RSSY Character Converter Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female to Genesis 9
Daz Central does not install to the listed locations on the readme page/tutorials for scripted products. It spreads them over your system and this will break most scripting. I would suggest installing any scripted products via DIM or manually.

I want to go back to the previous version...

For what issues?
Genesis 8 female character doesn't work with OOT hair. I need to set a Transmitted color of the hair to none and that needs to be done after all other assets are loaded to character so I can render.
That is a content bug, compounded by installation order if using DIM/Daz Central/manual (it's a shared file that has the issue, so if a fixed version is installed last the issue will be fixed for all hairs like this) or exactly which product is read if using Connect (each product has its own folder, but I think DS grabs the first copy of the shared file it finds).
That content worked very well with the previous version. That's why I would like to go back.

WOW good to know I am not the only one with the nightmare of 4.22. Even posting request for help, my latest post last night trying to figure out why DazCentral install multiples, went ignored.
I tried to render today...NOTHING. It gets a few seconds in, then stops. a small "there was an error rendering" then blank canvas.
Daz is seriously underestimating the issues! People have invested money, ALLOT of money into their content and their work and DAZ Is just blithely ignoring the nightmare that has become 4.22!

Make sure that you stress in your ticket that you need the old version because you are using Windows 7, not just as a matter of taste.
Why should people need to "Roll back"? Clearly this thing wasnt properly tested. Why did DazCentral, your own installer, so poor??
In this case, the version of iray includd in 4.22 does not work with the newest driver avaialble for Windows 7 so rolling back is the only way to have GPU-assisted rendering.
Daz Central is being phased out in favour of Install Manager - but what does "so poor" mean?
Why the heck is the support so poor?
Daz has been one of the longest running sites/content creators around...you are telling me it's staff or rather the company, cant hire more people to deal with backlog? To address VALID issues??I don't follow that at all.
People are getting harsh and nippy because they have invested money and cant use anything! Some people are losing money and now seeing "it may take weeks"?
That is not the general experience, the number of problem reports is not as large as with some previous builds. Some of them seem to be specific issues (mostly related to the updated iray), some are matters of taste rather than actual faults (the New Scene dialogue), some are deliberate design chnages (which have workaround, in cases like Paramater Settings not being available in non-node setting panes or the alert with zero commands,) and soem do seem to be real problems - though not necessarily directly "problems with 4.22".
What the heck???

It's a message UNDER the opening asset items in the Daz Central dashboard. It's very easy to miss because I'd guess many users click straight on Studio Assets and never scroll down on the opening screen.
Ah, thanks. I dont use daz central so probably why i didnt see it.

Since I installed everything with DAZ Central, DIM doesn't show any thumbnails. To get it to show those, you have to have 'Show product info tips' checked in the Advanced Settings dialog box. In the Advanced Settings > Downloads tab, make sure you have a location specified in the thumbnails archive field and the folder exists. Then select all the installed products (by selecting the single checkbox next to the Products category), right click and select Retrieve Thumbnail > All (Missing in) Selected. It took about 10/15 minutes? or more to download all the thumbnails for me, and now those are showing in DIM.
This was very useful. Thank you. I never knew this. It's not exactly obvious mechanics, is it?
Now ... how can I make those tiny pictures bigger?
if you hover over the selection it gets a lot bigger.
It does but that's not a swift, viable way of scrolling through lots of stuff.
If the new DIM coudl implement an option for (a) large thumbnails (b) grid view - ie like Daz Central - then, for me, I'd feel a lot less unhappy about the forced change to DIM.
Daz Central has been a key part of my workflow. Maybe some people remember what all their 1000s of named items look like. I don't - and without access to a quick way to see them and remind me that this set looks like this and that one like that, then I'm likely to use Daz a lot less.

Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerThis is good news. DIM has worked well for me and I always thought Daz Central was a bad idea that only made things more confusing, especially for new users.

You're welcome! Thought others must be in the same boat too. I found the info in some older threads in the forum...
I think Richard mentioned that there are no larger images like with the DAZ Central grid view, which was great for browsing or finding things based on image. In DIM, the 'tooltip' we get when hovering over items brings up a bigger image, but that's it I guess...

Will DAZ Central not work at all? Or will it just not allow us to install new things and stuff going forward etc. but still be available for looking at previously installed products?
Daz cenrtal will not be able to download and isntall content - it will just prompt to update to DIM.
Thanks Richard for the reply! I wonder if this means that I can use DIM to install stuff but still use DAZ Central to inferface with my stuff... Hmmm
I don't believe so as Daz Central doesn't have an offline mode the way DIM does.

If you know of any DIM documentation beyond https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info and the old documentation the help button in DIM takes us to, please do share it with us.
...
Like you, I have a lot of things showing in the Ready to Download tab that I've already installed. Looking closer, I see that they are the Poser versions of things I've installed the DS version of. So I think we can just ignore those?
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/start
Yes, and it may be worth checking the Download filters to make sure you aren't seeing things you don't want. DIM can do, and therefore show, things that Daz Central didn't.
I somehow missed this post earlier. I'll bookmark that page and look at the download filters and settings. Thanks Richard!

I'll check and see if the uninstalled stuff on mine is older Poser-era products like you're seeing.
I started off using DIM years ago, then started using DAZ Central when it became available and much prefer having the large thumbnails and being able to easily search for products. Personally I think it's a backward step to get rid of it!
DIM does have filtering options that Central doesn't, however.
I too was a bit confused by seeing so many items to download in DIM, but they were all older versions of Poser stuff. The easiest thing is to select them all, then hide them!
Daz Central Ending - New Enhanced Install ManagerFrom my point of view I think the DIM is a great product. a standalone and offline-online application. It makes it very robust, ideal for a non-casual environment where the important thing is to use your time for what is really important. I also don't understand this habit of reinventing the wheel over and over again. If something works well, it works well. It would have been better to dedicate the effort and time from the beginning to improving the DIM and incorporating the positive points that DAZ Central users highlight as advantages.

paulawp I only did a very quick check and spotted a lot of Ps and PoserCF files. I don't know if there are also some Poser-era stuff in there that I never saw in DAZ Central or anything like that.
But I had a little more of a look now, and I'm seeing tutorials and Ron's brushes in there, which I usually download separately from the store product library. I'm also seeing some other strange stuff that's not in those categories that make no sense. Like part 2 of 3 of a regular iray outfit - maybe it's the outfit templates? Not sure what these are. So I think we need to look at it closer. Let me know what you find too.
Will say though that since that download/uninstalled list in my DIM is over 2000 in number, I'm tired just thinking about having to look at each of those.
