no 'brawn' sale for the REAL Hairy?
Do you have the Genesis version? How does it compare?
I confess I've had such luck with autofitting Genesis Real Hairy that I've never felt highly motivated to get the G2 one.
I have both. The hairs are slightly different so where one won't quite be the look I want, the other one will. I've been able to fit both of them with great sucess on any figure even G3. I might have to fiddle with the Genesis version a little more on G3, though. It depends on the body morph being used. I like having both products.
My shoes made with Maya will work with Daz?If they are modelled to fit a Daz figure you can use the Transfer Utility to rig them - but shoes, espeically high heels, often need quite a bit of clean-up. You might be able to bring the Maya rigged version, if it fits a Daz figure there, in via FBX or Collada but that's not always successful (though there does appear to have been some relatively recent work on it, according to the change log).
Recommendations for extremely photoreal long hair?I did purchase LAMH when it was on sale, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm more arty than techie, so now I'm teaching myself hair painting, which is time consuming, but easier for me right now then learning LAMH. I'm new to DS and just learning that. I think conforming the hair, does make it worse. I keep getting these strange jagged edges. I will try parenting next time. Short hair looks so much better than the longer hairs, but of course I prefer the longer hair.
WIth LAMH 1.x presets, DO NOT parent them to anything -- it can cause crashes. The presets will follow the figure. adjust to poses and morph changes by default.

Hypergenetic bioarmorYou are confusing Generation 3 and Generation 4. Generation 4 only had 3 base meshes. V4, M4 and K4. All others like Aiko 4 were simply morph sets of one of the 3. Generation 3 bases are more or less unique. Conformers made for David 3 required a conversion app like XDresser or WW if you wanted to use them on M3. M4 had different rigging, verts and joint centers. The product is also older and the file formats are in the old Poser runtime format.
Unlike V4, M4 did not come with a legacy figure (V4 to V3). If it did, you could just use that. You can buy the D3 for Genesis that will allow you to use D3 items on Genesis. If you ask, I'm certain someone can tell you what you need to do in DS to get things working. I'm not to familiar with it so I don't want to steer you wrong.
Does a big morph library slow DAZ studio down?Head into your data folder, what you are looking for is any morph DSF file starting with "alias", all they create in an empty dial on a bone that has no mesh "attached" to it, instead they use ERC to link it back to the actual morph dial in the Body, which is where the mesh is.
All it does is give DS extra crap to deal with, just so the user base don't have to change how they do things, rather than forcing them to adapt to the differences between Poser and DS native content.
You may not have any use for aliases, but that doesn't make them in general "useless dummy files" since others may well find them a useful way of working.

Helmet with helmet from 3rd party sourceIf you are going to post a screenshot with an unclothed figure please make sure you switch to Smooth Shaded (or another untextured) view.
What you probably need to do is line the helment up with the figure, then hide the figure and export the helmet as OBJ, reimport (using the same preset in the options dialogue) and only then run the Transfer Utility - the transfer utility ignores all local adjustments and works only on the base shape of the item.
virtual penny 4 yor carrara thoughts ?OK need bit of work still may need to use the sheaf as a prop, hid it for now but SickleYields merge heirachies suggestion in Transfer Utility after converting to triax worked well, cape even has all the g3m facial bones!!!
Help with Genesis 2 Male EyesIf you increase the Eyes Cornea Bulge: max out to 1, the result will be even more natural. Also, sometimes the defaultr camera light plays havoc on the scene. It sometimes helps if you drop a spotlight into the scene and switch it to "off" during render.
Thank you! Turns out this is in a G2M morph product in the Daz store. Fortunately I found a similar item free on ShareCG.
I do have the headlamp turned off for my camera and in render settings, so that should not cause an issue.Ah, sorry about that. The Head and body morphs sold in here in the shop are used in many characters also sold here and elsewhere, so they were one of the "essential buys" for me.
Does a big morph library slow DAZ studio down?It happens that my G3F library is rather big already. Purchased all G3F figure pro packs, lots of morphs like Zev0s and various other figures.
As many of those products add stuff to the data-G3F-morphs folder I wonder whether this starts to slow things down. I have noticed that it seems to take more and more time to load a new G3F into a scene or to open a saved scene. Is that a known issue? Does the amount of installed products make DAZ studio slower?
And if so, are there any methods to improve things, like multiple run times which are not loaded if not needed? I install everything in one runtime via DIM though and have only one additional runtime for manual installs from other shops.
Thanks!
virtual penny 4 yor carrara thoughts ?So beautiful http://www.daz3d.com/wildenlander-watch-hd-for-genesis-3-male-s

