SimTenero Randomizer Characters Showcase Thread Everyone Welcome
@Tjohn Saw this in the Iray thread. Great morph!
Sonja, I definitely want to try that when I load up TD3. I got it installed last night, but haven't had a chance to try loading it into DS yet. Today, though!
Thank you!

Thank you! Grue was intentional.
My Lease Is Nearly Up On The Complaint ThreadCoffee snobbery... That's a good word. I have a fairly good sense of smell (although I usually smell pretty terrible), and a pretty good sense of taste (I imagine the same disclaimer applies) and I'm very good at tasting complicated sauces and dishes and breaking them down into a good copy... But a while ago I was in a specialty coffee shop and (I should add that I went there with a friend to pick up some coffee for party we were at I was already "partaking" of the refreshment beverages at said party, so I was already in "comedian mode") the proprietor was amused by my comments and jokes , but more so was surprised that I knew a bit about coffee and that I could actually identify the sample brews without reading the labels... (I really used to like coffee, but because I'm prone to kidney stones, I had to cut back... A lot)... Anyhooz, he decided to tell me about cold brewing and how superior it is to regular brewing and how in a few years it will replace regular brewing... Mind you, he has this whole glass Frankenstein "still" going... It's, about the size of four regular espresso machines and takes a little over a day to produce a half gallon or so of coffee... I drink my coffee with 1/2&1/2 and brown sugar usually (which I didn't mention), but he goes on about how people who don't drink pure coffee don't understand its flavor or appreciate coffee's complexity... To be honest, I think the place was a little out of the way and he didn't get to talk to a lot of people and he finally found someone who understood him... Be it that, that person was actually a little intoxicated, but he gave me a cup of this complex cold brewed coffee that should have changed my life and started to tell me how I could build my own version of the coffee still... That was one of those complicated moments that reminds me why I shouldn't go outdoors, let alone talk to people when I've been drinking... It was coffee... Just coffee... I forget what the region of origin was now, but it was just that... Coffee from wherever and cold... Actually if I had to be really honest, it tasted like you were drinking coffee in the break room and reading the newspaper and reached for your coffee but picked up a cup that someone left behind several days before instead... I didn't have the heart to tell him it was pretty terrible... I don't know if all cold brew is like that, but if that one cup did do anything, it made me reluctant to try it again... Granted it's just opinion, it could have been fantastic to others, but the fact is I wish I knew why I started telling this story... Megh, is there ever a point to anything I write? You know, if for any reason any of you ever happen to come across me in public and for some reason, somehow you recognize me from some dumb photo of me that might be floating around somewhere on some forum... Don't talk to me... Save yourself the trouble, I might just start talking to you and you'll wish you had some sort of personal hyperspace transporter or self destruct button like most robots seem to... It's not worth it... I just thought I'd mention that.
a live conversation? with paragraph breaks?

starbucks has the clover machine brewer, s'pposed to release the true flavor of the bean. so far i'se just take their word
Paragraph breaks? What are those? Do we get cookies if we take them?... Actually, I used to add paragraph breaks, but since the new forum software puts a larger break instead of just letting you drop down one line, I refuse to add them... It makes everything look like a list or some corporate form letter ticking off important thoughts with that big gap...
I have no important thoughts.
Besides it makes everything more realistic to my stream of consciousness way of thinking, which is much like a Labrador retriever...
Example: (what I'm thinking right now)...
