Victoria 4 and Poke Through
In newer Poser versions you have the "Copy morphs from figure" command, for older versions or Dazstudio if morph follower doesn't give you good transfers you can use Dimension3d's Morphing Clothes https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/morphing-clothes/64629/
"Transfer active morphs" seams to work ok in Daz - sometimes. :)
Victoria 4 and Poke ThroughThe problem you have is that the outfits probably have the morphs, it's just that they don't work correctly in DS. Poser has a thing called "Cross Talk" (morphs in one figure affect the clothing conformed to other figures in the same scene), and many vendors go out of their way to prevent it, some keep the labels you see in Poser and DS the same as the labels in the figures, but change the internal names which stops Cross Talk, this means you have to find the morphs in the clothing and manually dial them to the correct settings.
Then there's the ones that keep the internal names the same but mangle the ERC code, it usually still works in Poser like that, but DS hasn't a hope in hell of getting them to work.
This last one has an affect on Morph Follower (DS3) and Transfer Active Morphs (DS4), because the morph channels are using the correct internal names then neither of these functions will work, they refuse to overwrite an existing morph channel.
Yeah, that makes sense. I'm using Daz and kind of suspected that maybe those who use Poser will have an easier time getting V4 clothing to fit properly.
What features would you like to see appear in dazstudio 5?Where Poser's libary shone was in that all references but geometries and textures were relative paths rather than absolute.Erm... no, the Poser format works entirely by relative paths — every pointer to a geometry or texture file or anything else (usually a morph data file) is defined as its exact position inside a Runtime folder. It doesn't matter where this Runtime folder might be, since Poser knows where all your Runtimes are, and checks all of them for a folder path leading to the file it's looking for. D|S inherited this same system, and can use it to read both Poser-format and D|S-format content containing only relative paths.
The big problem is that it's always been possible to create content files incorrectly, so that their file references were all absolute paths. In the early days of non-DAZ content creation, many people stuffed all their working files for a project into folders that could be pretty much anywhere on their computer. If these folders weren't defined as Runtime or Content locations, then Poser or D|S wouldn't know how to find the file, so the path had to be an absolute folder location that existed only on that computer. Most content creators know better now, thankfully, but there's still a lot of otherwise very nice content out there that needs at least a bit of manual tweaking before it can be installed properly.
TRANSFER RIG FROM ONE FIGURE TO ANOTHER???Is it possible to transfer a rig from say, Victoria 4 or Michael 4 to Genesis 3? I have an awful lot (gigabytes) worth of mocap files targeted to V4 and M4 that don't work well with G3 due to the new rig. I'm hoping there is a way to do this because there is a lot I could use G3 for animation wise.
Thanks in advance!
Help needed with Dformers....I'm betting that the reason why the morphs aren't working is because morphs are based on having two meshes of near-identical geometry where one (the morph mesh) has several deformations (not altering the vertex count), and the application of the morph essentially converts the original mesh to be more and more like the altered mesh.
So, swapping out the geometry means the geometry the morph relies on (the original mesh) is no longer consistent with the existing mesh (which has a now-different vertex count).
Due to this constraint, I would probably attack this problem by leaving the two figures intact and parented one to the other and use (in)visibility of parts of the horse and parts of G3F in order to create a centaur. This way you retain the functionality of the morphs from both figures with minimal extra effort.
Pro - starter bundles, worth to buy now?Thats kind of an interesting idea. Themed bundles. Im not sure it would change my spending habits. I tend to buy a single pro bundle for the anatomical elements just in case I do a nude render but other than that I usually just stick with a starter bundle. My problem with the pro bundles is that there are too many pose packs and too many characters that I may have little to no interest in. There should be morph packs in pro bundles.
On the other hand, if there was a selection of cool themed products in a pro bundle, they would be alot more fun. Of course, if we could assemble our own pro bundle to tailor our specific needs, that would certainly interest me in shelling out more cash. As they are now, I feel that pro bundles are always a balancing act between the items I would enjoy and the ones im willing to just accept because I need a pro bundle.
Josh Darling: Help with using weight maps to separate head and body morphsHi Josh (anyone else who knows this stuff is welcome to help too),
In your video "New Morph Tools Intro" at
you show how a weight map can be used separate a head and a body morph from a G3f character. (at about 7mins 45 secs)
Unfortunately, you don't show how to make or save the weight map of the head.
I have looked for information on this both at DAZ 3d forums and the internet but can't find anything which explains it to me. (btw, the search engine for the DAZ forums really needs trashing and replacing by something that is useful).
