Cartoons - how are you doing?
Using VSS, pwToon, and LineRender9000
3Delight Laboratory Thread: tips, questions, experimentsI enjoy using PWToon. Sometimes I want more of a toon style coloration, and I experiment with DZ Toon shaders. And then, inevitably, I go what the hey when I notice DZ Toon shaders... don't cast shadows.
Is there a product that mostly works like DZ Toon but, you know... casts shadows?
[Released] Oso Bocular Man HD for Genesis 8 Male [Commercial]Not my thing, but speaking of 3dl, here's a PWToon render with Bocular man!
(Mature locked for what is technically nudity; I always play it safe on ratings)

Nice one, love the story too;)

I need help to find 3d delight stuff.Try anything released before Iray was introduced to DS, everything before that will be optimised for either 3dl or Posers firefly.
But you also need to be aware of the difference, Iray and 3dl are rendering engines and therefore require different shaders; PWToon is made for 3dl and does not work in Iray, applying PWToon to things means they are now optimised for 3dl.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff. The speed I render with PWtoon is around 6 times faster than Iray and normal 3D delight. Because to make 3D delight look good you need to have tons of light sources and it really slows down rendering a lot. So, I'm using it for games.
The key to successs with PW toon is to avoid too much light sources, but i'm sure you already know that.
Still we losing the topic here, I just need 3d delight stuff and if you know how to find it with ease, please tell. If we losing topic some mod will show up deleting it with some strange excuse like they always do for me.
I will try this converter though, THANK YOU for that Molly.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff.Like @Oso3D I also tend to use RSSY Iray to 3DL when working with pwToon and Visual Style Shaders. I've found it to be pretty useful for giving me a clean starting point.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff.I use PWToon all the time and am not sure what you mean by that.
I find RSSY Iray to 3DL speeds up the process, but it's not necessary as such.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff.Iray gives out a serious amount of bugs if you try to use Iray graphics with PW toon. It's like rolling a dice, it might work but it might also give out graphics bugs, so no thanks. I tried that road before. I need 3D delight and it makes me frustrated that you can't just search for graphics with 3d delight support.
Pwtoon makes INSANE fast renders. So, for gaming it's a must.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff. If you intend to use pwToon you will be converting anyway, so you don't need to limit yourself to 3Delight - though it's probably true that not everything will work nicely with pwToon.
I need help to find 3d delight stuff.Just to be clear: do you want to combine "regular" 3DL items and "pwtooned" items in your render?
Because if you plan to apply pwtoon shaders to everything then whether or not the product has 3DL materials included doesn't really matter since you'll be replacing the materials anyway.

More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)Ghost in the Shell: The Major

I tweaked my Visual Style Shaders settings. I used VSS on the skin, gloves, and jacket. I used pwToon on her hair, gun, and other clothing. I, of course, used LineRender9000 for the linework. The background was created using Daz assests. Only the green Hexagons were added in post work. I enhanced the colors in photoshop. I also used a filter called Tonal Contrast in the free plugin Nix Collection/Color Effex Pro 4. Hope you all like it.
Unf!! Noice!
Thanks

More Non-photorealisitic Renders (NPR II)I finally figured out how to do LAMH fur properly in PWToon. Woot.
Been trying all sorts of things, including using PWGhost and whatnot.
Sakura 8So do you just render once to layers, and then composite? Using VSS and pwToon should be pretty fast on the normal render (it is on my box), and then the others. How long did the total rendering take? I liked how my pwToon render resulted, but I would have liked a better outline.
The time is takes depends on how complex the image is and maybe size (resolution). With "The Major", I rendered the background seperate without LineRender. "The Major" by herself took maybe 20 minutes total. Once the main Render is complete, you can start working with it in Photoshop as the other renders (lines) are being completed. As each line render is complete, you can bring it into your PSD. If all you want is lines, you can remove the shadow render. Be sure to use the render script, it makes everything easier.
Edit: I find that pwToon and LineRender work well together. If pwToon didn't create a great line LineRender will.

Sakura 8In the continued essence of Toon, I spent some time with pwToon, Crescents shaders, some custom adjustments via the documentation, and am happy with the results!
Probably the most time I've ever worked with pwToon. Its a good product! Love those lines to be a little less speckly, but I didn't have the patience to dig into LR9k just yet. This looks good!
This is what I accomplised using pwToon, Visual Style Shaders and Linerender9000 (highly recommended). I don't have Sakura yet but plan on getting her eventually.
