Some Riversoft's scripts stopped working, but... (Solved)
It didn't work installing it outside One Drive. Oddly enough I deleted all references in the cloud folder and My DAZ 3D Library, and re-installed it again within DAZ (no DIM) and the Daz Central install was somehow repaired. I tag the post solved. Thank you!
The [Disco Chives] Misplaced Parrot Complaint ThreadComplaint: My gas central heating boiler has died. Non-complaint: It was at least 32 years old. A replacement boiler will use less gas, and we already have the lowest gas bill of all my colleagues even though the house is the second biggest. Also, if the new one lasts 10 years (dubious), it may pay for itself from the savings in gas from the old boiler. And in 10 years when the new boiler dies, heat pumps will be both more effective and less necessary.Installing my Daz Assets on New Computer [SOLVED]PerttiA said:

Thank you for this, but what is the problem with logging in? I've always been logged in on my first PC. Although since I copy/pasted my directory onto this second computer intead of installing using Daz Central I don't have smart content for any of it, so I guess there is no reason to be logged in on the second computer anyway.
You don't need to be logged in to use 'smart' content, the metadata is there, you just need to refresh the database.
The only reason to log in to Daz Studio, is when one has made a consious decision to use Daz Connect (inside Daz Studio) as their primary method of installing content.
The installation location DAZ Connect uses is non-traditional, which does not work with scripts and older content, and whatever gets installed by DAZ Connect, overrides the installations made by the other installation methods (DIM/DAZ Central/Manual installation), even when the DAZ Connect installations fail to work due to for example decryption failures. If content is installed by DIM, DAZ Central or manually and again with DAZ Connect inside DAZ Studio, the content is installed twice, taking twice the space on ones drive. Some scripts, and some older content (mainly ExP morph expansions).

And, it looks like you are logging in to Daz Studio... (not a good idea)
Go to DS Preferences -> Startup and uncheck "Show Login Page" and "Automatically Login With Remembered Credentials"

The files won't have disappeared, but if the content directory settings are wrong you won't see them. If you deleted the Appdata fiolder for daz you may have removed the settings for DIM/Daz Central (and the database used by everything except the ... Formats containers in the Content Library) but left the settings insside DS alone. Whata re your instalaltion paths, and what are your Daz Studio contnt diectories (Edit>Preferencs>Content tab>Content Directory Manager)?
I did a fresh install of DAZ Studio, so nothing should be missing. And the files were located in documents, but with the new install they are in the C drive. So thats solved(thank god- and thank you PerttiA for your screen shot...thats how I found them....
So, currently- I had bought Dicktator, and got that succesfully loaded and working. Then got futalicious, tried to upload-thats when everything fell apart. Missing files in both now...going to delete, and sign out of Daz. Hoping thats the issue.
But thank you guys for the help...Stinks spending hours trying to figure it out :( So totally appreciate the help!!!!!!!
If some content works and other content doesn't the it is the content or the instalaltion. You never did answer my question about what folders you could see in the content Library>Daz Studio Formats as you drilled down to the preset for loading.
this is the best screen shot of files from my original Daz download -you are referring to the files in daz studio I hope...

DazCentral is stuck on "Loading..."Do note that Daz Central is being phased out, with its unque features (mostly) being added to Install Manager.

DazCentral is stuck on "Loading..."Moved to Techncial help as it is not a Daz Studio application topic.
Is thiss till happenign if you clse and restart Daz Central?
Daz ran an update and now the interface is funky, how do I fix?Uh weird, it deleted my desktop shortcut so I typed Daz into windows and used that Daz to launch which shows as the white you see in the pic. When I open Daz through Daz Central its loads correctly but its verion 4.14 and not 4.20..
The [Disco Chives] Misplaced Parrot Complaint Thread@ carrie58, WendyLuvsCatz, DanaTA, NylonGirl and anyone else whom I may be missing, thanks for the concern... I'm fine... yeah there was a lot of water falling, but thanks to the porosity of the sandy soil any flooding was temporary and drained away quickly... here... a lot of people I know who live on the north side of the island had flooded basements and streets... a friend of mine who lives in Port Washington lives at the bottom of a steep hill and right in front of his house he has a very picturesque little brook spanned by an equally picturesque little concrete bridge... yesterday that picturesque little brook was a raging white water rapids and his street a river...
Apparently me having the foresight to not have a million dollar home with a picturesque stream payed off, because my basement is dry.
I spent much of the day in the storm driving around on the North shore which was lots of fun... lots of flooding and river-like streets to enjoy, but it wasn't as bad as the hurricanes and nor'easters because there wasn't really any strong winds...Besides being on the lookout for an escaped sea lion with a long criminal history... whom I definitely am not involved with in any way... I'm mostly fine... not counting going out of my freakin' mind lately... but that's an entirely different thing.

