Specifically here
"Other Improvements (Read More)
Fine, short hairs are added to the female face and body, male anatomical elements are available on females and vice versa, and the Facial Control Rig and Power Pose Panel for Face are enhanced.

So my question is where is this other bundle?

The clothing that is part of today's victoria bundle is working on 8.0 as well. Same applies to the vellus hair (that one needs to be auto-fitted). But unless 8.0 is explicitely stated as "compatible", its a hit or miss.
Where are you finding the new vellus hair?

Is there a clear list of which improvements come with Genesis 8.1, and which can only be obtained by purchasing Victoria 8.1? The Introducing Genesis 8.1/Victoria 8.1 seems to blur these distinctions. Particularly, are the FACS controls we see in the example video Victoria-only? Because after updating but not purchasing Victoria 8.1, I don't see any way to do what is shown in the FACS example video, but I don't know if that's because I'm just not finding it or because it only comes with Victoria 8.1?
I do like how the eyelids react to rotation of the eyeballs, G8F and G3F did not always do this very well. I was able to use Look at Me (unchecking Adjust Eyelids) with G8.1F to make the eyeballs turn towards the camera, and then the eyelids adjusted appropriately on their own. Some other GF8 products refuse to recognize G8.1F as G8F, though, like Fit Control. It refuses to run and tells me to select a Genesis 8 Female when GF8.1 is selected.
The controls are with Genesis 8.1 in the anatomy section (but often crash when I use them, so perhaps be careful).
If you own a pro bundle (i'd assume you'd need to own a pro bundle with the male anatomy) a version of the male anatomy appears in the female anatomy section.
I don't seem to be able to find any vellus/body hairs, so those might be Victoria 8.1/figure addons.
Hmm, I don't have anything new in the Anatomy section except the 8.1 Female Eyelashes and 8.1 Female Tear attachments. Nothing related to face control in the anatomy section of Smart Content either with G8.1F selected.
For me it's called "Genesis 8.1 Female Face Controls" and is part of the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials (it just has a shiny grey head as the icon). You could try reinstalling the starter essentials or updating metadata or searching in the content library/lost and found. Why is it never simple.
Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1I purchased Victoria 8.1 and got her loaded up, but I'm not finding any vellus hair? I don't see that listed on her product page as "included" either...but it's listed as a feature of 8.1...so...?
Vicky 8.1 University BundleSo... no discounts for people who own previous gen 8 characters? Even if they own ALL of the previous Gen 8 and Gen 7 Pro bundles? I'm being offered an orange bar 20% discount because I already own the two older items in the bundle, but no matter how I look at it, $58.78 for a bundle that contains only a base figure, 1 hair, 1 outfit, 1 set, 1 jewellery and a couple of poses equals yet another price jump in six months. And seriously, why are those older items in there any way? They've had time to create an updated figure base but they couldn't create two extra items for the first bundle in a new series? The fact that apparently 8.0 hair items apparently aren't even autofitting makes the inclusion of one in this set especially baffling. It's pretty clear that DAZ's new policy is "Less is More", as in less for us and more for them, and as someone who's intentionally held off on upgrading to 4.15 until they fix the current issues, I'm not feeling much love for this new Victoria right now.

I just have upgraded all my characters from G3 to G8. The last commitment was my flagship character, who was upgraded last month. I jokingly said "Watch. As soon as I commit to her G8F version, G9 will come out."
SONOFA ...Nah. Not feeling it. I spent too much money on Zev0, EJ, and Hellboy morphs and too much time upgrading a stable of 30 characters to do it all over again. Especially when the Zev0, EJ, and Hellboy morph sets for G8.1 aren't available yet. The big kicker is my flagship character uses a V7 face for a base. When will Riversoft release a G3 to G8.1 character converter? I also finally got skin sets that look like I want them to, and the new UV means starting over from scratch. YIKES!
I don't do animations, closeups, or portraits. I do action scenes. So, any benefits from V8.1 would be totally lost at the range I usually "shoot" the scene at. If pores and body hair show up at that range, then I'm probably playing with Orcs.
I will say, though, that V8.1 has a much prettier face than V8.
The cool thing is since I just have upgraded everyone, there are still plenty (and I mean plenty) of fantasy outfits for G8 that I still haven't purchased. Yet. So, things will keep chugging along at their usual pace, and DAZ will still cause me to break the monthly budgets.
There is no need for character converters or morph sets or new UVs. G8.1 is still G8. Everything except some expressions works as always.
You can already use all your upgraded G8 characters in G8.1
G8.1 is still G8. At the risk of sounding like a naysayer, if G8.1 is still G8, then why bother with G8.1? What is the purpose? Why bother upgrading to G8.1 if she's still G8? Why not just stick with G8 and spend my money on clothes for G8? I'm not understanding this. Not just for facial hair (which won't show up in my renders anyway). I also don't understand how G3/8 skins will fit G8.1 if G8.1 has a totally different UV and new mapping system. Something doesn't add up here.
There is a new UV called Base 8.1 Female. The original Base Female UV is still there so applying any existing Genesis 8 Female character skin/morphs just works. All hair, clothing etc still works exactly the same.
There are new facial controls and so expressions will not transfer between the two. Eyes and mouth have been updated.
For me naming is going to a potential issue from here as it appears that everything will have Genesis 8.1 Female as the required figure whether it will work with Genesis 8 Female or not. Case in point the new Z Sign Language Alphabet for Genesis 8.1 Female and Victoria 8.1 is a set of hand poses. Nothing has chaned in the hands so will work perfectly well with Genesis 8 Female but some people may be put off by the product name and Compatible Figure name.
The interesting thing on the expressions not working bit, is that I am finding the expressions I transferred from Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 with X-Transfer seem to work really well.. While the bulk of the expressions for Genesis 8 as you said do not work, except for 3D Universe's Gayll the expressions for her work fine with G8.1F

