Here's another character using Toon for Mira as a base. Another Star Wars themed one but his time Ahsoka.
Found something new to me with Daz3d today that allowed me to change the skin color of the base texture using the layered editor built into the texture file selection menu of daz3d. Was able to add the skin color and the face markings using the layered editor. very helpful function that everyone else probably already knew about.

We learn something new everyday, esspecially when it comes to Daz! This looks incredible

Great use of conditional grafts :) I'm curious what shapes were you looking for? The anime figure can use any of the G9 shapes... you can even dial the anime out completely :)
Hey, thanks for the tut's, you've always been a great source of assistance over the years, appreciate it!
Oh, @Mada while I have you, can you save the Conditional Graph button back to the figure, so that it is there anytime you load it? I missed that in the video. I save the scene so I have it, but I didn't see how to save/add it to the figure?
About the shapes...I've been out of this scene for a while, so most everything I have is G8 back to V3. So, I dont have anything G9, except for what is free. I was actually looking for the Real World folder which was a staple genesis set for a while, like voluptuous, but didnt find it, and then was missing my Sakura, Aiko 6, Keiko, Star and even A3. Lots of good anime/toon body options from Daz and vendors of the years! I also have a custom toon body I made for Sakura that is my goto. Then there is the freebies from Shinteo and others that have amassed online (almost all anime style). Just too much selection for this Oldtaku to not have all that as an option. ;-)Glad to hear the tutorials were handy :) and yes that makes sense about the shapes.
You would need to save the figure BUT I have had wonky results saving the toon because its basically a shape dialed on G9 and I never work with figures, only clothing. If you do save it I would recommend that you call it something different and make sure that you change the data folder complete away from Daz3D or its going to save over your Genesis 9. Someone who works with figures might have a better way to save it :)

If you don't mind manually tweaking shader/texture settings, you can get really good results using Filatoon on older models. I did this with Sakura 8 a while back (using your simple eyes product!). https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/6736226870624256#gallery=newest&page=1&image=13533063dOutlaw said:Mada said:

How do i turn off ambient light?JackFoster said:
In DS, it's called the headlamp. It's a light that's attached to the camera you're using, and it can be turned off. In the Render Settings tab, under General, there's an option for Auto Headlamp. If you turn it to Never, then you won't have to worry about the headlamp anymore. Also, if you create a camera, you can control its headlamp independently. It defaults to Auto, which uses your render settings, but you can also turn it to Off or On.
When set to Auto, the headlamp also turns off whenever you create a new light source, though it won't automatically turn off for hdri light or emissive shaders.
Edit:
Speaking of hdri light, if you're using the default render settings for Iray, then you've got environment light as well as the headlamp. To turn this off, go to Render Settings, and under Environment, change Environment Mode to Scene Only.
Thankyou JackFoster. You're a star. Been tryingfor hours to resovle this.

What the hell is Gordig doing now?Handsome Pete (human face)
Born to a Lone Star officer and a corporate wageslave, Handsome Pete recognized early on that such a straight-laced life would never afford him the lifestyle he desired. With his natural charm, he started running confidence schemes in primary school, saving up enough money to pay his own way into a fancy prep school. Having gained entree into a more privileged (and less street-smart) milieu, he set to work building up an extensive network of upper-crust contacts - to say nothing of the rubes that funded his further rise into high society.

Adding in a recent image for my comic. I used the filatoon on the scene as a base start and then did some postwork in Photoshop. The combo works to add in outlines that Filatoon doesn't always do, plus adds in a painterly effect. Still struggling with shadows. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't for different scenes. Also curious about emissives. I didn't dabble much in iRay so I'm not that familiar in setting them up. Also could use some info on working with bloom. Similar issue as emissive for me.
As an old 1950s/60s comic reader/collector of DC/Marvel comics and of the original Star Trek series when it was first broadcast, I love what you did. I can't help you much on any of your problem areas, but keeping an eye on this and the other filatoon thread, I think I remember other folks speaking about this issues and how they worked around them.

Hair of Rey Skywalker ?hello
Does anyone know where I can find the 3D model of Rey's hair for Genesis 8 or Genesis 9 from star wars ? Please
Bonjour
Est-ce que quelqu'un sait où je peux trouver le modèle 3D des cheveux de Rey pour Genesis 8 ou Genesis 9 de Star Wars ? Svp
There are often bodies of characters but there is never hair with them
Star Wars Renders 2013 +Cheers Unusualsuspex, I appreciate the kind words, and was definitely fun to see the old bird appear in the show. Now that we're getting to see the thing in more detail, there are some subtle differences, and a few additiional details in there that I could add, but I think my journey with that ship is pretty much done. Have one more job to do on it, and then it is time to move on to something new. Besides, I like that there are a few differences. It means I'll know when someone is using mine for reference, or has gone to the original source. Like that incident with the Star Wars comic book where the artist had clearly used one of my renders as reference for his illustration of the ship, right down to the unique way the canopy works on mine. Which was a dead giveaway.

One can also try looking at some of the ear-morphs packs and packs with head morphs and forehead morphs and whatnot. I used a combination of assorted forehead morphs and earmorphs with some dial=spinning when I wnated to make a mostly-human-but-clearly-alien character for one of my upcoming render projects, and I decided I wanted to go the 60s' Star Trek "alien of the week" approach for it.
My disappoitnment with most of the ear-morphs packs was that most of them were different sorts of pointy-ears... when what I wanted was wierd-broadleaf-shaped ears, akin to that non-human guy in "Way to Eden." I did eventually find something that worked for that, though.
That said, there's also assorted-alien-shape morph packs like this one: https://www.daz3d.com/hfs-ultimate-shapes-bundle
You could also try ancient-mythical-beings guys this one for aliens: https://www.daz3d.com/ancient-horus-for-genesis-8-male There are also way older versions of these sort of ancient-myth characters for older Genesis generations or older, such as this generation-4 one from the same merchant: https://www.daz3d.com/the-bird-cult
I tottaly forgot about this set I own these morphs its just sooo annoying how small the thumbnails sliders are make it so hard see what they are

Some Star Wars stuff.
What I do find odd is that there are so many words that it times out on. I found that you can't use the word "voluptuous" but "curvy" is okay.
Try using FLUX at Krea, it is even more restrictive.

The problem is, in AI work, there is not much of a "himself" inside.Yes, that was my point.

Annual Fire Festival
Torment's acolytes, who had dwindled to two, were not so thrilled by his efforts at the Annual Fire Festival.
"Maybe we try the new guy Astoroth's gig next year"
For his part, Torment said maybe he was getting soft, but he was tired of starting real fires and just got a kick out of getting the rangers excited with his illusions.

That got me thinking about animation styles I particularly enjoy. One style I like a lot is the later seasons of Clone Wars/Bad Batch. I would like to see a product like Cartoonized by PFA, but instead would be morphs that can change any Daz character to a more Clone Wars/Bad Batch style character. Also it would include filatoon shaders that produce a shading style closer to those shows. Just my little product suggestion.
