Clothing for Schmoes
Tried quite a few options that I have and can't seem to come close to fitting anything to the 'Schmoes' K4 morph. Afraid to purchase anything for them, not knowing if it will fit. Can anyone suggest something that WILL fit the character? The character page shows them wearing a hat, sweater and pants. But WHAT hat, sweater and pants? Any other clothes fit? Not real good with Daz yet so if I need to do something 'special' to make the clothes fit, can you please explain. Would really appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks all!
Genesis or Genesis 2Morphs from Genesis 1 won't work on Genesis 2 by default. If you want to transfer morphs from Genesis 1 to genesis 2 female or male you can do it using a product called Genesis Generation X2. It also works in reverse if you want to transfer from Genesis 2 to genesis 1 and works if you want to transfer morphs from genesis 2 Male to Genesis 2 female.
Its worth it if you want to have more morph options from both Generations especially some of the more unique morphs like toons and monsters that are exclusive to the genesis 1 or 2. I'm hoping for the 3rd version so I can transfer all my morphs from Genesis 1 and 2 to Genesis 3.
Large Breast IssueYou can pose each individual pectoral in parameters or rotate tool if using Genesis 2 or 3.
If you have the Daz Female morphs you can play with the Breast Heavy dial or Natural Breast dial as well as multiple breast shapes that look natural.
There is also zev0's breast control which is available for each genesis models that comes wtih similar Breast Sag dial, a bunch of Breast Curve , Under Curve and Armpit Curve dials as well as more pose control dials in parameters that let you rotate, change width, flatten and move breast together or apart.
Last but more complicated is using Dformers to morph the breast manually to your liking or even more complicated create your own morph through seperate 3d software.
Looking for Textures for Growing Up for G3MOther than waiting for Zev0's product, probably your best option is to get this product:
http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-uv-swap-male-and-female-base
and use female skins on your younger male characters. Skin textures of boys and girls are not that different, so the skins for girl characters, like Skyler could be used. Beyond those many adult female skins are also usable on younger characters as long as you avoid the ones with plucked eyebrows (these look weird on girls as well).
A final option is to get Blacksmith3D texture convertor and the M4 to G3M plug-in. You can then transfer suitable M4 skins to G3M, (or convert K4 skins to M4 and move them).
Reverse Deformation by ScriptUnfortunately not in this instance. The particular issue I'm having is with creating new morph deltas for a posed character. The deltas are caluclated in world space based on the cached geo for the posed figure. This works fine until the scene is saved and reloaded. On reload, the deltas are applied to the unposed, base geo, which means the deltas are no longer valid (long story short, the morphs look wonky). I've been able to work around it for now. I've got a PostLoad script that identifies the custom morphs and reapplies their deltas. This works, and it's pretty much invisible to the end user, but I'm still wondeing if there's a more efficient way to do it. I also tried creating the WS deltas, zeroing the figures pose, forcing a cache update, and recalculating which seemed, in theory, like it would work.. but it didn't :-P
I'm wondering now if there is some way to execute Morph Loader Pro silently.
Where in the World has the Forum Gremlin gone Now? Complaint ThreadWhat is the difference between Genesis 2 and the morph 3D figures.
DUF vs DSF, nothing to identify which is which...AFAIK, DSF are the geometry and morph files, DUF are user-interfacing files for presets and such. So you wouldn't want to delete either.
That might be "One use", but both load the same exact things...
Abused standards...
I guess the DUF is loading the objects from another location, but the DSF is the actual object itself, without a loader, as it is the loader itself. One does not load the other, in the files I have... EG, loading the DUF is not loading the DSF. It points to other files in other locations. These are both side by side in the same folder, with the icon, both resulting in the same exact "scenery" being loaded. With duplicate items of the same name, displayed as the same image, loading two different things that are exactly the same.
Reverse Deformation by ScriptCouldn't you just tell it to call the morph at a value of -1.0 or -100%?
NEW! Novica & Invited Guest Contributors Tips & Product Reviews Pt 6Those are beautiful!
Regal Cordivae is another texture set for Corvidae Dress. Note that the name of the dress is misspelled in the product name of this texture set. No wonder I have such a hard time spelling it correctly!
In this render I fit the dress to a dialed morph of Genesis 3 Female. It fits quite well, but the nifty dress poses that Novica described don't work when the dress is fit to Genesis 3 Female. I selected all surfaces of the dress and applied the Iray Uber Shader. She is wearing Christina Hair, which has nice morphs and Iray textures. The skin texture is Olympia 7.
MUUD for G3M [commercial]Heh, I actually thought of the Golgothan from Dogma when I first saw it. Just morph the horn shapes and give it a glossier texture... eeew.
Not just me, then?

Me too...
Wings That Can Morph Into CapeI was hoping a PA could create wings for a humaniod (G2F would be awesome =) ) that could change into a cape (check the link I've included). Or two seperate props would work too, just it has to look like the wings are folded into the a cape, like the way Disney's Gargoyles wear their wings when they aren't flying http://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/disney-gargoyles-goliath.jpg Dragon wings would really suit my purposes personally, btw. Just thought I would toss this idea out there. Thanks =)
ZDG random Daz Studio discoveries and questions.Since 3Delight does NOT support Catmark subdivision, there has to be some sort of translation occuring. My guess is that Studio is simply fully tesselating the mesh and writing it out as a polygon mesh, not a subdivision surface (and yes, that is a very important distinction to the renderer).
