Transferring Morphs from Genesis to G2M/G2F and from G2M/G2F to Genesis (Now with Clones!)
Update to the prevoius post - I found an answer within this thread and fixed an error in DSF files, so now I can succesfully transfer all G2F morphs to G2 Male. But I have another question - is there a way to transfer morphs from Genesis 3 Figures back to G2F or G2M? Especially I want to transfer face and head morphs - at first I tried to make my own G3M clone for Genesis 2 Male, but as it was told several times above, G2M clone within G3M figure is imperfect in the face area and after I used Kattey's technique with Transfer Utility, the resulting conformed face of G2M obj came out distorted and too bad for transferring any morphs, and the area of wrists and hands too. Is there any products with the most precise G3M clone for Genesis 2 Males, which is suitable for transferring character head and body morphs (not for autofitting clothes)?
V4/M4's morph targets not loading into Poser10?Just had to rebuild my computer after the harddrive crashed, and am having NO LUCK getting V4 and M4's morph tagets to load correctly into Poser10. I've set P10 to use normal libraries, as I'm the only one using it in my world. The newest downloads I've gotten from you only have content/runtime folders instead of the old content uploader programs you used to have, and when I load the folders into my Runtime folders, the morph targets don't work, and the only onboard morphs available are the male morphs. I tried loading S4, and all of her morphs came in at the bottom of the figure, and do not work. I presume SheFreak4 is going to do the same thing.
As far as I can tell, I've done what your readme said to do - load Vicki into the root Runtime folder, instead of the Downloads/Runtime folder - and I'm pulling my hair out trying to get it to work.
I'm SURE this has been covered repeatedly, so I apologize. Everything I thought I was supposed to do isn't working.Trouble With the New Iray Converter and Skin Manager for Genesis 3Hello All,
I recently purchased the new product Iray Converter and Skin Manager for Genesis 3. It's a great product, especially for novices like myself who need help understanding and navigating the skin settings. The one problem I am having is with the skin transfer to geografted items. I am trying to get the skin to copy to the genetalia but after following the instructions nothing happens. I am just wondering if this is a known problem or if I am doing something wrong. Thank you for taking the time to read this and any help you may be able to provide.
Select Genitals (for this example) Although it doesn't seem to matter what is selected in the few tries I've tested it on.
Start the anatomy transfer
The left panel will show G3 (as an example) if more, then select the item to copy from
Select the destination item (genitals in your case) in the top centre section.
In the lower centre panel select the surfaces to be copied to
Then click the button, add selected surfaces to the list
The right panel displays the surfaces to be copied to; if correct...
Confirm button to copy.
Question for vendors: what Daz figure's products sell better these days?<Spoiler alert> Look for a bunch of new Genesis 3 stuff from the GoFigure team very soon.
Hi while in general that is good news,
one must understand that frankly a bunch of new canned
(likely sexy walk) anibloks from gofigure
will do very little to increase my interest in the genesis 3 Figures
as I use multiple solutions for customized character motion creation
and RETARGET them to genesis 1& 2 .I have no plans to upgrade from Iclone 5.5 pro at this point
and G3 is not compatible with the built in "Daz genesis " retrgeting
template in IClone 3DXchange pro.