It may be that there is a tutorial somewhere that specifically deals with exporting the Head Only and Body only morph from a G3f character (ie two full body morphs but with only head or body parts different from the base G3f figure, as appropriate), however, I cannot find one.
If you happen to be looking for a useful shortcut to add to the Morph Loader Pro Attenuate By feature, then I would recommend "Load Head (inc eyes and teeth) Only" and "Load Body Only" buttons. Or perhaps, the ability to select multiple body parts from the existing lists at the same time.
Anyway, if you (or anyone else) could give advice on the work flow to separate Head morphs from Body morphs on a G3f figure, I'd be grateful.
Thanks,
IssacNewton
Help needed with Dformers....Hi all,
I am currently trying to create a centaur figure using G3F and HW Horse and have had some success but am now coming across a very strange behaviour...........
Using Dformers, I have shaped G3F's hip region to better match the HW Horse's neck/chest.
I have done the same with the HW Horse to suit G3F's hips.
After using the Dformers, I have spawned morphs and then saved the morphs to the library via; File > Save as > Support Asset > Morph Asset(s).
Next, using the Geometry Editor, I deleted all of the polygons in G3F's legs and the same was done with the HW Horse's head/neck.
Everything was fine.
Today I started refining the hip shape of G3F in Zbrush, via the GoZ plugin (still very much learning here and majorly stuffing up but that's all part of the process).
DS has been on and off several times throughout this centaur-creating process and files have opened up fine without issue.
Now I am finding the morphed figures' (G3F & HW Horse that have been morphed via the use of Dformers and had their unnecessary polygons removed) scene files are somehow changed; the morphs no longer have any effect.
G3F still has her "Centaur Hip Morph" set to 100% but there is no evidence of it in the figure - and when I play around with the morph slider, nothing happens to the figure; as if all parts are locked (but they are not).
I can load a "fresh" G3F and apply the Centaur hip morph and it works fine.
It's the same story with the HW Horse that had been morphed with Dformers/Morphs spawned and saved to the library, etc, etc.
What am I doing wrong?
Why is all my work disappearing despite the fact that I have been saving my scene files every time.
I just checked some of my earlier attempts that I had saved in another folder and they are fine; BUT I have not gone through the process of removing the unnecessary polygons in the Geometry Editor - could this be the reason? If so; why?
Just to clarify; I wanted to remove the unnecessary polygons rather than just hiding them because even the hidden polygons showed up again when brought into Zbrush which made further tweaking to the figures impossible..........
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sunny 7Greetings,
As soon as I saw Sunny, I knew she was a Thorne character. I also got a slight 'mixed hispanic' vibe. I think she's adorable, and I really liked almost all the items in the Pro bundle, so it was an easy call for me. Adding the 'First Date' textures dropped the total cost under the Pro Bundle by itself's price, which kinda rocked. Also Thorne's stuff was on 'super-discount' (probably isn't anymore) because Thorne and Handspan Studios were both on sale, and so several of the items dual-credited (all of them?) were double-discounted. Mind you I had everything I'd want except for a few morph packs, but those were an awesome deal...
So...yeah. I'm a happy camper. :)
She's lovely, and fits right in to the renders I typically do.

p.s. The Aerial Dancer outfit promos do a really nice job of showing the options, and that's a great outfit.
Converting Geometry Shells Into FiguresNo you don't: just fit it as before, and set the collision to hit the Geometry Shell instead of the figure. This also has the advantage of shell-offset, when a particular pokethrough jsut won't cooperate at all because of the differences between the two meshes at that point, because simply increasing the offset a little (just turn the shell's visibility off) will push the clothing out from the poking-through points without odd deformations from morph-compensating. Of course, the entire shell will be offset accordingly, but it's well worth a shot.
That's what I've been doing, but for some reason, some articles still won't cooperate. to further elaborate on my example: I have a G3M that has Stylized G2M characters (Legacy Hiro 5 & Brodie 6) dialed-in via GenX2 and the article I'm trying to get it to wear perfectly is the Flipmode GSuit 2 via Autofit. Despite all of this tech modding, the principal of the Geometry Shell-fitting should still apply, but it doesn't. Here's a visual example of what I mean...
Do the |character| for |model| products work w/o Model?Great. I'm willing to try to morph, say, my own Islander with general morphing tools, but I really feel like I need some of those skins! (And of course I plan on buying the base morphs as soon as their price and my budget can find common ground!)
Do the |character| for |model| products work w/o Model? The morph will load in most cases but not look the same as the promos without the base morph it requires.
