Introduce Yourself, Hello, my name is.....
Welcome to the forums George.
I would recommend starting with the basic morphs for the Genesis 3 figures: Genesis 3 Female Head Morphs, Genesis 3 Female Body Morphs, Genesis 3 Female Expressions, Genesis 3 Male Head Morphs, Genesis 3 Male Body Morphs, Genesis 3 Male Expressions.
There are some very good morph sets by Zevo, i13 Squish Soft Body Effect Morphs for the Genesis 3 Female(s) by Ironman13 and other vendors depending on what exactly you want to do.
Thank You for the great advice Kismet2012.
Fiddling with Iray skin settings...What exactly is the use of the iris correction morph in g3f? It just seem to push the entire iris in like a flat disc. why would they do that instead of sink it gradually from the edge, wich I assume would make a more realistic eye :S
File Size after MorphsYes, that's the way it's supposed to work — when you add a new morph to a character, then save it as a proper Support Asset, all the proper morph definition files are tucked away into your /data/ folder once, for use in other characters. The only thing that gets saved in your character .duf file are the morph value settings. If you skip the Support Asset step, all the morph data gets dumped into the .duf file, every time you save it.
NEW! Novica & Invited Guest Contributors Tips & Product Reviews Pt 6Okay, call me crazy, now I'm looking at Mog Ruith. All the add-ons and Mog Ruith are only .80 (96% off) so now I'm wondering if anyone has any renders of those? Even if they aren't stellar, would be good for DOF background buildings for period pieces. Even in theme parks where they have different time periods.
I used this a LONG time ago. It's by, believe it or not, Stonemason. For .80 Millennium Environment and Private Places goes with it. With DOF these would be interesting. They have props, it's not just a background. Parts of these actually morph. I don't have Private Places, I'll see about the Millennium Environment for a render tomorrow. Gotta get some sleep, up early this morning, so ttyl.
Fiddling with Iray skin settings...i still try to use the normal surfaces and UV's to keep it compatible with Genesis3...
and searching for a compromise which renders FAST ... while still looking great... i dont see a lot of gain using SSS on the cornea... it does never bundle the light to the oposite part of the iris like it should - i tried about every refraction between 1.2 and 1.6 and different cornea shapes... i think the only way is a concave iris (morph) such as you used one on the orginal eyes.
Which values are you using on the cornea above?
"not reflect at the edge" -> i am facing the same problem.. trans map must be perfect fitted by pixels... or i can see reflection and "thickness" in sideviews.... which makes it not possible to use iris size morphs anymore... maybe 3 different sizes? hmm
Loading DieTrying's Morph into DAZ on MacHey guys,
I'm not very tech-savvy, and I just need to know how to load this file onto DAZ in order to use it. I'm on a Mac and I don't really know what I am doing wrong.
http://www.sharecg.com/v/72792/favorite/21/daz-studio/dietryings-182-morphs-for-genesis-2-female
I downloaded it from here and I already tried putting it in My DAZ 3D Library > data > DAZ3D > Genesis 2 > Female > Morphs > DAZ3D folder where all the other .dsf files are but it's not working.
Someone help please? Again, I'm on Mac and I just started using the program so forgive me for my ignorance
Transferring Morphs from Genesis to G2M/G2F and from G2M/G2F to Genesis (Now with Clones!)Its actually pretty simple. What I create is a clone where the top half is the clone of the figure I'm converting from, but the bottom half is the default figure. That way the clone basically tells the skirt okay now, do nothing.
What I do is export a G3f at base res with no morphs and a version with the clone I want to modify dialed in.
I load both these objects in blender (file > import > obj and make sure keep vertex order is checked)
I select the clone and shift-select the base object to select both
In the object data panel (the upside down triangle on the right) I go to shape keys > join as shapes. This makes the clone work like a morph would in studio. Dial in your clone shape key. You can now delete the clone itself (fig1)
In edit mode I select the top half of the figure. To do so quickly hit 'z' (oops not x) to make the figure see through and c for circle select (left click to select stuff scroll wheel to make the circle bigger or smaller right click when you're done selecting) (fig2)
I make a vertex group in the object data panel and hit assign to assign my selected vertices.
I go to weight painting and turn on x symmetry under option on the left panel. Select the blur brush (tools on the left panel) and smooth out my vertex group, making sure things like the buttcrack stay fully blue. (fig3)
In the object data panel under shape keys there's a blank box labled blend. Click it to add your vertex group. This will blend the shape key so it only applies to vertices in the group i.e. looking in the weight painting mode the red area the morph will apply fully the blue areas it wont apply at all and the in between areas it will apply a bit. (fig4)
You now have a mermaid, your clone on top and the default figure on the bottom. export this object (file > export > obj and generally I check selection only so only the what I want is selected)
Go back to DS and whip out morph loader pro select your morph file name the morph something non-hideous like 'V4 Clone Skirt'. Set the property group to hidden/clones and import it It should load fine.
Go to hidden/clones select your new clone click the gear > parameter settings and in the options check hidden and the type as modifier/clone
YAY!
K4 to Genesis 2 Stumped!BTW: Using those add-ons your bought you could create morphs for M3,V3,A3,or any of the 3 kids (laura, maddie, matt etc) on Genesis 2, and change them into clones. That way any Gen 3 clothing can be autofit directly onto G2F or G2M. Like any autofit items, how well it transfers will vary, but it will look 100 times better than attempting to autofit without the clones.
How do you go about turning the morph into a clone, and where do you save it to use with autofit?
Helen Hunt look-alike model?OK then. I will search tomorrow and if somehow transfering this morph to V4 is free and can be done in a couple of hours I'll do that. Otherwise, you'll get as similar as above as I can manage to make with G1.
