Faces...
So I'm doing illustration work where the clients want my Gen 2's and 3's to mimic RL peeps...
Any products to help with the face morphing??
Once you get that giant morph package check this out:
"Conforming" Long Skirts IssueI've Been working on making clothes for Genesis 3, but the issue I'm running into is the long skirts are acting more like pants, and the mesh is getting pulled around, is there some option I missed in the Transfer Utility pannel? Plus I can't seem to select my clothing by clicking on it, I have to go into the scene tab and select from there, is this normal?
I'm using Daz 4.9 and Gen 3
GENESIS 3 Iray Smart Converter And Advanced Managers (Commercial)Great!
You're welcome, just let me know if it does not work with the Geotransfer, I must recognised that I put so many filters in the objects which will be displayed in the list on which you can transfer (I have two full lines of conditions) that I'm not sure these geograft elements will appear. Well I can try to create and send a patch to you if it does not (I think simply have some conditions to delete).
It makes me really happy to read your feedback, I tried to make these skin tools as good and useful as possible, and when people use them often, it's a wonderfull reward for all the effort I put in them!
@V3Digitimes
After a doing a qick test,
Iray Smart Converter for Genesis 3 Geograft Transfer Utility does see and work for transfering the skin settings.
But looks like the Generation 4 and Genesis don't have the trasfer utility.
*Also during the test made me realise how much you improved with your scripting from the first version of skin converter.
You got really good with the Genesis 3 converter interface, if it had the ability to chose what generation skin and figure in one converter :)
Now I see you have a new light product, that looks like it will become another must have....Faces...It depends on what you mean by real life people. If you mean ordinary, everyday type folks, then yes, a package like the one you mentioned will provide lots of options to play with. On the other hand, if, as Richard assumed, you are attempting to base your characters on actual, living people , that is a whole different ball game. I've tried my hand at it using only morph dials like those in the morph packages and, even with good photo references it can be tough getting a reasonable likeness. Getting it exactly right is nearly impossible that way, and those that succeed or come very close tend to at least fine tune their efforts in a modelling program or do it all there.
Celebrity Look-a-Likes for 3D figures Part 2I decided that the only way I was going to get a decent David Bowie morph was to make one myself. Everything I've done below is on the Genesis base, with DieTrying's 182 Morphs for V4 [ported over by SickleYield], as well as my own strategic use of D-Forms. Well, okay, I dialed the Emaciated body morph up to 0.4, but that comes with Genesis base, so I'm not worried about its availability.
Sometime soon there will be a freely redistributable morph of Red Planet Arachnid [cough]!
I'm going to leave this alone for a few days, then come back to perfect, so any suggestions for improvement are welcome. Caveat: I'm going to get as close as I can with redistributable morphs and my own sculpting, but this will by no means be a professional or 100% accurate likeness.
Also, if anyone's looking for the Goblin King, [strike]you can't have him -- he's mine![/strike] it would be pretty easy to use this morph as a base and then age it, sag it, and fatten it up slightly. Crooked teeth and makeup are all up to you, though... :p
--MWBeautiful work - looks very close to David Bowie. Did you ever finish this? If so, care to share your settings? I'd love to do some Labyrinth fan art in honor of the late great David Bowie.
Ronan G3M On Sale Now... (commercial)The latest Gypsy Boy...Just finishing him up...
I'm looking forward to seeing Ronan in my Content Library, (along with Makani, Ragnar and Apollo.) You sure know how to do tall, dark, and handsome!
By the way, what hair is he wearing in the image you shared? I love it on him.
Yeah, that's kind of my thing...tall dark and hunky men. :D
That's Ades Hair at rendo, by Studio Art Vartanian. With my textures on it. It has a fit morph for G3Male, which is a huge help. :)
Thanks! Perfect timing, too. It's on sale through the 13th... (It was already in my wishlist over there.) Now to see where (if) I can find the moolah... :D
Cookie and ChipIs it not possible to make conforming clothing in DS for Cookie & Chip? The transfer utility doesn't recognise the figure and I don't know enough about Studio's arcane functions to go beyond that point.
Twin tweens for Genesis 3Any progress?
Nadiya's base morph is done; I need to work on her skin textures and separate the head and body into separate morphs, so they can be dialed in independently if desired. Niren is still a work in progress as are their base outfits.
Rune 7 - looks same-old-same-old disappointingMy guess is that when people render nudes, most would not bother to activate any breast sag controls anyway, and would stick with the invisible bra look, since it (to many people at least) looks more attractive that way.
it looks silly, not attractive; gravity defying boobs make me shake my head and think about when I was adolescent, and pre adolescent I suppose too.
To each their own. I was a DJ in a mens club for years and have seen my fair share and I prefer implants over the real thing in most cases and this reflects in my images when I create a female character. Sad thing is, with the revelation above about invisible bras, I can see users thinking that is the reason most of my characters look that way instead of knowing it's my preference.
Implants are one of the insidious cosmetic inventions of all time. They serve zero purpose. None. No woman should have to feel like she needs to have surgery to place balloons under her skin to be more accepted in society. That surgery could possibly stretch the nerves in her bust which often leads to less sensitivety and stimulation, which is truly horrible. So she gains big balloons, but loses the beautiful sensation of another person carressing them. If a woman really wants to I will not stop her, its her body after all, but I would be saddened that she feels that way.
Back to Rune and the Daz facination with implants, how about including TWO body morphs? One morph has natural breasts for artist nudes and loose clothing, a second morph is a "bra morph" that shapes them as you would expect for bras. This satisfies both camps and is the simplest solution rather than trying to make an invisible bra mesh around them or something else.
Rune 7 - looks same-old-same-old disappointingI actually like her shape, with the exception of the very obvious chest implants (which can be adjusted), but still. Those are almost toony in their gravity-defying shape, and the eyebrows. The eyebrows on the base are actually really an issue for me. She is way too plucked, and it just looks really strange for me. A thicker eyebrow option would've appealed to me far more.
One thing that would be awesome if the character is designed for the 'invisible bra' look, to also have a natural look... Yes there are morph packs, but since nature didn't include an invisible bra, it would be nice if each character had an included natural breast shape.