In some cases it is easier to create motion with
a basic, simple poser character and use Mcj's free motion retargeting script
to transfer the motion to a genesis figure in DS.For example I use natural motions Endorphin for my Dynamic ragdoll
animations and get very realistic results that export 100 percent poser compatible BVH files
that work with Mike& vicky 1,2,3,4 and Genesis 1,2.But not with G3,

Add to that that I am a sci fi/comic book guy
who has zero interest in Northern European runway models
in my renders but indeed use alot of the Aliens/Creature morphs for G1-2,
and I have to conlude that G3 is literally a labor intensive,& $costly$$ step backwards for my usage overall.Genesis 3 GoZ with HDHey Manuel,
just read this thread and mybe i can help you. Just started with daz and zbrush (nice trial!!) a week ago and it took me some nights to figure out the workflow but now it works for me and maybe it is what you are looking for :-)
1.load genesis 3 to daz, if necessary pose into best position for morph (e.g. lift arms to morph underneath and so on)
2. reduce "Mesh resolution to base" and "subdivison level off"
3. "send to zbrush" via goz (if your figure is in high res + subdivision it will automatically reduce those if you do not check the resolution box.. .. as you already noticed)
4. pull the figure into the window, hit the" edit button", move and scale it
5. in tool pane go to "morph target" und press "StoreMT" (now the base mesh polygons are saved as they are - in the ONLY possible resolution to get them back to daz correctly)
6. go to Geometry and switch to "Higher Res" (as you notice Dynamic Subdiv will activate automatically) - the resolution is way better now and general morphs should work fine
7. if necessary hit the "Divide button" for more details (the Mesh Resolution shoud rise and the slider with position SDiv 2 activates)
8. if necessary hit the divide button again (i did not check limits on that, SDiv 3 worked well for me in regards of detail and no problems back in daz, maybe, only maybe it works with higher numbers also)
9. morph and get desired shape (this is where i am hanging at the moment - not so easy to deal all these brushes and settings in zbrush)
10. now the trick :-) after finishing your morph - move the "SDiv Slider to the left (value 1)"
11. go to "Morph Target" and hit "CreateDiff Mesh" and push the "switch" button (your figure should switch back to lower resolution and the morph gos on and off as you keep hitting the button :-)
12. finally hit the" GoZ button", name your morph in daz, put in desired path, (nothing else changed), and "Accept"
13. test your morph in "base Mesh Settings" and then switch to "high res" and "SubDivision Level 2" - everything should be great now :-)
Hope this helped and works for you and others, best regards, Christoph
DAZ Studio 4.9 installContent can be installed anywhere except UAC protected folders Program Files, Program Files (x86) and ProgramData. The content library can be named anything you want, although very long names can be a problem. You can have more than one library so as to keep content from different sites separate, the exception being DAZ generation 4 figures as they need all morph files installed to the same library as the figures (which is why I recommend giving them their own library).
Rigging woes for Geographed limbsAh.... so can I save the autofollow morph, do the ERC freeze and then everything will work properly? Or will it end up applying the morph twice?
Will saving the morph let the bones adjust rigging to shape? The bones that Genesis has work fine with morphs but the bones I added to the geograph just stay put where they were initially. When I adjust rigging to shape the genesis limb bones explode.
Rigging woes for Geographed limbsDoes the GeoGraft have the morph? AutoFollow-generated morphs are not saved between sessions, so there's nothing to link the ERC to I suspect.
Save Dialled-in CharacterThe main issues with exporting as OBJ and loading as a new morph are that you lose any correction morphs linked to the morphs used (such as expression fixes) and that you have to redo any rigging adjustments.
Save Dialled-in CharacterThe export/import morph does exactly what I want ... thank you all. I kept getting geometry mismatch until I remembered that I need to export with no subdivision (base).
Rigging woes for Geographed limbsWhen you make a geographed figure how do you keep it's rigging intact when you apply morphs to the figure it is attached to? When I change the Genesis figure the rigging on my geographed limb doesn't follow the new shape on the geographed limb the bones fly all over the place. I can manually place the bones and then do an ERC Freeze on the morph that Genesis applies to the limb and it works fine. I save the limb but the next time I load genesis and the geographed figure the rigging still doesn't adjust to the new morphs.
"Another" :) Converting Victoria 4 Footwear to Genesis 2 "Maybe G3F" Small UpdateBeen trying your method, but no real success, mostly with open toe heels for V3. Always during the o Edit-Rigging-Transfer Rigging(Figure Space) step it goes bad and then it does not fit. any ideas?