As far as G3 goes, from what I understand due to the added geometry in the lips there is no way to transfer morphs easily there yet but I'll look. That FaceGen Artist Pro product will eventually have a G3 option but no timetable by the developer for it's release.
I'll post back when I'm finished. Oh, and can I post the duf & dsf here without getting into trouble?
Helen Hunt look-alike model? She's looking great :D And I also don't want you to have to spend any money on it, either. Your time and expertise is already invaluable.
OK, so if that is OK then I can attach the (G2F) Helen Hunt.dsf file, and the Helen Hunt.duf file and you are set. If you don't have the products the duf tried to open to make the scene you can replace with other products. I also made a G1 Helen Hunt.dsf file that's the same morph but can't recreate the G2 Helen Hunt.duf exactly if you want a G1 Helen Hunt duf. So, unless you want the morph transferred to V4, in which case I'll look how to do that tomorrow.
Loading Morphs > Reverse Deformations > Load Pose?Greetings,
I notice that there is 'Load Pose' option in Morph Loader Pro (see below). Is there a way to pose, correct deformations, then load the pose to extract the individual ERC links?
Runtime DNA content migration and downloadI think that's the reason they're keeping the downloads available at RDNA through the end of 2016, so that we have plenty of time to wait until they can tell us which products, if any, won't be migrated.
Yeah...I saw that and I'm not rushing to download anything yet. If it transfers over to here there is no need to do anything. Steve's post here doesn't match the one he made on RDNA though. I was all set to just let everything transfer over...sorry if this seems negative but I'm really confused over what is happening.
I think it's a matter of Daz will try to migrate over everything they can, but if a vendor or former vendor refuses to allow their products to migrate then DAZ can't migrate them.
Helen Hunt look-alike model?OK, I don't have much of a DAZ or Poser library of skin or hair to work with but I did get something similar to Odaa above. It is difficult to get a picture of someone looking straight on and with a neutral expression.
I used FaceGen Artist Pro, Genesis 2 Female, Alani Default Skin and Alana Eye 01 (those are part of the Callie 6 Pro Bundle), and Aldori Hair with it's correspomding blonde mat. I'm pretty sure I could go on the DAZ Store and search for the best matching skin and hair and get closer than this but I'll leave to to you.
Like Odaa, I also tried to put a smile on her face and although it was pretty good, it wasn't quite a Helen Hunt smile although I could have kept tweeking I suppose and come closer. I think for more exactness one needs more practice more than I do or to use old film footage to capture her way of expression more precisely.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the caricature given the short amount of time I spent on it. If you like over the next several days I can try a few more pictures to try and get a better likeness of her in FaceGen. Once you are satified I will transfer the Helen Hunt.dsf to a V4 morph if it doesn't involve me buying more DAZ products or too much work. I'd have to search on the forums for how to do that as I mostly use DAZ to convert the toon Poser models I've licensed to FBX files and not much else; although I've decided to try and learn more recently, like this learning how to use FaceGen effectively.
Oh, and I need to shop for modern female clothing that's more typical. I thought I have got some with the Callie bundle but I didn't.

Runtime DNA content migration and downloadThat was what I thought but as it went against what was previously stated I was trying to get a clearer answer as it left me feeling uncertain as to what was happening.
Thanks for trying to clarify Mike, not trying to cause trouble I'm just trying to work out what I need to do and for what products. I'd been under the impression that all would transfer across to our accounts but that some products wouldn't necessarily migrate to the store here. Now I'm just confused...and unsure what I need to do to. : (
K4 to Genesis 2 Stumped!Mikes solution should work. You can get a K4 clone onto Genesis 2, but you have to use GenX (or transfer utility) to get a K4 morph over to G2F or G2M, and then change this morph into a clone.
Runtime DNA Merges With Daz 3D*gasp* Does this mean my absolute favorite outfit will get ported over to G2F/G3F???? (http://www.runtimedna.com/Oohlala.html)
That would be one item crossed off my bucket list!!!!
The thought of this almost makes me as excited as that woman from Independance Day who said "God, I hope they bring back Elvis!"
Only if those vendors decide to port it over. If not, than it'll stay a V4 product only.
Couldn't hurt to ask Littlefox at some point.
But in the meantime it seems to transfer ok to G3f with Wear Them All. The shoes are the only part that gives me trouble.
New to Victoria 4.2As you've noticed, the 4th generation figures don't load with the morphs already active the way the Genesis figures do. There are 3 ways to activate the morphs:
1 - In the Poser Formats > Pose > Daz' Victoria 4 > Morph Injections folder there are presets to inject sets of morphs (or individual morphs if you don't want them all loaded). Note that these just activate the morphs, you still need t go to the Parameters pane to dial them in,
2 - If you use DS and install the Powerloader package then a dialog box will open when you load the figure in which you can specify what morphs to inject.
3 - To make her load like Genesis does, load her and inject all the morphs, then save it as a Scene Subset. The Scene Subset will load with all the morphs available but won't use memory for them if they are left at their default values.
How I can locate Hexagon? Help please!I want to create a new morph from Victoria 7 with Hexagon. I can't locate it. I bought hexagon. What I can do? Thanks!
Locating Content not installed via Daz Connect.4.9 still uses the old folder structure for things not installed with Connect, like stuff from other stores and stuff installed with DIM. Currently you can't install the 4th generation stuff with Connect for purely technical reasons, but that's something they're working on. So anything that's a morph set for the 4th generation figures is not currently in Connect. Once they finish and release the updated DIM you'll be able to filter by whether it's available in Connect or not, so it'll be easier to tell what's not available.
The Smart Content pane should show all your products, however, even though some of them can't be installed with Connect. Is it not showing them at all, or showing them grayed out?
