Alexandra and Leisa are interesting. I really like Leisa's materials!  Now I have a confession- I was surprised to see materials impact the facial  features so much in that they look like morphs to me. Or what I consider morphs.  I always thought of the materials as the "skin covering" on top the mesh, and the morphs as the mesh.  Two separate things. The eye wrinkles using Alexandra materials are so deep compared to Leisa's materials, those would have been a morph to me, aka part of the mesh. The wrinkles aren't just drawn in, they catch light and make shadows, right?  I don't model or do materials, so I haven't a clue.

 Am I making sense? 

Yes.

I'd look, but I'm rendering right now. I suspect the difference is in the normal maps, which will fake the displacement so they "catch light and make shadows" but if you could look at it from an angle, the mesh would be smooth, wrinkle free.

I actually remember why I bought Dwayne. He's required for Brandon, who I do like. When I put items in the cart I want, and the price is close to or more than the bundle, I go for the bundle. And I wanted the Variety Facial Hair from RedzStudio. I've since kitbashed from a couple of the wardrobe items. It wasn't a bad value overall, even without wanting Dwayne per se.

It's probably Alexandra's normal maps that make her crows feet look so deep. I bet if you put her normals on Leisa it would look the same.

That's exactly true.

That is why I liked Ollie, why I like Dasan. They stand out. They are not handsome by any conventional ways (maybe Dasan used to be in his youth) but they stand out. They look like they have a life outsite of the render, a personality.

I agree. I think if Daz made Lucas now, obviously a little more detail would go into his skin and materials and he'd probably have something to give him a youthful quirkiness. Was he the companion to Charlotte? I think Charlotte still looks really great, but I agree Lucas seems a bit waxy and matte in his promos... but that's not a judgement on the morph! Perhaps with a more HD skin texture + normals, some asymmetry dialled in, he'd look brand new :) :) Dasan's materials are clearly outstanding. He makes me excited for what's coming down the pipeline with the DO core characters :D    

I'm excited too, but I have to temper it with the memory that the Core Figures are an uneven bunch. Speaking only of skins: I thought we had entered an age of excellence with Babina 8, but Teen Raven 8's skin was lackluster (though her morph is one of my favourites). Then Leisa 8 was near Babina 8's level, but Jenni 8 was a step down, and Robyn looked like a V4 skin. Darcy was too painted, but CJ 8 brought the level back up, and Josephene's skin was pretty decent.

Dain 8 had the best skin of any of the men preceding. Leroy was too painted. Jonathan was quite good, and now Dasan is on the photographic level if he's lit competently (which is MY issue). His morph is amazing.

Okay, I finished up with Khepri last night, and not pleased with the infinitesimal difference some characters by the same vendor. IMO it was definitely not worth buying them unless it's for the textures, and there's other characters textures so similar I wouldn't even go that route. I'm putting these in the order which makes sense, with the ones with very little change next to each other.

Khepri is the base character who got added to by all the others. This is with Latonya 8.  All of these are Option A, with 50 / 50 percents.  I'm adding the vendors' names so you can see who really goes the distance with making unique morphs.  And of course, even if there is a little change, the morphs could still be really different when added to the Genesis 8 character, but they may be similar to THIS character so it appears there aren't many morphs. 

However, if there is very little change between two characters added to this one, IMO it means the vendor didn't do much IF IT'S THE SAME VENDOR FOR BOTH THOSE CHARACTERS BEING ADDED. But here's the question- if you are using the SHAPING PANE and that character is for another one (let's say for Latonya 8) is other character (Latonya) also built in to the shaping pane or is it just a Genesis 8?

Wow, great job!  Leisa and Bridget are very telling. Hardly any difference at all to me.  Darcy on the other hand, does change things up. And I'm always interested in the Aiko input, she adds that youthful, minimal cartoony aspect.

Compared Kala and Latonya and one has a bit more of a snub nose. These are all really interesting, thanks for doing those! 

I think I got carried away on this! Some of these are pretty hard to tell apart. When I owned the HD addon for a character, I used it at 50%. Without the HD, the features are much softer, of course.

So apparently, this product has gotten scrambled since its release.

a) A store search will bring up the full product's name as soon as you type enough letters, but then goes to a Leisa 8 Bundle, which does NOT include this product.

I assume that this was originally included in the bundle, but then taken out- which broke this product.

b) It doesn't show up in smart content- everything else purchased with it, does.

c) DIM install installs, but the product has the missing image icons and all the files are empty in content library.

Is this a me thing, as in database needs something or is this product bonkers?
Has anyone else tried to install this yet?
Before I do a ticket, I'll ask because I already have a ticket open over another product doing the same thing.

I find it more and more common that products are starting to break in my library.

More and more missing items and products that won't update.
