As some who's over "6 feet" tall, and has several female friends who are taller than me, how is being taller than whatever your local average not "reality". 

That's the same logic as with the female bumpers... Since I know a woman with two beach balls on her chest, that should be the starting point for any 3D base model as well...

It's just easier to make things bigger and taller than smaller and shorter, at least has been with these models ever since I got onto the wagon with V3/V4.

Great news, now just need to update the genesis 8.1 page to remove the feature.

I think they should expand the feature list instead...

"Horns, wings, mertails, fangs, goat legs and horse bodies have been added for the female face and body" 

"Cat and fox morphs and shiny cat fur have been added for Males"

Day 1  - Bundle 1

Day 2 - Bundle 2

I'm still not understanding...they haven't "re-released" any existing characters. Victoria 7 has about as much in common with Victoria 8 as she has  with Olympia. They are all completely different characters...the only thing they share is the name. Victoria 7 looks nothing like Victoria 8 who looks nothing like Victoria 8.1. 

I think OP meant they hope Daz would focus on core characters we have not had yet with G8 (named characters from previous generations who don't have an equivalent or totally new ones) rather than revisit the ones we already have (which could be interesting too, mind you)

To be honest, I wouldn't hate it if they gave Mike and Josie a makeover like they gave Vicky.  Like Vicky, I'd never use those base characters alone.

Wonderful! Thank you for the heads up. I've been waffling back and forth on picking up one of the bundles to get the hair as well knowing there is nothing (save for the new dForfe hair released today which looks wonderful) that I'll ever use but I want the character. I'm happy to know I can still get the hairs with the base character.

Yeah, the V8.1 skin sure seems to suck in light.  But so does real skin.  And yeah, some adjustments will be needed if you have mismatched skin shaders in a scene.

I wouldn't deem them too bright, or too dark. Skins can be adjusted to look in a variety of styles.

Haha ok, so I bought yesterday's bundle for nothing, then. Oh well. Not submitting another ticket.  

I did the same, debating if I should return the bundle and then purchase V8.1 or just keep it because I also used my PC+ coupon  but then again I paid 52.34 for the bundle plus 30% exchange and didn't really have a need for the other products and if I had just purchased V8.1 it would have been closer to 22.00 so 30 some dollars difference for what I bought and what I actually wanted. 

So it's the 8.0 character that is too bright, and the 8.1 character is not too dark? Because it would suck if adjusting exposure for Victoria 8.1 meant every character released before 2021 comes out too bright in the same scene.

Would still be interested in Lilith 8.1 and Cat 8.1 though. Lilith 7 was great, so I wanted a Lilith 8 since the beginning of Genesis 8. And a Cat for generation 8 is also loooooong overdue.

I do like the new look for Victoria with 8.1, and I pprobably pick her up when they have a good sale or freebie on her.   In terms of 8.1 figures besides her that I have 8.0 versions for already, naw, I will not rebuy them.   I'm terms of of a release of "7" series characters , my picks would be Rune 7 and Ophelia 7.   These have been dropped from the Gen 8.0 line and I would like to see them again as 8.1 figures.  Both were beautifully made and I like thie r muscular detailing over many of the Gen 8 figures.   In terms of the men, I would like to see Lee 8.1, but as he looked in his 7 series look.   The Gen 8 took a step back with him.

I agree.

I suppose calling her Victoria 8.1 made sense from a marketing point of view, as the first female character for their female figures(or the figure herself, befor the Genesis line) has been "Victoria" for years.

But since 8.1 is an update and not a new generation it also gave the wrong idea that she was an update of V8, which she isn't.

I'm afraid I'll pass as well. Paying full price for a figure I already have just because it has some tweaks doesn't make sense. If this was pre-COVID-19, I would had fallen for it, but lately I've been more careful with my expenses. Sorry Daz. :(

Again, Victoria 8.1 is a new character with different morphs and different textures, not "Victoria 8 tweaked for G8.1". Just like Victoria 8 wan't simply a G8F version of Victoria 7. She's basically another core character.

Of course if you're not interested in the new character then don't buy her, but nobody is asking you to pay for "a figure you already have".

I was looking at this product page and really liked the hair style. I thought I recognized it and I was half right.

I know the bangs are from the Mega UpDo product but the back is long. There are no options for long hair in the back with that set. My best guess is that they loaded the bangs from Mega Updo and then some other hair product? But I can't figure how without it clashing with whatever front hair that product has. Mega Updo is the only hair product I can think of that loads in 3 zones.

I'd love to hear some opinions because the look of that hair in the promo is a great look.

Thanks a lot for announcing this, and thanks to DAZ for doing right by us and releasing the vellus hair for us V8.1 buyers as locking this feature behind a $100+ paywall was not sitting well with folks!

If you look at the shape she is essentiall just Genesis 8 base more defined. In that sense she has nothing in common with Victoria 8.
