Complaint: It's my birthday and no 'B' character appeared in my downloads. But I did get a B'Day coupon from one of the other sites

Questions about VP Brownstone Street Scene 1 (for Poser)Hello all,
I am looking to build a neighborhood around a central building structure and im considering the Brownstone Street Scene set:
https://www.daz3d.com/brownstone-street-scene-1-for-poser, but I have a few questions about it:
1.) Can the ground be turned off?
2.) Are there material settings for EACH door?
3.) Does the right most building "wrap around" the block like the left-most building does?
4.) Can someone please share the polycount for the entire set?
Thanks in advance!
-MJStonemason Urban Future 5 dark as heck...I did a render with the "out of the box" default sun/sky only settings (using the default tone map settings) without any adjustments, and yes, it looks fairly dark.
The default latitude and longitude used for the basic Sun/Sky mode are for Draper Utah. The default time used is 6:00 PM March 10th which would be shortly before sunset and the onset of twilight (not adjusted for DST). With this setting, the sun would almost be directly inline with the main central street behind the camera in the test scene below if the set is not rotated after loading.
Is this what you are seeing? Again excuse the graininess, I stopped it a 52% this time as I am rendering on the CPU and it takes a bloody long time.
Victoria 8So far, I haven't seen that Victoria 8 offers anything that I need not already provided by Victoria 7, and far too little of what I do need. Really, eyelash movement? Only if I stick the camera in the girl's face. Backwards compatibility? That isn't the truth when V4 clothes are not supported, and it takes a convoluted series of odd steps to get G3F clothes to fit. Thanks to Sickleyield for that tutorial. And V8 has an even more primitive game-developer-friendly and still-artist-unfriendly mesh. I suppose we'll have to subdivide by 4 now to get her to look as round as a human.
I won't say no. But I can't say yes until HD, muscularity morphs, vascularity morphs, and especially Shape Shift 4 is out, assuming that poor Zev0 feels like making one more script package for yet another blatant marketing ploy. If all those come out, then I can test V8 to see if upgrading my central characters once again (for the fourth time) is worth it. Which means I'll be withholding final judgment until December.
Yes, I know. No one is forcing me to buy V8. I can still keep using V7, or V6 for that matter. But we all know that V7 items will now slow to a crawl, and be gone from the DAZ store within a month. I'll have to buy older items (perhaps there's a reason I haven't picked them up already) or shop at one of the other stores just to get cool new gear for my obsolete Vickis.
Except for the fact that we will almost certainly be offered a G8 clone for G3 ;). I'll even buy that even tho I've gotten Vicky 8. I still love and will use the G3s

Do you have the G8 essentials. They are free to download. Snapping hotpoint to specific vertex?HI Mitovo :)
If you just want to move two objects together so that they are in contact,. you can switch on (collision detection) and move one object until it touches the other and stops.
Each model's Hot point, is the central rotation and movement axis point,. rather than a physical part of the model.
There are many ways to arrange objects in carrara,. such as replicators,. or distribution maps,. or groups,. or Poses, which save the position of an object,.
You can select an object,. (hold shift) and select another object,. then go to EDIT / Align ,. then select the options for how you want to align those two objects.
use Collision detection,to move two objects together until they're touching. ..then remember to turn collision detection off again,. it can slow things down.

Released: Easy Teeth for Genesis 8 Female(s) and MR - Teeth Morphs and Mats [commercial]PRODUCT PAGE
The teeth of humans never look exactly the same. Unique characters have different teeth.
Give your Genesis 8 Female based characters some more individuality with adjusting the shape and look of their teeth.
This morph pack contains 139 morphs to adjust the shape and position of the teeth. You can adjust each tooth individually. Make them wider/smaller, longer/shorter, adjust the depth or make the tooth or several/all teeth completely gone to get a gap. Great for elderly women, younger kids with tooth gaps or any other situation where a missing tooth or teeth is needed. You can also move and rotate the upper incisors, lateral incisors and canines.
Included are also morphs for all teeth, like one to get childish milk teeth. Children's teeth do not look like adult ones, so this is very handy for younger characters. Morphs to make the teeth irregular are included beside morphs to make the lower and upper canines sharp (nice for vampires or other fantasy creatures) as well.
Rounded up is this product by the included 10 material presets for Iray. Unclean and yellowed teeth, different teeth tones like slightly stained or bleached white teeth, bloody teeth and one preset with gold teeth. There are also 7 shape presets included that utilize the morphs. You can of course save all your teeth adjustments as your own shape presets as well to be able to quickly apply your favorite settings later.
Overall a very versatile product to make your characters more unique.
This product is also a Merchant Resource you can use to create morphs for your character products. Please refer to the ReadMe how this resource may be used.