Damn, it's 2:45 already... I really should eat something... but if I eat right now I'm gonna probably not have time to... Where did that screwdriver come from... Why did someone move my box of files... I think that was the screwdriver that I was using to make sure I slotted that set screw properly... Maybe just a peanut butter granola... SQUIRRELS!!! Ow! Stupid door... Lousy squirrel nosing around in my pipe bin... I hope that sneaker comes back down... Ah, wife shouldn't of left them drying there... I just hope nothing starts nesting in there before it falls off that branch... Stupid squirrel... I should fix that shovel, or at least paint the handle, actually I should just let it fall apart and buy a fiberglass replacement handle... Actually I think it's just cheaper to... Ew, the squirrel was eating a cicada... Now there are cicada bits all over my PVC pipes... Cicadas look like giant leaf hoppers, I wonder if they are related... I wonder how many times I wondered this in fifty years, but have been too lazy too actually look it up... I wonder what cicada taste like... Insects are basically similar in structure to crustaceans and isopods, I wonder if cicadas are any good to eat... Ew... Stupid squirrel... I hope I didn't eat any squirrel saliva... That would suck if I turned into a weresquirrel... that's probably the bottom of the lycanthropy scale... I dodged the werewolf bullet when little werewolf boy turned out to just be a weird kid who bites random strangers... Unless... What if he was a wolf cub that got bitten by a werekid and turned into a werekid during daylight hours... Do werewolves bite other wolves? Because wouldn't that just cancel out the other and it would just make the regular wolf just an angry regular wolf? I was just confused when little werewolf boy bit me... It certainly didn't make me more human and I don't turn into a werewolf... Bleh, cicada particles... I shouldn't eat insects without cooking them or adding hot sauce... MAILMAN!!!!! Stupid gate! Not the mailman... Why do people always make U-turns in my driveway? That's so annoying, and that idiot drove partly on the grass... WTF... I'm gonna bite the next person who does that... Thats not a rational line of reasoning, I should just shout at them and throw something... biting is too personal... I wonder if that's the squirrel saliva talking... I suppose if I were turning into a weresquirrel, I'd probably just want to bury them for the winter or chew on electrical wires... I wonder why rodents love the PVC insulation on wires so much, it tastes pretty awful and it's not chewy... Silicone rubber is much better if you want chewy and there is no terrible taste to deal with... Stupid squirrels totally missed the chewy silicone tubing in the box... I should go find the lid... I should probably eat something... Besides cicada bits... What was that statistic about how many bugs we eat? I bet Olympic cyclists eat a lot of bugs... Especially if they get tired and they yawn a lot while they are riding. That would be an interesting device to make to test that theory, first I'd have to figure out how often an Olympic cyclist yawns, then make box with a net inside with a lid that that opens based on the average Olympic cyclist yawn rate, and mount it on my bike... But I'd have to fix the brakes first... Actually I'd have to true the wheel, because, damn, that thing is warped... I suppose I'd also have to actually bike as much as an Olympic...
(by the way is anyone still reading this?)... (I thought not)
Cyclist.. I'd also probably have to go to the park to ride, because around here I'd just be getting run over constantly and I'm really not as into that as I used to be... I wonder if there is any salami left in the fridge...
And it goes on and on like that...
To be honest... (That's more of a saying, by the way)I'm not that much better in real life... Except I do pause to breath and stuff...
What's even more annoying about that paragraph break is it's infectious... Sometimes when I make a post, I'll have to put my iPad down and attend to something else like a small fire or hamster rebellion (they hate wearing the uniforms)... So since I've had like a million things I was writing "forgotten" by draft autosaves because of temporary WiFi connectivity lapses, I copy them to "Notes" and finish them in bits and pieces when I have a moment, then post them... Or I actually read them first and delete them because I realized how stupid they are... But anyway, if you copy and paste from these forums, Notes won't let you drop a line like it normally does... And writing a clean post entirely in Notes won't transfer its breaks either.

Why should DAZ Studio User try Carrara?Yes ,. Carrara has modelling tools to allow you to create your own items.
this was a quick test when genesis 2 was released,. some time ago....you can export as OBJ,. import into DS and use the Transfer utility (in DS) to auto-add the rigging.
Or, you could use Carrara to create your own Figure/character, clothes,.texture it, rig it ,. then animate, and render it,... all within Carrara. no need for DS
Instead of looking at Carrara as something where there is a set of "Steps" to create an image,.
Look at it as a multi function tool which you can use in multiple ways,. including , load a premade figure, apply premade poses,. render. the same as DS.
this PDF zip may help get you started.

Show Us Your Iray Renders. Part V"Daemon" G2M morph made with SimTenero Randomizer. Postwork in Photoshop Elements.
