Sometimes DAZ promotions angers and confuses me

Then the ad should have been written as :
"If in the last 3 days you have purchased an item with a purchase price of $1 you earn a SILVER star."
"If in the last 3 days you have purchased 2 items with a purchase price of $1 you earn a GOLD star."
Except that what you wrote suggests that if you made a single purchase with 2 items over 1$ each you get a gold star, which is wrong.
The actual rules would be:
- If you made a qualifying purchase once in the past 3 days, you get a silver star today
- if you made a qualifying purchase on two separate days in the past 3 days you get a gold star today
Where a qualifying purchase is a purchase of anything (probably excluding buying gift cards and memberships) with a total of at least 1$ before taxes.
This screen capture was in my original post but it appears to have disappeared. I was quoting what DAZ had posted.
Hopefully this time it does not disappear.

It's previous days, if you purchased on one of the previous three days you get a Silver star, on two or three of the previous three days you get a gold star. There isn't curently an indicator, but the prices should tell you which if any you have. Going forward it will continue to be the three days before the current day that count - purchase on eone day, silver star, on two or three days, gold star. It doesn't count more than one purchase on any day as extras, and it doesn't update for purchases during the day.
What is the "one" that is required? Someting from the MM page or can it be anything(except GCs of course)in the store?
BINGO. That needs to be explained.

Any purchase, as long as the before tax price is more than $1, except gift cards. Even Outlet & Quick Grab items work.
Thanks.
I got a discount on a new PC item somehow. I guess because I bought something yesterday.

Do gift card purchases count toward earning a star? I suspect they may be excluded from earning stars but it is not specified in the fine print. Please clarify and if necessary correct the ad to state any exclusions from earning stars
As far as I know yes, they are - it is spending them that counts, allowing both would be double-diping 9and spending is likely to net more stars than buying, so if they do limit it this is the better choice for us)

I like that you don't lose stars completely if you miss just 1 or 2 days.
I have several WL things in the Madness Kickoff selection, so I will probably pick out 1 to buy. Granted I tend to use & WL more older models than many people here.
BTW, many of the older Kickoff items that don't list DS as compatible are. They list DS material presets (will need converted to Iray) & even have DS renders in the promos
Yeah, being able to skip every third day and still keep a gold star will be nice as far as being able to stretch things. (Still likely I'll go down to one or zero on occasion depending on how QG pans out, but odds are better.)

I doubt that is consistent with how it works. With respect to previous sales, I would say it almost certainly needs to be purchases on different days, whereas your phrasing would potentially allow those purchases to be on the same day (even the same order).
It is most likely "If you have made a non-gift card purchase over $1 in the last three days, you have a silver star" and "if you have made another non-gift card purchase over $1 on a different one of those last three days, you have a gold star instead".

English is a easy language, it is authors who convolte it. If you do not believe then attempt to get past the first 20 pages of a DH Lawrence or James Joyce novel.
And WHY I much prefer the plain English of American pulp fiction authors.
I also used EARN over GET. In the real word you GET NOTHING for free. You EARN it.
Cheers and thanks for the confusion... :-)
Not meant offense to anyone.

YES I did purchase several items yesterday, how do I know if they qualify?
Did they cost over $1 (before any tax was added)? If yes, then they qualify and you have a silver star today. To double check you can either put a full priced item in the cart and see if you're getting 10% off it, or put Sophia for Genesis 9 into the cart and see if you're getting her for $4.99.
I don't know how to say it clearer. There's only so many ways you can explain the same thing, so unless you can say what specifically you don't understand about this sale, I'm out of options to help you.

Purchase of what? Of any product (I'm pretty sure gift cards are excluded) above $1.
When? To have a silver star today, you would have to made one purchase above $1 in the last 3 days.
To have a gold star today, you would have to made 2 purchases above $1, one a day, in the last 3 days.If you haven't made any qualifying purchases in the last 3 days, you have no stars today.
If today, you buy a product over $1 (outlet and quick grab usually counts, but it has to be $1 before the tax) you will have a silver star tomorrow.
If today and tomorrow you buy something over $1 (as above), you will have a gold star on Monday. This works exactly like golden tickets and punch cards of the past. Today's purchase gives you bonuses in the next days.
Hope this helps.
Exactly.I still have the same confusion and no offense to Richard, his reply only added to the confusion.