so incompatible with Carrara

I just cry
I shall buy it
I shall fight to fit it on G2M and render it in my one true software loves I shall not be defeated
maybe even rig a polygonal obj exported HD version using the Transfer Utility in DS on the converted original though it ahall grind Carrara to its knees.
(or at least try running it through Xnormal if it helps)
Gianni 6 shall wear it Misty and He shall look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Dynamic cloth + related Carrara plugins - Best Practices, Tips and RendersFinally, the weekend is here and I can experiment with VWD. Still just trying to learn the VWD program and tools. However, there is yet another amazing benefit from having VWD that makes Genesis and Genesis 2 content even more compatible with Carrara. Because VWD can return a morph of the cloth object/figure for every frame, it allows Carrara to use vertex modeling in the Assemble room along with editing in the posed position with Genesis and Genesis 2. Very psyched! That was a great feature of Carrara for V4/M4 and earler that I thought had been lost for Genesis. Should say that what is going on is that VWD creates a new cloth object with mrphs for each frame. It is the ability to edit these morphs in the Assemble room that I am referring to.
So, here is a G2F with a Bobbie25/Sarsa dress that I bought in the Daz store. Started from the default shape/pose of G2F and the cloth, advanced the sequencer to about 1.5 seconds and applied some shaping morphs to the G2F then advanced to 3 seconds and applied a pose to G2F. I'm still too ignorant of the VWD tools to do much more than use the defaults but I wanted to share "vertex ediing in animation mode for G2F clothing" feature.
SimTenero Randomizer Characters Showcase Thread Everyone WelcomeWow these are amazing!!! I'm especially impressed with how much everyone is able to wrangle out of a handful of morph packs. Makes me think I need to tone it down, I tend to select a zillion morphs to randomize, but sometimes less is more :-D
Ice Dragon Art, thank you so much for starting this thread! It's a real pleasure to see what everyone is working on. Hopefully I'll have some time to render up some of my own random creations, but I'm neck deep in a couple of projects at the moment (one of which is also morph related
).Most welcome I was happy to do it. One of my all time favorite products ever.

).Aging Morphs for Genesis 3 Female(s) and Male(s) (Commercial)Not interested in working with G3, it's a matter of mixing dials and so on. It will probably be worth picking up Aging Morphs 3 for some of the unusual SD morphs that I can transfer to G2, though, when it's on a good sale.

Transfer Dawn character morph to G2F?Yep, like daywalker said, you would need a Dawn clone for the DAZ figures that you were interested in, and, since the meshes are very different, it is highly likely that the character would either be significantly altered at best, or completely distorted at worst. IMO your best bet, if you are determined enough, would be to create a similar character using the DAZ figure of choice through morph dials, an external modelling program or a combination of both.
Why Are Anime Figures Impossible in DAZ?Have you seen Anime Doll for Genesis 2 Female on Renderosity. It's a rather nice morph (actually GeoGraft).
Yeah I've used it, and mentioned it above. It's a decent figure, but it doesn't play nice with a number of morphs (specifically the Growing Up morphs) so any attempts to change the base body outside of the usual morph sliders causes the neck to freak out and elongate. If I could find a way to get around this issue Anime Doll would work great.

When feet don't touch the floorThat solves the problem for one exact situation. I need to find how to correct the very morph.
