V3 Base Magnet Fits
Does anybody have any insight on this product, and if it is still valid to use in DAZ Studio 4.8? Somehow I didn't notice it until yesterday, but presumably it has been around for a bit.
V3 Base Magnet Fits ( https://www.daz3d.com/v3-base-magnet-fits )
looks like there's also an expanded version of it that includes it, plus some other things, and has some additional dependences. V3 Morph Magnet Fits Complete ( https://www.daz3d.com/v3-morph-magnet-fits-complete )
TalkingI was trying to lip sync but the mouth isn't moving, the head moves around but the mouth stays shut. I am trying to get the figure Genisis 2 to talk.
Note that animated morphs like this are dependent on using the exact names of the morph parameter dials — and the parameter names (and their positions) are not guaranteed to stay the same from one figure generation to the next.
E.g. it's obvious to us humans that the morphs "Mouth Open" and "Mouth Speak" do the same or very similar things, but only the one with the correct name used in the animation will be recognised.
[Issue] Importing rigged mesh in to Daz3D problemsSome of the more experienced modellers may weigh in on this eventually, but generally rigging is one of those things that does not consistently transfer well between applications due to the different ways that the different applications handle rigging. Unfortunately, there is no true universal format for 3D models. It may be necessary to do the rigging in DAZ Studio. You may get more specific advice if you could explain what program you are using to create and rig your character.
That's the general way of things...
The closest is Collada, but there are too many differences between the various versions/implementations of it that it's not really. There are even more variations with FBX (and that is basically just one company doing all of it).
Hi mjc1016,
Appologies, I replied just before seeing your post.
Ok, it sounds then like Collada is the best bet.
Is there a specific way to save out my Collada files in order for them to be suitable for Daz Studio?
Thanks,
James
Trial and error...
In all honesty, short of a 'native' rig or a cr2 (Poser rig) it's been hit and miss on importing with more miss. And the settings that may bring in one thing with minimal adjustments needed may not work for something else. Also the less you try to do/simpler the rig the better the chances.
How to import a morph? It is a genesis 2 figure. Only the skin and shape is adjusted. The gloves are for genesis 1 with autofit. I tried to save it as a scene subset and add that to a new scene. When doing so the morph is visible. At least I got now a way to have it visible.
store suggestion - daz studio/poser tags on preview thumbnails? It does state M4 in the description. Whoever setup the transfer forgot to check the box, I reckon.
But some new filters and visual signs would help a lot. I'm constantly checking items for Poser compatibility. Of course, I'm actually checking for both since I use both and like to have mostly the same stuff in both runtimes.
Okay I see it way down at the bottom....wow in such small writing too..lol
I agree. back in the day when daz and poser pretty much shared the same files life was much easier working with both programs.

Indie Game Developer License QuesitonOK good. So I don't have to rebuy it after Gen3 was released or MORPH 3D was created (gen2)?
I bought Indie gamedev license in 2014 (To this point all was hobby related)
Question about "The Armoury by Merlin"wuh TU?
oh, duh, transfer utility. my mind went to unity for some reason.
AQ Barbarian for Genesis 3 Male(s) - ears on hoodThere do seem to be a lot of assumeptions floating around in this thread - about how many people are or aren't going to be persuaded to buy by this or that "minor" tweak to a product. The basic ideas, that some people find quirky features a reason not to buy and that a PA can't hope to cover every possible twist of taste in a reasonable tiem frame - have been made.
With luck perhaps someone reading this thread who owns the product can make a morph to remove the ears as a freebie.
That wasn't even the point of starting this discussion. The point was to remind the PAs to step back, take a look at their products, and think about usability and versatility.
Which is very subjective and varies from person to person, so Richard already touched on that. If the PA was going for a certain look, what you're asking for won't even come into play, especially if that change is going to spend extra time going through QA due to trying to find a place to put all those polys and still end up with something that looks good and will pass testing.
Question about "The Armoury by Merlin"I have used the transfer utility on one of the armours but yes just props
the weapons are useable

I still think the original hood is a nice design. But, for a casual purchase, taking the time to edit their removal is something I'm not going to undertake. I'll just move on to another item.

Bend Control for Genesis 3 Females and Males (Commercial)What sort of morph?
Just something to make the button appearing to be in or out, more believable, and more shape options.
G3F Load Error [Solved]Depends on how much you've tweaked the figure. If you haven't messed around with morph groups, display modes, etc., then you have no reason to worry.Bend Control for Genesis 3 Females and Males (Commercial)What sort of morph?
Bend Control for Genesis 3 Females and Males (Commercial)Seriously, stop spending my money for me Zev0

I hope you don't think that I was including you in any complaint, Zev. I know from past dealings and your direct help that you are an honest and honourable vendor so there was no cynicism intended. I will always trust and buy your products - often they make the difference between having puppets or people in my renders. But that is really my point - I've been buying since Victoria 3 and you would think they would notice something like glute or thigh bends that don't look natural, especially when each previous generation has had similar bending issues.
Anyhow, while you are at it, can't you fix the G3F nipples too? The default ones look like low-poly cones.
I morph for the stomach button too would be awesome. :)

From Marvelous Designer to DAZ anno 2016 – I pay for helpIf you are exporting to DAZ from MD as an .obj then, you do not have to do anything. I'm sure what the Source: g2 Current has to do with what you are doing. Are you going into zbrush or hexagon or something?
Daz collada does not work with MD collada. The only thing you can do is import and export as an object or fbx and fbx is kinda goofy.
All I ever do is select the posed figure, and then select import wavefront obj from the menu in DAZ, select the clothes .obj from my files and make sure the DAZ measurement is at 100 percent. The clothes will jump right on the figure. Make sure that when you import your figure into MD that you choose the DAZ measurements on that side as well.
I'm on a MAC as well, so if I can be of help, let me know. I hope this is the correct address for my DAZ Gallery. All clothes have been made in MD. Some have been combined with premade DAZ clothes but I heavily morph them and change textures. Denise http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/users/24852