This sale was not very well worded and needs to be re-written.

Code "MAD-KICKOFF" does not work. My cart (attached file).
So "Star" für the "Newly Mad Release" works, but Code says "Coupon Code is not valid".
This coupon will only work on items from this selection:
https://www.daz3d.com/mad-door-prizes
And I don't think the mammoth is part of it.
At the moment I build the cart it was in the selection. Also half of my Wishlist was in the selection (like the mammoth). Currently none of my wishlist items is in the selection...
Sometimes DAZ promotions angers and confuses meI love DAZ. I love their products. I love their forum. But sometimes I find their sales quite confusing. And the wording in this weekends "March Madness" is the most confused I've ever been.
Someone needs to be more clear when they do the write ups.
There is mention of having a SILVER or STAR attached to your account.
And if you have a SILVER star if you "Purchased 1 of the previous 3 days over $1.
A GOLD star if "Purchased 2 of the previous 3 days over $1.
Purchase what of? A previous item? Over the previous days?
I checked my account and I have NO stars and I did purchase several items yesterday?
I even put 5 items in my account, went to check out and all items were at their regular price.
You need to clarify where these stars can be found and what exactly is "of the previous".
You need to be more clear where these STARS can be found.
Sorry but I do not need this confusion in my life.
However today is an exception, usually shopping at DAZ is a very pleasant and rewarding experience.
Cheers and sorry for the rant, but I am being honest.

If you want to pay $5.99 in the MM sale, buy some new item and get a silver star then pay $5.99 for the $0.69 character, or buy two new items and get the gold star and pay only $3.99 for the $0.69 character. I'm tempted, but not quite as far as $0.69. Regards, Richard.
It would not change the price of that character today: if you're buying something over $1 today, you'll only get a star tomorrow.
And at best, you would only get a gold star monday, after buying something today and tomorrow.
It sems to account for non-MM purchases over the last three days, iif any; certainly I (and others) are getting gold star prices.

Hm. Interesting. With December I definitely had an incentive for daily purchases, what with the Advent calendar and the Nice List. This doesn't have either of those, just some discounts for stuff I may or may not be interested in. And historically the average price of what's in the store tends to swing a bit higher than usual when stuff like this us in play in order to account for it.
I'll likely ration my QG purchases to maintain a star or two if I have enough of them I already wanted, and let it lapse when I don't. (I cleared out my Outlet interests in that 50% off sale a couple weks back). Maybe supplement with some daily awesomeness if it happens. I'm not feeling particularly excited (first reaction was a kind of weariness that I'm "supposed to" find something to buy every day) but if there's stuff I'm getting anyway, might as well time it to activate the extra discounts, just in case.
I'm with you. There doesn't seem to be an incentive to buy daily, especially when you start without a star. I would have bought Sophia today, as she's nice, but with no star, the price isn't enticing (she's just "nice", not the "OMG! She's perfect and I need her for my project right now" product). Do I care enough to buy OS/QG items today (and possibly tomorrow) in case she's available tomorrow as well? Probably not. So tomorrow, the cycle will repeat itself. With Christmas, we knew it was coming and we would need daily purchases, so it was easy to plan to buy before to get calendar/nice list items from the get-go. And the calendar was a good incetive. With March Madness, there was no hint (in the past, I don't recall any version of Golden Tickets/Doorbusters/Punches), so anyone who wants to participate, is excluded from today's and tomorrow's shopping until they get to the gold star (which, except for the gold star item, is necessary to get any kind of good deals).
It seems that I might be sitting March Madness out, because I'm not sure I want to do (almost) daily purchases of QG/OS items. If there are any good ones on Monday changeover, I might spread them out like you, and I still have my Daz coupons to use, but I'm not positive I'll play. In fairness, though, I just paid nearly $200 to get the remaining collector's edition books in my favorite series ever, so I need a lot more incentives to spend more money at Daz.
