See my first post, I took the link for the "University bundle" and reasoned the right address for V8.1 from that.

So where did that link come from.    I click links from the store front page,  takes me to the correct store page,  I click links from the newsletter it takes me to the correct store page. I click links from the rolling banner drop down it takes me to the correct store page   adn I click the last link Victor_B shoewed it takes me to the correct store page

Where to find that file and is it or is it not solely in Victoria 8.1?

Someone else confirmed earlier the vellus hair only comes with the Victoria 8.1 package, not part of the base update.

It's also not something that'll be automatically added when you load V8.1. It'll be something you'll have to add afterwards, like anything else.

it is "OOPS" for me too.

After reading all of this I can happily say that I am glad that my wallet will continue to like me because I will not be spending any money on anything 8.1. Not only does this feel like another money grab by daz for those looking for that next level of realism in my opinion, but it seems that they rolled it out without having all the issues fixed. When daz updated Victoria 4 to 4.2 everything was compatable and now that we get 8.1 we get a "should be compable" update where it is questionable if expressions will work and geoshells don't seem to be compatable. In a time where new updates for studio and new sets are getting pushed out with bugs that should have been caught prior to release, I think it is safe to say that I will stick with G3 and 4.12.  

Today's "Owners or buyers of the Victoria 8.1 University Bundle get 50% OFF* Select Genesis 8 Items" does not work for me. I have previously purchased the bundle, but it is not showing up as such. So at least the "owners" part does not work (for me).

The clothing that is part of today's victoria bundle is working on 8.0 as well. Same applies to the vellus hair (that one needs to be auto-fitted). But unless 8.0 is explicitely stated as "compatible", its a hit or miss.

Link to Victoria 8.1 is broken wrong. Nobody noticed this?

Definitely something to think about before I start spending.  Given the current situation with my work hours ( cutbacks due to the Covid situation like many other people in the world) and what seems as somewhat limited use, I may have to take a wait and see approach on this figure at least until more information becomes available and how soon we see the male figure update.

You can simply apply G8 skin materials to 8.1 the way you usually would. The biggest skin shader difference appears to be with Victoria 8.1; she has completely different surface settings. 

What I would advise people to do if they're worried about compatibility is to just play with the base 8.1 figure for now to see how they like the new face controls and stuff and not worry about "buying in." There is no risk at all in experimenting with dialing morphs into the 8.1 base, testing out how materials work, etc. Messing around with it is probably the best way to see exactly what's changed and whether or not it's worth transferring your existing character presets. 

Sorry for being stupid, but I've read the entire thread and still feel that I haven't got it yet. It's like this, right?

1) All G8-Characters work just like they did before...

2) ... but not with the improved skins and eyes, because that is 8.1-only.

3) Victoria 8.1 gets me both, and I could apply e.g. Frejas morph to her but not Frejas materials as that would lose me the improvements in skin and eyes?

Since 8.1 has a completely new face rig, the Expressions package is basically required to make any use of Genesis 8.1. Victoria 8.1 might be the "star" of the bundle, but the Expressions package is the must-have piece of the entire thing.

The Dorm room was sold previously, then added to this bundle. (So, I already had that one, and it counted towards a discount on this bundle.) I am 100% okay with that approach.

There are worse things than this bundle. It's not the greatest bundle for sure, but it's perfectly adequate.

I've got to get in on this discussion...

First, it seems the reason why this is 8.1 and not 9 is because only the face got an upgrade.

I wish hands had gotten the upgrade too.

If the whole body had gotten an upgrade then it would be version 9.

I many cases a full body upgrade is not needed especially if you are just going to cover it with clothes.

Many of my figures are in their bathing suits so version nine I am looking forward to also.

I just hope Genesis 9 can still use clothing and hair from previous figures.

Also where is Michael 8.1 and Genesis 8.1 male?

And can I morph Victoria 8.1 into a male?

Can someone walk me through that?

I do not need anatomical elements, just converting nipple, face and body morphs to male help.

Okay, I just got the Bundle.

I think Victoria 8.1 has the Vellus hair, but not G8.1 (via the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials).

The Genesis 8.1 Vellus Hair did not show up in DIM until I got the bundle (including Victoria 8.1).

I pretty much skipped Genesis 3 / Victoria 7 when they came out.  By the time genesis 8 / v8 came out, I had finally gotten around to experimenting with Misty's presets.  I bought a lot of genesis 8 stuff, and the sales resulted in my getting a big genesis 3 library thrown in when buying genesis 8 bundles.  Similarly, I didn't buy much genesis stuff when it first came out but then ended up with a bunch when I dove in genesis 2.

I think I have only tried 2 or 3 filament renders.  I love the control over lights, etc that we get with Carrara.