TerraDome3 NOT a rumor anymore! Live in store! Whoot!!!Terradome 3 works with Simtenero Randomizer. I could run the randomizer script on Azone right off. It wouldn't run on Bzone until I unparented it from Azone, but then you can parent it right back. I also found the morph groups in the script window were checked but the morphs themselves were unchecked - had to uncheck and recheck the morph groups (or you can just click on each morph to select it). Here's the Mountain Lake preset before and after randomizing.
My word, it works with the randomizer? This is getting so bought now :D
TerraDome3 NOT a rumor anymore! Live in store! Whoot!!!Could someone Post a Render of the Archipelago Morph in http://www.daz3d.com/pro-morphs-vol1-for-terradome-3?
I don't think it is shown in the Promos
D-Former: how do I add a weight map?You can't load images - that isn't what map means in this case, it means it's a matched list of weight values and vertices (in the same way a morph may be described as a map in some applications as it's a matched list of vertices and deltas, changes in position).
Could Daz Store let us rate/review products? This leads to a possible can-o-worms that DAZ probably is wisest in not opening.
Yes, it does.
BUT its a can of worms that DESPERATELY NEEDS TO BE OPENED.
I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars here over the last 10 years. Most of the products are pretty good, some need SERIOUS improvement.
The biggest area for improvement (on the bad products) is CLEARER PROMOTIONAL IMAGES. A great many show several products that are NOT INCLUDED in a way that implies they are. (the most common being the use of a consistent HAIR on Character Morphs, but lets assume that we know that Characters don't usually come with hair... even if they REALLY SHOULD. Also one EXPECTS characters to come with TEXTURES, though quite a few are missing key parts therein. Sadly, most of the Characters sold appear to be little more that a slight tweak of the geometry and if we are lucky a base skin we don't already have. What exactly am I buying here for $20??? I already have HUNDREDS of Facial Morphs purchased, what makes yours worth getting???)
Many of the products used in promotional images AREN'T EVEN AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DAZ3D STORE! (that's a violation of PA ToS)
99% of the time they DO NOT DISCLAIM at the bottom "Products used in Promotional Images", in fact the Notes area on most products is COMPLETELY BLANK. (Most notably again on Characters, show me 1 entry in the whole store where a Character Morph product lists/acknowledges the HAIR they used IN EVERY PROMOTIONAL IMAGE for their product. Same goes for Outfits used to promote Characters, they almost never credit the outfit/link to the product)
Often the REQUIRED PRODUCTS/COMPATIBILITY section is errored/missing key information (this translates to problems with the DAZ Install Manager), such as a certain Ron's brushes product that says its compatible with Photoshop CS through CS6, and that it has separate installers for for CS6+ and CS5- . The Product only defines CS6 and CS5 - so in order to use it with older versions you HAVE to lie to the installer and tell it that you have CS5 installed (and point it to the version you do have) -- there is another like this that requires you to define a program path for Photoshop 7.0 (aka CS0), even though the description says it works with newer versions (7.0-CS5)
While I appreciate the large quantity of products made available through the RuntimeDNA merger, most of these are THE WORST OFFENDERS. The promotional images ARE STRETCHED AND SQUASHED because they were designed for a smaller preview and different Aspect Ratio. Most products have ONLY ONE PREVIEW IMAGE. (and its TINY) Many products are sold PIECEMEAL - showing an entire outfit ensamble in the (only) preview picture, but only selling the shirt... or the shoes, belt, socks, watch, ring, necklace, etc. Many do not clearly indicate what they include. Some are sold as bundles, but do not have BUNDLE INCLUDES or INCLUDED IN BUNDLE entries linking the products together and giving you credit for purchases so you don't buy the same item twice by mistake. This information DESPERATELY NEEDS TO BE UPDATED (as an existing PA you wouldn't even pass review with submissions like these, it has brought the overall quality of the store down.)
And how else are we to motivate authors to provide better descriptions of what is included, if not by giving them feedback with public accountability.
I realize how intimidating this is, and as I have been entertaining the idea of becoming a PA I appreciate what this means for sales. It means sales will go UP, because shoppers can have MORE CONFIDENCE in what they are buying. And yes, for those few products that are deliberately ambiguous and misleading, there may be a decline- but overall sales will only grow from better TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY.
