Question about custom.morphs& GENX2
If it's just for your use, you could export an object of your morph, use morph loader to load it in. Save as a morph asset. It should then be visible to transfer as a single morph to Gen1.
The Doctor Appreciation threadJoeQuick had a Tenth Doctor morph?! Where?

[EDIT: I found it! And that means it's going in the Who Freebies List!]
Folded Clothes OptionWell, here's a quick 'proof of concept' trial...

I used Blender to 'clothify' G3F and 'pinned' parts of her in place before running the sim against the hanger prop. I did a quick smooth/cleanup of the mesh before exporting back to Studio. Then I loaded the 'hanging' G3F through Morph Loader, fit the dress as usual (it's Wilmaps Princess Line dress for G3F), hid G3F and hit render...
you could share that morph if you wished too.
Folded Clothes OptionIt is possible to find a number of morphs that turn human figures into different kinds of beasts/deamon/zombies.
What if someone made a morph that gave the figure a flat chest with adjustable thickness and curved shoulders (to match many chairs) and a strange shoulder/neck morph (to match a wardrobe hanger).
Auto fit the clothes to this figure and make the figure invisible in the render.Does http://www.daz3d.com/make-a-mess . work with g3f and g3m clothes?
Make a Mess works only with Morphing Fantasy Dress for Genesis
When D-former doesn't biteHi there... It's been a year so sorry for the bump but... I have the same problem. The D-Former just doesn't follow the pose of my character. At first you'd think the field doesn't exists, but when you scale it up, it starts appearing on your target. It's just that the D-Former is applied to the default pose of the target. So all you can do is apply a morph to the target at pose zeroed, and apply the pose after that. But it isn't very effective when you try to fit stuffs to other character or items i.e. (in my case) the floor.
I'm relatively new at DAZ3D, so idk if you can add a collision fit to hair so it doesn't go through the floor (in my case still). It would be nice if the devs could fix the D-Former tool, (or tell me what I do wrong)...
Missing Mortem Vetus ProductsMortem Vetus's "Herne" is also missing. I wonder if MV pulled some of his products from the store.
Was Herne ever offered as a standalone product at DAZ? I bought it as part of the "Battle Bundle."
If Noel has indeed been pulled, it will be missed. That was not only a great Santa morph but also a very useful, ruddy senior citizen texture too. It's one of the few instances where MV released a character that didn't have a strong dark fantasy/horror vibe and it really shows just how talented MV are that they could release something so pitch perfect outside their usual comfort zone.
Morph WIP: Christopher Reeve for GenesisTime for another updateǃ I think the morph might at least be approaching a final draft. I did some work on his cheeks and touched up his nose and lips a bit. Right now, to my eyes, it looks like a significant improvement, but a second or third set of eyes is always helpful, so don't be shyǃ
I thought you were modeling but that you are only using dials makes your work even more impressive. I think the Superman image at the end is the best.
Question about custom.morphs& GENX2Hi I have a custom face morph for Genesis2 created with a combination of custom sculpting in a modelor & slider manipulation. It is saved as shaping preset. How can I make it available or "seen" by GENX2 to transfer it to genesis 1 As I may have need for this character on the genesis one rig for technical production reasons. Thanks. AnabranDear content authors: Please continue to support 3delightWell, basic tips:
Opacity maps aren't going to transfer right. So be sure to have copies or something to set Opacity properly.
I recommend US or US2, if you have it. Keep an eye on bump and displacement values, since those tend to default to -.1 - +.1
Metals are easily captured by looking at Raytraced reflections.
If you are stumped by specular (which I've gotten weird results with), I'd recommend finding a shader that's in the same ballpark and looking at it's settings. Like, you want glossy wood? Apply glossy wood to something and check the values. Or apply glossy wood and switch the maps back.
Skin is another story. I'm still struggling to get consistently decent skin.
Also 3DL seems to like really weirdly high lighting values. Again, struggling with it. 3DL seems to require a bit more unintitive learning than, IMO, Iray has.
Thanks, Will. Given your comment about opacity maps and skins, do you think that IRay to 3DL on the consumer end is best served with objects (vehicles, tools, sets) than with characters?
I agree 110% about the lighting levels needed for 3DL. My very first renders looked like they were done with a single flashbulb in the middle of a blackout in the middle of the night at Grand Central Station. There's a real learning curve with 3DL but I think it's worth it, especially if you treat a render as a starting point to be fiddled with further in Photoshop for artistic reasons (i.e. faking a painting on canvas).

