  • HD Essentials Marks and Scars for Genesis 9 - Materials?

These are morphs only, designed for use with SubD levels 3 and 4. No materials or textures are included. All morph sets (glutes, breasts, skin, feet, etc.) may affect GeoGrafts. If you're using GeoGrafts on your character, you'll need to manually set those morphs to 0 to prevent distortion.

    Thank you very much.

  • looking to combine three D-Formers into a single one in order to create a Morph

i'd like to have three D-Formers for the left, center, and right of a mouth combine into a single morph so that i can make another set of D-Formers for the rest of the body. I couldnt see any obvious way to do this in DAZ. The https://renderguide.com/daz3d-create-custom-morph-tutorial/ tutorial shows how to create a morph from a single D-Former, and it works, but i see no obvious way to use it to merge three D-Formers into a single morph, and neither will it let me use it to take the D-Formers one at a time into separate morphs (which would be inconvenient but workable). So basically Im stuck with a model that has three D-Formers all in the head area and I can't add any more without them being tied to the head morphs. Is this possible, or is it simply a matter of how the software is built ... that every person creating a morph has to create a single D-Former, transfer that to a morph, and create another D-Former, transfer that, and so on?

I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you

  • Suggestion for a DS Tool

Which can be done with a GeoGraft or a morph.

While Daz allowed the use of RTE files up to Victoria 4 it isn't an automatically permissible thing and as far as I know it isn't allowed for Genesis #.

that is not, what it is for.

My suggestion is for altered geometry.

  • [Solved] Need help with "overlapping" morph slider, G2F

Actually, I just found a solution myself. I guess typing helps me think.

So: Right click Parameters tab > Preferences > uncheck Consolidate Properties

Now I do see separate, multiple sliders for Pupils Slit and Pupils Dialate. I can click the small gear icon on each, click Parameter Settings..., and then see the file path for each.

Looks like ActualEyes4 was the source of the extra morph sliders.

  • [Solved] Need help with "overlapping" morph slider, G2F

I only recently noticed a couple morph sliders for my Genesis 2 Females have a (2) in front of them. Specifically Pupils Slit and Pupils Dialate. And the present slider value is a question mark. If I move the slider, I get a normal value, but Pupils Dialate doesn't behave as expected.

I'm guessing I recently installed morphs that effectively added duplicate morph sliders, so I'm sliding more than one morph at once and getting weird results. Is there a way I can look at where a morph slider comes from, so to speak? I don't know when exactly this problem started, so I'm having trouble guessing what might have caused it among all the products I have in DAZ Install Manager.

  • What happened to Michael (and Victoria 4)?

If they are missing it may be because the ExP figures need to have all their morph sets installed in the same folder (installing through DS puts each product in its own folder on disc, which are then merged into a single virtual folder under Daz Connect in the Contnt Library pane format lists.

Honest questions. Why do you buy these individual characters ? Is it for the skin textures or the character itself ? Can't you achieve the same with dials and morphs ? Hair I get, but the characters not. They all look the same, just with different skin tones and textures.

I buy them mostly for the skin these days, and Daz Original skins tend to be very good quality. I'm not a texture artist, so that feels like a good reason.

I do make custom characters for the protagonists of my renders/stories. Morph dialing, mesh adjustments. But I also need a lot of background characters and I don't want to spend any time on those. Mixing together 2 or three characters and throwing a skin on is as much as I want to do.

There's a lot of hair that looks incredibly similar but for a gust of wind - particularly in wider shots. A lot of the products in the store are interchangeable.

  • Making fit and muscular characters

What generation are you using? In addition to the packages mentioned in Halcon Bluesky's post, Daz has head and body morph packs for Genesis 2 through Genesis 8/8.1 that have "fitness" and "bodybuilder" dials. Just search the Daz store for <figure name> head morphs and <figure name> body morphs (e.g. Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs).
Additionally, SickleYield has a 200 free morphs for Genesis 8 pack that has dials for individual muscles/muscle groups (thighs, back muscles, abs, biceps, delts, etc.) https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/art/SY-200-Free-Morphs-Genesis-8-756465264

  • Question about Wearable Presets - Answered, thanks.

    Thank you.

