dunno how much is scripted though, as they themselves pointed out the mocap video game characters look convincing until you try using a lipsync type function, I have seen facial  mocaps using Victoria 4 that looked convincing because it's the micro expressions with that particular narrative.

The Pixar toon characters even look believable because real actors voice them and they use mocap.

Otherwise you get a lot of very photorealistic corpses and wax museum exhibits.

Hi, I'm fairly new to Daz Studio. I have been exploring and trying to learn. Its very confusing, but I'm beginning to learn my way around.

I purchaced Victoria 4.2 Base Studio CF, shapes and muscle morphs to start with and using the installer button on the website to install them. It opened the Daz installer and I installed them. I selected the Victoria base and it opened the power loader to add the morphs, which I did. They all appeared in the parameters and shapes tabs and all work fine.  All these appear in the left panel under Products V.             

Later I bought the Genesis 8 Female body morphs, head shapes and the HD muscle morphs which I installed from the website install button as well. The muscle morphs all show up in the parameters and shaping tabs and work fine. I was excited to explore them and I didn't notice until much later the body and head morphs were missing. It wasn't until the other day when I wanted to make the legs longer I could not find slider for it and then noticed none of the body morphs and head morphs where there. I checked again to see if the power loader was appearing when selecting the Genesis 8 Female and it does not. I don't recall it opening when the muscle morphs were installed. 

I could not find any usefull info on this. I tried using the installer to see if they were installed. It confirms they are installed as well as visual check in the folder location which they are. They still are not appearing in the parameters or shaping tabs. I can only find them in the left hand panel under products G. Nothin happens when I left click them. Right click menu shows uninstall. I did try uninstalling using the install manager and reinstalling, but that didn't work. 

I have noticed that sometimes slider seem to vanish and appear again. I don't know why. I then realized I still had a search word, but that wasn't always the case. Sometimes it seemed like some sliders would just vanish. I don't know if I was doing something wrong but I know I have to have Genesis 8 female selected.

Can someone please help to get the body and head morphs to appear.

To the point, I'd like the purchase the "Aisha Hair for Victoria 3" which "vanished" when Vairesh did.  I'm planning a composition that will depict the Na'vi from James Cameron's "Avatar" and the and "CS" at ShareCG provides a texture that uses that hairpiece.

I know what somebody likely recommend, the "Wild Dreads" package.  I have that item already and will rely upon that as a "backup" if my search turns up goose eggs, but I'd rather employ something a tad more "screen accurate" if possible.

I am still very excited about what a Genesis 9 would look like. actally can't wait. Always happy about new figures to explore. If it was always been like "wait, no upgrade please, payed so much", we would be still stuck with Victoria 2. Every money I pay here is for making software and figures better.

That depends on what exactly you mean by that. Using Victoria or Michael 8’s texture is as simple as applying the material to the figure (gender-specific, unless you have the appropriate add on), and v7/M7 textures would work as well, since G3 and G8 share UVs. If, on the other hand, you want to use a Michael 4 texture on G8, it’s possible, but not out of the box. 

I still have some in the numbers, alphabetically (before A), since I do mine by organizational order. This time I began by typing "V4" into the filter, looked to make sure it was all for V4 and checked all. Then typed in Victoria 4 and did the same, and then started the queue to install to my "V4" runtime folder. After that I repeated with "M4", then Genesis and kept trying to narrow things down like that. Now it'll be down to going through and putting Environment-type items in "Environs", Vehicles in "Vehicles", Animals in... well you get the idea! LOL

I still have a long way to go, but my content is here already, so at least I can still play! :)

What do you mean by stetching? Are you working on a base Genesis 8 Female or are you using the Victoria 8 shape?

Somewhere, somehow, I picked up this impractical armor for G2F.  So, here is Victoria 6 raging against a beastie.  I should probably swap out the background for a temple.

but I honestly think Victoria and Micheal pro should include the main morph packages instead of the other bundled crap they do 

most only buy them for the anatomical elements

barely anyone buys them for the usually hideous outfits and silly poses that get tossed in

...or at least bundle them together at a reasonable price like they did for G1. It's ridiculous having to purchase 4 different morph sets at 20$ each (14$ if a PC+ member) which are a necessity for using the individual character base figures, particularly as they are DO instead of PA content.  Also all the expressions (an additional 20$ [14$ PC+] for each gender) should be included in the M/F head morphs. 

Just to use a new Genesis M/F version requires an additional 120$ (84$ PC+) outlay to make them useful (and that's before purchasing any of the individual character figures at 45$ [32$ PC+] a pop).  So a base Genesis isn't actually "free" since little can be done with it without the morphs/expressions.

This is part of why I drew the line at G3.

Hi! I exported an animation with Genesis 2 in .dae to Marvelous Designer and it worked. But with Victoria 8 is not working. Why? I'm not using the aniMate. Obs: in .fbx i have the mesage: "FbxSkin::eDualQuaternion or FbxSkin::eBlend is not supported".

As a new Daz user I get really confused every time I want to buy anything not human.

With the Genesis, Victoria and company it's easier to know where you stand.

With the creatures not so much. This thread started out as a question to other users about each animal and creature but now it is a list of the most recent animals and creatures from Daz and any good alternatives, if they exist. 

This list is a Work In Progress and is by no means comprehensive. Anyone wondering about something not here should ask about it.

Canines:

Daz Dog 8 : Release date: 2018-06-18. It has a lot of add-ons for different breeds of dogs.

It also has add-ons for some fantasy and SF dogs and even other species. Notable ones are Warg and Zombie Dog.

Wolf 2: Release date: 2015-11-07. Comes with expansion set and even german shepherd and husky add-ons.

Felines:

Daz house cat : Release date: 2019-07-25. Looks pretty good.Has different breeds and presets included in the same product, no need to buy new ones. Also has poses products by itself or in combination with other figures.

Daz big cats 2: - Release date: 2013-12-10. By itself it is pretty outdated.

It has add-on dForce Hair for Big Cat 2 Release date: 2019-06-13.

Alternatives: Big Cat-Dog for Daz Dog 8 Release date: 2018-09-01. It doesn't look that good to me but if you already have the Dog and poses, props, you might prefer this to new items.

Felidae by AM - Lion: Release Date: 2019-09-28. With dForce hair add-on . Looks really good.

Daz Horse 2: Release date: 2012-11-27. Contained in starter and pro bundles. Needs HD product to be up to par to current stage. The HD is also contained in a bundle.

Has add-ons for Cow transformation (also contained in a bundle), deer transformation and even Unicorn and Water Horse for fantasy lovers.

Im a visual artist and I am wanting to include renders in my packages for other artists needing referance pictures. 

What I need to know is, if its ok to sell a render that has a character that I have perchased such as Victoria or Tess or does it have to be a character that I morphed/created? 

Im wanting to know what is ok before I continue.

Victoria 8 is a morph on Genesis 8.

So when another says it it requires Victoria 8, it means the creator is building further on, on the Victoria 8 morph (so technically also a Genesis 8 character).

You might be able to use that character without having Victoria 8, but she will look differently, due to not having the Victoria 8 morph.