@AllenArt: Did this also happen to you close to daz midnight?
I'm eastern time, so it was about 2:20am here, so....yes, about 20 min. past midnight Daz time (IIRC, they're Central time).

When I worked in infectious disease, I would have killed for accurate African, Asian, and indigenous American models and clothes. All of these areas are bigger and more diverse than Europe but while the European contingent can get characters that are Irish or Greek, or Swedish, there doesn't seem to be any characters that represent the difference between West Africans, and East Africans (West Africans are genetically closer to Europeans than East Africans) or Northern Asians versus South East Asian people. Likewise, accurate details are always appreciated; I love the Rowhouse's version of an African headdress because it contains real details of real African clothing for all of its fantasy. I find that I appreciate when people get the details right of real anthropological elements in the same way people in the forum complain about fantasy women's armor or the placement of military detail. You will never go wrong doing proper research and providing quality.
Separately, I would love some accurate Renaissance clothing especially the Dutch Golden Age.
I couldn't agree more. When it comes to their own ethnicities, Daz is careful to be accurate; the others are more or less thrown into the same pot. Africa = dark skin, curly hair, full lips - one fits all. I think you can tell West Africans very well from East Africans, and the latter from South Africans; they just look completely different. I can even tell with some accuracy if someone is from 'our' area - that is, from my husband's homeland in West Africa - but of course you don't need to go that far. I don't want to deny that Daz nevertheless offers very good Black characters.
Well researched Native American (North, Central and South) themes and characters, and also the Dutch Golden Age would be highly welcome!
Clouds distortion problemThe sky in that particular promo (Fantasy Skies from Super Pak 1) doesn't have any clouds up high, so you can't see the distortion. I can get pretty much the same image with a camera near the end of the central walkway, a default frame width of 36 and a focal length of 25 or so (depending on actual position). With other skies, YMMV.

We have been able to confirm this and have reported it, but we won't always have the affected product to do that so please do open tickets for your issues.
Ok, thank you!
The product should appear in Connect/DIM/Daz Central: it is on the Product Library page too, but not in the usual place - you need to scroll right down.
I don't organize my contentElor said:
... I don't know how DIM will react if I move some folders but I do spend time organizing freebies I'm using to have them organized as I want.DIM (and Daz Central) ercord the exact location of the files they place, including the drive identifier, in the instlaaltion manifest file (the .dsx file in the manifests folder). Moving files or folders will render DIM unable to uninstall the files, for a full uninstall or an update. This is also an issue when moving content libraries - Daz Studio and the CMS can cope as they use only relative paths, but the installers need to reinstall (or have the manifest edited, if you like to go off-piste and are willing to provide your own support).
I don't organize my contentI don't organize content either. It doesn't occur to me until I read threads like this one that anyone does. I install it with Daz Central and use Smart Content. I have a spreadsheet I maintain for all of my products and when I test new items - I test every new item - if there's anything unusual or unexpected about finding it, I note that.
I don't expect Daz itself to be granular enough to do what I really intend to do with organizing content. I do data work IRL and already created various external data solutions which allow the sort of finding of products that really works for me, and if I would just quit buying new stuff, I would get stuff properly organized that way.
In the meantime, I find that simply using Smart Content works well enough 99% of the time.Long absence - positive changesDaz Central would not touch DIM path settings if they were present when it was installed (nor vice versa), and did not have a different way to access the database. In general they could coexist without issue, though I think there were some problems with the very first releases of Central (at least with unclear prompts).