Do the |character| for |model| products work w/o Model?Yes, I've found that the skin texture you use influences your perspective about the character's looks than the geometry structure. I had at one time posts in my gallery that made the same character morph look (to my eyes) Japanese, Arabian, Irish depending on what skin texture I used on it but I've deleted those learning exercises.
Carrara to Sketchfab (FBX and OBJ issues)You cannot upload poseable figures only animations (fbx) and static objects (obj or fbx). You are NOT uploading or storing the product which you bought from DAZ. i.e.
DAZ productions.inc owns the model,.(you purchase a license to use it,.. with restrictions)
each part of the "product" is covered by the same license restrictions.
exporting it in any model format,. then uploading that to a site where it's possible for others to obtain that model would be a violation.
For example: All figures made before Genesis,. are supplied as a bunch of files including OBJ model files, with a CR2 file to load the complete Model, textures, rigging etc. into your chosen applications (Poser, Daz Studio )etc .
Even if you allowed downloads, the person downloading would only get a fixed object/animation not something they could change in DAZ.
In a 3D Modeling program,. such as Hexagon or Carrara,. the downloaded FBX or OBJ could be edited, exported, re-rigged etc... so that assumption isn't entirely correct
If you want to upload static objects I found it best to export from DAZ as obj making sure to collect maps under write surfaces. Zip up the .obj file,.mtl file and maps folder and upload the zip to Sketchfab. This will bring in all the materials.
this sounds like a direct transfer of (model and textures) which (if someone else could access and download) would violate the EULA.
You should seriously contact Daz3D directly to check that what you're doing is allowed,..
Only Daz Productions inc,. have the ability to tell you whether what you're doing is legal, and allowable.
If there's any doubt,. ....leave it out.
Only upload your own models and assets (which you made from scratch)
Sunny 7Haven't done Sunny, but here's Lindsey. I'm finding the mouth does pull a bit at the corners, I did use the pull the corners down morph but still getting a bit more pull than I'd like. I also shut her eyes a tad so the deer in the headlights look would go bye-bye.
Courier scam call?Well it still is a fact a lawyer or the police will have to solve this for you. I'm or anyone here is not familiar enough with the laws of your jurisdiction but I do know that most jurisdictsions forbid the types of calls you are receiving except during certain hours of the day and they must not threaten you in any way. Bankruptcy is not transferrable. Your mother and your brother can never be held accountable for you legally and that includes your financial debts, even if you were or are bankrupt or headed in that direction. Such 'collection businesses' are not the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of any government and have absolutely no rights to enforce, change, or interpret the law. Other businesses, that are trying to call you to take out loans or transfer loans are lower interest or buy extra 'extended' warrantees for your car(s) or other properties are simply scam artists trying to take advantage of your perceived naivity. Legitimate credit offers will come via post, they don't call you. While they can lead to bankruptcy too they aren't the scam artists that these 'businesses' calling you are.
Sunny 7I think she looks like Tween Julie 7 scaled bigger and with new textures, not necessarily adult textures. The nose, the eyes, the mouth....
You can't really say it's bad as you'd expect a child to still look like the same person once they are adults but it seems like it would be better to use the child model and morph it. Certainly cheaper.
Its time for new Cat and Dog models!quick question! I don't supose anyone knows of a decent English Bulldog morph for the milldog? I need one for a commissioned render and I was hoping to save myself some time before attempting to mash one together from scratch. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :D
Sunny 7She *Is* a Thorne character. That is obvious. I'm not personally a fan of the large eyed baby face, woman-child look, but lots of people like that. Not sure the need for another base like this though.
What is a Thorne char? Please, give me (us) some enlightment (I'm not trolling)
Not getting anything else until Lilith and Monique. Having great fun converting my lovely V4 characters to G3 with Genx and the skin converters
Exactly my point (well, for the first sentence)
For the second part (char conversion), I'm thinking, actually. I'm trying to gather some info of what I need. My main problem is: having the closest conversion from V4 chars to G3F.
Here is an example: Pix-Mitsuko. I was disapointed to see the new G3 one. The one I love is the old one http://www.daz3d.com/pix-mitsuko
I really like the morph of this char, its very personal face, and the skins options.
Another example: most of MRL char at rendo have a GREAT face and personality. One of my fav is mrl-hedera-bane
Why can't we get such things in G3?

I'll open a thread to see what results the pros can get to convert those from v4 to G3...
Sunny 7Oh yeah, another DAZ addon character!!! <- (sarcasm) I honestly don't see the point (again). Anyhoo, she looks nice, just not all that different from most of the other characters out there. I just hoipe no vendor character comes out I like that requires her morph, luckily she has no special UV set.
