I just bought Victoria 8.1 but where do I find Genesis 8.1?

Am I missing something or is there just Victoria 8.1?

I guess I'll bite for Victoria 8.1 and Michael 8.1, but if Daz is going to *sell* an 8.1 update for all other G8 characters, then they can forget about it.

Would still be interested in Lilith 8.1 and Cat 8.1 though. Lilith 7 was great, so I wanted a Lilith 8 since the beginning of Genesis 8. And a Cat for generation 8 is also loooooong overdue.

There's been a 1 feature that's nice, then a few that are probably useful to those that do extreme closeups and certain kinds of animation. Kind of wish there'd been more general things like soft body, or maybe a tool for creating materials from other materials to use with the alternate anatomy. The tools are probably needed, as most texture sets likely won't come with support (Victoria 8.1 doesn't), but that will probably be released by someone at some point. As a note, the promo picture for the "updated eye" makes the eye look like a bad sharpened Jpeg, which makes the eyes look worse to me. But it's only a minor update, so there's probably going to be more improvements and fixes to everything. 

But, the main problem with 8.1 now for me is that for some reason the controls are a bit broken.

In Powerpose, switching to Head controls doesn't do anything but turning off the icons of the previous template. The "eyes closed" slider is present doesn't do anything, as I guess the eyes closed control is now "eyes blink". So that control should probably be removed when it's 8.1 or "blink" be renamed to the standard one for better compatibility (even though it's different), as they have the same basic function.

Where to find that file and is it or is it not solely in Victoria 8.1?

Turns out you're in luck. You don't need to invest in or buy G8.1 items. The only things that aren't 100% inter-compatible are some G8 expressions and the G8.1 expressions along with textures won't be backward compatible.

But it looks as if new G8.1 items won't work on G8 characters and I would have to buy the new G8.1 characters to us them.

Not:e to PAs I already have invested heavily in buying G* characters and if your new clthing, hair, etc. won't work on them then I won't be buying it. 

Clothing and hair should be fine on G8.

It's characters which use the new UVs or expressions which won't be compatible.

I bought her and will use what I have for G8F on her as I can not afford to spend more money on this hobby. I spend so much on Genesis 8, 3, and 2 and I can not justify spending more on a new figure. It is great that we can use our * old * G8F on Victoria 8.1, but it is not good that it is not backwards compatible.

Apparently we are now going to have to purchase the newest model upgrades. I wager backwards compatible packages flood the market very soon. The tea leaves say it is so.

So... you guys are installing G8.1F and all your previous morphs and characters are available?  I'm jealous.  I've got a choice of Victoria or Victoria.

When I tried to click on the link on my product page for Victoria 8.1 so I could print the promo pages, it redirected me to the DAZ main page. I have tried other links without success, except seeing the lovely main page. Is something going on? I thought I had looked at the promo page a few hours ago before I bought the bundle.

The facial skin for Victoria 8.1 is a HUGE leap forward and I am very pleased with it!

Now we need hands too. :)

I am very glad I bought the Victoria 8.1 bundle and a few add-ons.

Gen 8 male eyelashes work on Victoria 8.1

I hope we don't have to wait months for Genesis 8.1 male and Michael 8.1  :(

I wish they had been released at the same time.

I tried putting a beard on Victoria and morphing her features to male and it t did not work too well.

She was still quite feminine, perhaps I am not artistic enough in this area..

What did work pretty well was putting beards on from Genesis 8 males to Victoria 8.1.

A few of them worked well and so did the male eyebrows.

If this is any indication of how well Michael 8.1 will work I am very excited to also buy Michael 8.1 asap...

I assume incompatibilities with some backward products will be ironed out over time.

I look forward to Michael 8.1 :)

No, the product library is not showing the bundle, and clicking on the "Victoria 8.1. University Bundle" link within my order shows a product library page with a swirly. I have filed a ticket. It is a bit frustrating, as I wanted to use the current discounts on some of the genesis items. 

I just hope this works unlike the mess that was Victoria 4.1 & 4.2.
