Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Separate Products
Is it possible to get just individual versions of the Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Genesis Pack? I haven't bothered with any of the other characters so far and I'm not interested in buying an incomplete set where two of them are vendored on a different site and another two are completely excluded from production. I was planning on getting all the other ones (G2F, G2M, V4, M4, V5, M5, V6, M6, basically all the ones that we've seen/expect to see defaultly supported on the Genesis figures) in one swoop after they came-out. However, M5 is part of the pack and I'm not too keen of getting other G1 characters like S5, D5, and A5 if there's no H5 or F5.
Looking at the price compared to the previous prices of the other UV prices, you're getting basically 4 for the price of one with the latest product. Also the V4 product on the different site is probably to keep his store open at rendo as a backup for products not accepted here. Nothing wrong with that. If you want it, I wouldn't ask him to close his store just so you can get items in one place.
Also with H5 and F5, I can understand that as well as both only had one texture with no gens and related products fell back on either M5 or M4. I would just map transfer tool those. D5 had at least 3 textures. A lot of textures for G2F and G2M ended up being M5 or V5 to leverage them to genesis 1 as well.
Meh, I suppose. Still, its annoying as hell that not everything is in one place for purchase. I DO know you guys are able to market products on more than one site at a time! ;P
Any chance for Treadz for Genesis 2 & 3? (NOW IN THE STORE!)Are they here yet?
Are they here yet??
ARE THEY HERE YET????
If you don't behave I am going to pull this car over! LOL
The G2 set is done just started on G3. While you waiting have a look at the Iray materials.
Cheers!
LOL .... HHHMMMMMM ... I may have heard that a time or two as a kid while travelling. Have you thought of a boot that is taller with the same heel morphs as the Treadz? Something that goes up to just below the knee? Bad Kitten made these for V4 a ways back but still a favorite of mine. I know its a little late for the Treadz but maybe a future set of boots or maybe a taller morph? I love the Treadz for heroine boots and it seems more reasonable to give them a taller heel when they aren't trying to balance on a point the size of a pencil.
There is a KneeHigh morph that goes up to almost to the knee. You could run it past 100% and use the adjustment morphs for an even higher look.

Oh My Goodness! This looks fantastic! I wasn't aware the boots could be lower than the calf! I may never need to buy another pair of shoes ever again. *drool*
Yep, this was a big change I did with the Genesis version. You can also do a type of shoes, guess I will need to do a better job of marketing.

WHAA!? Oy - these are the most amazing boots I've ever seen here! One would literally never have to buy another pair of boots ..like ever. lol With this one boot it looks like (between mixing and matching the heel styles as well as the boot style/height) there are a crazy amount of possibilities to create wildly different boots. Mix in a few different shader options that take advantage of the MANY mat zones and it sounds like there are an insane amount of variations possible with this boot. I hope you're able to market it so that people can see how massively diverse these boots are! People are literally getting like a TON of different boots in one.