And yes, ratings for products that are OLDER THAN METHUSELAH and still asking NEW PRODUCT PRICE will decline over time AS THEY SHOULD, product lifecycle should be pushing content for generations 1, 2, and 3 out or seriously discounting them -OR- the products COULD BE UPDATED to work with newer generation models.
Ratings/Feedback will improve overall quality of Products and the DAZ Store itself. It will bring problems to the attention of the Published Artists and the DAZ3D Staff rather than leave them for unsuspecting Customers to find the hard way. As far as 30 days money back- its great in theory, but surely I'm not the only one here who has purchased HUNDREDS of products (while on sale) that I have not even tried yet. (at last count my install manager said 4000+, and that's not even counting the DAZ Connect or ShareCG products. To date, I've used/loaded less than half into a scene. And I've been a customer since Victoria 3 was new... which I believe is right around the time the store opened, as I recall that Victoria 1 and 2 were free downloads I used to tinker around with in Poser 4. )
A good way to handle feedback/ratings is in much the same manner as product submissions. Allow the Artists and Staff to review them first (and the staff can block them IF and ONLY IF they are spam or harassment, but the artists can only REPORT/FLAG them as Spam/Inappropriate- not actually delete them directly.) But this may be too much work for already busy staff.
Perhaps the best way is to require users TO BE LOGGED IN to an account that has been ACTIVE FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS and has purchased something in that time. It might seem reasonable to limit review of a product to only those who have purchaased it, and yes for detailed comments that would be prudent. BUT for unfairly marketed/incomplete product descriptions this would be an easy out- for those at least users should have the same right to FLAG CONTENT AS INAPPROPRIATE/INCOMPLETE that the Published Artists should have for feedback/reviews.
In fact, perhaps that would be enough. A Star Rating system for purchasers, and a Report to Staff if the product page needs work. This, in turn, should go to the Published Artists first so they may try to implement the suggestion/correction, and thus not creating extra work for staff UNLESS the artist is unavailable or ignores repeated complaints. Once a product received a certain number of similar complaints, it could be forced into review by staff or artist.
Handling this in aggregate through ratings/feedback would REDUCE THE NUMBER OF TICKETS staff have to review about product complaints, thus saving the company money.
So, lets get that daburn can-opener out and get to FISHIN with them Worms!
Regarding the stuff from RuntimeDNA with only one preview image: if it's a figure, I suspect most of the preview images wouldn't have been allowed due to nudity rules here, and older figures are more likely to be nit worth the effort to update them.
Regarding figures in general: morphs and skins are what vendors and most customers want made available.
Morph WIP: Christopher Reeve for GenesisDo you mean the hairline is higher? If so, that's probably a consequence of the hair prop I'm using. I might be able to morph it down somewhat, but I'm not sure.

Why does this one morph crash my entire program? (Poser)So I have a character that I have saved because he has altered skin, hair, facial features, etc. But when I install new morphs they don't install to that figure becuase it's not in the same directory I guess?
Either way I took the morphs I wanted to use that I installed and transfered them to that character using a loaded Genesis 2 Male.
Everything seems fine but I noticed, for some reason, that random stuff will crash it when it's loading on him with the DSON Importer.
Like I tried to load a hair, it wouldn't work. It crashed. I tried to load a shirt/pants, it crashed. I noticed it was hanging only when it got to a certain morph that I had transfered. So I set it to zero, now everything loads but that morph.
I guess if I want to load things onto him I'm going to have to zero that morph every time....but I don't understand why?
Anyone got any ideas?
As this says, it's Poser (Pro 2014)

Dynamic Cloth SolutionsHave you looked at MudBox (from Autodesk), its free if you are a student or use the student version, unlike ZBrush. Here is the quick way to make simple folds - Export just the item (showing just the shirt or clothing) in Daz, export as an .obj. Import this into MudBox, a very easy program to learn. Note the poly count in the lower right of the screen, Don't change it, don't make it higher by smoothing, just go into the sculpt brushes and add a few simple folds. All this does is bend the mesh, something I wish Daz would allow for Studio via poly or vertex, push and pull, as in Max or Maya. I gave up on Hexagon, it crashes all the time. Sculptris (free) will also work, so long as you don't increase the poly count (in Sculptris, don't use a high-poly brush, set it to minimum). Back to MudBox, what you are essentially doing is making a morph, very easy, and yes, you can distort faces and figures this way. Unfortunately, they need to be imported (or exported from Daz, at level 0, which means that sculpting on a face or figure leaves very rough areas because of the low poly count. Even if you up this, then drop it back down, it will still go back to low poly, which is too rough to really do much sculpting with. But for clothing... it works. Then save it as a new obj and bring up DS. Click on your base clothing, same as you exported, and bring in your morph via morph loader pro. If it says its successful, then you'll find the morph in the parameters tab, which you can adjust less or more. The whole process actually takes only a few minutes, once you feel comfortable with MudBox.
