Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.1.30! (HOTFIX - Release Candidate 3 - UPDATED)
mmmm,,,, Usually, when we see auto-applied morph problem,, it must happen about all same character.duf.
if it happen about second loaded G3F , it should happen first loaded G3F too.. without you use different character preset, or overwritten scene subset.
then Alienrenders case seems somehow special.
And If those problem morphs change default and current value, and were saved as each morph.dsf,,so that they are auto applied,, the way to overwrite character preest may only work about the character(or subset).duf.
when you load other character which use same base,,, it still load these problem morphs. Usually genesis3female.duf, which packaged in genesis3female starter kit., discribe only few morph value ( like, naval, or HD mouse) , and may better not change them. to solve morph applied problem,, we usually need to find problem morphs, and change default, and current value,,, about each problem morph.dsf ,,, (by editor,, or ovwrite them from daz studio..)
about character.duf,, even though it was overwritten,, and cause problem ,, should be easy re-installed clean one.
I know,, user will re-install genesis3starter essentials when they first see auto-applied morph problem.(but main reason is usually,, in morph.dsf,, so that usually,, tweak genesis3female.duf (character) can not completely remove this problem)
Modifying auto-follow and making jcm issueDid you re-save the corrected morph as a morph asset to replace the auto-generated one?
Modifying auto-follow and making jcm issueHi,
I'm working on something to start being a PA. I've finished the modelling and texturing and started to prepare them on Daz Studio but, FBM corrections seem to work after about 10-14 tries. The FBM get new poke throughs on parts I didnt even touch when fixing the initial ones and as said, sometimes it take as much as 14 times to get one working, just to found them messed up again after reload.. and JCMs seems to work at first try as I make them but always, always, after reloading they're not only working, the joint issue sometimes is far worse than before.
I've followed both tutorials, I think that I do nothing wrong as the JCMs, or FBM, work when I just do them. My workflow is: I load and auto-follow it with the transfer tool, it looks perfect on G3F, I try FBM, or PBMs, and look at joints to make JCMs, then using the GOZ, I fix them, and use GOZ again, morph loader pro appears, chechk the correct thingies (for FBM/PBM or JCMs) they work ( (eventhough for the FBM/PBM I see them correctly on ZBrush, and they go to Daz like they want..., so its a thing of try and error until I get it well), even the JCMs work on the fixed FBMs, but eventhough I save the document, and the garment, no matter how many times I try, or how (using export instead of GOZ, different scales...) I do it, they go just bad.
Any help would be welcome, thanks.
Zone Smoother for Genesis 3 Female(s) - Will work in DS4.8 pro?I'm assuming that the bug fix will be in the product if we wait a few days to download it?
It's actually already in there, so you can download it right away

Have not tested it until now, not enough time, two questions:
1. Once created, will a morph stay forever? Means, if I use zone smoother for a pose and then I zero the figure and save it as a scene for example (what I do) and reopen it, will the morph be there?
2. Is it possible to delete a once created morph (can be that I do something wrong and want to delete the morph) ?
Hello Cosmo!
1. Yes, your smoothed morphs will be saved with your scene and will be ther when you reload.
2. Also yes :-). When you create a smoothed morph, there is an undo button which will delete the new morph if you aren't happy with it. You can alos overwrite a smoothed morph just by naming the new morph the same thing (you'll be prompted to aask if you want to replace the old morph).
ah okay, that`s cool, maybe I find some time so a can try it this weekend...
Asian female face morphThank you so much for this great morph i am sure i dont speak for just myself but we all will get alot of mileage out of this one.
Daniel
Wow~ Perfect Render with BG :)
Asian female face morphThe I Wanted Mousse But Got A Moose Instead Complaint Thread....I have that and a number of Howie's other sets. Purchased them for scenes that take place on the grounds of the Grande Estate in my story, but had issues porting the characters in as Carrara doesn't recognise some of the morph and skin resoruce kits which I used.
I know I've ported Daz setups and "scene subsets" to Carrara before (ver 6.1) with no toruble. For some reason, 8.5 Pro seems not to like it.
Sapphire & the Coloured GirlsI was instantly drawn to the figure (as I am with most of Raiya's beauties) because I thought she looked a teensy like Rhianna, who is from Barbados and whose father is part Irish (and therefore definitely mixed race). I had no idea about the Sapphire thing, but I am of the belief that's its only a big deal if people make it a big deal ;).
Cara is far and away my favorite character of ANY Genesis variety - her delicate beauty and skin color beat all the other characters hands-down ;).
Laurie
I concur. Here's a 3Delight test render of Cara's skin with a custom face morph.