OK I don't remember that being on the V4 version, if it already has it then please disregard, you are a step ahead of me there. I only have one more question for you. Do I just mail my credit card to you or will you take direct paypal deposits?
Superheroes Rebooted - Ready to Rrrrrender? It's been a while since I did a superhero render but seeing all the new hero stuff inspired me. Unfortunately, this isn't using any of it, just some old M4 content fit to G3 male.
For Bizarro I wanted that faceted face look of the classic silver age Bizarro so I set resolution to base, decimated to 50%, turned off smoothing in the materials, and added a little custom morph to rough up the brows. Below is a closeup showing how that worked, sort of okay but actually still too much resolution to get that classic look. Maybe I'll see if I can do better another time.
Genesis 3 SuperheroesWhy would a belt create love handles on a superhero? Can you turn off the pooch if you use the belt morph? Or better, is there an actual external belt you can use to avoid the indentation? Does the Genesis supersuit belt work with this, so you can have a smooth body and don't have that pooch?
There are 2 morphs dialed there actually a belt morph and shirt tuck morph. Both can be turned off. I think nemesis thought you were referring to the belt since your drawing circled both, but, yes, you can have the mesh perfectly smooth at the waist, or smooth except for the belt morph as well.
The suits have a few morphs to resemble "more normal" clothing, and I think that's one of them. For the belt, use the Superhero Skirt (if you have it) and hide the skirt itself and the trim. Take the beltloops off too, or leave 'em.
Show Us Your Iray Renders. Part VWhat figure, I like the face morph, can only imagine how good he'd look with detailed textures.
virtual penny 4 yor carrara thoughts ?I need to make more tutorials. Like one for that process I was taliking about using the Hexagon <bridge> Daz Studio method to tweak Poser 7-Style figures and their conforming content.
sounds good!! every little bit helpsfix morphs for posed figures sounds like dream come true. fixing eyelashes when eyes closed, breathing from subtle to heavy panting. swallowing a swig of ale. bobbing adam apple, dunno the medical term for it ... Laryngeal prominence
Absolutely! Thanks for mentioning your thoughts on that! That's exactly the sort of things I've done! It's fun... It's (kinda) easy... It makes animating so much fun!
Ouch... In the little sequence at 1:40 of this old, early test video we can see my early attempts at fixing eyelashes for closed eyes as Rosie blinks with her head down.
It was a morph that I could turn on or off. That one is harder to do - at least for me. In that video and my Just for Fun, as well as some other little tid bits at the beginnings of some tutorials and such, there are many tests on morphs that I've made to aid in my animations adventures... most of them OLD tests!
Something about the shape of the eyelash mesh... trying to twist, pull, and otherwise distort to get them down when the eyes close was difficult for me back them... I'll have to try again.
Here's the thing. There was a little glitch in V4 figures, where after a certain point, Aiko, Girl, Whatever extra morphs INJected onto the figure would stick at whatever we had them set at, and would lose their adjustabilty in Carrara on Carrara-saved characters. Loading all morphs onto V4 using PowerLoader in DS fixed the issue, but only on new V4 figures brought into Carrara fresh. So I saved my shape morphs in a NLA Pose, loaded in a fresh version of V4, INJected all the morphs I need for her, and then applied the NLA Pose (NLA tab, Load Data from Clip) - applied her shaders... done. But in doing that, all of my custom morphs are nopw gone... which is actually a blessing, since so many of my tests became disagreeable to me! LOL
The cool part is that, now I have a fresh V4 character to demonstrate morph creation with! :) There's always a bright side!
FBMExpandAll?FBMExpandAll is an Autofit thing. It's automatically added to any clothing that you fit to another generation, for example, fitting Genesis 2 clothing to Genesis 3.
That, and, I think, two breast bridging morphs are automatically added now. Started happening with 4.9, I think.
Thanks for the info. I just tried it out, and it does get created after using AutoFit (cross generation).
Is there some way to create FBMExpandAll for a item that's not fitted for another generation?
Is it also possible to export this morph to file as FBMExpandAll.dsf ?
virtual penny 4 yor carrara thoughts ?i did try renaming car and cbr files to ,rar - win7zip was able to uncompress

learning how to read the morph tree will need some timevirtual penny 4 yor carrara thoughts ?- For Poser-style rigged figures, such as Vicky 1-4, Michael 1-4, Aiko 1-4, Star stand alone, etc., Carrara has a lot of great options and functions. First, as mentioned above, you can load the figure in Carrara, edit the mesh directly, and save the result for future use without ever adding morphs. Carrara has the magnet tool and the displacement painting brush for loaded figures. Second, you can load the figure and create and save new dial morphs. A morph zone must aready exist to add a new morph dial. Here, I loaded Aiko 3 and note that under the morph tab of the vertex modeler (model level) there are already morph zones by body part. Third, you can actually make the morphs in another program (such as hexagon) and load them in the appropriate morph channel. The weightzones figure can be edited in the posed position, which is a great help. Similarly, a new morph can be added in the posed position as long as a morph zone already exists.
Exactly. That all leads to what I was showing Here, is that we may add our own morph zone which covers the entire mesh - whichever "Poser-Stye" figure or conforming figure for any of those figures! ;)I needed to have these 'new morph zones' for a very good reason. Rosie's hair, for example, has morphs for wind blowing, flowing forward if she leans forward, flowing back if she lays on her back, blowing out in all directions, etc.,
She has a shirt (I haven't shown her in it for a long time) that has various morphs I made for wind, dynamic walking, and other things,
Her Kimono has a lot of morphs to make it look a little dynamic in animations
=====================================================
Adding these morphs was a real pain in the tush before I learned the above technique for adding new morph zones. Victoria 4 was odd in that she allows us to add morphs to the whole figure. Everything else, including everything that's made to conform to her, we'd need to select one of the preset morph zones - "Figure", being the whole mesh, is only available to add morphs to on V4.
So by adding a custom morph zone which contains the entire mesh, this actually adds a whole new selectable morph zone to use, which allows selection of any part of the mesh!
You see, if we only model the morph one body part at a time, it's a real pain to get the abdomen part of the morph to work with the chest part of the morph - and even worse, we'd have to set those morphs on both the abdomen and the chest! I used to go through that! I sucks!
With a new 'whole figure' morph zone, we can make a single morph called "Bend Forward" and we can deform the neck, chest, abdomen, and any other part of the figure we need - without worrying about which zone it crosses - because we're morphing the whole thing!
Even better, one single morph dial controls the whole thing! Bam!
Sorry Misty... aside from, perhaps, opening the model file in Notepad and rearranging the order of morphs that way, I don't know of a way to re-order them after they've been made. However, I think that if we make the morphs using the DS <> Hexagon bridge and export as CR2, it may automatically put them all in alphabetical order. Not sure though.
Tween Julie 7...not sure as I do not have the character morph. If someone has both Brita and Growing Up it would be nice to see an example or two.
So what you are asking for is Brita dialed to 100, tween dialed to 0% and age presets on that?
Here is 10 year old and young teen. They have the old inverted boob issue, not as noticible in render as in veiwport, but still there. Probably depends a lot on the smoothing in the clothes you use too.