Question for vendors: what Daz figure's products sell better these days?RawArt; I think that 'newest' doesn't automatically mean 'best'. E.g. in the food sector, 'new' means to me something like a health warning… ;-)
But of course there is advancement. Genesis 3 bends and poses flawlessly; better than Genesis 2. As a customer, I don't understand why people still use a somewhat outdated figure like V4. In most cases I can easily see if a figure is V4 or Genesis. Even if heavy clothing covers the armpits, and a long skirt hides the knees… On the other hand, everything comes with a price. The V4 face morphs are still a tad better than those of the three Genesis generations. If I did mostly portraits I think I would use V4 more often.
A lot of us have spent a fortune on accessories for V4 and Genesis, and not all of us are into the "As realistic as possible at any price" school. As long as V4 and Genesis do what we want them to do, they're good enough. (I just dumped my Win ME computer because the 400mhz processor died. Until then, it did what I needed it to do, so why upgrade? And I was able to sell the memory chips for more than they cost me!) That's the philosophy a lot of us have, no need to move up if the products that we've already spent so much on will do the job. The characters in my webcomic are V4, Gen, and Gen2. There are no Gen3 equivalents.
Besides, accessories for V4 especially are so cheap now!
You are definitely right - it all depends on the purpose. That's why I said I would use V4 if I did more portraits. There are many face morph features I am missing in all Genesis versions; e.g. the possibility to change the face size, the length of the face, or small things like the lip crease. Newer V4 skins are also great, and as long as I don't need the body/poses, the figure is ok. But let's face the facts: V4/M4 bodies and poses by far don't meet the standard of all three Genesis generations, and the workflow is much, much better in Genesis, esp. G3. I like and use all Genesis versions - each generation for its special purpose. G1 or G2 have great characters and base figures, and if you need monsters and fairytale creatures, they are indispensable. Too bad that G3 concentrates on the human/realistic aspect.

Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.1.30! (HOTFIX - Release Candidate 3 - UPDATED)Seems to be some morphs being applied that shouldn't be. Mostly the Genesis 3 Female Body Morph Resource Kit being automatically set to some preset values that keep messing things up. Other morphs are occasionally affected as well. If I have a character selected and I double click a character icon to add another character, the new character will have those morphs set to some preset and will also distort the figure making it really tall. This same effect also happens on some character injection files. Not sure what is going on anymore. This is happening in a new scene and existing scenes alike.
Everything is messed up since an update that went out yesterday or the day before. Just tons of random issues.
Can Someone Help with (Make) a Genesis Morph?Hmm I really need something that will work nicely for close ups. I rather have an actual morph, but thank you Linton.
So long as you texture the primitive the same as the NaVi skin, itll blend in no problems, even in close ups.
I use primitives a lot, and done right they can merge into people and items really well. You may also be able to set it against the skin, create it to be a collision item, and Smoothing Modifier over the top of it, which would create the rounded edges over the skin and make it appear like a morph.

Can Someone Help with (Make) a Genesis Morph? So I have this character here:
http://drowelfmorwen.deviantart.com/art/Nawkxey-Na-vi-Warrior-Iray-3-538914940
Many times I have tried to work on his nose to make it seem as if the bone in it is truly puncturing his skin--having it come out a little as it would with a real piercing, similar to what we see with horns. I have tried to use displacement maps, bump maps, and even trying to D-Form it, but none of it works. Can someone make an actual morph if I supply a model Na'vi head in obj format (if needed... I don't know if modeling off a human nose would work, but I don't see why not).
Any help in this regard would be really appreciated >_>
Need to copy or move Genesis pose controlsUpdate: I seem to be solving my own problems tonight. Save as>Support Asset>Morph Asset seemed to do the trick.
I do have one more question, though: what happens if I clone a morph that is already present in the target node? I'm just being cautious here, because I don't want to have to do a bunch of cleanup after I clone a zillion morphs from the head node to the Genesis node. I couldn't test this because I couldn't find any morphs already present in both nodes. Which means I probably won't have any problems with duplicates, but like I said, I'm being cautious.
?microphone yoo use with Mimic Pro?Yes the line in plug using Morph Vox and Audacity (you can pick Screaming Bee as the mic input in Audacity)