Skin builder for Genesis 2 Female (Eyebrows)Something messed it up in the new version of Studio. The entire height range is off. Unfortunately Draagonstorm was the only person who had the source code so there is no way I can update or correct the product:( Only alternative is to manually see where the brows would be central, and apply that height setting to all the maps in an image editor.
Which version does that? I'm running SB3 V1.2 and DS 4.9.3.166 and it still seems to work fine for me.
SkinBuilder 3 is not affected, only SkinBuilder 2.
Oh, duh... Totally missed that it said 2, not 3 in the heading, which totally threw me since there never was a SkinBuilder 2. Or did you sneak an extra product in on me when I wasn't looking?

And Genesis 8 is reality today, just the date was wrong :DI forgot i was on twitter and following daz. LOL. Yeah just had a look.
Is the Twitter one still up? The facebook one has gone...this is getting curiouser and curiouser.....
As of 8:38pm Central time (GMT -7 at the moment, I think) the Twitter announcement is still there.

"Presets"I can't seem to get Sirius Labs or PhilW's Central Business District to land in the Carrara folders. Both items have an "abnormal" assignment in that it's not, say, Geomotries + Textures, etc, it's Presets + Objects. So that's where the DAZ installer stows them (it's also where I'd manually put them), but I can't find them anywhere in any folders inside Carrara. Any ideas?
Single plaited hair tress - K4Does anyone know where there might be a single plaited hair tress - the kind that hangss down the centre of the back - suitable for K4 F?
Something like the FKK Twin Tails hair but, of course, a single central tress?
Many thanks in advanceLlola Lane's Song/Music/Story/Poem Inspired Render Thread... Join me if you wish!!!Great Music Morana, don't know what you may invisioned but I think the render is great, it realy captures the mood.
I was trying to go for something that was more the central figure's struggle with the walls holding him in, but I didn't have a wall figure I liked. And then I decided to use this Stonemason set, and then it kept morphing into what it is. :)
Greybro's Ground - A Render A DaySo...today's going to be a bit of a cluster post. The other day I created AN AWARD WINNING RENDER!!!! To be fair, everyone who entered was declared a winner! Anywho, I made this one.
Remaking Mutantville Central sounds like a fun challenge.

I really like this one, water looks great!
Thanks. The floor does look like water but it's supposed to be a floor.

Daz Imposibly slow/laggy in viewport even in blank scene.HI, Jim! Thanks for your reply.
Looking at the resource monitor was a great idea. I had never known about it before. With Daz open and nothing else, the CPU is at 3-7% usage at 109% Maximum frequency, and used physical memory is at 58%. Not sure if that is good or bad. But I will definitely learn more about what the readouts mean.
As for the lag issue, it happens from the very start of the program. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a completely empty scene or if there is one prop or many loaded, I paid close attention, and realized that if the cursor moves into any part of the central viewport, it takes exactly 5 seconds each time before a new command will be accepted. Strangely enough, this means hovering the mouse over something and waiting for the icon or highlighted area to change to indicate something is happening . So I can click the perspective cube, or click (with the intention to drag) on a body part of a figure, and and as long as I wait the 5 seconds for it to recognize the cursor, hold down the mouse button for 5 seconds and don't release it,then perform the action, it actually rotates or moves smoothly.. So now it's pretty much the exasperation of having to do this Every Time I want to do anything in the viewport when it would normally just take a split second.
And as I was typing this, yes, I considered that it may be a mouse hardware issue, hahaha. I wish it was that easy, but it wasn't that.
Thanks again,