I didn't buy Julie, but I bought P3D's Brita - applied to G3F this character makes a very interesting, strongwilled looking young lady!
..so Brita doesn't actually "need" Julie7 as mentioned?
If you want to use her at "normal size" yes, but you can apply the morph to G3F and use it without her if you want to.
So, what do you suppose wuld happen if you applied her to G3F + growing up.
Trying to wrap my head around all thisIt basically boils down to how "varied/individual" your results are supposed to be, and how much time you are willing to spend.
I'd recommend membership in the PC+ club ( http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-plus ), it gives you good discounts on DAZ Originals (and the PC+items, with lots of items at $1.99).
Aside from that, check out the fast grab: http://www.daz3d.com/fast-grab-3d-models/
Today, they have several Genesis 2 pro and starter packs. They contain clothing, poses and various characters that are compatible to each other. Maybe there's the one or other you can use "as is". You also have this very important bundle on sale: http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-male-s-morphs-bundle It allows you to shape the Genesis 2 male characters to your liking, and is good for individualizing your characters. There's also one for females, but that's currently not on sale. Special shaping morphs are also available, like: http://www.daz3d.com/people-of-earth-faces-of-asia-g2m or http://www.daz3d.com/people-of-earth-faces-of-asia
The Genesis shape morphs are perhaps your best and cheapest bet at the moment: http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-evolution-morph-bundle The Genesis beard is here: http://www.daz3d.com/unshaven-beard-for-genesis
There are also freebies: http://www.daz3d.com/free-3d-models and in the Forum: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/freebies
The older stuff (before Genesis 3) also might need conversion from 3Delight render engine to Iray.
All that said... I'd recommend you'd try the interactive lessons that come with DAZ Studio. They contain some characters, poses, hair and clothing for free. With them, and with the free base characters, you can also test out how things work. Experiment with the "Shaping" tab sliders, maybe you can get the looks you are looking for with what is "on board". There's a learning curve, and once you get into it, it can turn into an addictive, really expensive hobby.
Aug 2016 New User Contest "General Render" (WIP-THREAD)Had a devil of a time with lighting (as I do with any scene) So using a mega cheat of speedlights. Hopefully its working.
I still have a few bits to sort out. The outfits are causing a bit of grief. Infamous and Steampunk lady, both for V4 are having a bit of a grump being parented to G2.
Both skins are V4s, so is the hair. Cannot morph G2 as i haven't got the body or head morphs for her.
Have attached the version I have done some postwork on just to hide the outfit grumps.
Well I think it is a good start to this amazing render for sure but I will leave it up to the pro's to let you know about the lighting and that stuff.
EDITED TO LET YOU KNOW: There are tons of free morphs on shareCG and else where there is a couple down in the freebie section of the forum you just have to dig around and you will find them.
Thank you. Haven't been well enough to play around with it today. Will have another go tomorrow. I will also look on shareCG for those morphs.
Liking your render with the speedlights too. You can adjust the DOF in the camera settings. I haven't played around with that much yet.

G3 Face posingIt may be the controls I was thinking of come with the morph pack, not the base figure. If you look in the Parameters pane they would be in the Pose Controls>Head group, split into further groups by location.
Yes, I found the bones in the Scene pane as you suggested after I checked the show hidden nodes. I'm really having fun with them now :)
Trying to wrap my head around all thisThe base figures a free, but you have to buy some morph packs to be able to customize your figure and some extra skin if the basic one isn't enough. Some clothing would be nice as well but there are a lot of free stuff out there. I'd suggest zbrush for full customization but it costs a lot of money and I'd be lost if I tried to use it so I can't recommend it for novices.