How about Underwater Hair?http://www.daz3d.com/laguna-naoko-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s-genesis-2-female-s-and-victoria-4
Interesting, but this is hair for mermaids. It's not clear if you can morph it to make it look like regular hair.
Rune 7 - looks same-old-same-old disappointingHere is the problem, with 1 exception, every model coming out tries to embody some kind of human ideal.
you win...congrats you did it..over and over again.
There is only so many ideal figures...we got them
Want to sell a bunch more basic figure....give us some CLASSIC - flawed figures.
the classic...skinny girl
the classic...grumpy man
the classic...plain jane
the classic...spy villian
we have enough of the classic greek god/goddess form
just a suggestion
What I dont understand is why there needs to be these premade “Figures” in the first place. OK yes I do understand that from a marketing perspective it helps vendors stay afloat. But what puzzles me is why people sit an wait for these pre-packaged,named& numbered character bundles that all look ridiculously similar to my 52 year old eyes. With the obvious exception of the Different skin maps, I have yet to see any “karen,Gia,Bethany,Arabella, Eva, Pick a bloody number blah blah blah. That could NOT be easily approximated with The commercial morph sets already available for G1,G2 ,and a little Slider manipulation. NO custom morph making in Zbrush or Sculptris just slider manipulation. And on the subject of non idealized“regular people” there are plenty of morphs for genesis 1&2 at least, to create poor postured Scrawny, out of shape even morbidly obese people as well as homely Dorky and outright ugly people Just like the variety of looks one might encounter on any major public transit system in any major city.????I create my own shapes, I dial in small amounts of head shapes sometimes, but body shapes (is never I think) well close to never at least; the one thing I'm most interested in is the texture; that is the the main item for sale, and is covered all too often.
I've started shopping elsewhere a few months ago, and that has continued; I still buy from Daz, they have some great stuff, just less often.
That's it, nicstt, the textures. From my perspective, the base characters are merely morphs to accompany an Elite Skin Texture, and the bundles are a means to mass market Daz Original products as well as rope in some PAs to provide content.
Urban Sprawl 3 ...It's here(in the store...no really..go see)!...(Commercial)Well, I might have done the same if I like her, but I wasn't impressed much. I am hoping that I like Ivan 7, though.Nor was I impressed, but I get the base characters for their photorealistic skin (excepting Leo 7) regardless of the morph's appeal. It is my hope for Ivan 7 that spurred me on to Rune 7 now. I also caved today and bought ThePhilosopher's brilliant Epic Props: Godrays & Volumetric Light for Iray along with his Marble Shaders. If Urban Sprawl comes in at $60 with the discount, I should be in good stead. Otherwise, my Invisible Means of support shall have to provide.
Two object , one skeleton please help me!solve it thank you very much !

becouse was avery not genesis for daz avery is a morph of genesis i didn't know it !
Two object , one skeleton please help me!Was the clothing created around the base figure or was there a morph applied? If there is a morph on the model, for Source Shape select Morph and then pick the morph used or - for multiple morphs - just set the Source Shape to Current then click the Show Options button (if you don't have the extended options showing) and check Reverse Source Shape from Target.
i create the cloth with marvelousedesign around the base figure mesh
Mirror RingsNot sure what you are trying to achieve, do you just want to select inside and outside faces at the same time. I did that in the example above, first select a face on the inside, hold down shift and select a face on the outside. Press "L" to loop (you may have to press "L" twice to loop in the right direction) then choose the between option. Pressing Shift + and - (number pad) will increase/decrease the selection.
Alternatively, when selecting the faces chosse 2 faces (2 inside and 2 outside) running in the correct direction and you will only have to press the L key once.
Another video, here I would be making a morph, sending it to Daz Studio and naming it, then repeating the process.
How to manually upgrade a manual installation of Studio 4.9?Thanks Richard.
The current version was the first on a fresh Windows install, and the first time I'd used Studio in a long time.
When the new version uninstalls the current version, will it record and transfer preferences and content locations, etc, to the new version?
(Sorry for newbie questions that go completely under your head.)
Yes...which is often why uninstall/reinstall won't fix a configuration problem.

Mirror RingsThank you for your answer. I is really helpful. But I forgot to mention that I want to morph the pipe in other ways, too. I made two pictures of a problem I have. The first picture shows the change in the outside of the pipe. The second shows the problem I have. I changed the outside of the pipe but the inside of the pipe is still the same. But I want that the inside surface moves in the same directions as the outside. How could I select the same surface at the outside and at the inside of the pipe. Remeber the outside surface was made by thickness so the outside and the inside are at the same places.
