfer the GND morph (that I transfered from Victoria 4 first), but of course it looks fucked up, cause Gen8 does not have the Victoria 4 form.

I used the clone of V4 I made earlier and it still looks like in the attached picture. No idea what else I'm missing. It's been like 5 hours now.

I am desperate and just wasted about 2 hours of time for nothing.

I want to transfer the old Girl Next Door (by blackhearted) to my Genesis 8.

I saw in a post that it is possible and also messaged the user.

So I installed Victoria 4, GND and Genesis to have all the bits and pieces I possibly need.

Then I tried GenX and seemingly wasted my money, since I couldn't even load Victoria 4 into it, since it says "Poser figure not supported", so after googling around and not finding anything, I went for the Freebie clone creation tutorial around here and followed that.

Now I have a Gen8 with V4 clone, but that's where the tutorial stops. I have no clue how to now get the GND morphs onto that, so I guess those steps were pretty useless to follow, since it's for clothing and stuff, but not for a morph injection?

So yeah, any help in getting to my goal would be appreciated. You can have the satisfaction of having saved several hours of a life, cause my anger probably shortens it.

Addition: I don't care if it's GND4.2, Anastasia or La Femme. I just like Blackhearteds style, but don't want to switch to Poser and also want to keep the other pro's of Daz Studio.

Any progress on Daisy? I just watched 'The Force Awakens' again, and I'd love to see a top-notch likeness of her, which you seem to be making.

Don't worry, she's still underway! The release of Daz Studio 4.11 introduced some issues with displacement in my previous products so I've had to go back and do some updates. The displacement for Daisy has also now been updated to work correctly with 4.11 so I'm back on track.
While I'm here, does anyone have suggestions for hair that could work well for Daisy Ridley? I'm not very familiar with female content

Great to hear that Daisy is still on her way, I've really liked what you've done with your other characters so far so looking forward to see what you do with her.  

As for hair, well that's the question isn't it?  She does have one signature look but that's not so straight forward.  There is a 'Rey' hairstyle from The Force Awakens available over on rendo but it is for Victoria 4 and poser (though it does say that you can fit it to Victoria 8 by parenting it to the head and using a morph) so if you can use it you will need to use separate Iray shaders.  The venders store seems to be on sale at the minute so this might actually be good timing!

Okay, maybe I've just had bad luck with the type of fibermesh brows I've been getting with the characters I've bought. I tried Victoria 8's fibermesh brows, and they seem to look fine in the lighting and camera angles I've tested.

If have a question then...if I brought the Genesis 3 Female Genitalia with Victoria 7 Pro Bundle, would it work with ANY Genesis 3 Female?

Could I get something like the Kalea 7 or the Monique 7 starter without needing to get the Kalea 7 or Monique 7 pro bundle? I wouldn't have to worry about the basic skins for gens or anything else would I?
