Problem with the rigging not posing when loaded into Carrara - solved by converting to Blended Weight in DAZ Studio.

Next problem - clothing not playing the game when the Semi-realistic morph is used.
1. Tried just using the Autofit with the clone - not working on Semi-realistic morph in Carrara
2. Loaded the clothing onto the Webboid in DAZ Studio, converted to Blended Weight and saved as a Scene Subset, not working on Semi-realistic morph in Carrara
3. With the loaded blended weight clothing on the Webboid in DAZ Studio, applied the Semi Realistic morph in DAZ Studio, saved as a scene subset, not working on Semi-realistic morph in Carrara
Any thoughts on other methods ?
Free Toon Characters coming July 1st, early download available nowThank-you ! Works in Carrara after converting to Blended Weight in DAZ Studio.
Clothing from Toon Generations needs exploring to come up with best method for Carrara, as the Realistic morph with the clothing Auto-fit was having issues a couple of ways that I tried.

This is awesome... thanks for your tireless work and dedication to your project. I'll try them out in Carrara and if they work ok I may even spend some money in the Daz store

Thanks, I hope they work well for you. With all due respect, though, you should be selling in the DAZ store...

Both are good. Vue and plant factory also work well in Blender. Haven't tried the plants in C. Really amazing what an allrounder C was for it's time. I got the 8.5P on a recent sale just in case. Carrara wiggles it's way into your heart.♥ Wanted the 64bit version. It totally choked on a LAMH OBJ model though. It's weird cause after 100% import, which took foreeever. It reached it, but just stared blankly back. Lol. Then the other attempt ended w/ the rest of the OBJ coming in as some kinda blob. Probably, coulda converted it. I did get it to work okay in Blender though.
Yes, Carrara has become second nature to me, I don't have to think how to do something, just what I want to do, especially for animation. And I've pretty much learned what will import and what to avoid (DAZ Studio files are iffy). One of my alltime favorite VUE model vendors switched to Blender a while back, but I just can't get my head around it and do not (yet?) have the incentive. Happily I have a good collection of his earlier VUE models. I used one in this animation done mostly in Carrara (one of the VUE scenes attached, the yacht is imported from a Poser format model which Carrara also handles nicely):

So sorry to hear. Flooding, hurricanes etc... are no joke. Stay safe. I thought this brief journey down 3D sw lane interesting.
Yes, interesting summary. I'm still clinging to Carrara and VUE.

Is there a way to move a prop and have both hands follow (like a spear)?SnowSultan said:
Thanks for the advice, it seems like SilverGirl's link is probably the best option we have for this sort of thing? Ah, VGDigitimes, for when you absolutely need to use the most complicated-looking method to do something relatively simple. ;) I wishlisted it, thank you.
that's DAZ studio for you

yeah, it's actually easier for me to do such things in iClone or Carrara and export a BVH file
probably Unreal or Blender too
I wonder of Cassaduer could do it

These Daz3d forums hang up more than 100 times more than Carrara does on Windows 11.

This is true.
Outlet storeOr, on the other hand, why wouldn't the Outlet store get the same treatment as Bryce, Carrara, Daz NFT, Daz AI, etc.? Just another old Christmas toy.
New Computer For CarraraCarrara 8.5 Pro runs fine on Windows 11. You still get a hangup every now and then maybe from a rogue DS product or a whoopsie in the modelling room but no more that what you get from Windows 7 & 10.

I installed a virtual machine on Windows 11 to run the Carrara plugin and Octane Render.
One more clarification: I sounds like you did not install the virtual machine for Carrara alone, i.e. Carrara Pro 8.5 runs OK with Win11? I've heard form others that this is the case.
Yes, I'm a little paranoid about Windows upgrades and my trusty old programs ...

I installed a virtual machine on Windows 11 to run the Carrara plugin and Octane Render. It seems to have a lot of compatibility issues with Windows 11.
The last GPU supported by that plugin is the RTX 20xx.
In any case, the virtual machine has a lot of issues with camera control. The only viable solution seems to be to run Carrara on my old PC.
OK, thanks for the heads up. Just to clarify, you say "the Carrara plugin and Octane Render". Is that all one thing, or is "the Carrara plugin" something else from Octane Render? I don't use Octane, but I'm still running Win10 on both of my desktops. The newest one (5 years old) has an nVidia GeForce 2060 RTX video card.
the situation has changed since I bought botn outright
Otoy now has a subscription model
I bought Octane render standalone which was required plus the plugin when it was Octane render 3
I upgraded to 4
it now runs without needing the standalone installed but you need to own it
this configuration is no longer for sale since they moved to a subscription service
I also own the DAZ studio plugin for 3 that I paid for before it was free for 4 but since it clashes with Ultrascenery and we have iray for D|S it is no longer installed
I don't have a subscription