NEW! Novica & Invited Guest Contributors Tips & Product Reviews Pt 6Ratings: Mysterious Tomb is awesome with water inside, and many great camera angles for broken columns and vegetation. P3D Fukiko will require a lot of tweaking if you don't like redder skin. She was easy to morph for expressions. Nomad outfit had very limited morphs for the parka, disappointing in that aspect. Parent the parka to the sweater to help with pokethrough. NO other fixes in Scene tabs other than the usual bend, twist, scale. Nomad is nicely done otherwise, great layered clothing.
Mysterious Tomb is HUGE and the tomb has water inside- it's really neat. And in the promotion, you can get it for 50% off with purchase of newly released items. Lots of rendering opportunities with that set.
P3D Fukiko required a LOT of skin tweaks, she was very ruddy IMO. I took the skin settings from Ragnar (the man in the scene) to lighten her up and even then, I had to really change a lot of other settings.
I had quite a bit of pokethrough with the sweater and the parka for the male in the Nomad outfit. Frankly, I was disappointed in the parka morphs, felt they were limited. In Scene, it's the typical twist, scale, etc. Notice there's no chest adjustments and the sweater poked through on the right, one sleeve had pokethrough and no sleeve adjustments, etc. So I would give the included morphs a FAIL for the Parka. I was disappointed. (TIP: load the sweater first, then load the parka and parent/fit to the sweater.) My guy isn't even in an extreme pose and there was a lot of pokethrough in the sleeve and upper chest/side. It does have a nice sit morph however, which will come in handy to swing the front out for strides. Look at the lack of chest and sleeve help: (and waist, I just noticed that too.)

SitHelperSecond, the shirt with the glowing green stripe makes absolutely no sense for this outfit IMO. Looks out of place. They want you to buy the texture set obviously (which I didn't. I'll use a shader.)
Genesis 3 GoZ with HDWell what a shame.. after experimenting again and agin, losing a few days lifetime and after what i had to read tonight i give up on hd morphs and daz.. that is the way it has been for years and seems to go on.. Feels a bit like driving in your Ferrari in first gear all the time. Daz Studio is great but without optional HD morph buy-in, well I have no words to be honest..Felt stupid for days, why not label the product "it works only first gear.." fortunally i found a great tutorial from Richard on the Displacement Maps, the results are nice and maybe it helps you to achieve your goals. Thanks Richard for the great amount of help in this forum, I have read your name very often. Regards and good night.
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.1.30! (HOTFIX - Release Candidate 3 - UPDATED)Then can you show log file, when you load second genesis3? if it load some morph value,, I think they are discribed as log file.
It just lists all the morphs that are modified. I need to figure out how to stop these from being loaded. However, I do have some other warnings about target morphs not found and a whole bunch about animation properties when I load the first G3F figure.
I re-installed the app and also the G3F essentials. Still have the same problems.
Do the Genesis Characters Have Names (and versions)?Genesis 3 Male : Eddie
Genesis 3 Female : Jeane
Genesis 2 Male : Phillip
Genesis 2 Female : Bree
Genesis Male : Jeremy
Genesis Female : Lana
Milleneum 4 Male : Michael 4
Milleneum 4 Female: Victoria 4
but people never call them that, they say, G3M, G3F, G2M, G2F, or Gen (Gen because the male & female use the same mesh in the original Genesis).
Victoria 4 and Michael 4 were the last time those two characters were free as part of DAZ Studio I believe and those were the last non-Genesis characters.
They call the Victoria 5 and Michael 5 - V5 & M5 (Genesis), Victoria 6 and Michael 6 - V6 & M6, and finally Victoria 7 and Michael 7 - V7 & M7. Those are paid characters now and if you look in the DAZ Store there are many similar Genesis 1, 2, & 3 characters to choose from. Those characters will be 'DAZ Originals' and are more than just a face morph and set of textures.
The Milleneum characters go all the way back to about 2000, although I think Victoria has always been the name of the main Milleneum female character, I think the original Milleneum male character was David.
There is probably a DAZ Store web page or thread sticky that says all this in more detail.

Genesis 3 GoZ with HDYes, the PA plug-in is required to load HD detail as a morph. Only displacement/normals/convert to high-resolution prop are available to the rest of us.
Fairytale Princess for Genesis 3 Female(s) - skirt movements do only work if loaded complete setJust bought the Fairytale Princess for Genesis 3 Female(s) and have to say that the skirt movements do not work, not as morph, with the universal tool and/or also not as pose transform via sliders if the skirt is loaded as separate wardrope. Also does the skirt not follow leg poses like the princess dress for g3f does.
