  • soul calibur video game characters

Are you after characters similar to them, or you want an exact clone of them?

With their clothing, unless someone made an exact copy of their suit for sale (more than likely a freebie to give away to avoid copyright infringement), you're going to have to kitbash something together that looks close, or re-texture an existing item. It is possibel to create your own take on them using the G2, and G3 females no problems, but what are you wanting, someone to make them for you, render them for you, or provide the morph settings?

There isn't right now. This issue is unique to the growing up morphs, so a custom morph will need to be made, if possible.

  • Using a Published Artist's Model in a short film or game?

A video or film is fine.  With a game you are OK as long as you use sprites.  If you actually want to use the model in the game you would need a Game dev license.

  • Saving face morph settings

I'm having odd behavior with it, too...looking at the log it says 'Loaded Morph Deltas in 0 min 0.0 seconds', but looking at the duf file there are actual delta values in it.

  • A big problem with Victoria 7

Victoria 7 is a morph of the genesis 3 female base - and it looks like you don't have that installed. G3F starter essentials is free and in your product library; download and install it and things should look a lot better.

  • Saving face morph settings

    Heya,

I have a Genesis 2 male head and I dialed the face morphs so he looks a bit like Agent 47 (from the game Hitman), eyebrows and all.

Some other thread said to try File>Save as>Shaping Preset. Well that doesnt work.

Can someone give the steps for saving and loading the morph settings (face only).

  • Converting Poser Dynamic clothing

    Hi Argus :)

    Thanks. :)

remember that most of the "purchased" models are supplied in obj. format,. so have a look in your runtime / geometry folder before you start exporting a bunch of obj's,. you may not need to., unless you need it posed to match other footage.

I think in DS,. there's an option to "Convert" a figure to a prop, and vice versa,. so you may not even need to export obj.

I'm just happy that I can finally make "my own stuff" in Carrara,. and then make it dynamic,.,using a plugin which I had bought a long time ago, and which has, until now,.. been almost uiseless for anything, only allowing the use of premade garments, most of which were either difficult to work with, or useless in a dynamic animation.

This DynCreator script opens that plugin up to anything I want to make.

I'm not saying that this is a great solution,. since it's external to "Carrara" ... I'd like to see an integrated solution created by Daz3D for Carrara. (holds breath)

I'm also not saying that the simulation, or the options and settings in the "clothing control" plugin for DS are super great .or that getting a nice dynamic drape is super easy,.. I spent several hours of simulating different models to get the hooded dress to work the way i wanted it to,. and in the end , it's a compromise of whats useable, out of what you have..

but,... it's something. ....and that's usually better than nothing.

    Hi Roy,. :)

I had thought (briefly) about rendering a pass to mask the pokethrough in post,. but as these were test's I just left it, (I'm lazy)

    Phil :)

I've downloaded the VWD free demo for Poser,. I don't see any way to buy the full version ?,. which is apparently "needed" to "test" the beta plugin's export to Carrara.

Also,. is this actually working inside carrrara,. or do I still need Poser to run the plugin (python) and transfer,. I have poser pro 2014.

I'm not seeing anything else about VWD, web-site, other products,. etc, but if it's just getting off the ground,. perhaps that's just not set up yet.

either way it's interesting to have some options for a dynamic clothing simulator for carrara.

  • How Poser content works on Daz Studio?

Thanks for responding. I have one more question:

When I made a morph for a Genesis figure in Zbrush, and then I save that scene as a duf file. Where the new morph is saved? On my data folder or on the scene duf file?

You aren't saving the morph as either an update or a specific morph asset type?

  • Non standard ear shape distorts hair

Thank you very much.  That worked perfectly!  I've been playing with Daz for seven years now, and am still learning something new almost every day.

It all has to do with what the auto-follow settings are when the item is made...sometimes having them set one way messes up other things than just the ears.

The ultimate fix is to make a fit morph for each hair/ear combo...which is nearly impossible to do from a PA's side of things, because to do that you need every ear morph around...

Richard has several posts on how to do more...I'll see if I can dig up any (I should have one or two bookmarked...)

  • Refitting an object to another body part?

Or, depending on the item and how much change was made, you can use Morph Loader and load the fitted item as a morph to the original.  Going from arm to ankle...it's better to re-rig.  Going from V4 to G3F wrist...propbably get away with a fit morph.

I agree—if it can feasibly be done with a morph, do it with a morph.

  • Non standard ear shape distorts hair

In the scene tab select the hair, then go to the Parameters tab.  Click on Currently Used (it is one of the top three lines...All, Favorites, Currently Used).  Find the ear or head morph and dial it back to zero.

  • Refitting an object to another body part?

Use the Transfer utility to fit it to the figure and restore textures and any subdivision that are in the original. Depending on where and how the item fits you may well need to do corrective morphs (e.g. JCMs) and/or weighting adjustments as it is likely only to work with limited poses and shapes as it is. It will probably be fine as it is for a leg accessory though.

  • my dform morph slider isn't gradually increasing

I made a base morph from just dformers, and followed the wiki instructions for creating a slider and saving as a morph asset. however when i use the slider, the features don't gradually change as i use the slider, they stay at base genesis features until i reach about .96 and then they change the shape. from what i can see it looks like it is just moving the deformers from a lower part of the scene to the area where the dformers are suposed to be, as opposed to the dformers being in their designated spots constantly and the slider just gradually changing the shape. how can i fix this?