Superheroes Rebooted - Ready to Rrrrrender? Here's an updated test render of my face morph WIP of Christopher Reeve for Genesis 1ǃ Hopefully, the likeness has gotten better. Constructive critique is welcome as alwaysǃ

N.G.S. Anagenessis II - Revolution [Commercial]Trying to get the hang of this with a morph I've been working on. This is the original Genesis figure with an older M4 texture. I definitely need to find a better hair but the skin looks decent. I think a better map would help, this one is kind of clean for an older guy like this. But so far so good. Will continue to tweak things.
EDIT: I recalled that I recently bought SkinBlender too so I decided to give it a try and blend the M4 Gladiator skin at about 40% to age it up a bit, that skin also using this Anagenesis II product. That's the second render.
G3 morph in HexagonI have a g3 morph in Hexagon and want to bring it back into Daz Studio as a morph for G3, does anyone know of a good step by step tutorial for this. I want to be able to have the morph as a dial after I get it back into DS. I am using 4.9

well since you can redistribute/sell morphs I guess clothifying the base figure's mesh in Poser could work too for fitted clothes if close fitting.
Show Us Your Iray Renders. Part VLots of nice images. I've seen a few in the gallery and commented. It looks like I have a couple more to track down in the gallery. I finally did an Iray render that I can actually post here. Actually, kind of two renders in one. Workflow was something like - Iray>Gimp>LIE>Iray>Gimp again.
How much for a t-shirt? ;)
- Greg
@algovincian Hah! I'm actually looking into that. I've definitely decided to get one of my own printed. I'm actually rendering a higher quality of Nuggets now. After I take him into Gimp for the postwork I did, I'm taking it to Zazzle to see what I can do. So far, it looks like the cheapest shirt is $17.95 for a basic T. I want to see how good a job they do with it. I've never had one of my images done up on shirt by a professional company. I've always done the home style way of print it on transfer paper and iron it on a shirt yourself type a thing. But, I've heard good things about Zazzle and it might be interesting to see if anyone else is interested in purchasing anything with my prints on them. Not holding my breath, mind you. :)
Black ring around iris...HELP!If you view your model in one of the draw styles that shows the wireframe, do you see any part of the eye changing size disproportionately as you dial your morph slowly from 0% to 100%?
Way out on a limb now - Could it be anything with the surface settings of the sclera, cornea or iris? Maybe try setting each surface to a solid opaque color to see which surface (if any) the black ring is associated with. Try changing opacity of some surfaces to 0 isolate each part to see if anything looks wrong.

That's actually an interesting experiment to try.
Using real life products in commercial renders... Anyone get in trouble with it?Of course I'm no legal expert, nor claim to know what companies are willing to ignore/pursue but I think someone wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt in a scene or two is easily overlooked compared to a main or supporting character closely resembling Mickey Mouse.
I've been wondering about this one - it's pretty close to Donald Duck. How do you know where to draw the line?:
The way I see it, since the product can be used to create a wide variety of toon duck/bird people (most of which that look nothing like Donald) that's probably why it's ok.
However, if someone were to dial in the morph that looks a lot like Donald and tried to publish an animation or comic of that character, Disney might take notice and have something to say about that.
I imagine something like that. In that case DAZ' general claim that all products can be used for commercial renders and animations is invalid, sort of.