Another thing about the program, MudBox can color your texture maps directly on your model, then save out the map file and reload in DS in the diffuse channel. (Iray- goes in Geometry channel) This works much better than Photoshop and if you are creating new textures, like for landscapes, etc, it won't reset the UV's, like Sculptris does. I assume ZBrush resets them, as well. This means you can go in to MudBox and simply work with what Daz Studio gives you, not have to redo the UV's. You can, however, set this up now in Photoshop. You can also make some very cool landscapes from simple grayscale, if anyone wants to know how, just ask.
ISO morphable toony eyes/face to stick on inanimate objectsYou did a good job, I enjoyed those.
Thanks. I am relearning my skills on hexagon. Next comes the mapping. and finally have to find how to inject the morphs. In my previous history the sports pack a learning lesson on many levels. I had not seen the final product and realized that it is not the original map on the baseball. Now you know why it says CW sports on the back... had to sneak my initials on that one. I have the workings for another sports pack but the computer crash and so far have not been able find the files. I am afraid this character is too old but may put it in as a last great emotiguy morphation.
Now how to inject all the morph channels is the learning process.
TerraDome3 NOT a rumor anymore! Live in store! Whoot!!!Something I threw together, G2M, Low-rez donkey and a few Predatron plants. I had to turn off the limits on the morph dials to get the canyon so deep. I7, 980Ti, 32G-3200 RAM, 12minutes for 2000 iterations.
Trouble Converting Custom G2F morph to G3F in GenXHi, I have used GenX for a while to convert figures. I converted a couple from G2F to G3F already. But I'm having some issues with one character that has a lot of custom slider based morphs used. She ends up very wonky. This is what I have been doing:
Load my G2F character, in default "T" pose
Start GenX and and pick Source G2F, Target G3F, Single Morph
If I try clicking "Get Values from Figure in Scene", I always get "Some morphs could not be found"
If I try selecting all non-zero targets, and then values fromscene, I still get this error.
Its weird because I managed to do this before with basicallt the same method. I tried saving a character preset, and then drag-dropping that from presets to GenX (like you could V4 Injections.) No dice.
I managed to get a result a couple of times, but it ended up looking all kinds of wrong.
What am I doing wrong? Daz 4.8 btw.
Star (and Stella) Jumping Vertically When PosedThe Y-Translate value is the problem. Instead of saving the hip translation as part of the character preset, it's instead being added as part of the body proportion morph. Whenever you drag the character body parts, that value gets added as the hip changes position.
The fix is to unpack and edit the scl-star 2 body proportions.dsf file:
1) Locate scl-star 2 body proportions.dsf in My Library\data\cloud\1_33355\data\daz 3d\genesis 3\female\morphs\littlefox\star2 or My Library\data\daz 3d\genesis 3\female\morphs\littlefox\star2 and unpack using 7zip or the DAZ unpack function - go to Window > Batch Convert, select Add Files, locate the file as above, select 'Uncompress Listed Compressed Assets'.
2) Using a text editor on the uncompressed file, find and delete the following block of code:
{
"output" : "hip:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%203/Female/Genesis3Female.dsf#hip?translation/y",
"operations" : [
{ "op" : "push", "url" : "Genesis3Female:#SCL-Star%202%20Body%20Proportions?value" },
{ "op" : "push", "val" : 46.74548 },
{ "op" : "mult" }
},3) Save the file and enjoy!
Keep in mind, this will load the figure at a lower position, so you'll need to manually adjust her position and re-save the figure.
