Since the last update, DAZ Install Manager is no longer able to log on to my account and no solution I tried helped. So I installed DAZ Central to bypass the problem, but DC hasn't even a start symbol and when started from the directory itself, it doesn't work. So back to 2010, where I download my content from the Product Library and unpack every single file by hand.

It this really what DAZ understands by advancement?

Isn't this a showstopping bug and grounds for immediately pulling the program until the code's gone over with a fine-toothed pneumatic drill? I already didn't want to use Central; after all these glitch reports in recent days, there's no way I'd bother to install it.

I couldn't agree more.  And there's been very little response from Daz.

Since you ar also posting in the main thread on Daz Central I am locking this one - as you were told there, you probably need to opena  suport ticket.

You'll probably need to put in a ticket with customer service then if you're still not able to log in to Install Manger or Daz Studio.

Could the layout of the Content Library be altered to reflect the layout of the Smart Content?

What I am talking about is would it be possible when selecting a letter in the product library for the products to be shown in the right hand panel which is currently empty until a product is selected, Once a product is selected then the product details are displayed in the right hand panel as they are now and in the Smart Content library.

At the moment when trawling through the Content Library it is almost impossible to see the product picture icons in the left hand panel and although a larger image is shown when the mouse hovers over a product it means knowing what the product is you are searching for before checking it is the right one. Having the product images in the unused right hand panel would allow larger images and title and easier selection of a product- just as happens in the Smart Content panel.

Daz Central goes a long way toward this for Install Manager/owned products but it woud be nice to be able to do something similar inside DAZ Studio

Hmm, and see them inside DIM? If that's so, then great because I'm thinking I'll stick to DIM. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to use the install files anyway and I just got the "not finding Daz installed issue" too, despite installing it from Daz Central just a moment ago...

Yes, select all the products you want thumbnails for (or all of them), right-click on one of them, and choose "Retrieve Thumbnails" > "All missing in selected".  Then the thumbnail is displayed when you hover over an item.

Since installing Daz Central.. I am unable to login to Daz install , Daz Studio nor Daz Central itself - Individually .. ( Yes i know 1 can't use Daz Central and others at same time ) ... I can only login to Daz3d Website.. Yes i have reported this problem via Support Ticket..

This is ridiculious !!!! .. they put out a new program ( Daz Central )  to help people use daz studio and related products better .. and yet i can't login to check for updates and download any updates or new purchases !!!! >:(  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm not a new user but I just built a new PC so I'm trying to give Daz Central a go, it might be something simple but I do like the idea of being able to see a picture of what I'm installing. The one thing I'd like to know is if it can install products using the install files I got using DIM on my old PC, instead of having to download them all again. If not, then yeah, I'll stick to DIM, I definitely don't want to download almost 4000 files again.

All that the release notes say is

   DazCentral comes with a framework for you to manage and update your Daz Plug-ins so you can do more with your content.

not that it will have plug-ins of its own (which I had misread). There isn't going to be an SDK for it.

As for the Das Central issue. Since it draws from DIM, what I did was just reset everything to default in DIM, restarted DIM, and then put all of my paths back in once it was happy and found things. After that I just restarted the whole computer again and then Daz Central and violins!

It found everything with no issues. Even updated all my products that needed it.

Okay so it seems to be working now on the desktop. Only bummer now is the fact that it will not see all my Rendo DAZ products or Poser products. That would make it worthwhile and then we can merge/fazeout DIM...

I've attached a screen-shot of the settings in the Content Directory Manager and they are all correct.

I've never touched the path in "CMS Cluster Directory" for all the years I've used DAZ Studio.

The path "D:/My Library" contains the .duf files that are not being registered in the CMS - all files with a date after 5/2.  That was the last time I backed up the User Data.  Since that time, until yesterday when DAZ Central performed a reset, I was quite busy creating dozens of custom materials, poses and subsets.  None of them are visible to CMS.

The Content Library pane>Daz Studuio Formats will show actual files in yoru mapped content directories. However, I suspect the issue was that you were using a non-default location for the ContentCluster folder and the Daz Central install reset it - in which case reverting to the non-default value in the Content Directory Manager (from the Content tab of Edit>Preferences, Daz Studio>preferences on a Mac) should put everything back.

Although Daz Central supports plug-ins that doesn't necssarily mean that there will be a public SDK - that would depend on the purpose of the plug-in support.

Deleted Daz Central and reimported meta data got everything back and is working fine

OK GUYS I JUST GOT MY STUFF BACK!

 

Good find.  I had to search a bit further for my CMS directory.  I had several lying around that were all wrong and linking to them did nothing.  I'm not sure if these were created by the daz central install or what, but in the end I found a CMS directory in my appData/roaming directory, of all places, that worked when i used it in the CMS settings as you described.
Man, what a dumpster fire.  I uninstalled Daz Central as soon as I could, and I wonder how much damage it did to my various paths and settings.  I'm afraid of what will happen the next time I try a fresh install or a contend db migration.

Thanks for pointing me to the appData directory. DazCentral wiped out that link along with most of my Daz interface. Now all I have to do is figure out why I can't login.