That's what I suspect as well.
But there looks to be a translator hidden somewhere inside the mechanics: because HD morphs export to RIB and render perfectly.
Try this:
- load any Genesis figure and inject an HD morph into it. Something distinctly visible, like hand tendons from Zev0's aging pack addon.
- change subdivision to "Legacy" and render. Result: the morph is barely there.
- change back to Catmark and render. Result: the morph is perfect.
- export to RIB. According to the RIB, it's Catmull-Clark = "legacy". But if you render, the result will be a perfect morph.
If only we had a version of the standalone identical to the one built into DS, we could compare the time the renders take...
I have a question bout Carrara videos in games.a video is fine or any sort of render as is sprites made from renders used in games also meshes sold for games like at Unity, Unreal etc including the Morph 3D product or Ateria etc are fine
the licensces are required for DAZ 3D store meshes used in 3D games not renders
connect and V4Because of the ExP technology V4 uses, any morph packs (i.e. Aiko 4, Morphs++, etc.) MUST be installed to the same base directory as V4 herself, otherwise, the morphs won't function correctly. Connect, however, installs each product to it's own individual directory, which breaks the ExP.
I doubt DAZ will invest the time and resources necessary to overcome this issue, as their focus is now on the Genesis platforms.
I've set up V4 and the ExP morphs as a seperate Poser installation.
Growing Up Skin Merchant Resource for Genesis 3 Female and Male [Commercial]Yes, I forgot that the Brothers and Sisters had skins that came with them. It has been awhile since I've used those straight out of the box so I forgot. I have a couple of modified ones based on them, ones I did myself, that I use when I need them. Might have to dig them out and remind myself what they look like without my tampering with them. :) I do, also, have a few favorite K4 skins that I converted that do rather well. And, you are right, I can't see being able to convert those easily to G3.
If you're interested, you could convert K4 to V4 or M4 using 3D Universe's Texture Convertor and plug-ins. Then convert to G3F using Cayman Studios new utility or convert to G3F or G3M using Blacksmith3D's Texture Transformer with Add-Ons.
An alternative, it you do not have 3DU's texture convertor, is to load K4 onto Genesis, and then use the map transfer tool to convert to V4 (or M4 to convert using Blacksmith3D's tool)
Genesis 2 to Genesis 3 converterThere are some definite clothing and other products in Genesis 2 and prior products that I doubt will be recreated just for Genesis 3 so such a converter / transfer product does have a need but I think the 'porting' of eg, Genesis 2 outfit to Genesis 3 would invlove stripping the morphs and rigging from the Genesis 2 clothing and re-rigging and re-transferring morphs to the Genesis 2 clothing after fitting the clothing the the Genesis 3 character.
That can be done sure but it probably isn't easy.
As far as transferring morphs well as I understand it in most cases that should be easy but with some geometry changes in Genesis 3 characters some morphs are going to not transfer or look bad and manual adjustments made.
The Guy 7, looks like it's officialHmmm...I bought 'The Girl' and I've been looking for the morph that makes her breasts smaller but there is none. In fact when I look at the morphs for the Girl there are just morphs to slide on a scale of fatness - skininess - muscularity and between 'the Girl 7' and 'Genesis 3' look. It would be nice if the Gorl could morph between infant - girl - teen - woman - elderly but I see no morph controls for such things.
Do I to but all though seperate Genesis 3 Body and Face Morph sets to get the earlier talked about breast morphs or was that something only include in the Girl 7 Pro Bundle? In which case that the Girl 7, the Girl 7, and the Girl 7 Pro would have different morphing available that is not spelled on in the product description isn't really good or acceptable business practice. If that breast morph functionality is part of that suite of Genesis 3 face & body morphs, fine, I will buy those.
I look forward to buying the Guy too as there is no toon style male to make Girl 7. The Cory character is good but since so many people are complaining maybe they'll give a stronger jaw, thinner lips, and a heavier brow for starters.
I didn't buy the Girl 7 Pro Bundle as too much of it was repetitive or not anything I'd use but I did buy several parts of it seperately.
The Girl 7 comes with hidden fixer morphs for the breast small and breast gone morphs from the genesis 3 body morphs. So if you apply one of those, the hidden helper morph applies automatically and makes them look good.
The Girl 6 did not and it was nigh impossible to get her to have small breasts,
The Guy 7, looks like it's officialThanks. I will buy those. The earlier commenter must of already purchased and installed those products.
I will say the morphs on those morph bundles for fatness and skinniness and such are much, much, much nicer.

Genesis 3 Body morphs have more breast adjustment options (works on all Genesis 3 characters) as does Breast Control by Zev0, and Growing up is for age adjusting.
Different bundles never have additional morphs that aren't in the other bundles, only the items listed on the product page.
