There are many, many visual novels (dozens, if not hundreds) that use Daz assets and use Daz Studio for rendering and animating. A small number of them use Daz assets but render in Blender, and some are even migrating to Unity to render their scenes.
The quality of these indie games ranges from absolutely awful, to surprisingly good. And the vast majority of them are definitely adults-only. Once again, there is a huge range in quality. Obviously, some are just straight-up porn, but some have stories that are fantastic if you don't mind some explicit content. One of them is the only game that has ever made this normally grumpy guy cry like a little girl. I'm glad that some of these games have begun to be released on Steam over the past year or two, but most are patreon funded.

I consider myself to be fortunate to be able to count a few of these game developers as friends.The reason I created the Dirty Dishes products was because I was tired of seeing dinner scenes that consisted of untouched full meals on plates, followed by perfectly clean plates, with no evidence of people eating anything in between. I owe my existence as a PA to my game dev friends who enthusiastically encouraged me to submit my food assets to the store. It gives me joy to see my products in some of these games.
I won't link anything here, but if you're curious to see what some folks do with Daz assets, search youtube for Leap of Faith by drifty games (the chapter 8 trailer is fun), or for U4IA (also by drifty games), Where It All Began intro by Ocean, or the City of Broken Dreamers trailer by Philly games, or the Artemis trailer by digi.B. Will they stack up versus AAA studios with literally hundreds of developers? Of course not. But I'm amazed what they can achieve as one-person indie developers.

 

That morph is the "Hip panyhose" in your parameter's tab.  Type in "hip" as a search and you will find it.  Click on the gear and select "reset value".  That should correct the problem.  The bigger question (and I don't know the answer) is why that morph is acting as a default when you load the Genesis base character...

Does this happen when you are adding a new G8 character to a scene, or when opening the same scene up?  Do you have the "hip pantyhose" morph saved as locked?

Thanks for the recommendations! Now I need to look for a tutorial that teaches how to import external 3D assets (FBX and OBJ, for example) into Daz, as well as how to apply Iray to them because I've never done anything like this before and I have no idea where to start hahaha. In fact, these 3D models of CDJs that I mentioned previously would work into Daz, right?

I hope other forum members will post their upgrade experiences and lessons to this thread as time goes along so we can all have a place where hardware decisions related to DAZ Studio can be shared and maybe make it a little easier to find the caveats and the buyer be aware notes that help when deciding what to do about your upgrade.

I realize many threads have been made because people don't know where to ask their specific hardware question and that makes it really hard for others find the information they want. Please do not post aside comments here.

It is my hope to have a thread that really discusses DAZ related hardware recommendations and pitfalls.

1. Thanks for the comments. So I will infer from this IF I want to spend money on a RTX 4060 Ti 16GB to buy me another year or so of life from tthe i7-4790K, then I should be good to go.

3. To kyoto kid. I worked as a Canadian product manager at Sharp Electronics and one of my Canadian born co-workers had worked in Tokyo for a few years. He was so taken with the culture (fluent in Japanese) that he had recorded his favorite Japanese TV shows. When he translated show names for me they were so humorous that it always stuck with me. I thought if I give the thread an unsual name it might be easier for people to find it in the future.

This was very helpful. I located the two files under "Mouth Cavity" which had not been remapped. I did not know that this was a separate map from the head, as this was my first custom G9 character. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!

Turns out it is DS4.6 that I have installed. I reinstalled the plug-in and tried it there - exactly thre same result.

On the DS5 forum, I have suggested that support for "AMD Radeon ProRender" be added to DS5.

Anyone could write a plug-in to support ProRender - I suspect the challenge would be adapting materials.

ProRender's documentation says that it has a shader called "Uber Shader".  At the top level, it's parameter groups seem to match up with those from DS IRay Uber Base.

I know nothing about the game,  but I did a quick search  and it is available on STEAM,  and it looks to be a "datig sim"  type game.  There are 25 positive  reviews so far from people who bought the game.  So ,  they seem to like it.  If the developer wants to use Daz Assets for a game,  and it is successful for them,  its all good. I thought the intro video had a crisp clean look. Nothing like a Triple AAA title,  but appropriate for a simulation type game.

And iclone is fast indeed but the graphics doesn't look so realistic like animate 2
 

 

Animate 2 is not the rendering program but the nonlinear motion clip system for Daz studio 
it is nowhere near as advanced as the motion clip system of Iclone 7 and Iclone has a far better facial & lipsinc animation system as well.