UPDATE : The posing of the skirt/dress works only if you load the complete set, if you just load the skirt/dress the posing of it works not. Autofollow works also if loaded as set but not if loaded just the skirt/dress. It also works after deleting the overskirt. So if you just want the skirt you have to load all and delete what you don`t want/need.
First image with just the dress loaded, second image loaded the complete set and deleting everything I do not need (overskirt/shoes)
DAZ Studio 4.9 Pro, General Release, Now Available! So let's say I have a 4.8 installer still, I already used the DIM to upgrade to 4.9, how would I go about getting them side by side? Basically what I want is to install my content via 4.8 (for the scan known directories function) Then transfer those categories I created over to 4.9 because I do have Connect only items to install too. Sorrry if my train of thought derails a bit, I am coping with a flu rigth now.
March 2016 New User 3D Art Contest “Posing” (WIP Thread)@Kismet2012 Yes, it does and I did have that, but had an irretreivable accident and had to load a new wolf and the expression didn't transfer to the new wolf, just the pose. I simply forgot to readjust the expression. I'll fix that. I figured out why the expression didn't get set with the pose preset I saved, too, so I should be able save it with the pose now.
Rigging woes for Geographed limbsHad you memorised the rigging before adjusting it? Did you try doing the adjustment with the morph set on an unfitted version of the figure?
Rigging woes for Geographed limbsIt was one of those morphs I made just to see if it could be done. One of these days I'm going to have to learn how to do JCMs and then I should be able to make that morph even better.
Genesis 3 GoZ with HDHey Manuel,
just read this thread and mybe i can help you. Just started with daz and zbrush (nice trial!!) a week ago and it took me some nights to figure out the workflow but now it works for me and maybe it is what you are looking for :-)
1.load genesis 3 to daz, if necessary pose into best position for morph (e.g. lift arms to morph underneath and so on)
2. reduce "Mesh resolution to base" and "subdivison level off"
3. "send to zbrush" via goz (if your figure is in high res + subdivision it will automatically reduce those if you do not check the resolution box.. .. as you already noticed)
4. pull the figure into the window, hit the" edit button", move and scale it
5. in tool pane go to "morph target" und press "StoreMT" (now the base mesh polygons are saved as they are - in the ONLY possible resolution to get them back to daz correctly)
6. go to Geometry and switch to "Higher Res" (as you notice Dynamic Subdiv will activate automatically) - the resolution is way better now and general morphs should work fine
7. if necessary hit the "Divide button" for more details (the Mesh Resolution shoud rise and the slider with position SDiv 2 activates)
8. if necessary hit the divide button again (i did not check limits on that, SDiv 3 worked well for me in regards of detail and no problems back in daz, maybe, only maybe it works with higher numbers also)
9. morph and get desired shape (this is where i am hanging at the moment - not so easy to deal all these brushes and settings in zbrush)
10. now the trick :-) after finishing your morph - move the "SDiv Slider to the left (value 1)"
11. go to "Morph Target" and hit "CreateDiff Mesh" and push the "switch" button (your figure should switch back to lower resolution and the morph gos on and off as you keep hitting the button :-)
12. finally hit the" GoZ button", name your morph in daz, put in desired path, (nothing else changed), and "Accept"
13. test your morph in "base Mesh Settings" and then switch to "high res" and "SubDivision Level 2" - everything should be great now :-)
Hope this helped and works for you and others, best regards, Christoph
Hi!!
Thank you so much for your advice and the detailed description! I've tried it and I was able to sculpt with very high detailed mesh in ZBrush and bring the morph back to DAZ Studio but I was not able to bring the details of the morph back to DAZ.
I made a couple of screenshots to illustrate the workflow.
- The first screenshot shows my Genesis 3 (Victoria 7 based) Model with no SubDivs in DAZ.
- The second shows the low poly mesh in ZBrush
- The third shows some sculpting after hitting the StoreMT button and increasing the resolution ("Higher Res" button and 2 times "Divide" button). The sculpt is just to illustrate some details. Please notice that I made some big changes on the top and some high details at the bottom.
- The fourth illustrates switching the subdiv level back to 1 just before hitting the "CreateDiff Mesh" button.
- The next one (5) shows the mesh after the "CreateDiff Mesh" and "Switch" button.
- The sixth is the DAZ dialog for importing the mesh (of course I had to hit the "Switch" button in ZBrush again to get the sculpt back)
- The 7th images shows the morph set to 100% on base resolution of Genesis 3. Notice that the big changes on top are applied but we cannot see the details at the bottom.
- The last one shows Genesis 3 with 3 Subdiv levels. Everything is smooth and the rough changes are there but the details at the bottom are barely visible at all.
Am I doing something wrong or is is really just possible with the Plugin that is available only for PAs?Thanks for any help!