I was meaning hiding the neck/temple facets with the geometry editor. I'll be saving the nut, bolt & spacer as a normal support asset with a bolt withdrawal morph and a spacer length morph, then saving as a wearable preset on different generations of character. Might as well make it usable on G2-G9 so anyone can have a bit of fun (do many people use G1?) and also for my TriAx V3 (probably not distribute that one). The hidden facets will need to be different for each generation and I only want to save a single support asset to keep the load on people's machines to the minimum. There are 684 facets and 516 vertices, so it's not excessive.

    Regards,

    Richard

I think a true daz elemental character would be cool where she or he can be like water, fire, earth, air, etc. Daz should hit up more stuff in the fantasy genres to provide more of something there is less of. Maybe look at a few of their PAs like Rawart and Oso and make some top notch characters using them as inspiration for something different? How many slime people has actual Daz put forth as a primary character? We got the lion folk, but we have all kinds of other folk that daz could have some really cool things made with. We have had some really cool succubus and vampire ones, but there is so much more that could be explored and potentially taken to the next level, like the dryad character that was released a while back. But not only is she meh theme, she is 4 items for $100, she does not even include the expressions in her base set and she is not triggering an awesome deal. Maybe if I could trigger any gen 8 pro sets for $5, but not gen 3s. On the big sales I pass on so many gen 3 pro sets I could get for around $3.

I completely agree, we definitely need more variety, and especially more standout characters like Tara Succubus, Sylvia Dryad, Lahr, and Lycan. Those are the kinds of releases that genuinely excite me. It would also be great to see some of the classic, iconic characters reimagined for G9, like the Tree Giant, or entirely new creations inspired by the endless number of humanoid beast races like lizards, kobolds, bears...

I'm not sure why we keep seeing so many similar looking characters, like Brianna, Lauryn, Madison, and Audrey, as they often don't add much that's new or different from what's already available. Some of them even feel a bit rushed. For example, Madison seems to lack detail without the base G9 8K maps. In contrast, characters like Bishop and Asha clearly had real passion behind them, they stand out.

Speaking for myself, I keep hoping for a realistic baby, toddler and small child. Yes, I have every age-related morph there is for G9, but creating a baby from an adult figure is a big ask.

I would support that addition. With the age morphs and a slight application of face neutralizer you can get some decent young versions of characters to around age 5, but a consistent character much younger than that is pretty problematic.

  • Using Genesis 9 Skin on Genesis 8 Figures

Ahh,  I forgot about the expression part.... but it can be fixed by using corrective morphs.  I made two corrective morphs for Mouth Open and Jaw Open (ss 1 ~ 2), but I can only share the Modifier assets ...

You have to firstly save the Material Suit as a Figure Asset... them place the corrective morph files in the attached ZIP into the data folder of the Figure Asset of Material Suit, e.g. /data/Fauvist/Material Suit G8M/Base/Morphs/Fauvist/Base/

Remember to bring Mouth and Teeth back from Auto-Hide setup (still by following the above 5 steps' tutorial) ... before saving Figure Asset (by using the settings in below screenshot 3) ~~ smiley

    +1000

Emphasis on realistic. And with an understanding that if it can sit up and walk, it is NOT a newborn.

laugh Ah, so you too have contemplated the G8 baby ...

Is an issue for my story, which involves ... families. With kids.

    Same.

I eventually cracked and got Caryn when she was super cheap with the thought that maybe if I messed with sliders and just didn't do anything front-facing, it could pass in a pinch until something better came along.

I haven't actually done it yet. I keep hoping something will come out so I don't have to.

But I guess since you can't sell a baby with Rule 34 marketing, Daz figures there's no point? I mean, really, otherwise why wouldn't there be one? It's such an obvious gap!

  • How to isolate part of a full body morph and apply it

    Richard Haseltine said:

    crosswind said:

Actually you can do it with a D-Former + weight mapping..  I'd rather do it with Royal Dragon's body morph rather than Oso Mosasaur ~~ by using Attenuate option with Morph Loader Pro, i.e. only update Dragon's body.

With SD morphs, and it will still be an issue fixing the joins and (at least for dForm plus weight mappng) redoing adjustments and corrections.

The trick is to optimize weight mapping before using Attenuate with MLP.  Then, as usual when creating FBM, just do Adjust Rigging to Shape before ERC Freeze.

Then I tested with key joint rotations, so far so good. If there's any ugly bend, just fix the pjcm / mcm.