As far as I understand you just have to dial in your existing characters to the new Genesis 8.1 base. This way you get a character that looks and behaves like your old ones and is compatible with your existing library as well as new stuff that will be released for 8.1.
Initial experimentation for me shows that G8 shaping presets will work on G8.14.12, because I'd read that upgrading to 4.15 breaks compatibility with older graphics cards, and as I'm using a GTX960M without issue I didn't really want to chance it. I saw further upthread that just applying the morph to the new figure should work... but I got bored and went off to create another scene that's been floating around in my head instead.
Buy Something That Doesn't Work in Carrara? Post your Questions and Workarounds here. (please)After taking Holiday time to get to know the sides of Daz Studio that I never really used it for, I have made a few other discoveries along the way:
- I prefer to use Daz Studio for working with anything Genesis 2, 3 and 8 - Compatibility makes a World of Difference!
- I prefer Carrara when working with Genesis 1 - For my Rosie character, things that fit almost perfectly simply using Auto-Fit are pretty much unusable in D|S
- I like to use transparency maps, so Filament just doesn't work for me.
I spent quite a lot on Genesis 8 in order to create and test Rosie 8, which was a worthwhile investment. I really needed to try this technology as well as others, like Octane and Iray, new D|S animation features, etc.,
It was refreshing (to me) to see that these modern render engines have their own batch of flaws and difficulties. In Carrara, using Carrara dynamic hair, I often have to re-render certain frames of an animation because one of the six layers of hair didn't render for that frame. Carrara makes this fix incredibly natural, easy and fast.
Did I love my experience in Daz Studio? Absolutely - largely because Rosie 8 turned out so well, thanks to Thorne/Handspan Studios' Lara being such a perfect fit for her, along with a whole lot of tweaking and Victoria 8's body. Linday's Long Curly dForce hair is amazing as well, but it takes a LOT of time to simulate and render. In comparison, it uses four layers of hair that simulate simultaneously which can take 5+ minutes or even more per frame, while Rosie 5's six layers of hair must be simulated individually, but simulate around 1.2 to 2 frames per second. Big difference. It does put a hit on render times, but after all this time optimizing, I'm still getting mid-distance shots rendered in less than 2 minutes per frame. So far if I try that speed in Octane, the results aren't nearly as good. Iray... um... forget about speed. Given time to bake, however, and Iray spits out the finest renders I've ever seen from my own work.
I've made a fair review of my stint into Daz Studio on my site: Discovering Daz Studio
Would I switch from Carrara to Daz Studio? I doubt that could happen.
Do I want to use Daz Studio more along with my Carrara work? Absolutely!

Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1I just bought Victoria 8.1 but where do I find Genesis 8.1?
Am I missing something or is there just Victoria 8.1?
Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1I guess I'll bite for Victoria 8.1 and Michael 8.1, but if Daz is going to *sell* an 8.1 update for all other G8 characters, then they can forget about it.
Would still be interested in Lilith 8.1 and Cat 8.1 though. Lilith 7 was great, so I wanted a Lilith 8 since the beginning of Genesis 8. And a Cat for generation 8 is also loooooong overdue.
Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1There's been a 1 feature that's nice, then a few that are probably useful to those that do extreme closeups and certain kinds of animation. Kind of wish there'd been more general things like soft body, or maybe a tool for creating materials from other materials to use with the alternate anatomy. The tools are probably needed, as most texture sets likely won't come with support (Victoria 8.1 doesn't), but that will probably be released by someone at some point. As a note, the promo picture for the "updated eye" makes the eye look like a bad sharpened Jpeg, which makes the eyes look worse to me. But it's only a minor update, so there's probably going to be more improvements and fixes to everything.
But, the main problem with 8.1 now for me is that for some reason the controls are a bit broken.
In Powerpose, switching to Head controls doesn't do anything but turning off the icons of the previous template. The "eyes closed" slider is present doesn't do anything, as I guess the eyes closed control is now "eyes blink". So that control should probably be removed when it's 8.1 or "blink" be renamed to the standard one for better compatibility (even though it's different), as they have the same basic function.

A bit exited about that one but can't find anything in the 8.1 base.
It is a seperate file completely called Genesis 8.1 Female Vellus Hair
Where to find that file and is it or is it not solely in Victoria 8.1?
Is it official that it is only part of Victoria?

I spend SO MUCH money on Victoria 8 so far, not to mention Victoria 3 and 2.
I can not really do this and I think I am not alone with that.
Turns out you're in luck. You don't need to invest in or buy G8.1 items. The only things that aren't 100% inter-compatible are some G8 expressions and the G8.1 expressions along with textures won't be backward compatible.
But it looks as if new G8.1 items won't work on G8 characters and I would have to buy the new G8.1 characters to us them.
Not:e to PAs I already have invested heavily in buying G* characters and if your new clthing, hair, etc. won't work on them then I won't be buying it.
Clothing and hair should be fine on G8.
It's characters which use the new UVs or expressions which won't be compatible.