  • Refitting an object to another body part?

A rough outline of the workflow might be as follows. At least it's how I've done it in the past:

Export your target figure (e.g. G2M) zeroed (i.e. shape, pose—the lot). Either with the default 1 level of subd, or base and add a subd modifier in Blender). This is your "dressmaker's dummy" so it doesn't need materials or textures. You only have to do this once per figure.

Export your wardrobe item, or whatever portion of it you want to end up with (i.e. you can hide any parts you won't need so they don't export). For this you will need material definitions so that you can easily add back the textures with copy and paste when you re-import it, but not the texture images themselves. It can be fitted to the figure or not, depending on what seems best (obviously the figure must be hidden, as Studio will export any figure or prop that is visible in the scene). Check if the item has subd on and turn it to base. Again you can add back a subd modifier in Blender for working purposes, but don't apply it or have the exporter apply it (you can put it back in Studio).

Import these into Blender. Go into edit mode with your wardrobe item and move it around, refit it, tweak it around the figure to whatever extent you wish. As this is not a morph you can delete faces (but if you add them you will have to re-UV map).

Re-export the wardrobe item and re-import into Studio. It should "fit" around your zeroed target figure exactly as it did in Blender.

Of course there is a lot of detail missing from this list, but hopefully it gives an idea of what's involved.

  • Keep Track of your DSON files in Poser 11!!

    Hi Gang,

I was having problems with some recently installed Genesis 2 presets and morphs not working, and as I was finishing up typing the problem up below, I realized that folks have had similar issues with V4 and M4 when there were multiple installations. I hunted around my Library and found multiple DSON auto_adapted folders. While PP 2014 apparently doesn't mind, (the Library Search is set to Deep on both) it caused problems in Poser 11 Pro. Getting rid of the surplus ones by moving them to an unmapped folder solved the problem (I saved them in case I have a saved scene that might need something)  The correct one is of course in the Writable Runtime  in Scripts>DSON  Support> Importer Preferences.  If you have multiple versons of Poser, consolidate them to one location.

    Below describes the symptoms...
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Due to a recent sale, I picked up some Genesis 2 morphs and characters and, while they work fine in PP2014 and in Studio, I'm, having problems in P11 Pro;

When loading certain preset characters, such as Ysabeau 6 or Monique 6, Joanie HD, the figure loads at the default shape, and the morph dial corresponding to the preset does not work. However, if I bring in, say, V6, it loads fine, and I can dial V6 to zero and dial in the Joanne or Ysabeau morph without a problem.

Also, I picked up Zev0's Growing Up morphs for the Genesis 2 Male and Female, and they work fine on the Male, but only the 'Youth' dial works on on the Female, and I think it's scaling rather then a morph.

  • Growing Up Skin Merchant Resource for Genesis 3 Female and Male [Commercial]

I have the JoeyDucky hair as well, and I have not had any issue fitting it to any figure. This hair, like most of the rest of my gen 4 (and gen 3) hair props, I have converted into conforming hair, and then fit to each of the genesis figures. That way that fit very well no matter what shape I morph the figure into. Below I show the hair on G3M, naturally using the Growing up skin (and morphs) to keep the pic on topic.

  • Zone Smoother for Genesis 3 Female Male(s) and Female(s) [Commercial] **PRE-RELEASE UPDATE :)

I usually use parameter tab option>edit mode,,,and keep it,, when play with morphs,,smiley

then  select  generated morphs of SimTenero category,,with shif key (multi selection)   which I want to remove only,,> r-click >delete selected proeperty,,from current scene,,,^^

(thanks clearly categorize it,, then I need not serch around in my morph loader temp morph,, or other morphs,,)

though I hope to confirm by vendor,,, the way should not cause any problem,, abolut once saved scene with generated morph by this tool,,delete them  by parameter tab OK?

my another  proposal is when I selected area it hope to  turn more clear color,, to easy see it,, or it depend on user layout setting^^;?  I do not know,,

(and hope to add,,  de-select all,, or multi select with shift in UI,,and remove zone,, ^^)

then,, I seems find a little problem,,, as default,, these generated  smooth morphs not set as Auto follow,, (If it problem only happen for my pc,, I am sorry,,

so when i use it with fitted clothing,, I need to manually set auto-follow about generated morphs,, (I feel,, default is,, accept as auto-follow,,is good)

then re-fit  cloth again (with often need to purge memory) to auto-follow the generated morph for swimming wair,,or under wear etc,,,,

(though I now actually have another  auto-follow problem )not about this product) ,, then I can not confirm,, it is same for other user,, or not ^^; )

  • Couple of Head Morphs

    SixDs said:

These are actually for G3F and G3M, Saphirewild, and no, you do not need any special morph packages for them as they are custom morphs created in ZBrush. Once placed correctly in your content library they'll show up automatically in your parameters tab as sliders when you load G3F or G3M.

Oh, and thank you for sharing them, CJ!

Thanks cjmarsh. Will be using these heads soon.
